How to restore backed-up ROM - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

OK, I hope I will not be flamed for this newbie-type question, but anyway here goes.
I followed some directions I found on this forum to backup my ROM from a Hermes device using the "itsutils". As a result of this process, I now have three files, Part00.raw, Part01.raw, Part02.raw.
I then flashed my device with some other ROMs which I found on the website in order to test some WM6 functionality.
But now, I am wanting to restore my Hermes to its original roms. Which tool should I use to do this? Are there any directions buried in the forum somewhere? I have been searching but might not be using the right keywords.
Thanks in advance.

help with restoring factory software to xv6800

I tried the win 6.1 last night. I haven't been able to use my internet to download anything. I also can't access certain web sites. I've read about it in the treads, so I've decided to back to stock until the bugs can be worked out. I have collected files from all over your server, but I'm unsure how to use them. rar files??? any info would be much appreciated

Check out this thread here.
Go to post 22.
is there an exe file for the rom flash like for 2.2 or do i need to get some other program? The directions seemed to be aimed more at upgrading to 3.16 rather than back to stock. although post 49 wasn't available at that link so that may be my problem

Sorry - I meant post number 22. Happy fingers here I guess.
It's pretty straight forward.
Use the step-by-step guide.
You will do steps 1-3, then load the official carrier released rom (ex 2.17).
Then complete steps 8-11.
Let me know how it goes.
bullet proof. thanks. im on my way to getting everything working again. I had to call for my Akey..no biggie.....this is pretty cool as soon as i figure out how to get myself up and running i'll probably flash again to try something new

Modifying Sprint Original ROM 3.56 by using IMGFs Tools

Dear all,
First of all, I thank to the developers of IMGFs tools for modifying ROMs. Though I was not able to complete the process when I tried to use it on Sprint Original ROM 3.56 for Mogul HTC 6800. I had successfully created "imgfs.bin" file. But thereafter I could not do anything. When I tried to use the step "imgfstodump" it worked as shown in the attached file. I could not understand what to do next. I need help from the forum on further process.

[REQ]Guide for Flashing

I am just learning how to get down and dirty with my phone and I have not done a rom flash before but I am very comfortable tweaking my Registry. I am sick of the neutering that Telus has done to my phone and I want to try a new rom but there is a lot of confusing acronyms tossed around (CID, SPL, HardSPL, etc....) There is also these words that scare me LOL like bricked, dead etc.... Basically what I'm looking for is a no nonsence guide that will accomplish the following.
1. Start with some simple theory
2. Explain the process of the unlocking (CID, SPL, et...)
3. How to back up my stock rom in case of emergency
4. How to use a kitchen to build the rom
5. How to flash my device with a custom rom
6. How to flash my Radio Stack and what radio stack is safe to use on TELUS
7. Finally how to restore my device back to factory should It need service.
If these resources do exist and I just cant find them, (XDA is huge). Please don't hesitate to point me at the right place(s). I am just terrified of bricking my phone and being unable to afford a new one.
Also, if no such inclusive guide exists but enough people can get me safely through the process, I will wright a guide for it on the wiki Scouts honor.
---------
Phone: Telus Touch Pro
Carrier: Telus
Rom: Stock but want to change
Radio: Stock but want to change
I've asked a bunch of those questions on XDA's IRC channel, which is why a guide on the theory/benefits/facts etc. on flashing would be great to the forums. I have not flashed my device yet, for the same reason as you, that I cannot afford another phone if it gets bricked and me purchasing my unlocked phone on craigslist from a complete stranger. I only hard-reset my Raphael and installed only the bare essentials since the phone is fast enough for me. No one has really proven to me "You're driving a Ferrari in first gear", as the author of blownfuze referenced between non-flashed Raphaels vs. flashed Raphaels. I understand flashing helps the speed of your phone and enables you to do other cool things, but everything runs fine on my phone and I felt that the risk, even if it were around 10% of bricking, was not worth it for me. Perhaps when I get a job again I'll hardspl it.
edit: opps, this is CDMA forums. I have a GSM phone.

Installing Feeyo's 2.2

Well...
I am having some trouble to be precise I have no idea what to do!
(Caution: Don't use small words words... I'm a newbie to rooting...)
1)
Every guide I read said I needed to do a Nandroid Back-up (Now I am guessing it some type of application) I searched everywhere on Google but ended up being tossed to G1 section.
2)
Feeyo has included a radio. Now I have no idea what to do with the Radio file or if I even need to download it! (Running HTC Hero Official 2.1 Update) and if I need to download it which goes first Radio or ROM?
3) Say when Feeyo releases 0.2 update for his ROM do I have to wipe and do the whole process over again and lose all my data?
P.S. Why doesn't someone create a easy rooting application like Redsn0w or that Pineapple jailbreak (Quickpwn i think it is called...)

If you are on a 2.1 official rom, you can use my stickied guide in the dev forum to root and get custom recovery installed.
It is basically a one click process once you install adb, for which a guide containing pictures is linked.
I rooted my phone within an hour of it arriving, and it was my first smartphone, so I would have to say it's pretty easy, and that really only basic computer skills are needed, like using command prompt etc.
Nandroid is part of patched recovery and is like acronis trueimage for phones.
As for wiping for updates, just read the developer's post and do as you are told

1. You can't really nandroid before you get a custom recovery installed (at least not easily) so don't bother.
2. Radio is to do with signal - my guide in my signature tells you how to flash this.
3. Depends on how different the release is - you can always use Titanium backup to back up the data and restore it after (quite simple - again a guide in my sig).
Thanks for the reply!
I finally got my first ROM installed and working and it was good but now I want to go back to the official ROM...
Do I just simply restore the nandroid backup?

[Q] Tried to flash CM (wrong version) need help

[SUMMARY] - If you're bored or find this kind of thing funny you could read this post from the bottom up and watch a noob go from freaking out, to learning how to troubleshoot then finally resolving his issue... all of this just by reading the FAQ thread and following some advice found there. I've learned my lesson... read XDA *before* trying to flash a new ROM.
[SOLVED] - Solution was to flash the boot.img from stock ROM. Once I did that the phone rebooted and went into the typical device setup. Now I guess I can update my ROM.
[FIRST UPDATE]
Turns out a lot of exactly what I was looking for is on the FAQ page (first bullet in Q15, no less). Trying what I found there. Please don't blast me with, Maybe you should have read the FAQ... I've been all over the place trying to find something that would work quickly... I only have one phone and I commute into Philly for work so I need a working phone... Now that I've found the XDA HTC ONE X + FAQ, I think I'll be fine. Thanks for the great site... so much info on here to read... good for long train rides.
[ORIGINAL POST]
Hi, I ran into a problem trying to flash CM to my HOX+ (AT&T). I followed the instructions here (wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_enrc2b), but that was for the International version, not the AT&T... Dumb? Guess so, I don't know much about the difference, but it's what happened. I've tried to connect to the phone (per the instructions on the wiki) to adb push the ROM I want to flash, but I keep getting the device not found error. The instructions warn of possible driver error on the PC, but I haven't found a driver yet that will allow me to connect. I can get into recovery (CWM-based Recovery v6.0.2.7) but with no ROM on the sdcard I have nothing to flash and can't figure out how to get the file onto the device. The wiki should probably mention putting the ROM on the device prior to going through the HTC unlock steps, just in case, but maybe they assume a more cautious user than I am. I've tried to flash from sideload, but don't know if that is even possible?
Can someone point me in the right direction, or start asking questions to help me figure out what my next step is? Just want to get back to a working phone...
Thanks!
