[Wanted] CAB to Package - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

I have searched everywhere and I still can not find a clear cut easy to read tutorial to be able to embed my apps into a custom ROM. I would like to be able to make the cabs into packages to use with "CorePRO HermesKitchen" or Bepe's tools.
Can someone help me?
Thank You,
jokinawa

Removing caller ID

How do I get rid of caller ID ? - My extended ROM is locked, I have seen a post about a registry hack, but can not find it on any of the sites I watch.
Can anyone please help ?
Regards
Michael
I did remove the caller ID app directly from the ROM before upgrding my i-mate. It's pretty easy to do. There's a lot of help on the forums to modify the extended rom and a great article on the inside of the rom and how to modify it.
Try looking here, if you want more help, post again

Well, I am not to eager starting modifying ROM images.
I do remember an easy registry hack that worked, but lost the message and need to re-do it after a hard-reset (testing Sprite Backup).
Anyway, I think I found it:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->init->Launch149 (\Windows\IA_Caller_ID.exe)

Himalaya Romkitchen

Although this does not exist, I've tried to describe it using the existing tools.
Could you guys give it a review, so i don't give any wrong/unclear information.

nice work! Hopefully someone will try to automate this process by providing a real romkitchen.
well you cant place programs in the real rom like you could on the xda1's so a xda2 kitchen would just be a more userfriendly way of putting programs in the extented rom

Package Collection

Given the number of different ROMs and ROM cooking utilities, it's getting very easy to make a ROM do exactly what you want. However, there are very few packages readily available (that is without dissecting cabs or ROMs).
I decided I may as well upload some packages I have made (thanks to ervius's package tool and way to much spare time) so that everyone else can find the apps that they want.
If anyone has any packages to upload, please do, or link to somewhere you have them. But please don't take others work and say it's yours...

Useful tools:
build DSM
Hypercore
Neokit
Package creator (ervius)
MSCinf
Package tutorial
XML tool
Help for xml settings, and using packages in hypercore is attached.
Thnks for this
Please can you tell.me how can i add the one keyboard, ex. htc touch keyboard on the dump rom?
What utility are you using?
i would like to use htc touch keyboard in portuguese... i have taked the files from coffie pt rom!!... Can you help-me?
With which ROM? and in what form are the files? (taken from a ROM, an nk.nbf etc...)
OEM! I want to put on micro v2 edit by me!
Please see att.
Do you have something like hypercore or neokit?
yes yes... i used neokit... i have tried to put that files, do all exacly but not apears the keyboard!... some files missing maybe? :/
What language keyboard is it?
Portuguese- PTG
So, can you help-me? :x
Sorry, I've been out up till now...
I think the problem is that you need two packages (attached) one is the basic keyboard, and the other is the PTG language pack. Using the new Neokit, you should be able to import the packages directly.
Ok big thanks, i will try it
Isnt necessary change nothing on reg.?
The two packages should contain a *.rgu file, and this should be imported by neokit, so no need to change anything.
oh yehhh... i dont have copied that from gullum rom... So i found here is the problem Big thnks friend!
no problem.

You cook ROMS by building the basic componenet up. 3 folders are vital:
1) ROM
2) SYS
3) OEM
The ROM/SYS are the basic OS of the phone that is needed.
The OEM are essentailly the various packages or programs that you want the custom ROM to contain.
The thread by jerpelea contains all that you need for your kitchen to start cooking.
Given that you intend to create a custom ROM that is in portugese, I would recommend using the Blackstone OEM packages. Eack program appears to have 2 folders, a basic program, and then a language for that program. It is certainly easier than editing and translating the package to portugese.
