Does anyone know where I can buy the plug that plugs into the bottom connector for an XDAIIs?
I've asked everyone I can think of, searched Google, Maplin(UK) and Expansys and I can't find one.
It's probably because I don't know the correct name for it!
Ideally, I'd like one that has all 22 connections and even cables attached - they look really hard to solder onto by hand!

Wallaby, Himalaya are compatible with HP iPAQ Connector Plug Assembly (19/22/38/39/41/43/51/54/5500 Series)
but read that the plug of BlueAngel is not exactly the same.
I purchased an XDA II car charger from the O2 shop in Manchester - it came with a plug that works fine with my XDA2s - have used it on the car charger and on the supplied power lead - charges fine.
When I got my IIs, it CAME with the plug already, any standard car charger can plug right into that plug and then the IIs... You sure you guys didn't get it?????

I have developed a complete installed car kit for XDA, XDAII and IIs that does the following.
Mutes stereo when in call and puts all sound to front speakers
Can put navigation commands through the stereo
Hooks up to external microphone
Has PS2 (Holux) and RJ11 (TomTom and Leadtek) GPS connections
Charges device
I'm trying to get hold of a connector with 22 connections because I have one problem left.
To switch the car kit on, I either need a 5V feed from the device OR need to be able to put 5V in on one pin and get 5V out of another.
If anyone can help with either the connector or letting me know which pins I might be able to use send me a mail please

I own exactly the same keyboard as shown at the bottom of this page:

It's used for a HP 4150.
Now, I just like to modify it to use it with a Wallaby (O2 XDA).
The picture on the page mentioned above shows a connector that fits the Wallaby.
I already opened the case of the keyboard because I thought it was just a matter of resoldering some wires in the connector according the table mentioned on the page above.
However I found out that the connector is soldered onto a small circuitboard that fits in the connector, so I guess I need to have exactly the same circuitboard but then for a different connector.
Also, there are some wires that lead to the powerconnector on the left back side (wich is also mounted on a small circuitboard)
The powerplug of the Wallaby does NOT fit into this powerconnector so that needs to be replaced as well (including the small circuitboard).
And there is my problem:
Where do I get this connector (including the circuitboard that fits in the HPkeyboard) ?
I live in the netherlands so I think I need to order it somewhere on the internet.
Can anybody give me some advice?

My wife has just bought a second-hand Tmobile MDA Compact II (Magician). It didn't come with a USB sync cable so she keeps borrowing mine - Grrrrr!
Rather than buy another sync cable, I would like to get a cradle that can be permanently in place and thereby to reduce the number of times I keep catching the cable and pulling the phone onto the floor (surprisingly tough Wizards).
My question is this: does anyone know of a cradle that can be used with both a Wizard AND a Magician? They both use the same mini-USB connector and have similar base profiles but the Wizard is about 50% thicker so I'm concerned that a Magician cradle will be too narrow for the Wizard and a Wizard cradle will be too wide for the Magician.
Any suggestions gratefully received (and yes, before you say it, I could get two but I'm desperately short of desk space).

Thats the same i want!
But i want it to turn it 90 degrees CW. So i can use it for navigation (looks better then portrait).
but i can't find any holder so far...

I'll try and take a picture later to show you it "sitting" in my old Kaiser mount. If I modified the charger block to not be attached, I'm sure it would fulfil the requirements.
Works landscape and portrait too!

Here you go.
3 pictures:
1 showing my old kaiser in the mount, to prove it is indeed a kaiser mount, USB plugged in
1 showing the TP2 in portrait mode, sitting on top of the USB plug
1 showing the TP2 in landscape mode.
It should be noted that there is a bit of wiggle when in landscape mode. This is because the TP2 isn't as thick as the kaiser.
If you could find some way of attaching the USB plug where it should be, then that would help hold it in place.
Also, it's rather embarrasing that my company-supplied, POS, makes-everyone-sound-like-a-dalek Nokia 6300 takes better pictures than my TP2 can

What I want to do is to connect my TP2 directly to my Asus R2H while I'm in the car. That saves me another bluetooth connection for syncing.

Brodit do passive and active mounts, if you get the passive one you can connect your own mini-USB to USB cable to connect to your Asus. (The active ones have either a cigar lighter plug or a two wire connection for direct wiring into the vehicle)

Yes, I saw that. Only downside of a passive holder is that I have to plug the USB cable in every time. But hey: that's what I'm doing now as well

That's why I don't consider the active holder... I use a passive and have a car charger just in case of need (very unusual)!

Same here. Passive holder with car charger when in need (navigation or something else).
I ordered it last week, they said they should be in stock in the next days...

Why not charge the battery in the car? My phone and my laptop are basically on AC power the whole day!

Because LiPolymer-Batterys don't like to be charged when they are warm. In a car it can easily be 80+ [°C] and there is the direkt sun onto the phone.
My Brodit Active holder arrived today and I am pleased with it, however I am a bit concerned that when the phone is slid onto the holder the thin guides that slide up between the phone and the keyboard seem to force the two apart more than I think they should be.
Hmmm, I will have to wait and see it it results in a sloppy hinge.

Hey guys, i am hoping i missed something really stupid.
But i just bought a few accessories for my TP2.
I bought an extra charger, and an extra USB connection for my Cradle, and an official HTC car charger
All marked as being for the TP2
But they have a standard Mini-USB connection on them, not the wierd little cut off corner connection that is on the underside of my TP2
wht the hell have i forgotten?
is there an adapter i need to buy or summin?
I am thoroughly confused

No they will work fine, for Data and Power transfer normasl mini-usb cables work fine, you only need the EXT-USB connector (the cut off one) for video and sound transfer (headphones etc.)
