no there isnt... i suggest downloading a program called "Mobile Registry Editor" allows you to edit the PPC's registry from your PC through activesync... from there you can edit the appropriate keys..
I agree with walshieau, Mobile Registry Editor is a great proggy. In response to your question, I haven't seen a foolproof solution to this. You CAN change the reg settings but sometimes you'll have a Storage Card2 or such, not good as you then have to go and rename, a real PITA. Plus ActiveSync (not to be confused with AustinSync, LOL) won't sync with your SC's My Documents. Trust me, this I've been working on for quite a while.
In the WIKI you'll see find the reg key for this. Might be in the registry tweaks section of WM5, Blue Angel, Hermes or Wizard WIKI's...
Good luck.
(I'd also like to keep my Favorites on my SC....)
Thank you
Going to back up my reg first and have a play...
Thanks again for all you help
DotFred Task Manager, Registry Editor on PPC
Just copy this to your device and run it, first making a backup.
The actual setting should be listed in a ROM, or better yet a ROM Kitchen (do a search in the Hermems threads). I don't know if the setting the same for Hermes as it is for Wizard: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services]
"FileSyncPath"=\\Storage Card\\My Documents
The stting is from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311144
I agree with the Doctor I did it on my previous ROM, but what a mission ... you have to rename all the registry entries previously referring to "Storage Card" to your new entry ... definitely not worth it

Ok, sorry for the stupid post here, but how does one edit the registry on their phone? I have been trying to figure out how to do some of the programs in here, and it keeps saying "edit this registry value and then do this value". Where, how, what program, and all that other stuff do I edit these files to get these programs to work on my StarTrek? Thanks!
Nevermind. I figured it out. Thanks!
I am making my own OEM's for my personal stuff. I am working in/with dcd's kitchens. I am tring to name my RGU/DSM so that it is last in line to be wrote to the ROM. I am tring to change the registry, but it keeps getting changed agian by a different RGU.
this is the name i am using... ffffffff-ff39-4ba3-be51-51728503a67d
i thought the ffffffff would make it one of the last in line? guess not
question... 1. How does this RGU order go?
just so you know, not that it matters. here is waht i am tring to do....
i want the flashlight app to be assigned to a hardware key. i am putting that into my flashlight OEM's RGU so that i dont have to edit dcd_titan_appbuttons oem. this is easy to do if i just edit his RGU, but everytime he updates his kitchen i have to edit all kinds of stuff. i just want my OEM's to be able to be put into the kitchen and go. i just need to have the last write to reg so that the changes stick.
basicly the same thing with other things like power settings. i have my own oem that i replace with his that works fine reight now, but i am thinking if i knew this RGU order thing i could leave his in there and just add mine as well. mine of course get the last say if the order was right.
all kinds of things like todayscreen plugins/order, startmenu items, cleartype, ect dcd has set in his OEM's that i just edit to my liking. i would like to leave all his stuff and just add my changes.
and for the record... i know that UC is one way, but not the way i want to go.
Thanks, cody
^^^ I've been trying to figure this out as well.... for a long time I might add....
the rgu's are processed example (these are bad guids but you get it): 000-000-000-000 first and fff-fff-fff-fff last.
the log created in temp by buildos will show you the order in which your rgu's were processed
also remember that anything in provxmls will override anything in rgu's
because: the rgus are parsed to build *.hv contained in the rom image. when the device first boots it parses the provxmls itself, so any value they write will write over what your rgu wrote
but thats just a note, the appbutton config is all in rgus not in provxml. i thought i set the guid of dcd_titan_appbuttons low for this exact reason? maybe i forgot to check it..
thanks dcd. the guid for you app buttons was... 00002f98-d8f9-4c73-9dc7-d1f4fd5688f8.
last question...
you said fff was last. since mine was fff and yours was 000 shouldn't my have wrote after your wrote?
thanks for the lesson. tomorrow i will play.

if yours starts with fff, then it did overwrite dcd_titan_appbuttons
maybe what you are trying to set is set in another rgu also. check the log in temp to see whats being loaded after your guid.
I'll assume you thought of this, but just in case for you, or for anyone else...
I have a lot of custom registry stuff as well, so I made a cab file that is the very last thing to run in my UC script.
Try to put your file in a folder and name the folder something like zzz_My_registry_OEM I saw that somewhere and it just appeared to be so obvious.
Hello there,
I am not certain if this question has been posed a hundred times before or not. If it has, I apologize for asking again; however, I have searched through the forums and haven't found the answer yet.
My question is: Does an applet or utility exist which could be run after I update the ROM on my phone (or perform a hard reset, etc.) which would essentially read in the entire Windows Mobile registry, then allow me to customize the OS to my liking, then finally re-read the registry and save the deltas off to a .REG file?
I love to continually update the ROM on my phone and after owning an Apache and now a Titan, I have become pretty proficient getting the phone back to the way I like it; however, I would very much love to double-click a .REG file (or whatever) to have all of the customizations reapply immediately.
Does such an animal exist?
Thank you,
Erik

I havent seen anything that will create the delta's that you want but SPB Mobile back up will create a registry capture than you can reload that exact registry from that point in time. I dont know if that will help you but after months of not getting an app here or there to cook into my kitchen correctly I realized why bother. Just use the back up program after flashing and installing and I get the EXACT results I was looking for.
Good luck!

I would suggest against this if you are flashing different ROMs (i.e. 3.2.0 and 3.2.1, etc) as there will be different drivers that these programs rely on. It could cause some problems that a hard reset won't fix. Some people see no problems and other senior members have felt the burn after trying to reimage their device.
I would suggest looking into UC customizations for a better solution.
If i can get a full reg dump. only the reg from HKLM..
there are missing entries in the rom I have and it will be easier for me to go though a full .reg dump then all of the rgus in a rom dump.
Hard Reset might help u?

i have a different device. so the rom was ported before the rose was even released.
so a hard reset will only install the reg with missing entries. if i get a .reg dump of hklm i can find my missing reg entries and get all of the 740 functions on my juno

740 functions on junO? is the hardware same?
@shadowmike
I own S740. If you provide step-by-step instructions on how to perform that dump, I would post those files.

Thank you,
Basicly all you need is a reg editor for windows mobile, which can be found here http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/ if you don't already have one.
connect your phone to your computer using active sync.
open ce reg editor and connect to your phone.
the reg keys will be displayed in the left pane.
click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then EDIT > EXPORT, save the file
then zip the file and upload here thankyou for your help.

No not at all. I should have made my comment earlier more clear.
I want to get the OS functions on my phone. As the rom ported has alot of stuff removed. Like audiomanager homescreen plugin, htc email homescreen plugin, etc, etc. but we do have everything else from your phone on ours. like phonecanvas 2g.. thankyou
but obviously features like GPS and other hardware features that arnt on the OMAP850 will not work. But like i said, we have your rom on our device so put yours and mine next to eachother your just going to see a diffrent case
Here it is. I removed certain parts with personal information (I hope I haven't forgotten any).

Cool thank you. and dont worry about info. I have to much of a reputation at allshadow.com as the number 1 user and moderator to try and mess with somones personal info like a criminal.
like i said all i want to do is get all the homescreen plugins working correctly .. thankyou for your help. if you need anything just ask. you can run manila 2d on your phone. you can check my instructions in the juno section or over at allshadow.com
edit... nvm im dumb i wasnt thinking this was going to be a dump of a used phone. i should have....
but i now realize what you ment by removing personal info. I can use this. and none of your info was in my way thank you again.
Question. for you guys. does the htc favorites homescreen plugin update automaticly or are they preset ?
@shadowmike
As far as I'm concerned the HTC Favorites plugin is a live display of the IE favorites. But I am not entirely certain about that since I don't have a S740.

I don't use it and have it disabled on my (altered) sliding panels home screen, but I have just tried it and it seems to update automatically.
It has a bug, however. When I bookmarked new site, it was added to the panel, but panel page with that site lacked headline "Internet explorer", IE icon and right soft key functionality.

Can anyone please make this into cab format for my tilt2? I have this over in that sub-forum but no one is responding, it doesn't get visited half as much as over here. Its the best mod i've found to fully increase all speakers even bluetooth on the rhodium/tilt2 device! I have tested and used many but this set of reg edits works the best and loudest while still keeping the quality crystal clear! Can anyone please make these edits into a simple cab install please? Thank you.
You know what funny is?
There is 351,464 threads, 4,637,131 posts, and 2,093,612 members here.
What do we see is GIGANTIC cash flow in that business(and HTC as PDA killer, etc, etc).
And noone made freeware CABMaker so far here.
All i wanted to say...this place lost all its character, it is just another phone forum now, practically.
Name it.
Cheerz,
nothin.
upd: you do not need cabs for this, imo, just make regs from these and use tc or taskmanager 3.x to import reg you need...until someone will make...cabs, or goddamn cabmaker.
upd2: before someone will ask: why i wont make cab for deeznuts instead of writing this:
i wont use stolen wincecabmanager, you do it, guys...

This sounds like SPAM, but check out the excellent CE RegEditor -- it is a nice remote reg editor that lets you view/edit/import/export your phone's registry from your PC, AND it lets you convert REG files to CAB files. It should do the trick for you.

Which one is the .csv? Lol, sorry, dont know a thing about this stuff. I just copy the audiopara3 file in windows, overwrite, then import the other 3-4 reg files using the app posted above via my pc through usb. Just looking for a cab to do all this for less hassle of course. Appreciate your help here in making the cab. Where you able to get it all in there?
