Guys and gals,
To my opinion we don't need an other WM6 ROM. There is a very big choice on this forum eincluding 2 touch ROMS which run smoothly until you need to do a SR, then your prophet freezes! We want a stable which doesn't freeze after a soft reset. Altough I want to thank the guys who work hard to give us nice new ROMS, but please guys your first and most important job now is to resolve this FREEZE problem.

And thats the exact point making a new rom I'm trying to leave out some things that may be the cause of frezzing... and make a rom in several landuages so that people wan't start translating these roms that do frezz our phones

just to remind you,this roms are totally free,you don't pay for them,the rom cookers don't get anything too for their jobs,so please if you can't help them,then better be quiet.thanks.using wm6 roms is your opinition,don't like them? there is so many "stable and fast" wm5 roms.

yea same here i've tried so many roms pdaviet and gullum's but my dopod 818 pro never had any freezing problem....

A lot of users end up with a prohet that freezes at startup after a RS. Read Gullum's answer: he is looking for a solution since he is aware of this problem!

For somebody working on this, here's a clue....
My phone freezes on a soft reset like the others UNLESS I've just run sbp's full backup. After a backup I can soft reset and it comes back. I run this backup daily so there's always a safety net for me.
I'm thinking the routine they use to stop processes must all clear some temporary cache that doesn't get cleared in a normal soft reset.
The phone comes back after a hard reset also.... so what do the two resets have in common/

Oke, let's not argue about how thoughts are written down. It is a fact that this freeze-issue exists although for some more the for others. And yes, we will all benefit if someone found the cause and thereby sets the first steps to a solution.
It's sounds a bit demanding if you say "find a solution first before creating new ROMs". It still is a kind of hobby for some insane but very dedicated wizzmen. They decide all by themselves how to spend their free time...
but I'm convinced that you didn't mean it that way, your only concern seems to be not creating ROM's with the same flaw. And Gullum gave you a well motivated answer to that statement.
But, to all of us, we are all free to search for solutions, cooking our own ROM in search for the unknown and to go where no one has gone before....
Wich means, all the ROM cookers that are active now cooked their first one at some point in time because they wanted something that wasn't there yet. So don't be shy and give it a shot.

Go here, which is where you should have gone in the first place. The photo shows you at bootloader screen. You may be able to recover by doing a HARD RESET--read the instructions for this first.

What sdevice are you using? Flash back the WM5 version of your brand to come out of bootloader. Then you can unlock with Olipro and try the WM6 again. Good luck
how could i flash back???? i/m using HTC Advantage X7500.... do you know that i can use ATHE_WM6_X7500_flasher or not??? i remember i read somwhere that it doesn't need cid unlock!!!! CID Unlock from Bootloader?

I altso have the x7500 but the "ATHE_WM6_X7500_flasher" bricked my device as well. As far as I know the reason is incorrect CID. (every device has a CID and the ROM must mach this) - If it is not unlocked.
You need to either get hands on the original ROM boot flasher to your device or send it in and get the service department install the original ROM for you.
... or wait until the official VM6 ROM is released for your x7500 (country/local spesific)

Not quite sure which of your posts to answer. You seemed to have posted this same post in multiple places..
If you have a HTC Advantage x7500 and the CID has not been corrupted, download this file
http://uploaded.de/?id=430xr4 (wm6 for HTC adavantage)
expand using winrar, connect to your pc via usb cable and
run ROMUpgradeUtility.exe
Hope it works...if not, Find the original shipping rom for HTC advantage WM5..Google is your Friend
You really should read the wiki and the other threads about upgrading before you did the upgrade...

"ATHE_WM6_x7500_flasher.rar" is for locked Athena's/x7500/Advantage. Worked on my locked Athena without a problem.

Be sure that you have removed your mini SD card. The Athena will not flash properly with the card in. I toasted a 4GB SDHC card by accidently leaving it in. The flash hung up where your screen sample is. Power down if possible or remove the battery, take out the SD card if poresent, try again. Hope this helps.

Yes my friend... that is what I should have done also. x7500 can be bricked with a ROM update. Therefor everybody not familiar with this : Read very well all the treads before flashing !

My topic was "Unlock from Bootloader?" and was a question if it was possible. I am not sure what you meant with this message. But I am not English or American and my English knowledge are limited.

I have the dopod was tried with Unlocker software just step 1 it install *.cab file into my phonethen it ask me has my phone gone idle or freeze( if not sure wait 30s then click yes ) -my phone still working so i click no , it still show up that message again so i'm wait for 30s then click yes , but it had some erros unhandled ...some thing so that software asked for continue or quit , because it erros so i quit ,then when i turn off my phone to change simcard it not power on anymore look like dead or no battery ( it have about 90% .how can i fix this problem , anybody can help me , i pressed the camera and soft reset button is did not enter to bootloader , i have the *.NB file in my desktop , i though it's my boot file ,it not boot anymore please help.....

After a lot of attempts and failure i could make a booting rom for NEON 400WM 6.1...its tough to cook a rom without having that device in hand.....nevertheless the long faces of NEON 400 ppl were not looking good ...so i decided to keep going.
All of a sudden I came to know,from somebody from ur community only that I failed miserably while trying to help ur community by cook a rom,for which u ppl r so despearate and for which I am not going to get even a single penny.then I decided to stop any developement for NEON 400.
But,I had forgotten that just because of 1 person i sud not break others heart and expectation from me....So,though the anger is still there deep in my heart...I am providing the link for another TEST version of WM 6.5.and i am sure this time it must boot.

Deepankerjha, first of all THANK YOU for stating this process, but, I have flashed the rom twice now on my neon 400 with Jockyw Hardspl but it will not boot, stuck at the first "HTC" screen and I do not get to the point of seeing any numbers or letters on bottom right of screen. I have left it 10 minutes before typing this message.

Update: Deepankerjha I believe I may know why the rom will not boot. I just tried to flash the stock bell rom but I got stuck at the same screen during boot up, but when I flash using the telus rom, which is also included with the JockyW download, the phone will start no problem. So could you give the telus rom a try as your baserom and see if this will fix this problem. Thanks.

surprise surprise....my download shows "0" downloads and i have got one feedback from cobra mentioning the problem of not booting up.so what sud i understand?i go with cobra and will cook another rom.but i would have appreciated if other ppl if download could have come up and share if they also got a non booting rom....or else i will have to give up trying to cook a rom which is nothing for me as i dont have a NEON 400 and most importantly i dont have a paypal button under my name,for which i sud work for...

deepankerjha there are lots of people waiting for this rom, but I guess where I was one of the first posts saying that the phone would not boot maybe they are waiting for the update before they download.

Sorry guys, I haven't been able to do this as the phone isn't mine but my girlfriend's. She has requested that I get a working ROM before making her have to reflash over and over.
If you don't mind, I'll start beta-testing this when I hear that it boots. She ALSO has a Telus Neon400.
I flash The new Rom base on android 2.3.4.
but original Gingerbreak v1.2 and SuperOneClick v2.1.1 Z4 root tools without

I'm looking for some sort of stock/generic ROM for Brazilian market. Mine has a Claro ROM and Id like not to have many softwares that comes from the carrier. Also, I've seen images of brazilian mobiles w/ 2.3.4 and mine has 2.3.3.......

I am looking for 2.3 ROM as long as it has english interface and come with Android apps... I shouldn't have flash the China ROM since it come with crap load of useless apps and no Google apps (market, gmail, maps) at all!!
If you have the link of the Brazil, or your Claro ROM can you share with me please?
guys i found a way to do it, my moto xt316 is now using 2.3.4 and rooted and link2sd so i have normally 7x mb in ram, and it's very smooth
i also have my google apps installed, gmail, calendar etc are functioning, unfortunately the market is still out of luck, crashed immediately after launched.
is there any one like to know the procedure? if yes i can share something. Honestly i think many people might have switched to some other higher-end phone because the xt316 with original moto rom is TERRIBLE....i only had about 2x mb ram

1. download and UN-compress all files. on your phone, choose application setting->development->enable "USB debugging", then connect your phone with your pc with USB cable and install driver automatically.
2. install SUT1.75.
3. Run SUT1.75, choose the corresponding file (FXX_PR3_NV.xml) from the folder (ROOT), when "Task 2 of 2 finished", click "Finish",
then your phone reboots:

4. after reboot, on pc, run cmd ->
type: cd (folder of ROOTD3)->
type : adb shell,
wait untill "#" appear, then you can close the cmd window.
5. open RootD3 folder, run RootD3_zhCN.cmd
your phone will reboot 3 times. After the 1st reboot, please check if the 2nd reboot starts automatically, if not, unplug the USB cable and plug it again, step 5 complete when the 3rd reboot is done.
6. Go into SuperOneClick folder, run SuperOneClick.exe, press Root.
After it says it is completed, check if you have the Skull Android icon in the menu, if yes, your phone has been rooted.

Thanks for the instruction indeed. i managed to root my 2.3.4 by this method. Any advices on how to make more available ram? The best would be to create a swap partition, but swapper doesn't work for me. I read, that not all kernel version supports swap. Is that true? if so, what to do then?

Please can anyone tell me where to find a good and stable ROM for flashing my HTC Tianxi T9188. My brother brought it back from China and left it with me. Unfortunately, I dont understand the Chinese language it came with and need to flash in an English ROM to be able to use the phone.
Its a shame that I have such a nice phone but cant use it due to the language issue.

HTC Tianxi is the China only released version of the HD2. Some differences - CPU, RAM and TD-SCDMA. To me this seems a slightly lower spec'd phone than the HD2.
Check out pdadb.net - run pdacomparer. Doubt there would be any other language version's. At your own risk you could try some HD2 - built roms or ICS Andriod roms.
Thats the problem tx. I was hoping I culd get an English ROM for the HTC Tianxi T9188 and not have to experiment with the HD2 ROMs, considering that both phones have different hardwares. Thats the risk I dont wanna take cos of the possibility of bricking the phone. I did come across an Android ROM though but I can see CHS in the name of the ROM which tells me that it is still a Chinese ROM all the same.
Another problem I am facing is flashing the HardSPL for the Tianxi. It us using SPL 1.27.0000 and I cant find a hardspl flasher which is compatible with it. I have searched here and in other forums and Google and any other place you can think of, still nothing. Have tried the ones I have seen online and always met an error. Any help here will be most appreciated.

If you have SD Card try loading (SD version) in the root and (MAGLDR) boot etc. If that works then it may take NAND versions.
Other than experiment, sorry cant be of more help.
I have tried all the hardspl flashers I can find in the thread you gave ... from HSPL to HSPL4. Non of them could work for the Tianxi. All gave the same BAD ID error and wont flash the HardSPL.
Please help me anyone ... I am getting frustrated by this

ROM must be flashed with spflashtools version 5.1343.01 or above.
Since you have this phone... I have an issue with bluetooth headset: the device is paired correctly and works fine (I can make and answer calls) but no operation is performed when I long press the headset button... I have both voice search and KLets installed but I cannot make any of them start when long press is performed, do you have any experience on this?

My phone bricked after flashing with this rom.
What should I do? I'm stuck :crying:
for the roms and tools for Star Z2 can be found on "talkmobi" page you have to google search for it as i am unable to post links yet:
there are two sections you have to look at:
"rom download & flash guide" (top menu link + click on it) --- flash tools, drivers & tutorial get printer handy
and the second "fast card tech rom released july" (hover on the link above and a menu will apear after downloading the mtk tools and drivers from the link itself) --- on this list there is the official Star Z2 Rom do not forget to write down the 4 digit password you will need that code to unzip/unrar file as archives are password protected.
used them to unbrick my jiayu G3T now working flawlessly

Battery life is poor, less than one day if you use it a bit intensively

I am finding this phone very good and with good consistent Benchmarking scores
The only thing that is holding this phone back is the Firmware wold love to have a kitkat or Android L Roms available for it and an easy to install recovery for it.
The question is where can i find such things?
it is brilliant and the snap in cover that came with it is very good at protecting it from falls dropped it already 5x and still works and still looks good!!
Tengda Z2 brick revival
Hey guys,
this ROM ( bit.ly/TengdaZ2ROM ) is actually a backup I found on 4pda.ru after I bricked my Tengda Z2 phone using the Star Z2 ROM I found here. It can be flashed using SP flash tool v5 or higher.

There are two (or maybe even more?) versions of this phone. One has 1280x720p LCD and the second one (the one I received from Pandawill... sadly) has only 854x480p LCD... That's the reason why any Star Z2 ROM may brick your Tengda Z2. It's actually not bricked, but the Star Z2 has different LCD driver, so it's LCD is blank after flashing it.
Because it's someone's backup, use recovery or your Tengda's menu to perform data wipe/factory reset. I had wifi issue (there was no mac adress in my phone after flashing it), but the factory settings solved it.
There may also be a problem with your IMEI number, in that case, write your IMEI numbers down on a paper and then use this way to change them:
Get MTKDroidTools, use them to root your phone and installing the Mobile Uncle Tools (using the SuperUser button in MTKDroidTools) in your Tengda Z2. There is a plenty of howto's on the net or YouTube so I'm not going to write the whole process. It's really easy. When you're in the MTKDroidTools, I also recommned you to use "delete chinnese files" button, It will make your phone work smoother.
Then use this method (coppied from XDA, can't find the original thread so sorry):
1- Rooted MTK Smartphone
2- Mobile Uncle Tools from Google play store.
3- Install it and goto Engineer Mode
4- Select Engineer mode[MTK]
5- Under Connectivity Tab go to CDS information
6- Select Radio Information
7- Select Phone1 (for the first imei)
8- at the top there is a command line which begins “AT+” just type there “AT +EGMR=1,7,”IMEI_1″ (instead of IMEI_1 put your first imei number)
9- hit send command
10- You will / may get a confirmation that "sent to mSend".
11-Now come back and select “Phone2″
12-at the top there is a command line which begins “AT+” just type there “AT +EGMR=1,10,”IMEI_2″ (instead of IMEI_2 put your second imei number)
13-Then just reboot the phone.
14-Dial ” *#06#” to Check Imei.
That's all, your phone should be working as before, or even better if you use the delete chinese files in MTKDroidTools :good:
