You can find it here: Settings->Connections->Beam

i did that!..
is there some kind of software i should use!
can anyone guide me on how to do it step by step plz

Receive all incoming beams has absolutely nothing to do with bluetooth! please don't miss lead others if you are not sure. well turn on your bluetooth, click on a file you want to send then click on "beam file" then wait for your phone to find the other device. also the way it works on my laptop is that at the same time i have to click on the bluetooth icon on my laptop and set it to wait for receiving a file, then on my phone I can see my laptop's name under the "Infrared" then all i have to do is to click on send. If this procedure didn't work on your rom and if you are using wm6 , well some of the wm6 roms in here have problem with bluetooth, wait for the one coming out in less than two days (touch V7/Crystal V1) they don't have any problem with bluetooth.

I am sure, that Beam is related to IR and also to Bluetooth
On my xda neo with Gullum V6 it only worked after enabling this option.
Look at the Orbit-manual and you will see, that it is so!
"To receive a Bluetooth beam
Your device will not detect and notify you of incoming Bluetooth beams
unless you set it up to do this.
1. Tap Start > Settings > Connections tab > Beam.
2. Select the Receive all incoming beams check box.
3. Make sure your device is turned on, visible, and within close range of
the device that is beaming the information.
4. When prompted to receive an incoming beam, tap Yes to receive the
beamed information."

Why not using the integrated Bluetooth drivers in XP SP2 or Vista?

OK. I have also Bluetooth dongle and there was a cd with some software. I didn't install this sowfware, because XP Pro SP2 and Vista Business could find the right drivers...and everything works fine with the integrated in Windows Bluetooth Wizard. It depends on your Bluetooth dongle maybe...
I also think that the problem is in the additional software that you have installed...

I heard before that Blue Soleil didn't work with Vista, but the MS drivers should though.... Obvious your experience differs. Perhaps something to do with the radio.

No. They do not have a Pocket PC version of their Net2Phone software. And if they did, the GPRS connection has crapy properties for voice calls, so you would need to make a GSM data call, and hope they have something with a low-enough bitrate to deal with the 9600-if-you're-lucky connection.
You searching for an ip-phone software?
Use netiphone PDA it is for free..
(but only useable over wlan devices, 9600baud are not enough bandwidzj)

WM6 Bluetooth sync with WMDC Vista how?

Guys, I've waited to find a solution, it's been almost 10 months, and I wonder if I'm the only one with the problem. I can sync via USB cable, but not via Bluetooth. My setup:
Computer: Vista Ultimate 32bit running WMDC v 6.1
PPC: Dopod 181pro G3 WM6 PDAViet 4005b.
Any help appreciated. Thank you.
You must change AS config. on your PPC for BT connection
What do you mean? Under my BT in my PPC, I have ActiveSync checked. It does try to connect with WMDC, but it just never actually connects.
Has anyone gotten bluetooth sync to work under Vista and WM6? I'm starting to think there is either something missing on the WM6 PDAViet, or the Vista BT stack is missing something.
So, find the bluetooth settings in Vista. I can't help you much here since I'm using a german version.
Systemsteuerung\Hardware und Sound\Bluetooth-Geräte
(Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Bluetooth-Devices?)
Open the panel and select COM-Ports, and add a Port for an incoming connection. Don't forget to pair the devices and tell the WMDC its allowed to use Bluetooth connections.
hope it works for you
p.s. I can't get my WM5 device to connect, its an hx4700. My Hermes works fine (WM6). Any suggestions on that maybe?
Ok thanks all, I finally got it kinda working. Kinda, cause it doesn't work all the time for some strange reason. The only thing I did to finally get it to work is, after I paired the PPC and computer up, I went to the BT icon on my desktop and clicked it open, and selected the 'HTC Phophet' icon, and under the service tab, I checked off Activesync. Then it was able to connect. It took a while to connect though, and also sometimes, it would not connect. Also, the speed is really slow, for example, to browse my PPC folders takes a very long time. I wonder if it's my upgraded radio rom. I will see if rebooting or soft resetting the PC/PPC would solve anything. Thanks again.

No problems syncing with USB Cable...

if you see "serial port" instead of "active sync" during getting them to 'see each other' you may check "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\SerialPort" key using regedit.
you have to change it to your bluetooth stack's incoming COM port (usually COM7). You will probably see "Bluetooth" in that key. just change it to "COM7" and restart the computer then rebind the devices.
it worked for me on my vista.

OK, did a search in RegEdit for
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\SerialPort"
but it didn't find this....
I do see
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\" with several subfolders in it....
One folder is called 'Extended Serial' and another is 'Services'....
Can you be verify the path to the item I should edit???
Thanks!

it is not a path but it is a REG_SZ (string) key.
sorry, my mistake. I should have written SerialPort key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services.
see the attached image.
it was "Bluetooth" before I change it.
I had no option to select COM7 in WMDC because it is marked as "used" in another registry but changing it and reinstalling the bluetooth stack is a harder way to fix. so just change it to whichever port your stack is using for incoming serial. you must have an option to check it in control panel.

Weird thing is that my X7501 and laptop can 'see each other' but still doesn't sync....when I click on 'sync' in ActiveSync on X7501 nothing happens and on laptop Mobile Device Center says 'Not Connected' and Sync Center shows the partnership with my X7501 as 'grayed out' looking.....
Not sure what you mean by 'you must have an option to check it in control panel...
Any suggestions as to what to check now???
Why Don't I See 'ActiveSync' Listed in BT Services List?
Seems that the problem I'm having getting my 7501 to sync to a PC via BT has to do with no having ActiveSync show up in the list of available services in BT partnership settings.
I just see Serial Port listed, not ActiveSync.
Could it be that I need to install ActiveSync again?
I'm using Vista on PC so I thought it uses Mobile Device Center and Sync Center which comes built-in to Vista. So didn't install ActiveSync myself...
Does ActiveSync install anything onto a mobile device like the X7501?
Thanks,
Mark
Frustrated X7501 BT Sync'r.....
GOT BT Sync Finally!
Just thought this might help someone else down the road to know what the problem turned out to be on why I couldn't BT Sync my X7501 and my laptop....
I called HTC this morning. They were actually extremely helpful!
Turns out that my laptop was using BlueSoleil BT software instead of MS BT Stack...deleted BlueSoleil and restarted and voila! MS BT Stack installed and then I could see ActiveSync service on my X7501!!!!
Who would of thought about that.....

I have the same problem. Seems to be a fairly common one. My WM6 PPC (with Active Sync) will not sync via bluetooth to my Vista Ultimate "powered" machine with WMDC. No trouble syncing via USB. Also no trouble with bluetooth pairing of the PPC and my machine or sending files (directly) from one to the other via bluetooth. Just no syncing of Calender, Tasks, etc. over bluetooth. Kind of infuriating.
Also possibly worth noting---I had no trouble syncing same PPC to my old XP powered machine with Active Sync. Why did Microsoft insist on "improving" on something (Active Sync) that worked just fine and was straightforward to use? Vista and WMDC in particular are steps backward in my view.
Pointless griping aside, the symptoms suggest that bluetooth stacks are working, that active sync and WMDC are talking (over USB), just no syncing, suggesting something is inconsistent in the way the ports are set up, just as others have implied in this thread.
Incidentally I tried everything listed in this thread, including the Regedit modification (all of this made a lot of sense given the problem) and still get no response when I try to sync over bluetooth.
On my ppc the only options for com ports are COM2, COM4, COM6 and COM8. Does this matter?
Help!? Please.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Well, as for myself, it tured out that my problem had something to do with the pocket pc ROM I installed, as posted in the first thread. It would sync a few times at first, then never again. So, all this time (years) I've just done it with USB wire.
Now I just got done upgrading my Prophet to Ultimate v 2 ROM. And my BT active Sync is now working like normal. I knew from the description of the first paragraph there was something wrong with my flash of the new ROM or the ROM itself. Anyway, now it's working like normal. It's now time to go fix my headphone jack that is stuck in headphone mode lol. I need a new PPC!

Did you guys found an answer for that? See if it is the same as my question: I have a notebook with internet (cable) and I want to use my cell phone as a router, to conect another computer via wireless. Is it right?
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=453&more=1
see if it helps
This is exactly the sort of thing I would like to do. All the solutions to date use the Internet sharing directed over the GPRS but not the WIFI if available. I would be happy to connect to it via active sync or bluetooth (the former probably being easier).
Hope somebody finds a tool or a hack to do it as this would be a great addition to the Prophets functionality.

[Q] OK, Skype is completely dead on Windows Mobile...

Even after Skype's February 2010 announcement that Skype would no longer support WinMo platform, Peter Parkes (brainless effing moron that he is, IMHO) said Skype just wouldn't be offering any more WM downloads but would continue to allow WinMo customers to connect and use the service. I'm not sure how long that lasted or when it stopped, but recently my brother loaded Skype on his Verizon BB Storm 2 and it works fine so I have been trying to connect my two WinMo phones from here in Thailand so we can converse inexpensively, one HTC 8525 WM 6.0, and lately Toshiba TG01 WM 6.5. Unfortunately both go through the motions, but neither will connect to the Skype server. I've even gone to Skype's support website and learned that other WinMo users are also complaining that they can no longer connect so it seems that Skype is indeed dead on WinMo.
So what's a suitable mobile VOIP alternative that will work on all platforms? Any ideas or comments?
Thanks!

You should really try again. Today I read your post and tried to establish a connection vià Wi-Fi using the WM Skype client. Lo and behold my first try was successful. I was able to make a call and to chat. So I think I can without any doubt say: It works.
Pay attention to the following details: If you tried to connect through your wireless carrier vià UMTS make sure your carrier does not block VOIP. A lot of them do. If you tried to connect using Wi-Fi ensure that your router's firewall does not block the ports Skype uses. You should be able to find out which ports are needed by Skype by visiting their website. If I remember correctly I had to open some ports myself in order to get skype working. And of course make sure you use the latest client. I have attached a .rar archive containing the latest version.
My phone is a Xperia X1 (WM 6.1) and I use the latest Skype client (not the Xperia panel).
Hi!
I've just downloaded the latest attached skype. After installation and checking the wifi router / 3g connection settings I experience the same continuous logging screen with an error message on timeout...
Any suggestions how to use it?
I'm using a gsm touch pro2 (rhodium100) with 6.5 energy rom (one of the latest builds)

Thanks for the info, altae! I've tried every version of Skype I could find for WinMo on 2 different WinMo phones with no luck. Skype works fine via my laptop, it's only WinMo where it won't connect either via my cellular data plan or connected via USB/Active Sync via a different ISP. I will contact my cell phone company tomorrow and confirm they aren't blocking Skype.
Thanks!

"Remote Phone Call" by JustRemotePhone
Hello,
We have developed an application which allows to call numbers on Android phones through a PC. The app also allows to pick up calls.
Look for the trail version of "Remote Phone Call" at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=justPhone.remotePhoneTrial or for the full version at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=justPhone.remotePhone
Since we have replaced our traditional office phones by mobile phones, we use our app every day by ourselves in conjunction with a Mono-Overhead-Bluetooth headset.
With the last version we have also a Microsoft Office integration for Outlook, Word and Excel. This integration allows calling of contacts, mail sender and recipients, numbers from editor text and Excel cell contents.
I hope this helps
Thomas.

Just discovered this app tonight.. fantastic! With some additional tweaking I've managed to set it up so I can make and receive calls using the onboard speakers and microphone of my laptop. Here's how I did it in case anyone else wants to give it a try:
1. Download Remote Phone Call from the Market - I used the trial version to test this but will be getting the full one based on the results!
2. Install on your phone and laptop (Win 7 x64 in my case)
3. Connect using Bluetooth NOT wireless (in fact disable wireless connectivity in the Remote Phone Call app options on your phone)
4. Pair your phone (Galaxy Note 2 in my case) to your laptop over Bluetooth
5. Goto Control Panel, Devices and Printers.. you should see your phone here if you've paired it right
6. Right-Click it, click Properties, then the Services tab and tick them all. Click Apply
7. Windows will install the drivers it needs but will probably fail on Bluetooth Peripheral Device
Go here and follow the instructions - make sure you get the right version for your machine (32-bit driver / 64-bit driver).
There's also links for AMD CPU versions on the same page (scroll down to the bottom left)
8. Assuming you get the missing driver installed, start Remote Phone Call in Windows and click on the Bluetooth headset icon at the top (choose your laptop name from the list)
That should do it!
One request... if you could add a dialpad to the Windows app (for navigating IVR menus etc) that would make this even better!
Cheers
did you find this?

The app 'remote phone call' is getting close, but still you can't call from the PC of Mac and also only from the same network.
Would be very nice if you found a sollution. I think this is what a lot of travellers are waiting for
Thanks,
Sven

Cheers

I cant make it work.. What bluetooth card do you have?? Broadcom right??
Do you know what chip it has? and where did you get the driver??
Thx so far... It looks like i am so close to my goal.. If i can make this work then my carpc will be perfect
MyPhoneExplorer
Why don't you guys try MyPhoneExplorer? Its simple, its decent, its lightening fast. Only drawback, you cannot talk on phone via PC. Rest all, it does.
On top of that its FREE!

"Remote Phone Call" by JustRemotePhone
I have an issue with this. I install PC software and apk. Connection is ok, but when I want to check Service status (service not running) I have error code 514 ( Your licence could not be verified...).
Anyone?
still looking
I know this is an old thread, but I destroyed google search all day long having the same problem.
Android Phone is in country A, I am in country B.
How can I make remote calls through WIFI?
I don't have Windows > only Ubuntu and MacOS with me in country B.
I have adb access to phone in country A, also fixed IP there.
Are there any solutions in 2020? I tried teamviewer but it doesnt route the audio over internet.
Check out Join.
Look for some sort of screen mirroring solution, something like https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy with remote adb?
