yesterday i flashed my xda neo (wm5) with the Transformer1.1 distribution from PDAVIET. Very nice. I like this style!!!
After installation i experienced some small problems that took me half a night to solve
But i would like to share my solutions after this horrible trip of searching...
1.) Problem: I tried to copy my Contacts from SIM -> Phone. No success. Even to start Contacts was impossible ( i saw the screen for about 1 sec or so).
Solve: Delete or rename the pim.vol file in the ROOT directory of your Prophet. That fixed the Problem.
2.) Problem: TimeWizard Notification always pops up everytime you turn on/off the scree or after reboot.
Solve: Download the free tool CheckNotify (can be found here: http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/product_detail.php?productname=checknotify ) and delete the notification. It is a deprecated notification from wm5. Dunno why it is still available in wm6 roms.
Thats all i can tell you, up till now. I additionally try to solve the problem of broken links in Programs like Modem Link (that i would like to use), Pocket MSD ( that i wouldn't miss), Terminal Service Client and ZIP functionality.
If anybody already has a fix for this i would be happy to know it
Otherwise i hope will soon be back with the fix.

Those problems are allready solved .. You just need to hard reset your device after flash..
It's better for your health if you would read the many threads on this forum. Al the probs you mention are caused by not doing a hard reset after flashing the WM6 ROM. You will encounter ActiveSync problems as well if you continue to use your Prophet in this state.
If you are confused about how to do a real, proper Hard Reset...

since there is this nice tool which adds an alphabetic list on the right side of the contacs-app (i don't know the name of it, but i guess its from htc), but my new rom (Prophet Shadow Vista "My Edition" 2nd Edition) it won't work. It shows the large letter but my contact list doesn't jump to the corresponding entry. its the second rom i flashed which has this trouble. I'm having only Sim-entrys and a few msn-entrys, but that shouldn't be the point, or?
is there any fix or hint to solve this problem?

Did you Hard reset after flashing the ROM?
yes, i did that. with my last rom, shadow 1.0 vista, i worked well
I think you are referring to HTC Random Access. Download a copy from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1663828&postcount=3 and see if reinstalling it helps...
I've searched this and other forums for solutions (.cab and regedits), but none of them worked for me.
I'm trying to get PC Anywhere 12.5 mobile to run on a custom ROM on my VZW HTC Touch Pro. It works perfectly on the stock ROM, the "pre-release" linked in the stock section, Scott's "6.5 beta" post -- but I can't get the darn thing to properly work on any of Scott's 6.1 custom ROMs. It will install w/o errors just fine on the latter, but as soon as I reboot and try to run the program I get the dreaded "application cannot be found or not signed with a trusted certificate error."
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I´m having the same problem. I try everything that you can think.
My phone is a HTC Touch HD.
The strange thing is that my wife has an Sansumg Omnia with windows mobile 6.1, and I install PCAnywhere and works fine.

I'm also having an issue with pcAnywhere on my HTC Touch Pro.
It installs fine. However, when I go to connect to a host it sits there with a warning "Warning: Reducing encryption level." -- and it hangs. On the Host I can see the phone trying to connect, but it never makes it. I've tried changing the encryption level to none, tried adding encryption, made sure the phone (remote) and host match.. and nothing. It'll never connect.
The same version of pcAnywhere mobile (3.0.0 Build 123) works fine on my HP iPAQ and HTC Apache without any issues. I've also tried a newer build (from the pcAnywhere 12.5 CD) and I've come away with the same results.
If anyone has any ideas....

That sucks, as this is one of the programs that I actually did use. Hopefully someone will figure it out. I'd be willing to donate some $ to the cause.

Any news on these invalid cert. messages? I am having the same issue. Is there a way to turn off certificate on programs??? Wouldn't that be much simpler?

I had the same problem. At least for me, the fix was to delete all the files that were MFC80xxx.dll. Then I could reinstall this.
I posted this fix a long time ago, but for anyone that may need it again, the way to get this program to work (at least for me):
After install - reboot the device.
Then, look for all the MFC80xxx.DLL files
Rename them to MFC80xxx.dll - it is important that these are all lowercase (the .dll extension).
It should work indefinitely after that fix.
For whatever reason, when pcAnywhere installs, after initial use or after reboot all the MFC80xxx.dll files have a capital .DLL extension. This will make it so that they cannot be read correctly for any application (including my backup applications). But changing it to smaller case .dll works. If you are concerned, reboot and check if it is still in lower case. It should be, but if not, just rename it again - it should stay for good.

1. ADOCE had to be installed - otherwise the executable of the the app ****s up the executing.
2. installation of adoce is a bit tricky ... switch the OS-language (wm5 or 6 or 6.5) to englisch (british) if you use a foreign system. finally restart & install ADOCE. no matter if you switch back to your native language after installation.
3. start pocket radiologist - works but...
4. on the thc hd2 the font/character size is wrong. the toolbar/list which should be docked on the bottom of the screen floats about the half of it. trying to switch the screen to landscape with bsb tools doesnt work. I'm very sorry for this now!
5. Tried WVGA Fix 4 already - the characters' still far too big..."
Anyone's got an idea how to fix this character a/o resolution-problem?

I'm using the palm version on the palm emulator, works ok. the images are not great
this is interesting as i was just trying to install an older version (for wm5) but was having no luck. states it installs, but cannot find any evidence on the phone that it is there. did you a) install ADOCE and b) then transfer the pocketradiologist .exe and run it from the phone?

I did only the install procedure as described. first adoce, second the needed module. i installed it on main memory. execution after installation in that order made me no pain. i didn't transfer anything at all.
hope someone can solve the problem with this software...

WM: 6.5
Manilla: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM: 1.66.405.2
Radio: 2.06.51.07
My phone works perfectly. Out of nowhere, without having installed any new apps, without a soft reset, nothing at all.
When I click on any quicklink, or any app under the start menu, I get the following error:
"The file ?????? cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. If the problem persists try reinstalling or restorig the file"
??????? = the app or program I am trying to run.
This stops sense from loading. Only WM6.5 will run - without HTC sense.

Could be something to do with your SD card....
Have you got a link to something installed on your internal memory you can test...
I had somekind of sense failure once when I took the sd card while the phone was on and no matter what I tried I couldnt get it running....
I might be way off but Its all I can think of Im afraid.....
Re-install framework 3.5...
Had the same issue. first on a kaiser, and recently on my hd2....... what i did was reinstall the .net framework, ie first un install, then re install, and soft reset..... workd perfect.
i see this is an old post, but might come in handy any way.

I have the same problem. can not reinstall anything - "not signed" any other solutions??
Regarding sdcard - it do the same with non stock programs, which are running on internal storage, when there is no SD card inside.
It happened after unsuccessful run of android from SD card
any solutions??

I found the solution Special THANKS to JZ SmartMort
Following simple steps:
1) Download following file: http://www.internet-tools.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/sda_unlock.zip
From archive we need only SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe
It allows Registry to be edited from PC.
Run it with working Activesync connection
2) Download Mobile Registry Editor: http://www.zipsoft.ru/catalog/mobile_registry_editor-v1_11.html
Also run with working Activesync connection
3) and modify the following keys to the values listed.
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","0000101b","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001005","4 0")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","0000101a","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001001","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001017","2 4")
It perfectly worked with HD2, but I guess it should work with all WM devices.

Could you please explain to me what each of these policies values do, or maybe point me to the thread where I could find out?
I am able to install apps ok, but every time I install a cab, it gives me the
"This application is not from a certified/trusted source, yada yada yada"
message, and I have to choose 'yes' to confirm it and go ahead with the install, not a huge deal but it'd be nice to get around it if some of these will do it.
And when I reboot, especially from Android to WM, alot of the time I get an error from gAlarmReload.exe , even though it doesn't affect gAlarm at all, the alarms still work fine. I just wanna make the s/w security as lax as possible on my phone.
I guess I'm already app unlocked, because I can make registry changes no problem. I have installed sdkcerts and netcf3.5, and have done the reg change to ensure the phone is using 3.5 and not 2.whatever_it_is, among many other reg changes.
But I don't like to go changing reg values if I don't understand what they do, because I'm one of those set-everything-up-manually types, I don't like the backup prog's and I've done a bunch of tweaks already so a HR would kill me...
Thanks for reading my unneccessarily long post, I have Asperger's so I tend to overexplain everything to death, but I guess at least I'm thorough

This saved me heaps of figuring out how to do this.

after using sec config manager...i cannot sync with outlook by USB also wifi account exhange not working any help?

i have same problem with certification. And i have done with the registry values. but after a week, my phone goes slowly than ever.
I want change my registry value to normal. if any, would you please help me to write the original values of registry? i am using HTC touch pro 2 Rod 400 from US Cellular. Thank you.
