This is Hard-SPL for the G4; flashing procedure is essentially the same as G3 although do make sure that the filesize you flash is 0xC0000 rather than the 1MB that people flash for a G3.

This is one is the patched SPL file alone (the original). The other is the 'spoon feed' version meaning you just need to run a file once and all the job is done nice and easily...
PS:
One thing i find hard to understand is why this thread was made sticky a few minutes after being posted and the other two from The Equinox (sSPL and HardSPL), who are meant to be easy to handle and error proof for noobs weren't, even though they have proven to be of great help and acceptance.
Are we here for the good of all or is the status quo a relevant issue? (off the chest...sorry)

You can but you must first build a nk.nb file with it and also flash via RUU

Hard-SPL not working at all on my WIZ (T-Mobile MDA VARIO US G4) CID unlock impossible! Anybody an idea how to get it unlocked?
The spl flashing works fine and it even shows the olip spl when rebooting the wiz but afterwards everything remains the same - can't flash other roms!

Have you tried the Mun RUU in the Hard SPL posted in TS of the Hard SPL thread?

I have an extra 8125 laying around so I thought I would play with it. I applied your update and I am going to assume I can upgrade the 8125 to WM6 as long as the IPL and SPL doesnt change. I have looked at some other post on this site and there seems to be options in wich you can upgrade the IPL/SPL and still CID and SIM unlock the 8125. At the present with the solution from this thread I have the 8125 Sim unlocked.

With IPL/SPL 2.17.0001 and running NBD 9 series,which is a wm6 rom,it must have be upgraded through 'SoftSPL' method,now you can change the rom either with SoftSPL or if you want to get your phone semi-CID unlocked,you can apply 'HardSPL',it'll flash patched IPL/SPL to make it semi-CID unlocked,remember,a G4 device cannot be permanantly CID unlocked like a G3 phone,but you'll be able to flash any wm6 or 6.1 rom easily with HardSPL.
HardSPL method is done only once and after that you can flash and change rom easily,where as,with SoftSPL,you'll have to do the Flash every time through SoftSPL,but it doesn't change the original Bootloaders (IPL/SPL).
The choice is your !

Is there a way to determine my bootloader version? I see "info 1" on the bootloader FAQ, but it returns nothing.
I have a Softbank X01HT with the JASJAM_telstra_1.31.305.2_1.31.305.103_1.20.31.10_ship burned to it. I thought the CID was stored in the ROM flash so I upgraded from the previous JASJAM ROM. Now I cant downgrade apparently. I have a 1.06 Bootloader right?

I used the only unlocker at the time for the X01HT.
Whats weird is it says I have Bootloader 1.04 but I cant change from:
JASJAM_telstra_1.31.305.2_1.31.305.103_1.20.31.10_ship (supposed to be BL 1.06)
down to
JASJAM_WWE_1.20.305.3_1.20.305.104_1.07.03.10_ship
I was trying to downgrade to the 1.20 JASJAM to install EXT_ROM from Softbank.
When I couldn't downgrade I ran the IMEI-Check unlocker again. Maybe that changed my bootloader back down?
I will try to burn the Dopod ROM. That one has worked before.

Really weird because your device has Seclevel=0 and SuperCID, this is a developer device able to flash any ROM without restrictions.
Did you use v3 of imei-check unlocker?? Probably they changed this on v3...

I can confirm this. I was using Bootloader 1.06 from the Cingular ROM. I did previosuly use IMEI-CHECK V2 unlocker before upgrading to the Cingular ROM. Couldn't downgrade to other ROMS.
Have now re-unlocked again using IMEI-CHECK V3 unlocker and now can downgrade as it has reverted me to 1.04 bootloader:

I just moved to Tokyo and am going out today to by the softbank x01ht (at ~170$us, the gadget freak in me wont let me get something else that is bilingual)
Anyway I'm willing and minimially capable of paying and completing the imei unlocking process. I've only ever done pc and laptop flashing before so I may need a bit of a walk through on how to get this dump file your looking for.
I just have one quetion - if I unlock to a cid of supercid and security level 0, I understand that I can change my ROM to a nice user friendly English speaking ROM but will my hermes still work on my network (softbank) even though I will be operating a rom from another network in a different country.
Also is there an original sim/operator free ROM uploaded anywhere or is there any ROM you would recommend for me an english speaker on a japanese (softbank) network.
Thanks for any help you can provide. I'll do my best not too mess up the imei unlocking process dump in return.

All of the ROMS will work for Softbank as I have tried pretty much all of them by now. All of the files you need should be on this forum/wiki or linked from here.

That is bootloader mode. You have to connect via USB with MTTY to give it commands.

Only with a JTAG device. It's a special device that can access the chips without the need for the phone to be working. But nobody knows which are the JTAG pins so no luck here.
The IPL 1.xx is meant for the G3 DOC chip Wizards and G4 all have IPL/SPL starting at 2.xx.xxxxx. Since IPL is the firt bootloader with information and addresses for SPL and since they don't match you'll never get out of that situation...

Try..
(1) put the phone in bootloader mode
(2) flash it with cingular 1.x radio (search for it)
you should get a normal device in the end

I know O2 Atom is by Quanta and it uses CPLD (Complex programmble Logic Design!! I hope i remember this right).
this can't be compared at all, totally different technology. there is a whole separate section for the atom. just go to the forum root page and look for the atom.

Here is what you have to do:
- download any G4 rom from xda ftp
- unpack it
- replace the update tool from the WM6 one with the one from the G4 rom (when you will run it, it will be in italian)
- don`t worry about bricking your phone, it can only happen if you try to update your IPL/SPL and the WM6 ROM doesn`t include those upgrades.
(if your Wizard is CID-locked, after the upgrade, your OS will be the same one you had before the upgrade, if not, be happy) )
I can give a little help if you feel you can trust me.
Use a little program called pdocread.exe (by itsme) and read the bdk1 using the following command:
pdocread.exe -n 1 0 0x10000 [saved_filename] and then contact me via PM to send me the encrypted file so that i can read it and check the CID value. I must warn you that the resulting file will have your phone's IMEI in it.
For this program to work your phone must have RAPI and Unsigned Apps enabled
You could also use mtty.exe program to check the CID status by using the info 2 command

I managed to get a list with a lot of CID codes for different operators and will check your value (once i find the file ) but i also believe that your phone is indeed CID locked; sorry

Maybe wiorth getting it unlocked, but to be honest it was more of a wanting to know if it was or was not, know i know that i happy with what i got. Maybe an offical update will work when its released.

Yep, that CID is indeed from Cingular. Check with the file attached i extracted from some file i can't recall exactly which and where i got it...

A quick search around the forum would have shown you that it's not possible to CID unlock a G4 device for free.
Yours is a G4 and if you compare with my values from post #4 you can see that yours isn't CID unlocked

Yep, either with ShellTool or with my Wizard Service Tool that allows to flash the OS binary partition

Hi again, it´s done.
I did it with "QTEK Rom 2.18.7.8 AKU2 ESN + Radio 02.47.11 Con CID Bloqueado by jossma". It works great, and in spanish. I have to "repair" a little problem with keyboard.

I have tried a lot with different ROMs but ...i just wana weep .....i dono wat the hell is happening with all this....
some times wen the installation completes and everything looks fine as with Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2 it worked fine but when i checked the version of WM it says its same as before WM5. sometimes it completes the installation with e.g Xplore_1.1 but at the time of reboot it shoes bootloader screen (try color screen). then i re-install the original WM5 ROM and get my device back in action from that BRICKED HELL.
please help me out and tell me the right path to go on...
1- is it possible to upgrade this device to WM6?
2- if yes then what are the exact files and exact method to do all that?
3- I NEED IT URGENTLY.... I MEAN THE ANSWER.?

oh one thing more i have checked the CID lock the answer is:
SPL version is 2.26.0001
DOC chip is write-protected!!
Downgrade SPL to no higher than 1.06 and
repeat procedure.
Now Tell Me Wat to do????

Well all, i have resolved this problem. the reason was CID Locked. I used one tool to UNLOCK CID. Now everything works fine.

For free? that's not possible unless you're talking about HardSPL (which isn't a real CID unlocking...)

Which tool did you use? Because I used all the tools I know but couldn't unlock that G4 monster. I am going to the mental hospital if I don't find the solution in 24 hours,

Hold your horses here! if its a G4,it cannot be CID unlocked,there's no free solution for this,the only other way to get it upgraded is through 'HardSPL' or 'SoftSPL', both the methods are posted as stickies in this G4 forum,read and do it correctly.

hahahh. Yeh I managed it. Illusion is a dangerous enemy. My saying.
I am trying to upgrade my Wizard to WM6 with TouchFLO. I have been reading off and on and I don't know if the risk is worth it because this is my main phone. What is the safest way to go about doing this. What I got so far was doing a SoftSPL then loading the ROM with Wizard Service Tool I think?

Firstly, always have your stock ROM on hand, in case of any problem on flashing, you can always remove HardSPL and back to your original ROM.
If you're ready, then you can install HardSPL, then flash any WM6 ROM that you want (Note that the ROM must not contain IPL or SPL).
Read, read, and then read some more. SoftSPL or HardSPL matters little, but here's the difference:
If you want to flash your phone with WM6 ROMs again and again, then go with HardSPL.
If you want to flash back to original service provider ROM between flashes (more tedious, but safer), then just go with SoftSPL, since you'd have to remove HardSPL in order to flash back to an original ROM anyways.
Chances are, your phone is well beyond any warranty period, so I'd just make sure you have a [email protected]$$ backup phone to use if you kill your Wizard. I bought a pay-as-you-go phone as a backup for around $50.
FWIW, I recommend the TNT Professional ROM, after you've decided between SoftSPL and HardSPL
Yes my phone is beyond the warrenty period. It looks as if HardSPL is the better choice because once I flash it I doubt I would go back to the stock ROM. I can make a backup of my ROM with Wizard Tool correct?

Look towards the end of the guide,its clearly mentioned "G4 ONLY!"
G4 devices cannot be completely or permanently CID unlocked like G3,but they can be tricked into semi-Cid unlocked or temporarily through 'SoftSPL' or 'HardSPL'.
Yeah thats what I was missing about G4s not being able to be permantly CID unlocked. So I loaded TNT Professional on there, but I don't have TouchFLO and I get a few errors that pop-up when I soft reset. From what I read it sounds like I had a bad flash. I followed all the steps carefully though.
