Anyone know where I can get the Colonel Rom from? The ppcgeeks site is dead =( and was looking to flash my phone with the Oct10 Rom.

i am a registered used, and i've been tryin to get dcd's clean rom that he put up and it always time's out. i even tried a ftp program, but it says the user and pass is wrong
The site keeps timing out and Im only DL at 1-5kb I see he added another Rom today also.
Just hang tight. The posted roms are still for limited testing. I should have something decent by this weekend.

I am really sorry about that.
I was searching everywhere and i coudnt find it so i desided to post a quaetion..and then couple hours later i finally found all the info about unlocking the phone...but i couldnt delete this msg...

that seems like a waste to me since t-mobile has no HSDPA. might as well have got the wing

The phone was a present.....
I actually now have another problem..i dont know if i hould post it separatly somewhere...
I tried to change setting so MMS would work and i used the cab file i found on wiki link...I am just not sure if i am donig everything i need to do to make it work. I just trasfered that cab file to my phone and installed it...took approximatly couple seconds and my MMS still not working......
I would be very greatfull for any help....

T-mobile offers HSDPA here and is starting to offer HSDPA in the UK soon

I had the same problem with the 8525 using the stock ATT ROM and MMS. The only way i could make it work was to use a cooked rom(which you will like better anyways IMO). Make sure if you flash ur phone to use HardSPL to keep from bricking ur phone.

We've already got HSDPA, thankyouverymuch ;-)
What ROM are you running on the 8525? Have you upgraded it to WM6 or is still running the pre-installed cingular WM5 one?

umm and just forget the fact that it has 200mhz...vs. a 8525 a 400mhz...not the smartest comment lol

I had Nokia 9500 before that and this phone is slightly different.
WM and ROM info should appear when i am restarting the device?
I am pretty sure i had WM5,but i am not sure....
Just go into Start --> Settings --> System --> About and that will tell you what OS it is running

This is my first ever custom rom that I am sharing. I used Dogguys kitchen with the leaked sprint rom and some customizations from DCD's Kitchen to create this. Let me know if you find any bugs or if you want anything added/removed and I will see what I can do.
Directions:
If you've already upgraded to any GPS enabled rom just drop the file in the Rom Update utility and flash away, otherwise the same directions posted for the other GPS enabled roms apply, you must install Hard-Spl 2.40 and the 3.27 radio.
Note: This is not packaged like other posters roms, I don't know how to do that yet.

When you say it isn't packaged, what comes in it? Does it even have office or anything else? Can you use an mp3 or mp4 as a custom ringtone? Does the EVDO icon come on? Is everything working fine in it for a TELUS customer like us?
I flashed back to default because I loved gps, but wasn't ready to stay with it with those issues.
If they work, I'll use it.

By not packaged I mean it doesn't come in a nice little self extracting file.
You can use whatever windows mobile supports for ringtones
EVDO icon does come on and everyitng is working fine for me. It is basically the same experience as the offical Telus with GPS (excep it would have all the fixes that the sprint rom provides like bluetooth and alarm issues.

We need more of em ! Not that i'm saying DCD's kitchen is bad or anything. It is nice to have a mix of choices....
But I find the leaked rom a little buggy ?

that could be because the leaked rom is still just a beta rom, not fully done this was just supposed to be released to official testers afaik. But maybe they leaked the rom on purpose so we could find more bugs?

How's the rom working out?

As I have the VZW unit and no official release for rollback to 2.09/1.30.60 is on the utstar.com page, I was wondering about just backing up what I have in my unit now before taking the plunge, or a new unit out of box from the store ? Blazingwolf stated in a post somewhere recently that the stock ROM images floating around here are from dumped units, and this makes sense because there has not been any upgrade issued since they came out. Sprint has it available only because of the 2.17 debockle. So, it seems to me that the best way for one to be sure they can roll back to their stock config is to dump their own ROM before they start. Anyone have such utility ?????? Thanks.

It's a complete Ship ROM for the XV6800 which means you can "rollback" if things go wrong with custom ROM's.

See the point of what I would like to be able to do is to extract the ENTIRE memory map of my device so that when I am done playing I can just dump my stock, but configured with all my software and voice and all stuff I put in it, back in it. This would be cool would it not ???? Sort of 'have your cake and eat it too' because you can play then put it exactly back ;-)

I'm giving up on WM6 because of the missing DUN (and a T9 bug).
I have another 3125 with the original ROM in it.
Is there a way that I can back up that ROM to my PC and install it to "upgraded" phone?
If not, is the original ROM available anywhere? I've been googling for two days and nothing. The closest thing is the AKU 3.4 from HTC which is missing DUN as well.
I've tried the WM6_BT_DUN cab file and that didn't help.

Thanks lewnetoons, I saw that ROM on the wiki, but I'm under the impression this is the DUNless version of WM5. Am I wrong?

OK, I tried this ROM and there is no DUN just PAN.
Now how about a way to backup the whole ROM from a phone to install it in another phone?

Thanks lewnetoons, I couldn't find this file, but I ended up switching phones with my wife and now I'm back with DUN. Pain in the butt, but a solution nonetheless.
Much appreciated. i get avereage of 2 bars on my signal strength. i can barely download anything over 1mb from web or market. im running on the plainjane t2 rom. doesnt this mean i need a radio update?

Sorry guys :/ I looked for 30 minutes everywhere, google seems to have taken down the link, I cant find it anywhere; maybe itll surface in a few days. If you want a stock-ish 2.1 rom look at PlainJane or Ivans_Official ROM in Android Development for the Eris.
Also iflip go find a good rom that has more features i recommend evil eris or any CM6 roms

I am trying to make an ODEX'd ROM with the July OTA. I'm sick of De-Odex'd ROMs. I have no space in /data. It stinks.
Either way, I can't find the De-Odex'd version of the July OTA (original .zip) to incorporate all the new .apk's and so on.
Google is yielding 0 useful results.
i accidentally formatted my storage drive yesterday and lost all of my roms/patches/updates i had been storing, but i have everything until about kaos froyo v3 backed up. But un fortunately for you the MR4 came out after that =( so if you get a valid link let me know please thanks =)
