Hi
ANyone have WM5 or WM6 for this devices?
Thanks

I own a hp ipaq 4150 and managed to run Windows 98 on it with some help from my friends. But i can guarantee there wont be WM5 / WM6 for the 4150 cuz this model is like 3 years old and there isn't enough ROM memory to store a WM5 / WM6 ROM image.

Really, I will be amazed at what some people can do, I have a motorola MXP200 first windows mobile phone and now I have WM6 on it thanks to the people here, is uses the SD card ram to built the OS. Only bad thing was the battery didn't last very long.

LOL yeah its a big Innovation especially when someone can run the latest WM6 smartphone ROM on a 4 years old outdated device.
When i ran Windows on my pocket pc, I remember with the help of several hackers, they used sth like a bosch emulator to get Windows 98 running. But booting up takes like 10 minutes

is it really possible to have wm5 on hp ipaq 4150????
if yes then from where i can have this ????

holy cow, did you not read a single post in this thread?

why don't you try it...you can always revert back or vice versa with no probs at all...
you can also back-up your original rom if you want too...
hehehe...search here all the topic rgding wm4 and wm5...
conclusion(my opinion)...if you are a heavy 3rd party application user, wm5 not your place...not yet until our genius people here got a full or a 90% bugs solution for it...
thanks...

Hacking the HP rw6828 for use with XDA Atom upgrade - accomplished!

Although everyone (if not most of us) by now has known that the HP rw6828 is a rebadged XDA ATOM. Apparently, this device, though slower than our current AKU3.3 ROMs seem to have a newer set of device drivers.
These device drivers are essential in the upgrade of our ROMs. Should we wish to port WM6 into our Atom, we will need the most up to date device drivers.
Unfortunately, we couldn't hack the lock on HP Official ROM. So, we though that if some generous soul with access to an HP rw6828 can dump the ROM from the device to an SD Card. This would be a lot of help!!!
Also, if someone knows how to decrypt the official ROM... this would even be better!

this is not possible because HP has placed a lock on you RUU. If we try to trick it to use Atom bootloader, it will check CRC. Are you willing to try??? I will make an ATOM bootloader for your HP. BUT there is a big RISK on this.

give me a couple of days. I need to work on it. The Atom has an extended partition unlike the HP which has NOT. There are applications that need to be migrated to work on your device IF the bootloader that I am going to prepare for you will work.
Just keep posted on this thread.

PS: there is already a AKU2.6 for the HP in the official website. You can try that while waiting.

testing
Has this got to testing yet and if so hows it all going. Have problems with my rw6828 not connecting to certain Symbol access points seems this is a known issuse between WM5 and Symbol
Wanting to test another image for it to see how i get on.
rx6828 wait wait wait atom rom
hope my rx6828 can use atom exec rom.....
if can use atom life wm6 is bonus!!!!
wait wait wait
reply
But waiting takes so long
I would say there seems to be some misunderstanding within the HP community..... The idea of hacking the HP rom was infact not to benefit any HP user, rather to benefit the Atom with the latest device drivers in hope of using these drivers within the WM6 or Crossbow upgrade. However it seems HP device drivers cannot be used for the Atom (so far anyway) therefore I seriously doubt any cooked or custom rom for HP, unless jiggs can somehow swing it almost blindfolded as he doesnt use the HP.

What is RUU?
Since HP rw6828 and Atom is identical in hardware, is it possible to erase the whole rw6828 ROM and replace it with Atom ROM? What's preventing it? Anyway to hack this protection?

RUU- Rom Upgrade Utility
The bootloaders for Atom and HP is not identical. You need the Upgrade/Update Utility to put the ROM into your device. BUT, the RUU in hp checks each file component (radio, ROM, bootloader update, etc.) prior to flashing it to the device. Unlike the Atom DSUU, which checks only the filename and flashes it to the device.
To hack it is to unsign it. Well, someone has to do it. I can't.
jiggs
another way to get HP's firmwire is dumping whole ROM using pmemdump from itsutils

Read the wiki, and through a bunch of the threads here in the forums, there is a bit more to it than just running a program. Unless your just upgrading to the factory shipped rom.
You don't want to brick your phone! If your having troubles now, just imagine how it will be if your phone doesn't work at all!

[Q] How to downgrade TG01 - help me please!

Hi All!
I am not very in with all these smartphone innovations and wm-world but i am trying to get in touch. So my problem is that i would like to run the "zeno" usb-keybord driver but it doesent work on my toshiba tg01 with windows mobile 6,5 professional (phone is bought in germany from o2). after i was researching the net for coupple of days i saw that non of the people who was running it on 6,5 had the stock rom.... but i do and i have absolutely no idea how to change that thing. I read aswell that it normally doesnt work on 6,5. So i decided to downgrade - but that is not easier for me. I hope you will excuse me for my maybe idiotic questions but i really have the good will to learn - i allready learned and did a hard reset on my tg01 . So my questions are:
1. How do I downgrade to 6,1 from 6,5 professional?
2. If i have to change the ROM - how do I do it without bricking the phone?
3. Is there any other way to plug an external usb keyboard to my tg01?
Thank you!

Please help in downgrading TG01
Hi all. I'm quite new to all these smartphones.
I wish to perform some data acquisition using TG01 but the software of data acquisition can only support up to Windows Mobile 6.0. Can I know any ways to downgrade my current OS (WM 6.5 Pro) to WM 6.0? Is it possible to downgrade it?
Thank you.

There is no way to downgrade further than WM 6.1, and even then, you cannot downgrade to official 6.1 rom as there isn't one available unless i am mistaken, what you could do is try and flash a WM 6.1 custom rom from Miro or Ferapont, these are the latest 6.1 roms available.

It is fairly unusual for software to completely fail to work on a higher version WM OS, though sometimes may have some slightly odd video effects. Can I just ask whether you have proven it doesn't work or are going by the stated compatibility ?
If not, then I'd definitely recommend giving it a try with WM 6.5 first and see what happens. You may get a pleasant surprise.........
Regards,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
I had tried to connect the phone to the software at PC but the software seems couldn't recognise the device.
Too bad. I'll try to find other alternative.
Anyway, thanks for your advice.
