I currently have a TMobile Pocket pc phone edition that i recently installed the WM2003 upgrade on, i love it.
Now i hear that there are XDA2 devices out, which sound like better, faster devices. I asked TMobile, and they say that as long as the phone supports GSM 1900 and can be unlocked to use any SIM card, switching phones is a piece of cake.
So i guess my question is, has anyone tried this? I would like to get a O2 XDA2 over the M1000. Has anyone gotten them to work on the TMobile network here in the USA? I'd hate to spend the money on the device and not have it work. Or would it be better if i wait for some (needed?) ROM upgrades?
Thanks a lot =)
Edit: Okay so i didnt type in the right keywords into google the first time. User review here basically answers all my questions:
O2 review at mobilefly.com
BT has discontinued the Movio service due to poor takeup and handset choice, as well as the unwillingness from networks other than Virgin UK to use DAB as their mobile TV standard.
So the quick question is- does this mean the the Virgin Lobster DAB service will stop?
Well, Virgin have confirmed that their DAB-IP service stops next year, so I've answered my own question!

4 mouths old
you will still get dab radio just not tv
has anyone been using their lobster for dab radio recently? mine hasn't been picking up any signals?
TBH I haven't ever listened to the radio on my lobby.
However, just to test I tried this morning and Radio 2 was fine.
HTH
I just sent myself a picture message from a picture i took and when I recieved it the picture was kinda small and very very pixelated and choppy. Is there a way to adjust some settings to fix this?
Theres already a thread about the MMS issue somewhere in these forums. Seems to be the network scaling them down before sending/receiving.
K searched the forum but didn't find it so there's no solution then I guess

Nothing I'm aware of, but the issue didnt seem to be with T-Mobile, it was with o2 (UK), so your issue may be fixable
I'm on o2 and have this problem. Please post if you find a fix!
I found the thread in question here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546024
Looks like we need to find a way of editing certain hidden settings in the Hero to make network's servers think it's a recognised phone.
Just maybe this issue will fix itself for O2 customers seeing as they now offer the Samsung Galaxy i7500 running on Android...
just read that thread and it seems to be an O2 problem but im with T-mobile in the US would it be because they dont sell this phone for t-mobile in the us either?
It's not just an O2 problem, it should be the case on most/all networks who don't supply the Hero, including T-Mobile USA. The server defaults to the minimum resolution to ensure greatest compatibility.
We just need a way of either getting them to add the Hero to their mms server device list (unlikely!), or find a way to hack Android to report as an N95 or similar. The Windows Mobile people seem to have suceeded using this method.

Yup, and there will be a way, it just needs some clever **** to work it out.
Has anyone tried tvcatchup, not the mobile site. I load the channel and then enable the flash but nothing happens, eventually crashes the browser....
Just tried it here and the website and video loads fine (tested with BBC1), even over a HSPA signal, have you tried updating flash on your phone? The SGS2 ships with flash 10.1 but there is a 10.2 version on the market (but it doesn't show up in the My Downloads part of the market, you have to search for it).

hum.. doesn't work, I have flash 10.2 too... any suggestions?
Could it be your network blocking the stream? have you tried it while connected via wifi on a connection you know works?
using wifi and works fine on my Nexus S with the same wifi network...
Mine is a o2 branded payg model, would make any difference?
O2 block streaming video, as do all UK networks apart from 3 and Vodafone, so I'm afraid no iplayer for you either.
Im on 3 and loving the quick, unrestricted network
Tried it a few times during the night on my o2 branded and locked s2 with a simplicity SIM in, worked really well, you shouldn't be having problems over wifi though.
works ok with me,watching SpongeBob lol on iTv
Sorry to bump an old thread.
I've recently switched from an iPhone where I used to use iphone.tvcatchup.com ... but this doesn't work on the SGSII. Following the advice above, I managed to get the full site working over Wifi connection.
BUT .... if I try m.tvcatchup.com ... after selecting a channel, it asks if I want HQ or LQ stream. whichever I select, the channel is fuzzy and blocky. Totally unwatchable. (This is still via wifi at present)
Any ideas?

It works on Orange as well.
Incidentally, iPlayer doesn't work on any network. It only works on wifi.
I'm on three UK with unlimited internet and can confirm there are no restriction on tvcatchup.
Long may it last
Using tv catchup on vodafone
worked fine up to yesterday (use it everyday) - now its just a black screen (ive cleared all data/cache etc, uninstalled and re-installed etc)
dont use it now...gone back to web browsing
im on 3 too, no problems at all.
Anyone on o2 you are going to pay the price, simply because o2 just dont allow you the bandwidth to use such apps, how much data do they give these days, is it a gig or something.
Get on 3, you wouldnt regret it.

just how far down the forum were you looking to bump a year old thread with the last post being 9 months ago?
Be different if you were asking if there was a problem still but to bump it just to answer a yr old question????

maybe try the official release from the play store, you might have more luck
I had the skewed picture previously and found out it was something to do with the streaming media player on an older ROM
i'm on O2 in the UK and tv catchup works sweet for me....
Yep works for me...even on Jelly Bean ROMs!

I use the Titan radio around town, but it seems a bit too static-ey. I keep getting this static noise on almost every radio channel. Does anyone have this same problem that most radio channels keep going bad ?
Also, can it just possible be my own earbuds problem since the Titan uses built in radio through your headphones for the signal? Possibly I have crappy earbuds or something idk please answer!
I got my Titan 4 days ago and tried the Radio and had the same results as you. So this could be an issue. The Radio was never a selling point for ne, my HD2 had a similar problem. Has anyone else the same experiences?
Yeah see? I don't know why it does that, is it the crappy built in radio in the phone ITSELF? or is it my earbuds :?
