Hi guys, I'm pretty new to "flash" I did my first one about 3 days ago with the Black Satin. I want to flash my radio to the version 1.54, if I flash only the radio did it flash everything and reset my TyTN (hard reset) or it flash only the radio ?
Thanks
If you only flash the radio, you only flash the radio. No data loss is done
Thanks !
Since I'm starting in flashing things, I don't want to mess things up to soon.

If you're that new to flashing, did you flash Olipro's HardSPL first?
Flashing radios is more prone to damage your phone than flashing OS only and HardSPL can often help you recover from a problem (such as power failure during flash etc).
HI, I've followed the Mr Vanx guide to flash my device. I've flash my radio last night and everything went fine.
Related
ok... I think this is necessary since so many people have flashed Hard-SPL and have bricked their phones and don't know how to recover.
Well firstly, well done for actually bothering to flash Hard-SPL, you're safe!
firstly though, if you're not seeing SPL-1.30.Olipro then please first go to the Hard-SPL thread and update to Hard-SPL-1.30 (remember you will need to click 1.11, don't choose SSPL)
after you're onto 1.30, then you may recover by flashing a full ROM to your phone; this can be a retail one with a radio, or one of the full-version WM6 ROMs, but remember, whatever you flash MUST use CustomRUU so that you can select 1.11 from it when you recover.
So easy that a caveman can do it!
Thanks for writing and releasing a great bootloader along with CustomRUU
Bill
While using Hard-SPL, Flashing off of the storage card is still a easy and safe method. You have got to love the Hard-SPL. I just got my rom chip replaced on my X01HT today. So the first thing I did was put on the new version of Hard-SPL.......ahhh no more nightmares. Thanks Olipro

just as what you said in Hard-SPL thread,"TO FLASH THE NEW Hard-SPL, Select Force-SPL, you should only choose otherwise when recovering your device from an old Hard-SPL version!" ,i am puzzled.

if your PDA works... you're supposed to use SSPL, if your PDA is buggered, you don't because you can't.
how can i flash hard-spl when i'm stuck on the bootloader screen and my computer won't see my device connected through usb...
Hi to everybody.
I have an Hermes 200 Vodaphone VPA compact 2 v1605.
I wanna put into this pda the latest Schap's 4.31 ROM.
I have done the mrVanx procedure and I have successfully installed the 2.10 Hard-SPL-V7.
Now I wiil explain my two problems:
- I don't know if my pda is CID unlocked or not... With the HardSpl flashed on my pda, should I be scared about that or not?
I think HardSPL turn my pda into supercid... right?
- If ROM flashing procedure will be stopped by a pc crash, I can unbrick my pda easily? In wich way?
Should I use the mrVanx guide to flash pda or I follow microsd guide?
Many thanks
I should have read the wiki. Either way, and since nobody helped me when i needed and i had to find it all by myself, i know how frustrating it might be. So ill give u hand.
First go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665
Download that tool that will superCID ur phone and Hard SPL it automatically. Pay attention to every step.
After that, and since the hard spl installed by that tool is rather old, go here:
http://www.mrvanx.org/thg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=26
In the middle of that tuturial u will find the link to the mostly used version of hard spl and how to update ur rom to one of the cooked ones around here.
Soz if my english aint perfect but im not english nor american though.^^
Thanx for reply. But i think you haven't understand my question.
I think my pda is already SuperCID because i have installed the 2.10 HardSPL.
Somewhere in this forum or in the wiki i found that if I flash my pda with 2.10 HardSPL I don't have to use unlocker because this version allow SUPERCID mode.
Am I wrong???
My pda is also already sim unlocked. Infact it is Vodofane (english or german) but i can use TIM italian sim card without problems.
Now my question is:
If I write the schap's ROM with SD procedure, should I scared about RADIO ROM damage?
I found that schap's ROM doesn't modify RADIO, right?
..so i think that SD procedure is the safer way.
Thanks
Not really, most if not all cooked roms DON'T have the radio rom cooked in as there is no perfect rom for everyone, its carrier compliant. Just because a new radio rom comes out doesn't mean its going to improve your reception or battery life, sometimes it causes problems, hence the chefs give you the option of what radio to use.
Now, Hard SPL is only a safety net, things can still go wrong but if they do there is a load of information on how to fix it, ESPECIALLY if you've installed Hard SPL. Make sure its version 7 so the spl reads as 2.10 olipro when you enter bootloader (power button, ok button above flywheel and reset with stylus, hold in until you get to tricolour screen). Just soft reset with stylus to get out.
Personally, as you have Hard SPL, I'd use the sd card method to flash your os. Its on the forum MANY times over. A quick search should find it. VERY EASY and, I believe, safer than using the pc. Just make sure the battery is charged.
Hope this helps....
Cheers....

The guide on MrVanx page does not have the images. Is thare a copy of it somewhere with the full ilustrations?
Thanks.
Yes i have HardSPL v7 2.10 installed on my pda.
This mean I'm in supercid mode and I'm able to flash any rom. right?
I haven't to use the sim cid unlcker, right?
I haven't understand this:
At the moment I don't want to change my RADIO ROM.
Latest schap's ROM doesn't modify RADIO so my radio ROM remain the same. Is this true?
If I flash schap's ROM should I to flash a RADIO ROM that works with schap's one? Or does my RADIO continue to work?

I have a brand new hermes since last week and i passed a lot of blocking and stucking in the bootloader. However, the first ROM i installed was Schaps one and on that time i didn't even have my phone Hard SPL'ed or SuperCID'ed! I used that tool of SSPL. But if u say ur phone is already Hard SPL you will have no problems installing the schaps rom. In addition, the RADIO ROM will not be modified with his rom. I must say that besides his ROM was installed perfectly, there are some other cooked ROMs that require your phone to be SuperCID'ed.
Thanks for your reply.
the RADIO ROM will not be modified with his rom

Is this a good thing or bad one?
I mean: my pda now has no problem about RADIO and I don't want to change nothing about RADIO ROM.
If i flash schap's ROM the pda continue to work well with my RADIO? or the schap's ROM work well with some RADIO ROM an bad with other.
Thanks
You won't change your radio rom and yes it will still work with ANY rom you use (as long as its for the Hermes).
ok!!!
Now it's time to flash.
Thanks a lot!!

In your signature i found that you use a CRC's ROM.
Also crc's rom doesn't modify RADIO and can work well on my pda?

It works good on mine. And no, it doesnt modify your ROM.
As stated before, the chefs tend to let YOU decide what radio to use... There is no perfect radio rom and location/carrier seems to determine what is the best radio for you.
Cheers...
I put the rom in microsd renamed in HERMIMG.nbh
I start the bootloader withe ok + power + stylus but the flash procedure doesn't start. I have only the bootloader screen with 4 rows:
RED HERM200
IPL-1.04
HERM200
SPL-2.10 OLIPRO
GREEN
BLUE
WHITE SERIAL
what's the matter?
p.s.
I'm using a 2g sandisk
with 1gb microsd sandisk it works!!
Flash successfull!!
Thanks to everybody
sfrangebob, it should work with a 2gb too, It needs to formatted fat32 though.
Congrats and welcome to the wide world of Phone upgrading...
DISCLAIMER - Phone flashing can be addictive....
I know.. I formatted it many times but the flashing operation doesn't start.
With 1 gb it starts on the first attempt.
ahah flash addciction
I flashed my phone under the instruction of another site so I'm not exactly sure how to troubleshoot with the wiki here.
I flashed my phone from 3.35 to the new stock 3.56 rom with no problems. I then unlocked my phone and proceeded to flash the kaos f*** sprint take 3 rom. Everything went fine but the phone resets every time i get to the calibrating screen after bootup.
I've found out that the problem is that I unlocked with the 1.20 olipro bootloader instead of the 2.40. I followed some advice and tried to flash to a stock rom, but whenever the progress bar reaches 11% the phones resets back to the bootloader screen and the RUU says error and wants me to do recovery. I've tried with both 3.35 and 3.56 stock roms multiple times but the same thing happens.
I also tried flashing the stock roms via SD but it says:
TITAIMG.nbh - FAIL
BOOTLOADER - OK
SPLASH1 - OK
SPLASH2 - OK
EXTROM - OK
OS -
Update Terminate
UPDATE FAIL
the progress bar on the bottom looks to be at around 11% as well
Can anyone help please?
According to the stock rom wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanStockHome), you need to relock the phone first if going back to a stock rom
I would suggest going back to the stock rom first and then following the instructions to flash to a cooked rom, using the correct bootloader

No re lock is needed you have to flash a stock pre GPS rom.....then unlock with 2.4 or 2.47.....then flash a custom rom of your choice....
Ok... I'm all good to go now! FINALLY!
flashed the stock sprint 2.17 rom
unlocked using olipro 2.40 bootloader
flashed the stock sprint 3.56 rom
flashed to custom rom

My first time flashing a CDMA phone and I've got exactly the same problem. Can you please confirm that you didn't have to re-lock before flashing back to the stock ROM. Mine is Verizon, BTW. Also appreciate any others' advice regarding this matter. TIA.

Thank you for your help. I have successfully flashed the phone back to the non-GPS Verizon stock ROM, then I flashed the bootloader to 2.4 without any problem. But after flashing the phone to dcd's 3.2.5 ROM, I've got stuck at the Verizon splash screen, although I have tried to hard-reset after the flashing process already. Can somebody please suggest a resolution for this to work. I have flashed many GSM phones before but CDMA might be a little trickier.
Also, this VX6800 is a brand-new phone which has not yet been initial programmed with the carrier, would it be the cause? My apology for being such a noob. Thank you all for the inputs.

Pull the battery for about 30 seconds then hard reset....
If that does not work flash a stock gps rom and then flash DCD after that...either one should do the trick.....(sorry I should have added this before wasn't thinking)

Hey guys I desperatly need help.
It was my first time flashing my titan yesterday to dvd 3.3.4 and I'm stuck on the carrier screen because I didn't update my radio before flashing.
D 3.3.4
R 1.32.00
because I didn't update my radio first, I now have mismatched rom and radio. What do I do now to avoid bricking my phone?
Can I reinstall my original Telus rom? Can I install a rom that's compatible with the stock radio 1.32.00?

You can flash the radio via sd and it should boot. You have unlocked first with spl 2.40 or 2.47????
press the camera + power+ reset at same time to enter bootmood. This wil allow you to start over.

Haha, there is no start over. He now has that rom no matter how many times he enters bootloader.
Anywho, did you unlock? If so.. Just go into bootloader, and flash via a SD card with the correct radio. You will be fine. You might have to hard reset a couple times, but it will boot.

Okay Now I KNow Im New So Plz Dont Flame. I Tried Searching But Couldnt Find A How To. Once I Flash the new rom the phone will automatically reset but i get stuck at the new splash screen.i was told i should probably install a new radio rom. which i have. but i dont know how to flash just the gps. anybody help please.
You must install by sd method
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33857
Okay, lets start from the top. Did you flash it with a new SPL first? What ROM did you use? And what radio did you use? If you don't have the correct radio, a reboot loop will occur, which means you just need to flash it with a GPS enabled radio like the newer 3.42.50. That will overwrite your current radio and bring you back to speed.
are you saying the only way to flash the radio is to use the sd card?

Probably a bad flash. Flash the ROM again. If your phone is unlocked with spc code all zeros and you have olipro 2.40 bootloader and GPS radio 3.35 and up you should have no problems with Custom Titan ROMs. After you re-flash hard reset and pull the battery for a couple minutes.
