I tryed multiple WM6 ROMS (Crystal 4 & Fantastic B4) and still have regularly the same issue:either when device is in my pocket (multiple times in a day , device locked) or sometime when doing a USB connection to my laptop : Prophet unexpectedly power off.., no message , no bip.. just power off...
I really did not identify the root cause of this behaviour...
Any help would be very appreciated...
I'm using WM6 from the earliest ROM's till now, following the forum about them very close. I don't experienced or red about this problem before.
So, two things: have you flashed back to WM5 to make sure your problem is WM6 related? And, if you have: provide some more explicited details, anything out of the ordinairy installed? Anything that can give us a clue.
If you want help, state your problem. We cant look into your device, can we?

yes I followed carrefully downgrade instructions to WM5 before flashing to any WM6.
Power settings : On battery power : "Turn Off device in note used for..." disabled
scenario 1:
Juste take the device & lock it
eventual quick push on the power button to swith off
put it a the pocket : get it back a few minutes later : powered off
scenario 2:
take the device unlocked and just make a USB connection for Active Sync : one time immediate power off , once not...
scenarion 3 (once so far)
Switch on wifi , establish connection and ...device power off...
current ROM is Crystal 4 where I then removed addons for tests.
When I keep Power off button pressed I have the warning message before powering off.
don't have the issue with WM5.
Any configuration or WM6 behaviour I missed ? No idea so far on the root cause...still searching..
any help or same issue experiences sharing very appreciated...

But unfortunally, I still cant explain... Ofcourse I will report if I figure it out or have some kind of brainwave. In the meanwhile perhaps somebody else recognizes this fenomena.

I think I have done a mistake.... I tried to upgrade my S200 from 2.15... to the v4.0.0.0.5 cross ! At first I've updated it with 'Prophet_PV_Temp' and it was successful so I've been in the step 2 : 'Prophet_PDAViet_4.0.0.0.5_Cross'. I though that it was successful so I unplugged my USB.... and it was not finished !!!!! And now my S200 wouldn't start properly, and it's stucked in the second screen which I can read :
IPL 2.10.0001
SPL 2.15.0001
GSM 02.30.21
0S 4.0.0.0 and I think it should be OS 4.0.0.0.5 !!
How can I do to fix it? I don't want to put it in a trashbin... HELP HELP HEL¨P

Don't panic; do a hard-reset to your phone again (holding the camera key + comm key in the side together AND stick the hole in the bottom of the phone, while keeping the 2 keys held, until you see the screen shows some words); and repeat steps 1 and 2 altogether.

I've done it many times but it still stucked.... Have you got any ideas?
Oh dear! I seem to have managed to do this too. Unfortunately in the middle of doing step 2 of the pdamobiz upgrade, my brother managed to kick the usb lead out of my laptop, disconnecting my m600 prophet!
I have tried the above steps & hard reset, but the phone is still stuck at the boot up screen as described above. I can't sync with my laptop again in order to run the AKU2 update, coz activesync wont recognise a device attached while it's stuck at the boot screen.
Is my phone now a rather expensive paperweight/weapon with which to bludgeon my brother?

sometimes it just takes a couple tries. let it sit for a while and do it again. i know i have had to do this a couple times in the past and just now it happened with my jamin so im reflashing it a second time. it just happens.

First of all I want to let you know that I did search the forum for a solution. In fact, I found a lot of workarounds but none of them actually worked.
Let me give some details about my problem: My Hermes was working fine. I was running the official WM6 ROM supplied by HTC, so no customized ROM here.
It was going fine until the WM frozed. Then I soft reset the device and after that I never got cellular signal again.
While booting the device I got the message: "no GSM".
First thing I tried was to flash a new radio ROM. In all the attempts the progress bar never moved from 0% and after a while I got the communication problem error.
Then I tried flashing a whole ROM. This time the progress bar stopped at 81%. Apparently in the first 81% it flashes the OS and in the last 19% it writes the radio. Anyway, I tried this a few times and never finished.
In fact, after every communication error message I got stuck in the bootloader screen.
The only thing that works is to flash a ROM WITHOUT the radio!!
Is there anything I can do to save my phone or am I condemned to use my Hermes as a phone-less pda?
I tried everything I found in the wiki/forums, but I couldn't find a working solution.
I suspect that the blocks of memory where the radio data reside got corrupted, could that be possible?
PLEASE HELP!

A similar thing happen to me several months ago. While on a call my phone froze and when I soft-reset it the dreaded 'No GSM' issue appeared. I tried flashing radios/full roms/etc, but nothing worked. I ended up sending my phone to the htc repair facility and they fixed it at no cost. (Other than not having a phone for ~10 days)

Hi, there! I found that a lot of us who have bricked our Hermes, don't have a responsive radio bootloader, so when they try to flash a full rom, the progress bar hangs to 13%, or 81%. This is because at that time the flasher is trying to enter the radio bootloader, but because it's corrupted, it hangs. Till today there is no known solution to this one. I'm far away from England where I bought my Hermes, so I'm not thinking to send it back for repair. I'm a programmer, so my knowledge may be usefull here. The first thing I must know is if i can use the "lnb" command without being SuperCID. I mean if there is something like a Hard-SPL with an "lnb" command - (or renamed for security reasons). Maybe there is hope!
How can I try that?

You can use 'lnb' in HardSPL without having a real SuperCID; however you will not be able to flash a radio with 'lnb' command. The radio chipset has its own bootloader, the and the SPL just acts as a pass-through sending the data directly to radio chipset through the s2410 UART.
I had one device with non-responsive htc_boot and tried all kinds of SPL patches to flash htc_boot again on radio, without success. The only known method to fix this is to take the BGA chip out with hot air and reflash it with special hardware, as it is not common to have this equipment at home, your only option is to send it somewhere to do it for you.
However, I don't want to discourage you to research on it, maybe you find something i didn't

I also have a NO GSM and corrupted CID but I can access KITL and use it with PB 5.0. and I followed this steps here but the phone doesnt boot completely. It stops just after the two boot screens on Black WM6 ending on a white screen and the debug window on PB after loading all sort of things begin showing these lines over and over:

I sent it to the HTC service center in Texas, US.
I just got my replacement from ATT.. Had the same problem. Its a hardware problem.. I wouldnt waste anymore of your time.

My hernes use to be the same as you 'NoGSM'.I tried to install the official rom,but it 's not work at all.I called to service center ask this problem,so they said that it must be only changed the mainboard. That 's terrible!!!

That only works with phones with KITL...which I don't seem to have.

No GSM but when sim inserted
Hi all, First sorry for my bad english.
I also have 2 bricked Tytn Hermes 200. Its not my personal ones Its my company's property, which pple were using this phones. So i'm facin with problem which many pple here having but with exception. both phones having no gsm error when sim inserted but without sim its fine. In other words , device info showing every info including IMEI when sim unavailable. And some times works with sim but after making few call and receiving phone hangs(not system) and goes off from network but anthena signal still showing few bars. I'm thinking maybe the radio hangs totally and goes off, and after soft restart NO GSM. I also tried many flashing upgrading those things nothing can really help me.
When im flashing original rom from HTC (the latest one HTC_TyTN_WWE_3.54.255.3_6275_1.48.00.10_108) its hanging on 12% and doing 3 or 4 times recovery , but its finishes succesfully. So what exactly happening in 12th%?. Maybe its started flashing radio and stopped on bad block ? But then why its finishes succesfully after few retry?. Ok so if any one wants to experiments on the phones except radio welcome. I'll help. And some can give me quick example of how to check bad blocks?.

anyway, i'm not sure if KITL is dependend on the ROM version. because when my device was in NO GSM status, SPL is 1.04, HTC bootloader is 0108, and lost SuperCID. Because of my device is still has SPL 1.04, i was able to load WM5 full ROM upgrade using WWE HTC English QTEK_001 2.05.255.1 01/17/07 version (ROM available on this site under HERMES Upgrade link), run it twice. once you have successful load the WM5 ROM then try to do step #1 or #2 above to get KITL USB display on your screen device.
Note: i don't think KITL mode is not available once your device is in Production Mode. anyone here can verify this?

My device is still SuperCID and I know I don't have KITL...I have SPL 1.04 as well and HTC Bootloader is 0108. I can't install any ROMs with radios as they will hang at 11/12%. I will attempt this "overload" method where it seems some people have had luck with it...after a few recoveries it just finally installs...but I don't think that will be the case.
If I can't fix this in a few days, I will most likely use my warranty or just wait for the Kaiser.
My variation of No GSM
I feel like I have problem 1A...where I am able to boot into OS but no GSM.
I am still SuperCID, SPL 1.04, HTC Bootloader 0108. Last known radio before corruption was 1.48.00.00. ROM where this problem occured: VP3G 3.60.1.
I was not even in the middle of an upgrade...just a soft reset after my phone ALREADY lost GSM capabilities during a tether session. It was stuck with no signal in Phone Mode...I put it in Flight Mode...then tried to move it back to Phone Mode and it wouldn't do so. I soft reset...and the no GSM stuck.
I tried to reinstall radio...many errors...stuck on bootloader. At first, OS's only were not installing as well but I got past that. Now I am able to boot into OS's with limited capabilities...and they will NOT ACTIVESYNC at all. Regardless of how old or new the ROM is. I tried older OS's that I knew worked in the past for me...but they refused to activesync.
Due to that, I am not able to install latest HardSPL 2.10Oli via SSPL. That seems to be the only way to do it according to my knowledge and what I've read. Maybe mtty was capable but I'm not sure. HardSPL 1.40Oli wasn't giving me any problems though, but I just wanted to have the latest one so I can avoid IPL damage.
I can only install anything if I start the device in bootloader...and I'm only limited to the OS since my Radio Bootloader seems corrupted.
I'm not sure what caused the corruption in the first place...but I feel annoying now posting on different parts of the forum with a problem that seems to be growing in the community.

1stly i've tried the upgrade package,click the hardSPL,works well after that..but i'm quite lost for step 3 & 4..so i just stop there..

then i read korand post, bout that new rom..i've tried it & it works well,my 818 pro with WM 6..
at the same time, i try to upgrade my IPL into 2.20 but after download it,my avast detect trojan in it..so i just leave it

now is the problem..

for overnight i searchin & lookin how to restore my device..
(not enough sleep )
this is how i do it instead doing the usually hard reset..
my device is on & the usb cable from my device connect to laptop..
yet still stuck at the boot screen..then
i press the green button (to make phone call) + comm button + soft reset (on/off button) all a the same time (those 3 button only)
then my screen turn into 3 different color..red,green or blue (i dont quite remember already hihihi)
so, i use the 'korand' rom update utility to restore it..with his wm 6 rom
waallaa..my 818 pro is alive again...with wm 6 !!
thanks to korand for his rom, or from whomever the contributer..thank a lots !!
i think i still wanna upgrade into different type of rom..
but my SPL looks different then normal SPL i've see..

I just have one thing to say you play with your "IPL" when you don't know what you are doing and you brick your phone for real !! and I mean you will brick it as like it wont even turn on !! don't think about playing around with IPL. your SPL is fine. it's HardSPL now. you can upgrade other roms, just read the wm6 guide , follow step by step and you will be fine.
one more time, if you like your device and you want to keep it (and use it) don't play around with it's IPL

one thing i'm curious about..if i want to upgrade to any other roms, should i upgarde my IPL 1st?..just like i try to use your personal crystal rom..why didnt i make it well, even though i follow the instruction step by step?
After i using those Korand's rom..everything is fine except my battery !!
i charging it & i notice that my device is getting hot !!..
i know this is not well..so i need to upgrade into others roms which more suitable with my device..

on second thought,it wisely not to disturb the IPL as you've mention except for those a genius
bout the battery,after few reset.. it back to normal..no hot anymore
i think i better stick with this rom for awhile.. as it is nice,stable & fast..+ more xtra storage..
In general, just leave IPL and SPL alone. Most ROMs (except WM5) work regardless of IPL/SPL and it's better to avoid bricking/damage.

i have a spv m3100 and am tryin to put on a updated rom from the orange website. i get all the way through the process to where it need 10mins or how ever long to put it on and the phone goes off as if ive pressed the power button. which means it disconnects from active sync and nothing happens the phone is still working tho as a press of one of the buttons puts it back on
can any one help with this

Post #1160 on page 116 gives you the way to flash Hard SPL without a pc connected and you can , after upgrading to Hard SPL ver 7., do this with the os too.
Please note however that all warranties are null and void when doing this, unless you downgrade the SPL before sending in for warranty fix.

hi all, hope someone can help, been reading threads for days and this is about my fifth xda so i'm no newb.
it's an i-mate jamin i got for my father, ipl/spl 2.13.0001 (G4) bought second hand from ebay, seems to work fine running wm5 os 2.13 but won't send text messages, didn't think much of it since i was planning to upgrade to wm6.1, unfortunately NO KNOWN METHOD WORKS.
Here's what i've tried:
Two different windows xp computers, two different cables, re-install activesync, hard reset, multiple connection retries.
PDAViet temp step 1 from OS and Bootload, most common error is [264], tried NVID wm5, tried official IPL 2.20.0001 upgrade and official i-mate ROM, tried jump/soft/hard SPL, all go to white bootload screen but no further, sometimes the green LED will flash as a radio signal on this white screen but usually nothing.
It seems very much to me like the bootloader is not responding, can someone please tell me when you put the phone in the bootloader and plug the usb cable in, after it has said USB, if you then unplug the cable should the USB text dissapear? because on mine it remains..
when running hardspl.bat the only error on the script is;
cerun: program could not execute (0), after trying to run jumpspl, altho it DOES go into the white screen and just sit there, yes i've tried pressing the camera button.

when i run Prophet_G4_IPL_v2.20.0001.exe after a hard reset (sticks on bootloader and give [264]) but before that it says upgrade from 1.2.0.0 to 2.20.
That first number doesn't seem right? is it possible the previous owner flashed a G4 ipl onto a G3 device? and how would I tell?
