Sorry for being a noob...
I want to downgrade to the latest stock Verizon radio and rom.
What are the version numbers, so I can download them from PPCGeeks
Anything else i need to do?
First, you have my permission. (just kidding)
Second, I think the latest Sprint rom was 2.17 with 2.09 before that.
With PPCGeeks site still down, you might have to try searching for them within XDA. Are you looking for custom or stock 2.17 rom(s)?
Sorry, I should have specified... I'm a Verizon Wireless user.
Thats why I created my own thread, I saw a few others, but I think they were all Sprint folks.
I would like to go back to the most recent, stock, ROM and Radio
PPCGeeks FTP still available
the ftp at ppcgeeks is still available, just the board is down. not sure about the versions on Verizon, i'm on Sprint myself.
Although the ftp for PPCGeeks may be up, you wont be able to browse any threads to find information relating to the rom unless you already know what you are looking for and who made it (if a custom rom).
I hate to ask but have you search here at XDA for a Verizon rom to suit your needs?

Unfortunately, no I havent... if I could have my "ideal ROM", it would be all stock, with only GPS and Rev. A enabled. I dont want any other changes
Check out FallingAngel12's rom and GhnatgoSplat's rom as well. I think one of them is a Verizon rom. Search under "Verizon 3.16" or just "Verizon" and you should pull up some related rom threads...

It seems like if you choose to flash the radio that you may have better/worse performance than you currently have. I am happy with my radio performance but want to flash some of these fun roms.
If I choose to flash a rom how do you choose not to install the radio?
I keep searching but my search terms are short and it is confusing google.
I flashed my rom but not my radio. My buddy here also did the same.

I could have told him that it was possible. What he want's to know is how. I remember seeing it somewhere in the WIKI or FAQ's but don't remember exactly where. I would post the link if I did. Sorry.
Thanks, Ill do some more searching. I think I recall having to remove a portion of the RUU or something. Ill go check it out.
Most of the ROMs I've seen do not include a radio (atleast the 2 I've used).
If you know your current radio version, you can always flash the new ROM, then flash your radio. There's a thread here that has all of the available radios you can download.
I have tried to do some searching for you, but really can't remember where I had read this. I do remember, that some ROM's have Radio's included, Some do not, Some have many apps included, Some are very light with very basic apps included. When you read up on a specific ROM for your device, the details of what is included is usually specified.
I think it's safe to say that over 99% of cooked ROMs are without radios. Every time you flash a radio ROM, it's an extra risk you're taking, and chefs always want to mitigate such risks.
I just got done flashing my first rom to my Fuze. I am stoked. Thanks for the help. This was far less painful than flashing my g3 and g4 wizards.
Hey i wanted to flash my device with some of the custom roms that are available for my phone, but I'm not sure which roms I can use for my device. I wasn't sure if the fact that mine is the verizon version made a difference. I was also wondering if anyone knew where I can find the OEM verizon rom for the touch pro so that i can revert back to it if anything should go wrong. Also, sorry to sound like a newb, but I'm not entirely sure what HardSPL is, what it does or how to do it . If someone could clarify all this for me I would much appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Dump your rom for backup
Hello,
i can´t help you, which roms you should flash.
But here in the Raphael Rom section, is a great "How To" about Rom dumping and reconstruction.
I also tried this, and have to say it´s realy great tutorial.
You find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427507&highlight=dump
The autor is jcespi2005 (Thank you for such great Tuto), and if you follow everything step by step, then it will work 100%.
So you can backup you verizon rom and go back if you need to.
Bye
If you plan on flashing your Verizon phone you need to look under the CDMA fourms, not the GSM one. this is for the Eupore, AT&T, and T-mobile ones. Sprint, and verizon are CDMA.
As for information about flashing, go to wiki, and start reading. Lots of good FAQs there.
beware... do not flash GSM roms onto CDMA phones...!!
i thought that because this was rom development that this would also include cdma models as well. so i was wondering if anyone knew to find the verizon oem rom. i saw the instruction on how to reconstruct my rom before flashing with another rom, but i'm too worried about doing it wrong and frying my phone. i was hoping that someone a little more experience had gotten around to creating a download for it, but this phone is fairly new to verizon.
Gentlemen,
I have read a few threads on this and I cannot get a handle on how well it works. The ROM I dl'd did not look like the shipped rom, it was a windows mobile screen, not a TF3D screen. Also the start screen was different. I have to turn in this phone cause my earpiece does not always work. So please, someone that has done a warranteee turn in after flashing a new ROM respond with how the process worked for yyou. Also, which of the shiiped ROMs shoould I use fromm the raphael wiki page.
Thanks,
Scott
I’ve never had to do any warranty work on my phone but I have used the latest ROM update from HTC’s website which has everything you’re asking for in a ROM. Go to htc.com click the support tab and then select your device from the drop down menu.
Everything you need to know is located in the Wiki, search for it and follow those directions and you'll be good.
SEARCH before starting a new thread!

Hey buddy, as I stated I did search the threads. The thread you quoted I used and as I stated it did not look like an att shipped ROM. That is why I posted. Please read the post before you flame..

ok, maybe u are right i ain't got a fuze so i didn't need the at&t rom. still the solution to your problem is very simple.. having a fuze means you should be able to download the latest official rom either from the htc site or the at&t site. follow the steps in the thread u already found and when in comes to flashing just flash what you downloaded.
to further show u my good intentions i went ahead and found the latest official release from at&t, flash this and you won't have any problems with warranty
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519698&highlight=latest+at&t
The Process....
1. Flash the stock AT&T rom. It should include the stock AT&T Radio. 2. Flash the OEM Hard SPL as instructed in the sticky at the beginning of this forum. If you can't get the hard SPL to take then flash it from the bootloader screen. 3. Re-flash your stock AT&T Rom again to get the Hard SPL version of 1.95 that came with your Fuze. Don't skip the re-flash of the stock ROM or you will be sending the phone back with 1.90 not 1.95. May the force be with you. I'm not responsible if you mis-read the directions and mess up your phone!! I have had to do this twice now and it works perfectly.
Cheers!
Currently I have a HTC Touch Pro with Sprint, the ROM has never been changed since I got it, I have modified many things about it but I have never gotten as deep as flashing ROM's. I'd like to do this without bricking my phone so I am sort of paranoid about being careful doing this.
Basically, I am canceling with Sprint and I want to change my ROM to work with the Verizon/Alltel network so I am able to activate it on the PagePlus network. I know there are many things to go through on this forum that probably answer my question.. but I don't know where to start.
Are there already instructions for this somewhere or could somebody give me some? Any help is appreciated.

You have to unlock your device before being able to flash a rom on it. The flashing and the transferring of the device to another carrier are two separate matters. If I were you (and considering that Verizon tech support are not the smartest, or the brightest), I would leave the device with the stock rom, take it to Verizon, have them add the device to their network, and then unlock and flash a new rom. I have a tutorial on how to flash to other roms (look in my signature), but do it only when you are ready.
Good luck!
Hey guys, so I just ordered an Eris which I intend to use on MetroPCS.
I just want to make sure that I'm doing all this in the correct order..
So, fist thing is that I need to make sure that the phone has 2.1 on it in order to use the 1 click root solution(love )
-Though if my phone isn't 2.1..how do I upgrade without rooting so that I can root?
Next, I need to choose a rom to use. I found the read first sticky listing all the most current roms and radios and other info on how to actually install them.
-Though, since the thread is closed are they really all the latest?
Lastly, I need to Flash (not sure if that is actually the correct terminology) the phone's settings over to Metro using the file found here.
I think that's the basic direction that I need to take. Please let me know if I'm missing anything.
I am in the dark about a couple things, though I'm not sure I need to understand them.
I know the kernel is a central part of the OS, but doesn't it come with the rom you choose? Why would you need to flash the Kernel, is it just to update your rom without actually changing your rom?
Also, what's with recovery images and what's an RUU?
Finally, how do I pick a rom that's right for me!? There seem to be so many and I'm not sure which are the most recent/functional/fast..
Anyway, you guys are awesome for all you do and I hope that this thread can be useful to someone besides just me.
Thanks again!!

Probably once you get the phone it will already have the 2.1 official OS or you can update it through the Settings and have it check for updates. I would suggest that you try xtrSense. I have no clue on the Metro settings though but I would imagine once you get a good ROM flashed that all you have to do is to just install the settings.
Thanks, yeah..I think that link that I posted takes care of the metro settings..at least it says it does.
I didn't think I would be able to do an over the air update because I was assuming that it was DL'd from a verizon server. Does the update to 2.1 come from a typical internet source that can be accessed from any network?
