I am in the process of compiling all of the .cab files I have littering my PC and putting them all in one place (as well as contemplating posting them on line in a "one-stop directory" of sorts on my website). Can anyone identify this program by filename?
PPC5[1].0_HTCV_Sprint_Prod
I'm sure it's for a Titan as that's what I have.
Thanks!
I guess I could just install it to find out but I just deleted Activesync in my "cleaning process".

hi
I have downloaded the wm2003se from lumpinstefan and i could change the rom of my pocket pc to that version by using ActiveSync.
Now i downloaded another version of the rom and i tried to install it on my Qtek 1010 (Wallaby) and it in the black window on my computer appears:
"ERROR: GetConnectionType - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the rem
ote host.
error getting connectiontype"
When i press the next button in the setup it says " cannot execute the remote communication prgram. please make sure that USB/Serial is properly connected". and the setup shuts down.
i Need You to know that before the new rom i downloaded from lumpistefan i was using pocket pc 2002 on my pocket pc.
Now it's clear that there is some problems in the connection. i tried it on several computers but i faced the same problem. is there any setting on my pocket pc to change??
Please somebody helps me i really need to know how to solve the problem.
Regards, and thank you.
Try searching the forum.
It´s an old problem copncerning to some T-Mobile ROMs
You have to flash your device via SD-Card....
Try also some looking in the wiki. The process how to flash vi SD-Card is there described...
And please do not post multiple threads with the same topic....

ROM Upgrade communication error
Yeah I am having the same problem after installing the T-Mobile ROM, the same communication error when I try and change the installed ROM Image.
I did think it was something wrong with ActiveSync or my laptop
Has anyone got any hints on how to do this on a Wannaby? (Saves me getting the wrong idea whilst reading through reams of text).
Many Thanks
Yes i have upgradet my rom via sd card and it worked. it is easy....
Any way thanks so much buddies... tell me something, is there a place in this forum where i can download the windows mobile 2005 version?
2005

Hmm doesnt work for me. I am selecting the browse button to select the nbf file from the image and in the second drop down box selecting the sd card. When I press copy it comes up with the error ITWriteSDCard: The media is write protected, error opening target device. The card isnt locked as I can read and write files to it using explorer. Whats going on?!?!
Growing frustration!!!

Some internal SD-Card Writer make problems. i Think you can use also the SD-Card-Slot in your devuce, or you have to get an external Writer...

Hi for All. This is my first post on this forum.
The question I'd like to ask you is about folders structure of installed TomTom5. There is no posibility to install TT5 as EXE file from PC thus I did try to install it directly from CAB files on SD card (MDA2). I complied with wide range on instructions on this forum how to install TT5 but probabely not too precisely. I could started TT5 with correct backlight but I could see "no map found" all the time.
I would like to know what is correct and complete enough folders structure after properly installed TT5 on SD card. If I know that, I'll create such a structure by my side and start my TT5 wih success I hope
There is not compact description about that on the forum, thuse my big ask.
I'm waiting with hope for the unswer
Slawek
I have looked around but want to know if those .EXEs that I install leave a cab on my PC that I could copy out and keep in an archive instead of using the installer.
Thanks
This depends quite a bit on the program. Some of them put them in a folder outside of the Activesync folder. I believe Ilium software does this.
for programs like this it would be in C:\Program Files\Ilium Software
There are quite a few that do end up in the Activesync folder, and they would be located at
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Activesync\........
Didn't think to look in Program Files/Microsoft Activesync. That was the ticket. Thanks, got the two I was looking for.
And what about vista,
Can anyone tell me where's the location for the cabs?? I cannot find like in xp...
For Windows Vista, I think as mentioned above, a lot of programs put them into their own folders in the Program Files folder however, I did a little digging and found some cabs in folders with their names inside of C:\Windows\WindowsMobile
Hope this helps.

That was a big help to me, and if I would've known prior to this, it would have made things a lot easier. Some programs I just can't seem to locate, either. I must be looking right past something. But did find some in the Windows directory. This is especially nice since I don't like to set up AS/WMDC every time I flash my phone.
take a look at reg path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\AppMgr\Apps
you can find installed cab path in subkeys
That's a winner. The registry is the perfect answer.
Hi
I was searching a solution for the well-known MAC-address problem. After searching in this forum I found that it has something to do with nvram.txt which is located in the Windows folder.
So examined this txt file (you can copy it from the windows folder with TouchExplorer even on Mango):
In nvram.txt is the line macaddr=00:11:22:33:44:55. Since I've never seen any MAC like this one I think it's an invalid one and it get changed randomly because of that.
Well, I replaced that line with another mac but I even can't overwrite the copy of it and I'm far off overwrite the real one in the windows folder. So I decided to create my own CAB to do that but I'm really confused how to create such a package. I wasn't even able to change the ActivationCode Cab for my code because I always got an error while deploying.
Is there a simple method of creating a cab? A good tut will also help?
Great friend of war! I am already working on it in 2 weeks
I went through the same problem and I am looking for solutions, I have already exceeded this a little knowledge you have said, see my discussion on the topic of how to create a cab.
YukiXDA really the second the controller driver wireless network is nvram.txt
look for the file and you find something like macaddr = 00:11:22:33:44:55, this indicates to the windows phone that he does not have a mac, therefore, the system will boot in a random MAC.
Just add a Mac as an example 04:fg:5g:45:5k:99 and these mac fixed. But as said currently the only way to change the file is using cabs.
I tried a cab, but unfortunately not yet xboxmod gave me help.
My cab is pku and pkg.
I created my own certificate and signed the cab.
The cab file contains nvram.txt and dsm
Help me convince xboxmod test and finalize the cab.

Ok, I would like to sign but more of a better explanation on how to create cabs to make sure we did the process correctly.
The intention is to overwrite the nvram.txt did the following:
1) nvram.txt put the file in the \ WP7 Cab Builder Update \ source
2) create the file with certificate Felipe.pfx-tools
3) I saved the file in \ WP7 Cab Builder Update \
4) Update the WP7 Cab Builder
4.1) typed 4 to create a pkg that will replace nvram.txt on my device
4.2) typed to 7 signs it
4.3) 8 typed to create the cab with the pkg
4.4) typed to 9 signs it
This jumped right or something?
Where to enter the dsm file?
If it is just send the cab.

you can't sign .cabs (because you don't have the right certificate.
so or you need to cook a rom with your own sert in it or we need to sign it for you
(only working on dft 7713/14 )
but that will change
edit: oh and you would need to dump a rom and find the right .dsm file (the package where the nvram.txt is lokated)
after that you would need to update the .dsm (higher build number)
put it in sourse folder and make a .pku
Sorry, but in fact the xboxmod tutorial this confusing, as I discover the dsm file and how do I change the version of the same?
What is the purpose of the tools-certificate? the certificate of the cab is linked to the rom? How can then be a general tool for change rons without needing to create a new?
Pkg does not serve to update things, while pku native to update cabs already sent?

Really? According to postings YukiXDA enough to change this information.
Anyway could better explain the process of creating cabs? Maybe with examples?
Arrange me to participate in the development of head / fix for mac address. If my information was obtained from YukiXDA wrong, what information you already get?
As far as I understand, we should give it at least a try, because I've browsed through some android forums and there they use nvram to fix wifi issues... (Not sure if that works for WP7 as well)
But xboxmod said he's looking for a fix and well he's quite a pro compared to me and I would be happy with it.
But regardless of the mac issue - is there any tutorial how the "noob devs" like me are able to create cabs?
Isn't it possible, that either xboxmod or an other dev can cook a certificate in the rom that we can use to play around with our devices?
Some return Xboxmod / ceesheim on MAC Address?
Some of them could at least explain the process of creating cabs?
tutorial please.
Hello xboxmod / ceesheim / devs
Has anyone got a possible solution to MAC Address?
And more importantly, has anyone got or thought to improve the tutorial for creating cabs. I would love to create my own cabs and change things in the ROM, but not yet properly understood the procedure for creating cabs.

Hi all!
I am very curious if anyone here can give me a push in the right direction...
Let me start by saying that i have made an excel sheet in windows for the purpose of administring my mail. I scan my mail and name it in de sheet accordingly. F.e.: filename 2018-02-015.jpg is in excel as follows:
column A: 2018-02-015. Column B "jpg". In that way i can numer the files continuesly, but can select different filetypes (f.e.: pfd, msg, docx etc...) along the way. Now....
I use a formula to calculate the complete filepath so i can click in the cel to open the file. In windows this looks als follows:
=HYPERLINK(TEKST.SAMENVOEGEN("C:\Data\CloudStation\Post\gescande stukken\Inkomend\2018";A5;".";B5); "doc")
I use a duch version of excel... sorry... "tekst.samenvoegen" is probably "concatenate". Now... if the file i link to exists in the location mentioned in the formula, windows opens it flawless.
You might have noticed the term cloudstation in the path. That's because my goal is to sync with my mobile. That's the part that works already. But since i do not have the same paths on my Phone as i have in windows. I had to create another comlumn for the sake of opening files on android. At the moment i can open the sheet on android, look up the line i need and then navigate manually through the filesystem to open it. But it would be really neat if i could (just like in windows) click on the file in excel en open it that way.
What i tried is the following:
=HYPERLINK(TEKST.SAMENVOEGEN("/storage/0123-4567/Android/data/com.synology.dscloud/files/Data/Post/gescande stukken/Inkomend/2018/";A5;".";B5); "and")
since the name of the SD card seems to be 0123-4567 and the files i want to call upon also exsist in the target dir. i think it should work. But since i'm more of a windows man i'm afraid i'm overlooking something.... Android tells me that the link is not valid or i'm not authorized tot open it...
Who can halp me along? Thanks in advance!
kind regards,
some dutch guy
