Hi All,
I followed the "new" instructions for updating my Prophet to WM6, but now I'm stuck at the boot loader with this info showing:
IPL 1.00
SPL 2.13
Nothing else is displayed, except for the "USB" text at the bottom (which just indicates that it's connected via usb, right?)
I suspect that "HardSPL" step did not work correctly. But it seems that there's no way now to re-try that step, because I can no longer connected to ActiveSync.
If I just try re-flashing the new WM6 ROM, it seems to complete successfully, but I'm just returned to the boot loader again. Hard resetting does nothing.
Any ideas, advice on what to try next?

I've now completed that step, and my Prophet boots again. I'm now re-attempting the upgrade to WM6.
Phew! That did it. I've now successfully upgraded.

just flash back to the original rom than use jumpspl to upgrade to the wm6 rom u like...that should be fixed ur problem.....

I was flashing my brothers phone for him, and I was using the CID Workaround, and it completed, and then after a hard reset the device wouldnt go past the first splash screen.. pllease help
If your able to get into bootloader mode then you should be able to flash another rom such as wizard love or your providers rom.
If you read the thread on unlocking G4 cid locked using shell tool you will see what i mean. I personally was stuck in a very similar situation and received help, so the info you need might be in that thread.

i used the shell tool, but i just got stuck on the first splash after i did that.... here are device specs
Its a Cingular 8125, obivously g4
IPL 2.25.0001
SPL 2.25.0001
It doesnt get past bootloader, and I would really like to put WM6 on it.
At this point, I've tried various other ROMs and nothing is working. Any thoughts or ideas at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just follow this steps u will be out of it.
Press and hold the camera button and reset the phone, hold the camera button until you see the tri color screen (bootloader), when u are on tri color screen connect the USB with your phone(dont see for active sync it wont recognise but it will be connected), and then flash your phone with the rom your provider has given you i.e, the original rom and DONT flash it with shell tool use the exe file of the rom.
When you are at the original rom then try to flash the WM6 with shell tool and follow the instruction properly.

I cannot do that because the Carrier ROMs that I have aren't for G4, so they arent working. I have three different carrier ROMs for my phone.. and none of them work.

Check your email, I downloaded and zip works fine here.
i'm facing this problem right now , i will solve it with the original rom .
the problem started when i used shelltool to upgrade my G4 CID Locked to windows mobile 6 crossbow underground edition .
i will give it another try when i get my device alive again ,
any suggestions for the WM6 underground to make it work using shelltool on my wiza 200 ??

Finally i solved the problem and installed Crossbow WM6 underground edition .
all i did is to install the original rom from provider and then used shelltool to install WM6 .
i want to mention that my wiza200 is G4 and its CID Locked .

I've searching for love rom few hours at night, then finally found, it is using the same flashing frontend (but in italian? language), flashed ok, phone's running. I've tried some few other wm6 roms, but always errors like "too old, get new one" or once it was probably fake, because it loaded exactly the same ROM as love one is. So, now I've probably stuck on WM5 at all

whats your device and is it G3 or G4 ?
try to do as i did and it worked for me , install the provider flash , then try shelltool to flash WM6 underground .

Mine is G4, dunno if cid is locked or not. I've flashed it as I said with wizard love rom and working without problems. I've tried that again this morning, to flash from love rom, but the same. At 96% it hangs, error 302 Communication error, then starts recovery process, phone goes to bootloader mode. Then is possible to flash it with love rom again with no problem

i have a g4 wizard using the shell tool i have chaged my rom on my phone sometimes 3 times a week just to test them out

yes, but when I run shelltool, and press get rom info, all fields states N/A
info from phone is:
ROM Version: 2.26.10.2 WWE
Radio: 2.25.11
ExtROM: 2.26.10.105
IPL/SPL: 2.17.0001
And anyway, dunno exactly which rom for WM6 I can put in (I've just 5.underground_edition_Crossbow_ROM.exe which stucks at 96% with 302 error)
well, I'm dumb, mislooked one stupid thing. Everything passed without errors, Windows Mobile 6 is up and running

No, not really, rapi and that second cab was in device, it was restarted, but I did a mistake - i didn't copied that desired rom into updater directory - that was why were all fields N/A... did that, flashed on first try, without problem
I had the same problem, orginal rom from the provider, and I can reflash it again.....

Hi there, I have just upgraded or should i say tried to upgrade to the new WM6 coffie ROM and the Krystal ROM but with both of these I can flash, however upon reboot it stays at the 3 colour screen
I have followed the Hard SPL guide for a G3 ---- Check
So what have I done? please someone help - it's a mates phone
also I tried to go back to the original WM5 from the FTP site, but it fails because I have updated the SPL, I would appreciate a link to a WM5 that doesn't check and that is in english........ if that would fix the problem
One last thing - i tried to use the update tools again but it says there is no device connected so I did a hard reset and tried again but no go, after a hard reset i can flash the other roms though

Hey there, would this be the problem? I thought Jumpspl was included in the initial upgrade tools folder?
Is this the same? and also does this problem (tri color screen) happen when it hasn't been properly flashed with the hard spl?

that is good and for experience users, mine is mostly for juniors. Please read and nothing bad.
The jumpspl... 100% work, and follow the steps, never fail.
Will your method work when not booting?
Just read your method and I hope to try it soon, but will your method work if it is not booting --- the method sounds like it needs the system to boot is this correct?

I've searched the threads, but nothing written there helped.
Here's my problem. (German T-Mobile MDA Vario II with Schaps 3.57 update)
I would now like to use the official T-Mobile WM6 version that has been released a few weeks ago, but I can't downgrade to any other version or even upgrade to Schaps 4.31 version.
I have read and tried everything stated here.
While trying to flash to hardspl v7, I always get the ERROR 260.
The MDA always shuts down, red-green-blue-white display, then a hole white display with LOADING (for a few seconds) and then again red-green-blue-white display, but then it always displays a different IPL and Spl version and just stands still.
Heres the point where I press the Soft-Reset-Button and it just starts up normal. If I go back and check the IPL and SPL it always shows the version from the beginning (IPL-1.01 and SPL 2.03).
Does anybody know the problem I have here?
Downgrading to any other version doesn't work either.

Suggest you swap USB ports, and also follow the guide HERE to the letter.
hey mrvanx, i followed your guide word for word and i still get error 260. i also followed your guide for vista. I just got my phone a few days ago and the only thing i did do it was upgrade to WM6 and Sim/cid unlock. can you help me out?

So you omitted telling us you run windows Vista?? Theres your problem!!!!
Get access to an XP machine and try with that.

I use XP MODE, i have the same problem, but i solve problem. In Xp Mode, you have to attach usb, when rom start upload it interrupts and you have to attach usb again- it work in my case. Sorry for my english

The guide for installing Hard-SPL onto the HERMES is not available anymore, and i am EXTREMELY confused about what im doing, and i am afraid i will brick my phone if i do something wrong.

It really isn't hard to do. But be sure you know what you are doing btw. SO read the sticky!
Basically you just download the flavor of Hard SPL you want (I used 2.10 which I can recommend, very easy to downgrade to factory SPL again as I just learned!).
After download unzip the folder and run the RUUWrapper. Follow instructions exactly, do nout unplug your device etc. and it should work like a charm. It takes about 1 minute!
If you don't know what you are doing or you are still doubting, wait for Mr Vanx site to come online again or don't flash. There is always a risk you screw up and end with a $500 brick.
So use at your own risk!

hi guys have tried to update mine today on a jasjam it connects sys it updating but starts at 0% then just jumps to 100% and says flash finished but when i restart the phone it still has the same loader what am i doing wrong i want to update it from windows 5 to windows 6 using crc-9 but don't want to update till i do the loader any help from you guys would be great

start the device in bootloader, what is displayed?
Mine is doing the exact same thing. Starts at 0% and jumps to 100% and says it is done, but it has done nothing.

the SPL flash is VERY quick.
I'll ask YOU this aswell, put your device into bootloader mode and tell us what it says.

thanks for your reply after checking the bootloader it has changed to 2.10 olie it did it so fast i thought it had failed will check properly next time and have successfully flashed it to crc 9 and it runs great thanks for all the help

I appreciate your reply Mr. Vanx. Same as with puca, I put my phone into the bootloader mode and it does indeed show the correct 2.10 Olipro version. This is the 3rd 8525 I have had and I could have SWORN it took much longer on the first 2. Even the update from WM5 to WM6 seemed to take much less time with this particular phone. Guess I shouldn't really complain
Downgrade Error 260
Hi Mr Vanx I have followed your guide to downgrade my current SSPL (2.10 Olipro) to SSPL (1.11). But I keep getting error 260. I have followed guide step by step.
I have even tried flashing from SD-Card (by renaming to HERMING.nbh). Process runs successfully, but nothing happens.
Its still showing SSPL-2.10 Olipro in bootloader. Am I missing anything?

can some one point me to the guide. I am facing a NO GSM problem on vodafone VPA 1605 with following config:
ROM Version: 1.20.161.6
Radio: 1.03.06.00
CID: VODAP001
Bootloader: 1.04
I do not see the radio version or the IMEI. So I would like to do a HARDSPLv7 followed by Radio ROM update to 1.06.00.10. I hope this will work. Seniors may help with their sggestion.

I have an I-mate 9502 but my problem is for pocket pc generaly.
I installed a program for sound, When I do a soft reset it hangs on Blue Imate page and didn't boot.
I tried to hard reset but it dosen't worked too(I know hard reset of it, is Green+FN+Power button) but it don't work, Also I tried to install a fresh Rom but it need to loud windows.
Please help how to hard reset it.

After Flashed with the new ROM, My Device is now stuck in iMate Blue Screen Logo....!!!
But Don't worry Guys...it can be solved with manually hard Reset...
1. Remove battery and reinsert (to make sure the phone is off).
2. Hold down Fn and the Green button (with the phone icon on it) and press the power button.
3. You will see the white hard reset option screen almost immediately. Press the Left Soft Key to hard reset.

Hello, I am in serious trouble! I got a brand new HTC Athena with Windows Mobile 5.0. I succesfully upgrade it to Windows Mobile 6.0.
All was OK.
Than I was interested to move into Windows Mobile 6.1 and possibly 6.5. At first I did the Athena unlock (3 step process) and all went OK: Antenna 1.5.0, SPL 1.2 OLI....
THAN I DID MY ERROR! I try to upgrade my 6.0 ROM with the Micky 6.1 cooked file with SPL 3.5. After a 92 percent upgrade, the ROM crashed and now I always get a nasty black screen with few lines (No 3 color bands!). When I try to upgrade again the same ROM or ROM for SPL 1.2 I get an error (ID mismatching). I guess the only solution is a hard and full reset of the Windows. But doing only a hard reset with the PDA will NOT change my error message and I will keep see this nasty black screen and I cannot load the Windows ActiveSync application-
I am totally lost. Help please. Any tool for a true full restore/recover??? (I did NOT make any backup!).

In my case my HTC Athena crashed the Windows 6 ROM while I was attempting to upgrade, after unlocking the phone, the Athena from version 6.0 to version 6.1

this is also to repair your bootloader-infos
if you look at your bootloaderscreen, you will see ATHE100, IPL, ATHE100, SPL. if not, you have to repair it
make sure you flashed the right rom, spl 1 or 3.5

yes use that link, post #33. fixes both wifi and modelid problems and bootloader problems when you got stuck at 92% of the flashing process.
Cannot re flash ROM
Please help! I tried the unlocker and it failed at 92% and since then I have no WM6. Then I tried to flash the Michy WM6.5 and that failed. I was getting model id errors so I did the mtty and mac1 fix which was succesful. However all I can get now is a grey screen on boot-up. I can get to the bootloader screen and it displays ATHE100, IPL-v2.02, ATHE100, SPL-v1.20. Olipro. From what I have read on the forum at this stage I should run a RUU to flash a WM6 ROM but all that I try can't connect because no OS running to connect with Activesync? Is there a way to flash from the bootloader? The other option seems to be putting an image and flasher on a miniSD but I can't find clear instructions for this or which files?
Please ignore - my battery wasn't charged enough. Replaced battery and recovered device.

first, how can I get the mac address of my device? It is NOT written anywhere in the Athena parts (checked in the battery bay and so on.....), and so when I run mtty i am in trouble! I have used a mac address got from my company's manager, but not sure it is ok to use it with the Athena!

Can you tell what you've actually done after you've changed ROM with Mtty?
I done the thing with Mtty but just as you described when I reset it now I still get the grey screen. And if I try to update ROM it fails again on 92%
where did you find the upgrade from wm5 to wm6?
