Yahoo and Aol Messenger for the Mogul like MSN?

I have searched the web for yahoo and Aim messenger for wm6 and can't find it. does any know where or if they even make it for our phones?

Sorry bud. I dont know about AIM because I don't use it, but Yahoo is definitively a no-no. I think its to do with deals between Yahoo and the carriers so you have to use their own IM engines.
But you can easily get around the problem. Just install a 3rd party app that can run all the different IMs. I use Slick. It can run MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ etc., in one interface. Its not as "slick" as yahoo, but more than adequate for a QVGA screen.
You can get it here.. http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/694662_kifqj/slick_0_30.zip

thanks for the thought I did install this and its an outdated version not sure if i need a certin phone i do have WM6.1 cant find the new version
when you launch it and it says it's an outdated version, it should prompt you to download the new one, just let it do so and you will be good to go.
for aim theres AIM2.0 but its kinda gay. jus search the forums
slick from lonely cat's website. The cab is somewhere in it.....

Sorry, I gave you a dud link. I would check at the lonely cat website as suggested by hindjew1. I have it running on my machine with MSN, Yahoo and ICQ. Works perfectly with my WM6.1 titan.
If you cant find it PM me and I will send you the cab file that works for me.

Qwest Mogul Upgraded.. now I need..

Hey all,
Thanks to you guys, I was able to upgrade my Qwest Mogul by installing (in order);
titan_SPL_2.40-olipro.exe
3.35.651.2 Official Sprint ROM
DCD_3.0.1_Qwest.exe
So far, everything appears to work.. I haven't (yet?) encountered any GPS, Bluetooth, Contacts or WiFi issues as I've been reading about, and hope it continues working properly.
I'm now looking to restore/achieve the following;
1.) I want the stock games back
2.) Which GPS launcher is best to use with TomTom Navigator 6 so I don't have to open Google Maps every time?
3.) How can I fully customize the Today screen and the window borders? I thought there was a way when using a custom ROM.. so far, I've found only the stock skins..
TIA
-mak
for the stock games run a search in the forum for it, i dont use them so i have no idea where they are.
the rom should have included "quickgps" i think it is which should initiate gps for your tomtom.
Today screen is going to be the same, you can't do much to it unless you install WAD/WA, spb mobile shell, etc. Check the dev/hacking section of this site for themes/skins/etc
Glad to hear it all went well. If you really want you can try the kitchen next, you can choose the "entertainment" option for the games, but i'd read up on kitchens quite a bit before messing around with them.
What exactly are the kitchens for? I've got one of them on my desktop and didn't know what to do with it..

add link to that wiki
kitchens are used for "cooking" a custom rom.

TCPMP crashing with crash.txt error? Miss YouTube, Google video? See this.

Upcoming kitchens/roms from dcd (3.2.1), no2chem, and others will be based off a new kernel that causes TCPMP to crash on startup with an error mentioning "crash.txt".
milesmowbray has done an excellent job modding TCPMP for use with the new kernel. Read about it and download the latest .cab here, or my version is attached below.
FlashVideoBundle 1.4.4 by zbop works with his modded TCPMP. Read about it and download the latest .cab here, or my version is attached below.
I've also merged the two .cabs into one oem that's working great for me with dcd's 3.2.1 kitchen, also attached below.
I'm sorry, but I won't be able to offer support for either app, as I'm not the author and only brought the .cabs into a single oem for use in a kitchen. Please post problems with either app in their respective threads.
All credit goes to milesmowbray for TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03, zbop for FlashVideoBundle, and of course dcd, no2chem, and the others that tirelessly scour the internets for ways to improve our titans!
**Note: As of 7/9/08 video.google.com's main page isn't working with FlashVideoBundle 1.4.4. Find the link for "Explore more videos >>" near the bottom of that page to be brought to a working page.**

anyone else getting this?
Wierd.
NIS 2008 says it's clean, and nothing strange has tried to get past the firewall. I know Norton Antivirus can miss things, but the firewall's usually pretty anal.
Does AVG give any details about that infection? If you extract the .zip, which file in particular is suspect?
strange, I just extracted the cab and scanned it and it did not show this time. I even tried downloading the file again?? false positive here??
is there a version of the TCPMP v0.81 unofficial hybrid that works with the new dcd rom?
I'm curious, what does v0.81 do that v0.72RC1 doesn't?
I don't think v0.81 works with FlashVideoBundle...
0.81 plays wmv/wma, and yes 0.81 works with FlashVideoBundle.
it crashes on the new dcd rom though.
thanks
Latest sprint rom was getting crash txt errors. this cured them...thanks.
I installed the CABs from the first post, but I still can not view videos on youtube, google, and others. I have the treo 800w if that helps. Also, TCPMP does not give the crash.txt error. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you weren't getting the "crash.txt" error msg in TCPMP, these files weren't for you. You should be able to follow the instructions in the "read about it" link for FlashVideoBundle in the first post.
Only newer roms require the file versions I posted.

you have to use the flash video bundle then from there when you go to youtube you will get the option to play or save the video and you can watch it either way.

If you've already set TCPMP's "Manual A/V offset +/-" to -400, I don't think I can help.

Lets figure out that annoying call waiting sound.

Everyone has a different story, or a different item that has triggered that call waiting sound. But it's a minority of people that seem to have it.
I'd like to use this thread to simply have everyone who does have that sound to state, when they got it.. and what applications they had installed... maybe we can determine what combination of items causes it.
Please help if you have that sound and want to get to the bottom of it.
(dont bother with random suggestions on how to fix.. I just want to keep a clean thread to see if we can gather info to see if we have anything in common)
I personally had DCD 3.2.5 / Radio 3.42.02
I upgraded my radio to 3.42.50 and it started.
I have (had) the following installed at the time of upgrade:
GC Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.25
Pocket CM Keyboard 0.14
SPB Mobile Shell 2.x
SPB Phone Suite
DCD QuickGPS
Resco Explorer 2008
Resco Registry Add-in
Resco FTP Add-in
Palringo
Skunkworks Flash Video Bundle
shamanix HTC Streaming Media
Wisbar Advance 3.2b
Google Maps
Inav Iguidance
MS Reader
Resco Keyboard Pro 5.01
Opera 5.xx
Coreplayer
Nadavi HTC GPS Tool
Handmark Yahtzee
Vito Funcontact
MS Entertainment Pocket Pack
Dinarsoft MemMaid
Shaun33 Sip Config Tool
SJ Labs SJPhone
C. Ghisler & Co. Total Commander
MyPhoneskin (Made with TDial)
resco Aeroglass Keyboard Skin
vito Winterface
Franson GPSGate 2.0
PointUI
Sleuth's WM6Voip
Here is what I have gone through
OK. I was on DCD 3.1.6 and it was my favorite!!! I hated to leave that version. I had radio 3.42.30 (from the vogue). I had no call waiting sound issues whatsoever.
I got my friend to purchase a TITAN and I was showing him how to cook his phone using DCD's kitchen. He had his phone for 2 months and we hadn't cooked. We started on 3.2.2. Note, he was on the stock radio, 3.42.02. We didn't upgrade his radio. We then cooked his phone with DCD 3.2.2. The OEMS we added were:
Google Maps (From PPCKitchen oem)
Games (Chess, Freecell, Galaga, Hearts, Kevtris, Ms PacMan) (From PPCKitchen)
Sprint TV (From PPCKitchen oem)
YouTube Player (From PPCKitchen oem)
The items below are the ones we selected that were built into DCD's kitchen:
Adobe
Entertainment
Voice Command
Startup Animation
HTC Vogue PhoneCanvas
After cooking both of our phones, we both started receiving this sound during call waiting. I then upgraded my Radio to 3.42.50. I still had the sound.
So I thought it was DCD 3.2.2. I then upgraded to 3.2.5. I still had the sound.
I then downgraded my radio to 3.42.40. I still had the sound.
After that, last weekend, I then used the PPCKitchen version 20270 to try cooking it to see if it removed the annoying sound. I still got the sound again.
So at that point today, I just put the 3.56 Stock ROM on my phone to reset the radio, etc. I then used DCD's 3.2.5 kitchen with my same OEM's. The only difference is that I put the phonecanvas.dll file from DCD 3.1.6 in the HTC Vogue PhoneCanvas (OEM_HTC_PhoneCanvas_1_0_31335_0). He mentioned in another thread. I love DCD's work! His kitchens are awesome!
So I am currently at Radio: 3.42.02 and DCD 3.2.5 (using the phonecanvas.dll from DCD 3.1.6).
I am hoping this fixes the problem.
Things to note:
* When I cooked with DCD 3.2.2 and the PPCKitchen 20270. I got the annoying sound.
* People have it using every radio from 3.42.02 to 3.42.50. (Which makes me think it's not a radio issue)
Is ts the CE OS Build of Windows? Or is it the PhoneCanvas people keep mentioning?
Something else?
I will update everyone with how it goes.
I thought someone already had said that it was the Dialer/PhoneCanvas causing this problem?
Either way, I am, like so many others, interested in the solution for this. With the help of someone else, I may spend an evening and figure this out for sure.
The first thing that needs to be done is to see if it acts differently bad on how the call is (you calling out first vs you getting a call) before getting another call. I imagine that this factor shouldn't affect it happening, but taking a scientific approach, it should be evaluated.
Next, make sure you can reproduce it every time. If not, there must be other (hidden?) circumstances.
I could sit here and elaborate on how to narrow this down, but it would take longer than anyone would care to hear. Just be scientific and intellectual about trying to find it, and you should be able to for sure.
Well, my 2 cents? Had it with 3.42.50 and 3.42.40 (downgraded) on the 20270 kitchen. A couple of days ago, I cooked with dcd 3.2.5 kitchen and its gone. I chose NO dialer skin as I prefer the standard dialer. (i like the contacts being right there along with the "smart" dialing. Any excuse to use the scroll wheel is good enough for me )
you can stop the sound from playing all together. in a registry editor, go to HKCU->ControlPanel->SoundsCategories->Sounds and delete the CallWaiting key. this will stop any sounds from playing.
Or you could wait for 3.2.6. as dcd said it's fixed.
Hmm, so why do some people have the problem and some don't? I flashed with dcd 3.2.5 and it's gone, whereas others say they still have it. *shrugs*
I'm one that's never had the problem but at the same time I always use a specific dialer with each new upgrade. That's why I think it's a phone canvas issue.

I can say just the opposite since I NEVER use anything but the default canvas/dialer.
I first got this after flashing radio 3.42.30 and dcd 3.2.2 (same night)
I flashed to dcd 3.23, and it was still there.
I flashed to dcd 3.25, and its still there.
I re-flashed the radio, and its still there.
I Upgraded the radio to 3.42.50, its still there.
I edited my registry to not use the vogue dialer--still there.
I'm using dcd's kitchen, no OEMs added, just enterprise, entertainment, vc, and everything else as defaults.
I'm on alltel, I do use activesync with exchange, spb pocketplus, google maps, livesearch, htc gps viewer, and wififofum2.
I did NOT re-flash without the dialer--too tired of reinstalling everything.
I'm pretty sure its every call, regardless of whether its incoming or outgoing.

Does this mean they know what the issue is? I wasn't aware of that.. I thought a handfull of people had the issue and the cause was still unknown?

Same as x51. I flashed 3.2.6 and the fall out noise is gone! WOOT

i would guess that you would need to open the dll's in the phonecanvas package using resource hacker and modify them before cooking your rom (or make a cab)

Make a custom kitchen?

First off, I need to thank everyone on this site for the wealth of information that is contained here. I took my stock XV6800 and walked through several tutorials and I've put on 4 different ROM's in 2 days, all of them with the GPS functioning like a champ and everything on the phone running swimmingly.
A special thanks to mr-free for his prompt responses and dcd for his excellent guides.
Anyway, I've already used two kitchens so far to make custom roms (Titan Kitchen 6.5 Beta 4, and Titan Reloaded 1.3.2). Both create very usable ROM's but there's aspects of each that I like better than the others. Since Kitchen 6.5 uses WM 6.5, I'd like to start with that one, but there are several OEM packages that I would like to add to it from Titan Reloaded, as well as a couple of other ones that I've found from the web.
And so I'm not flamed, I have searched and found the following information about Alex's Cooking Kits helpful, but still not completely sufficient to answering my questions:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser ROM Kitchen Tutorial
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Alex's Cooking Kits
And on to the questions:
1) Is it possible to just copy the folders from the OEM folder of the Titan Reloaded 1.3.2 kitchen into the OEM folder of the 6.5 Beta 4 Kitchen and have them show up in the "BuildOS" menu?
2) Are the instructions in Alex's Cooking Kits applicable to the Titan? Its geared towards the Kaiser, and I couldn't find anything that would lead me to believe it is compatible with the Titan. If not, is there a "Cooking Kit" suitable for the Titan?
I'm not to the point where I'm capable of creating my own OEM packages, but I'm gunning for that too eventually. No questions on that though...yet.
The only question I can help with is your first. The OEM packages from Titan Reloaded 1.3.2 should be able to be copied into pretty much any kitchen.
Note that the Manila_2d_Scott OEM from Titan Reloaded kind of depends on the SYS\dcd_UCAutorun package, as it installs the first M2D theme from CAB at boot. This may be fixed in later versions by making a seperate config.txt for m2d. That way the OEM package will be more portable.
Note that the Youtube package from Titan Reloaded also requires the YTFIX package, but those will hopefully be merged in later versions.
Other than that, you just need to watch out for conflicting packages. Usually buildos will give you errors if this happens, so you'll know.
Awesome, that's really helpful.
Actually m2d is not something I was planning on keeping anyway. I'm moving from a Samsung i760 (dreadfully unhackable) but in an attempt to make it more usable, I actually paid for SPB Mobile Shell, and SPB Phone Suite. I've gotten quite addicted to using them and I don't find m2d to be a sufficient replacement for primarily the lack of ring profiles. Ring/Vib/Silent just isn't enough for me. (And PhoneAlarm doesn't have what I need either.)
What I was looking to move though was:
Adobe Reader 2.5
YouTube (with the YTFIX, now, obviously)
HTC Album
Tweak_Volume_Higher
no2chem_nueExtROM
There aren't any dependencies there that I need to be aware of, are there?
I couldn't find Google Maps in the OEM folder from Titan Reloaded but its no big deal, I can download it I guess.
I guess I should have mentioned that to use the no2chem_nueExtROM package, you'll need to add these lines to the bottom of ROM\XIP\boot.rgu.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ EXT_FLASHDRV]
"DefaultFileSystem"="FATFS"
"Name"=""
"PartitionDriver"=""
"MountHidden"=dword:0
"Folder"="Extended_ROM"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ EXT_FLASHDRV\FATFS]
"FormatTFAT"=dword:1
"EnableWriteBack"=dword:1
"EnableCache"=dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\ EXT_FLASHDRV]
"DriverPath"="Drivers\\BuiltIn\\EXT_FLASHDRV"
"LoadFlags"=dword:1
"Order"=dword:12
"Bootphase"=dword:2
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\EXT_FLASHDRV]
"Profile"="EXT_FLASHDRV"
"Index"= dword:1
"Dll"="OEM_FLASHDRV.dll"
"Prefix"="DSK"
"Order"=dword:13
"IClass"=multi_sz:"{A4E7EDDA-E575-4252-9D6B-4195D48BB865}"
It's possible that this is what's causing some people problems with Titan Reloaded 1.3.2 though. If you've already used Titan Reloaded 1.3.2, you probably don't have to worry about this. It might not even be the cause though. Most people are having no problems with it.
Also, based on someone's post in the 6.5 ROM thread, you'll likely want to remove this file from the kitchen before adding in an adobe reader package:
SYS\OEMAPPS\ppc_adobereaderle.exe
Titan Reloaded installs GoogleMaps from CAB during customizations. Since Google is likely to upgrade the app often, I'd recommend that you just download it and install like you said.
Those are the only caveats I can think of for the packages that you mentioned.

x2 .. I find that loading programs as CABs or during customizations
is a damm cool and a better idea then loading it all in the ROM,
just having that options to remove something is a very good feeling lol

Heh, I've got a little more patience than "Give it to me now!" but yes, this does sound very nice. The omission of Office was also something that was really bugging me about 6.5.
In the meantime I ended up playing around with PPCkitchen and WOW are there a lot of packages. Too many actually. It takes me 15 minutes to go through them all. The build I'm running today is pretty good, but I still wish I was running WM6.5. I'm sure I'll come across your ROM once you've got it uploaded. XDA is rapidly becoming one of my favorite sites (and not to mention a huge time sink!!)
Anyone can add office to 6.5. Just get the oem from BuildOS and put it in the oem folder for beta 4,
Wow, its that easy huh?
I think I'll just do that then! This place rules!
