Hi, I read quite a few threads about the various combinations in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0 registry key, but it seems no one has yet found a combination to get pulse vibration during a continous ringtone play (instead of the "av0pw3r" standard which causes a continous vibration) ?
come on guys, 177 views already, i'm sure someone somewhere has the answer

Hello! Did you found a solution? I want the same case...(vibrate with pauses and play long melody at the same time)
Thanks for your reply
Yes it is possible, you have to use a third party software though, mortscript.
http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=ms_overview&action=view
and to use with mortscript, treovibe.
Check out this thread http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=138234
I'm using it since that endless vibe got on my nerve, and it works great on my touch dual.

VAlert
Customize vibration on phone ring
This small program allows customizing vibration incoming call alerts.
Windows based phones vibrate either before the ring or constantly during the ring.
Having a short ringtone can possibly solve this problem, but with long mp3 ringtone the phone will constantly vibrate during the ring.
This program will enable Windows Mobile phones to produce short vibrations when the phone rings.
Vibration patterns can be easily changed by the user.
Possibly to match vibration patterns to the ringtone, so the phone will vibrate in a rhythm.
Very low (~4K) memory usage
This software is a freeware.
How to use
1. Install the CAB
2. Enjoy the program with default settings
3. The program is hidden by default. To display program window (if needed), run the program again
7. In Phone->Options make sure ring type is Vibrate and Ring
4. Edit script.txt to change vibration pattern. Every line in the file is a pair of vibration length and note pause
5. From the program window run Menu->Test to test the created pattern
6. Perform Menu->Hide to hide program window
What's new:
- More devices support, including non-HTC
- The installer executes the program upon installation (no soft reset required)
- No vibration on waiting call
- Support for incoming call ring mute (stop vibration)
- Silent start
- Even lower memory footprint - ~4K on standby (was 11K before)
sounds cool
gunna try now
you should make it so you tap the screen to show when u want it to vibrate instead of editing the .txt file
Edit: Great app but confusing to change the pattern
Edit2: lol doesnt seem to work on my vogue when i go to phone->options and press play its just a long vibrate
Ohh man i was about to post a thread on something like this. Thank you so much for making this!
Sounds nice. Will try it out. Thanks for sharing.

here's my version of the Nokia classic message vibration
i can't hum it, so you'll need to try it, i guess!
Edit : Oh, by the way... is it possible to do something like this for recieving SMS / MMS / Email, or is that a different process altogether?

Yeah, that's what I wanted to ask too! Would be awesome, would be a very useful app, thanks. And yup, maybe an easier way to edit vibrates would be nice. However, it's cool now, for a version 1.
Future versions
Post your suggestions. I am making a list of changes for the next version.
Suggestions :
- a settings UI on the device (instead of having to pull the txt file off to PC and edit and then put back in on device)
- ability to change between multiple vibrate scripts (via drop-down menu or list?)
- if possible (?) ability to use vibrate scripts for SMS / MMS / Email / Other alerts
- vibe scripts that match pattern with the actual ring / message tone would be VERY cool
excellent little program, thanks a lot for the effort
if the other message alerts can be changed from within this (or even just another separate small app) it's just what i'm looking for!
and please can other people post their script efforts, it'd be good to have several pre-sets to start out with.
there might be a slight bug in this
a few calls have come through recently, the vibrate kicks in itself and the ringtone does not play for about 10 seconds or so.
also the programmed pattern seems distorted.
it might just be my device, as i'm noticing that S2U2's full screen call ID has been struggling to kick in when a call comes in these days since i started using Manilla2D as well.
it might be that the device is struggling to find the ID picture and the ringtone and the vibrate pattern at the same time, all the while trying to run M2D.
i'd check if it works correctly without all these extras running, but M2D and S2U2 are pretty much essentials for me these days.
anyone else care to help?

Do you have this problem with all calls or just some?
What do you mean by distorted pattern?
Does this problem happens when VAlert is disabled?
Thanks works great on my prophet with 6.1

That's not a delay. By default (there is a registry setting to change it) the ring is delayed by 2 seconds. VAlert does not have that delay, so it will always start vibrating 2 seconds before the ring.
Nice tool... works goodm i like it!!!
01/26/09 - This is just a minor update to fix some issues and add a couple small features.
Feel free to give comments or ask questions.
Thanks!
This program is a touch driver to handle the touchscreen presses and vibration. A settings program exists to configure how the vibration works.
Since this is a touch driver, there is no program you need to run to start it.
It has been tested on an HTC Touch and HTC Touch Pro for several days with several stability issues corrected. I am only releasing this now that I feel comfortable that you will experience no major issues. However, I cannot guarantee that it will work flawless for you. I cannot be held responsible for any loss of data or time you may experience while using this.
If you are experiencing problems after installation, please let me know so I can fix these issues.
Features
Global enable/disable option
Vibrate on touch/release
Variable duration of vibrate
Disable during Phone Call option
Disable when device is silent
Disable when device is locked
Disable when stylus is out (for devices that support this option)
Enabled for On-Screen Keyboard only (Temporary option until full include/exclude list is incorporated)
Settings Program->Settings->System->TouchResponse Settings
AppToDate support
Coming Soon
Include/Exclude list for vibration
Different vibration patterns
Resolve any software conflicts
Vibration tweaks
Sound on touch
Vibrate on hardware button press
Multi-language support in Settings program
I'm open to suggestions...
Known Issues
May or may not play well with touchflo/ftouchsl. If TouchResponse isn't working for you, try disabling those if they are enabled.
Disable when device is silent may not work on some devices. Let me know what kind of device you have if this is the case for you.

Questions and Answers
Q. How to I change the settings?
A. Start->Settings->System->TouchResponse Settings
Q. Why do I not see the settings program?
A. For some phones, the settings program does not appear in the control panel. Until I figure out a fix, you can run the program by going to \windows\TouchResponseSettings.cpl
Q. Why is it not vibrating when I touch the screen?
A. Go to the Device tab in TouchResponse Settings. It will display information about your device. If it says to select your vibrate id then find the one that causes the vibrate to work. Send me a PM with the name of your device model along with the vibrate id that works for you and I will incorporate that into future releases.
Q. Will this drain my battery life?
A. I don't have any statistics to show the before and after battery usage. However, I personally have not experienced any significant increase in battery usage. It all depends on how long the vibrate duration is and how often you touch the screen.
Q. Why does the vibrate last longer than it's supposed to sometimes?
A. This should hopefully be resolved as of version .02.2. If you experience this after this version, please let me know when it happens and how often.
Q. Why is the vibration always the same duration no matter what the settings are set at?
A. Use a registry editor to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>OEM>VIB and set STRENGTH_LOW to 0. Thanks to agdaniels for pointing this out.
Please don't post this cab on any other site. Let's keep all discussion here. I appreciate your cooperation.
Thank you for your support!
Ill try it and let ya know how it compares
Nice idea, thanks for sharing.
I read about a phone (I think it was LG Incite?) where some people complained about vibrating even when entering text with the soft-keyboard.
Could you give us an option to dis-/enable vibrating when entering text ? Maybe there´s an event you can use when the soft-keyboard flips up...dunno
regards,
Martin

Since the driver has first crack at the touch event, I should be able to determine which window is being touched and either vibrate/not-vibrate depending on how it's configured. For example, I can see that the SIP is being touched and not vibrate. I'll add that to the list, Thanks!
Just as Martin said.
When typng on the on screen keyboard. Vibrate on every button of the keyboard we pressing. That would be awesome.
Gonna test this on the X1i
It works great on my HTC touch PRO.
Yea Man !!
I love this Apps !!!
Thanks so much
all feature Works like a charm in my Kaiser (HTC TyTN II)
Well I guess I will put my suggestion here as I did with the other 2 programs like it. Would you consider creating a setting to were it is only active on SIP Keyboard AND when SIP keyboard is active I have choice between a vibration or a sound or both?
I know I can get a sound by going to the general settings of winmo but when it is on it makes a noise for all screen taps...annoying!!

Since this is a similar comment among everyone I will focus on this next. Thanks everyone for your feedback!
how about different types and lengths of viberations like the old motos used to have? dash-dash-dash-buzzz haha
maybe different intensities if possible?
I've always wanted 'heptic feedback' on my KS20 but non works for me. I've tried Heptick Feedback, Vibration Feedback and now TouchResponse, none work for KS20. Duh....
Can these options be added?
1. Not to vibrate when on silent?
2. Change buzz length (make it shorter/less intense)
3. An "use only when SIP activated" option.

You may have tried something similar with the other programs you have tried, but you can try changing the Led Id in the Settings program under the Advanced tab. Be sure to press ok to make the settings to into effect. Hopefully it is just a case where the KS20 doesn't use the default Led Id for vibrate.

1. Yes, this is something I want to add! It's sometimes hard to go unnoticed when I use my phone in meetings at work when the vibration is loud.
2. Did you see the Settings program in the System tab of the "Control Panel"? Or do you mean a something like a longer buzz but less intense?
2. I'm going to be focusing on that with an include/exclude option next.
Thanks for your feedback!

Hey hey, it works for KS20 for the first time!!!!
I set the LED from 0 to 3 and hey, 3 works.
0 - LED displays green
1 - LED displays red
2 - LED displays blue
3 - it worked!
Thank you soo much! I gotta spread this on the KS20 thread because a lot of KS20 users are wanting this like me. I'll link them here.
very good work.
i have mine set to 25ms and the vibrate is a perfect length and silentness.
i agree on only sip active and/or blacklist
Just want to echo what's already said. What most ideally want is for vibration to be active ONLY on keyboard when text entering and to be as brief a buzz as possible. Some owners type very fast and we want the buzz to keep up and not still lag on the previous tap while tapping on the next key. It has to be super quick and not miss a key press when typing quickly. Thanks!
Ok, found the settings app, my bad
The other two requests would be awesome if they were to be fulfilled!
whats the difference between this program and this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425063 ??
Hi there,
I´ve got a serious problem. You all should know this haptic feedback when pushing somewhere on the screen. Also there is this "click" tone for acoustic feedback.
Well, after using my Xperia Mini for a short time (reading emails, installing new apps, using some apps ect.) it starts vibrating and clicking. At first, it does it sometimes, but the longer I continue using my telephone, the more often it vibrates. Maximum number of haptic and acoustic feedbacks are 3-5 times PER SECOND!
The problem is: It seems, that the handy registrates a "touch" somewhere on the screen. It seems somewhere in the bottom field. When starting an app: vibration and the app is cloes. Composing a sms? Vibration and the text editor is closed. No matter what I try do use, it is closed anyway. But I can still navigate through the app menue. There is still vibrating and clicking, but no return to homescreen.
I am clueless and don´t know, what to do? Google could not solve this problem, customer service is even more stupid and replys a standard message. I resetted the phone back to factory settings. No improvement. I installed latest firmwareupdate 4.xxx.69. Still no improvement.
Does anyone of you know, what to do? Does anyone know the problem?
Thanks a lot for every suggestion.
Back and Menu buttons have haptic feedback. Xperia Mini or Mini Pro have had problems with this/these buttons. App closing is caused by that back button.
Check here, in general section, there is discussed about this issue(touch button sensitivity or something like that). In the topic is also a script to calibrate the buttons.
Hope it fixes your problem.
Sent from my WT19i using xda premium
this is great, I´ll look for that solution and hope, this will fix the problem.
thanks a lot!
Hi everyone!
Short question. I've got a galaxy s3, so far a great phone!
Vibrate and haptic feedback works when i press the back or menu button. But i cannot seem to get it to work when i touch the screen. i.e. touching an icon on the screen does not create the haptic feedback that i'm used to.
Is this a normal thing or an error/bug?
Uhm you can turn on this function
Yeah..you mean the haptic option under settings - sound?
It enables the haptic feedback for the back and menu button. But not the touches on the screen itself.
that function will be implemented into roms and anyways its not needed it just sucks battery
So, short answer is that it's not a default option on the galaxy?
It's been a long time since i've had a stock rom so i don't know any better

Same Issue(Resolved)
Well i had the same issue and the solution was pretty simple for me. Turn off power saving mode.
same problem but nothing seems to work
ok I have the same problem; haptic feedback not working and neither is vibrating on notifications, some vibrations working. The problem showed up like 1 week ago, without having installed anything special that day (can't remember if I installed anything at all that day).
My device (sgs3 I9300) was when the problem appeared on Paranoid android 3+, now it's on some cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly build.
what i've tried: going through all the settings, sound manager, turning off all vibrations the rebooting then turning them all on then rebooting again, changing rom (incl. factory reset of course), reading all kinds of threads about such problems.
hello everyone, apologise if my thread is in wrong section. i have problems with notification vibrations; i got one long buzz for every notification as if the phone was ringing. instead of this i want 2 short vibrations for each of my apps, sms. i couldnt find any solution though looked everywhere, tried many apps. this is my rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847600 (samsung based). cant post rom's thread cause of not enough post. that's what many people said, thank you. however i want to make default pattern 2 short or medium vibrations. indeed it should affect all apps such as whatsapp, sms etc...
One more important question!
All samsung based roms have this kind of vibration patterns(i mean 1 long vibration for every app)? or is it just specific for this rom like a bug?

I don't know if there are mods specifically for this in S2.. all i know is that it has that feature in GOsms
but if you are an advanced user (or have experience in codes and etc)
you may edit some codes if you like
