This new sub forum is dedicated to CDMA versions of HTC's Touch Pro.
Over the next day or so, myself and other Mods will be rooting through the Raphael ROM Development section and moving CDMA threads here.
Thanks

thanks bro super thanks !!!
Hmmm... It might be a good thing to explain what a CDMA is.
(Yes, I am a bit unsure myself, though I do understand it has something to do with the frequencies that the cellphone will operate at?)
(Ah, I found it. CDMA != GSM, some extra version of the Raphael primarily meant for the North-American market, does not work in Europe... shame though)
Code Division Multiple Access) A method for transmitting simultaneous digital signals over a shared portion of the spectrum. Although used in various radio communications systems, the most widely known application of CDMA is for cellular systems that operate in the 800 MHz and 1.9 GHz PCS bands. As of 2008, there were more than 450 million CDMA cellphone users in the world, with more than half in Asia. Verizon and Sprint are CDMA carriers in the U.S., while TELUS uses CDMA in Canada. QUALCOMM is the developer of the CDMA air interface used in cellular systems.
Thanks A Million

I believe that's GSM Network. Look here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs
Ah I see... Ok... thought that maybe if I set the band to WCDMA and I get a signal it would be an indication that my handset/network supports it.
Thanks though!
Could the GMS Raphael specific forums be changed to a GSM prefix as this CDMA sub-forum?
That could start to minise confusion -- particularly those using searches and finding themselves to links posted in a Raphael forum but it's not the Raphael that they own.
...in other model forums it's rather easy to point out to one that they are posting in a forum that does not cover their phone. Not so easy when one reponds -- but I do have a Raphael/Touch Pro.
Sure, the GSM model was out first and is more widely available, but keeping the sole Raphael name for it is only going to invite confusion. Best to be pro-active now before forums become flustered with confusing threads and posts.
WCDMA & CDMA are not the same thing WCDMA is 3rd Generation data over wireless protocol used for GSM
CDMA uses EVDO Rev1 for data
IF you have sim Card, chances are u r on GSM CDMA doesnt use sim card (unless ofcourse you are on iDEN and i dont think there is a TP for nextel
gsm 3g is based on cdma so it is some times called wcdma... and cdma carriers can have sim card like chips called ruim cards i believe u would only find this in india tho.. and iden is iden its not cdma but sprint does offer phones that can do iden and cdma at the same time..
I would prefer a GSM phone over a CDMA phone anyday because of the SIM card

GSM
I don't have GSM, but I'm just wondering, why is there no GSM section?

Every place else to do with the Raphael is assumed to be GSM.... Confusion is desired while all CDMA Raphael 800 discussion is ostracised to this section.
Yes, it would far more sense to actually title the Raphael ROM section as Raphael GSM ROM Development and similarly for this CDMA section.... Doesn't appear that it'll happen since the GSM model was released first and the powers that be here have declared it to be the sole deserving model of the unspecified Raphael name.

I prefer CDMA because when my phone gets stolen, the bastard cannot not use it anymore because the SN will be reported as stolen and the phone will be locked by my carrier.

Has any one done this for EVDO roaming on All 3 CDMA networks?

I have a sprint HTC Touch pro. While Roaming, I have been trying to get EVDO Roaming on Verizon, and Alltel.
Came across this forum with information on how to get your Sprint phone to roam EVDO on Alltel's, and Verizon's Networks.
http://www.mobile-files.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=116293
Also here is the link with the Alltel PRL's.

Has anyone tried this with success. Would love to EVDO Roam on all 3 networks if this works.
I dont know why it wouldnt work...not carrier specific.
You have 3 phones on 3 seperate networks that need to roam?
No 1 phone. According to the detail If I load the alltel PRL, I can roam EVDO on all three networks.

3g on roaming

I am on roaming right now but connection is only 1xrtt but during the drive i did get evdo, is there a way to force 3g? Would a diff prl make a difference
You cant force 3g while roaming. It depends on the roaming partner. Verizon only provides 1x while roaming, while Alltel and some others do provide 3g roaming. It is based on agreements with sprint.
changing the prl 11115 force 3g with verizon.

Global GSM Roaming unlocked by Verzion

With that do you think that a TBH esque hack could be developed to unlock VZN phones for Domestic GSM??

Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

It's likely that the LTE bands are different in Ireland than the ATT variant, though I'm not 100% sure.
Software radio updates will not disable or enable these bands as they are expected to work when traveling. So it's likely that it's either a hardware limitation and the bands are not present or it's your mobile service...
