Read in the forum that the BOOTLOADER funtionality wasnt avaible in this EXEC ROM, turning a little bit more dificult to upload the original Atom ROM. Would u know if this is still happening in this "upgraded" version?

My sentiments exactly. Will this ENU version solve or i should say NOT have the flickering problem and the bootloader problem when reverting back to the original atom rom. I hope soooooo!!! Thanks for the hard work!!!

They are captured from a forum and I summarized them as followings.
Possible outcomes after flashing atom with exec rom 20060721.
1) Flickering screen if you REMOVE the battery (so stay away from exec roms if you plan to remove battery once a while, or you occasionally or accidentally deplete the battery). A possible reason is real atom exec use a different screen type (or hardware revision), as it show hardware revision "B" in system information of a real atom exec (later model)
2) New July exec rom does not allow you to return to any previous rom versions, neither via usb ActiveSync update nor bootloader mode, in fact, the bootloader mode in this version does not allow you flash any rom versions, if you try to flash rom in bootloader mode, it will stop and display "pls update in OS mode and synchronised"
3) Can't make a call without using bluetooth or headset, other people can't hear me when using phone mic. Some even added that other cannot hear voice from atom via headset.
A way to do it if you still want to proceed the update .
1) Run atom 0426 rom update program, after the DSUU program extracted the files, don't click "next", go to windows/temp folder, copy those files extracted, except "diskimage_Ver.nb0" and "ExtendedRom.img", then save them somewhere else.
2) Run july exec rom update program, after the DSUU program extract the files, don't click "next," go to windows/temp folder, overwrite with the files you just saved, this will leave only the diskimage_Ver.nb0 & ExtendedRom.img files as of the july exec rom, others become atom rom files, including an older bootloader which allows you to flash back other roms.
3) Flash.

I installed the Atom Exec modified update on my Atom. And i tried to install the Old Rom Upgrade of Atom, am getting Country Id or Device Id error. Can anyone help me to install my old Atom ROM upgrade.
Try a hard reset. That should solve it.
Is it impossible to restore 426 after "full install" 0712? My screen flickering much and make me dizzy. Hope someone can help... thx
hard reset can't help. restore 0426 rom impossible.
If you want to revert to the 0426 rom, from the 0721 rom. Copy the eboot file from the 0426 installation to you miniSD card and go to bootloader, when its done you can install the 0426 rom again.

Yesterday I am planning to upgrade my atom life from wm5 CHT to wm6 ENG.
Unfortunately, I wrongly downloaded the Atom Exec rom in the forum and put into my atom life. Of course, flashing not successful, however the atom life stuck in the "device booting..." screen.
I can enter the bootloader and I try to reflash the correct rom. But either CHT or WWE rom also not successful with the same reason: "Customer or Model ID Error"
I already try to edit the pass.32 file and nothing changes and give the same result!
Anybody can tell me how can I refalsh my device?
Or I can use SD to reflash my machine?

You can try the procedure in the WIKI under upgrading problems. Since your bootloader has been changed. BUT instead of using the ATOM eboot.nb0, use the Atom Life eboot.nb0 as replacement.

As most of you have tried, you get either country or model error. Here is how you can do it.
1. Run MWG Atom Life WM6 ROM WWE_020108_B2_DS.exe, Click Next, wait for the completion of file extraction to C:\Windows\Temp\
you just need file FLASH.IDO. Copy that file to a folder, then you can cancel the whole updating process.
2. You need tool like Hex Workshop to remove the first 12 bytes.
Launch Hex Workshop, Open FLASH.DIO, remove the first 12 bytes,

Then save the files as AL1.IDO
3. Copy AL1.dio to the root of your storage card (make sure no other files or folders there)
4. Flash you device by enterring bootloader mode (record (hold) + reset), wait until it finishes, your device will perform a hard reset

I know it's been out there for a while, but ppl keeps asking on how to, and when i gave them a short instruction, they cant get it to work, so i thought, I have to do it anyway, so why not write one
as far as I know.. you just need to press the "DOWN" key while updating from offical ROM update program.. no need for any editing.
I got my life upgrade to the recent radio ROM by this method.

Solved, error Model ID
Found another easy way to upgrade your O2 Atom Life radio and ext ROM to MWG Atom Life ROM without the model ID error:
1- Run ROM from See O2 site but don't connect your device to PC.
2- Go to Windows/Temp, copy file pass.32 & paste it in somewhere. Then exit the program.
3- Run ROM of WMG but don't connect your device to PC.
4- Copy file pass.32 of step 2, paste it into Windows/Temp to replace pass.32.
5- Connect your device to PC & continue your program until it complete upgrade process.
6- Enjoy your new WMG ROM version.

Phones Not ready, Wait for 15 secs
I have an Atom Life device and just flashed my rom winmo5 to Atom Life WM6.5 23001 WWE orig by Chriscsh.. But after the flashing, i notices that whenever im going to text or send an SMS, its poping a window saying "Phones Not ready, Wait for 15 secs". And whenever im going to click the antena to select settings, its still displaying that warining msg.
And its been 2days now since it started poping-up.. Can't receive/send a msg. But i can receive a call.. And before flahsing my ROM to 6.5, everythings fine. I can text and send sms anytime..
Just read a thread somewhere that I need to install a patch or something for ROM WM6.5 23001 in order for it to get back to normal without that "Wait for 15 secs" msg sign.. Tried to turn off the Phone in Comm Manager several times, Hard reset it several times, soft reset it, Flash the the same Rom.. Still can't send SMS and the msg Phones Not ready wait 15 secs" still appearing..
Hope someone could help me and hear from you guys..

Which official ROM did you use before flashing the modified ROM? The extROM and radio of your device are so old... You should better flash the latest official ROM before flashing chriscsh's or my ROMs, as we both use the latest version of the official ROM for base.
I dont know what ROM...
All i know, i bought it with a ROM of windows mobile 5.0.. Sorry i tried to flash it with (PDAVIET ROM WM 6.1 CE OS 5.2.20924 Build 20924.1.5.0) before, but the the msg "The Phone is not ready. Wait 15 secs and try again" is still there.. That's why I put And flash it back again with the ROM of Chirscsh winmo6.5.
I really dont know how to update my radio or my rom to a new one, and i dont know how to check if its too old or not.. Can someone give me a thought on how to update it?

But, Do i have to flash it everytime back to MWG atom life official ROM in order for the ROM of Chriscsh winmo6.5 and any other higher ROM in order for it to work porperly? or I just need to flash my phone just once with the MWG rom and i can install any ROM at anytime?

No no no no no no...
Don't worry too much, dude. That file will totally upgrade the whole deveice, including the radio, extended ROM and ROM itself. And the upgrade action is permanent, which means after upgrading by this file, the versions of the radio and extROM will never change when you flash other ROMs by flashing AL1.DIO files. The AL1.DIO files will only affect the version of ROM.
The official ROM can be converted to AL1.DIO by hexing(as what the first post introduced), but that isn't related to your case.
Byt the way, if your Atom Life is an O2 device, there may be something wrong when you run MWG's upgrade file. View the #6 post and you'll find the solution.
hmm.. I see.. But I'm encountering another problem when running the official rom. It stating an "ERROR: Customer or Model ID Error" after extracting it while my device is conencted.. Then if im going to run the official rom again, its gona restart my computer.. Don't know what problem that is..
Question about:

i saw the Flash.DIO now.. when imatrix said reomove the 12bytes. does he mean delete all the highlightened numbers on his picture or just change it all to '0' (zero)?
because just edited the flash.dio and deleted all the 08 00 00 00 3032 30 31 30 38 31 31 E9 FD. Then when i flashed my atom life, after the 100% it rebooted it self then it hangs.. Even i try to hard reset or soft reset it, it hangs to "Device Clean boot".. And it doesn't boot at all on the main O.S...

Hmmm,... realy can't get the official MWG flash rom to work with the pass.32 and the Hex tool tutorial to flash my Atom life to update my Radio and extrom..
What i did: Convert the MWG Flash.DIO to AL1.DIO using the HEX but sad to say, it didn't work or flash my rom..
Did the copy paste the pass.32 to windows\tool. then connect my device before clicking the 'Next' Button. Sad to say again, it didin't work ahead.. Just displayed again the "ERROR: Customer or Model ID Error"..
Can someone please with a good heart make or send me an official Atom MWG rom that is in AL1.DIO that can work with my atom life. So that i can update my atom life Radio rom and extrom... Anybody? please...

Come here to upgrade your device to the latest O2 version first, because your device was originally WM5.0(actually due to this reason, you have to take the WM5.0 upgrade file's pass.32, but...).
And then, try to run the upgrade process again. Tell me if there are problems.

i don't understand, do i have to get the pass.32 of the WM6 of the atom life in windows\temp folder and copy it, then run the MWG official flash ROM then paste it after the extraction of the MWG version inside the windows\temp folder to replace the pass.32 in it?

Let me firstly make one thing clear: was your Atom Life a WWE device originally?
It's because the pass.32 file should be your device's latest official pass.32 file, and meanwhile the language should be the same as the original(which means WWE device should use WWE upgrade file's pass.32, and CHT device should use CHT upgrade file's pass.32)...

There is no way to check if you forgot that. What was the language of your device when you buyed it?
The pass.32 file should be from your latest O2 upgrade file, but not the new MWG one you get. But still, you have to import the one of the right language.

Put all the unzipped files to C:\WINDOWS\TEMP. Make sure that your Atom is activesynced with PC and don't use bootloader. Start the Update Utility in the TEMP file and go.
alternatively you can put it into bootloader mode.. if its an Atom Life then you just have to download a cooked WM6.5 ROM (for the atom life) then place it on your Memory Card -Don't put too much on the memory card besides the AL1.dio file because it will slow the process down significantly. Then boot your phone and reset if with the soft reset button AND hold down the record button to go into boot loader. DO NOT turn the phone off while it does this
NOTE: Dont do this with less than 70% of your battery
