I currently have black majik on my Hermes, which i have been having huge troubles with the MMS service. I desperately want o upgrade to 6.1.
I have searched for ages on the internet looking for the download and instructions but cannot find any, does anyone know if it is available yet??

no official release as yet and there a number of cooked 6.1's around b ut this is the one I prefer : http://www.sendspace.com/file/mcfbjg . Its been running on my hermes since its release a few days ago & no problems. would try that... Cheers...
for how many month you have this rom running on your tytn, i have hermes 200, does this work on the said hardware.
Ask your questions in the threads about the WM 6.1 Roms that you are considering using.

Jamin come with WM5 from factory, so original wm6 don't exist.
Exactly, that is the point. Thers IS NO official WM6 release for our Prophets. None of the vendors nor HTC toke the trouble to release such upgrade. If they had done so, it wasn't such a hassle to cook the "perfect" tailormade ROM ourselves!

There are a few ROM's outhere that come close to what an original ROM should looked like. You can recognize them by the qualification "clean". Although it has to be said that one is more clean then the other...
If you encounter problems with these ROM's on your Prophet, it isn't of any use to replace them by an official ROM from another device. Most problems are due to the different hardware specs. When porting WM6 from one device to the Prophet, the cook has to find a way to integrate Prophet drivers. This problem will allways remain untill HTC comes with an official WM6 Prophet release, wich will never happen I'm afraid.
BTW most of us don't have any (significant) problems using WM6. So you better focus on differences in the configuration of your invidual Prophet, like 3th-party software etc.

I've had a look at some of the threads discussing upgrading to WM6 (or above) but I'm left a bit confused, there are many different versions by the looks of it. Which version would be best for my SPV M600 (unlocked Orange), I'd like as many features as possible.

Because your device is a G4, it may not be possible to upgrade with Vista...
However, many ROMs have different features... Gullums Touch series, or Coffie ROMs have many features and a lot of programs integrated so may be somewhere to start but trying some ROMs out is the only way you'll find what you really like.
You have a G4 device and you must HardSPL before flashing a ROM.
i was facing the same problem myself only a few weeks ago but i read all the sticky posts and the wiki then took the plunge and i upgraded to maxniper's wm6 touch bow this runs stable on my G4 spv and it is full of useful apps and features now as you can see in my signature i have over clocked and upgraded my spv has been officially pimped by the xda community

I would like to upgrade my X7500. Now I have WM6 ITA, my SPL is 1.2 and Radio 1.50.00. Since I'm tired to wait for an official 6.1 ROM upgrade I would like to do it with the ROM coocked in the forum...but which one to choose?

The less painful option would be to try Irus rom but I think there are problems with different language keyboards.
Sergiopi is happy with this and he is italian.
Why dont you message him directly if he is around.
I am on AP4 and I am happy as it does everything I need and is stable
I instaled Irus rom and had trouble getting some things to work but didnt have time to sort it out.I will probably try it again later

Tried to make 6.5 but it won't boot normally It shows carrier_splash.png and then almost hang. After a few of minutes it boots to today, but there is no radio support and some applications (like tmail.exe) don't load (there is an error that them are not for WinCE).
What is new in your develop on WM 6.5

Can anyone tell me if I can upgrade to WM6.5 (english) from WM6 (CE OS 5.2.1622 - Build 18128.0.4.4)
HTC Touch Dual (NIKI100) Radio is: 1.58.1627.
Do I have to update the radio to 1.65 ? if so,...um...how do I do that?
Which WM6.5 Rom would I then need to flash to end up with 6.5 in english on my Touch Dual?
Could someone please put me out of my misery if it's a "no"..........I think I can handle it.....
Have you even looked at the rest of the threads here? There are quite a few WM6.5 roms floating around and a lot of them are english.

Thanks for your reply..yes. I've been reading these forums for around 2-3 years now so I know the roms are out there of course, but that wasn't my question. I have seen some horror stories too of some people upgrading and having the wrong radio version installed and ending up with big problems. My Touch Dual is quite old now with an older radio version than most I see here. So, of course I can download a WM6.5 in english, but my question is firstly, can I upgrade the radio version (without my phone being rendered useless !)because it seems that most 6.5 versions require a radio of at least 1.65 , and then a suitable version of WM6.5 after that. Just need a yes or no answer really...

an official 6.5 rom for the nike is not available! the last available official htc rom for the nike is a 6.1, but i think htc dont release a official 6.5 rom .

upgrade 1st to latest version of 6.1 available from HTC ( official version that match you CID/language).
this will upgrade your radio so you don't have to upgrade radio, also you will have a original rom that your original spl will accept if you mess up ( forget to HardSPL ).
run SoftSPL and flash HardSPL 1.22
flash a WM6.5 rom
you could brick your phone but i think the dangerous part is flashing HardSPL.
while original SPL is there u can flash original rom (WM6.1) and after anything by starting into bootloader tricolor screen (Pwr+Camera after reset).
