If your able to get into bootloader mode then you should be able to flash another rom such as wizard love or your providers rom.
If you read the thread on unlocking G4 cid locked using shell tool you will see what i mean. I personally was stuck in a very similar situation and received help, so the info you need might be in that thread.

i used the shell tool, but i just got stuck on the first splash after i did that.... here are device specs
Its a Cingular 8125, obivously g4
IPL 2.25.0001
SPL 2.25.0001
It doesnt get past bootloader, and I would really like to put WM6 on it.
At this point, I've tried various other ROMs and nothing is working. Any thoughts or ideas at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just follow this steps u will be out of it.
Press and hold the camera button and reset the phone, hold the camera button until you see the tri color screen (bootloader), when u are on tri color screen connect the USB with your phone(dont see for active sync it wont recognise but it will be connected), and then flash your phone with the rom your provider has given you i.e, the original rom and DONT flash it with shell tool use the exe file of the rom.
When you are at the original rom then try to flash the WM6 with shell tool and follow the instruction properly.

I cannot do that because the Carrier ROMs that I have aren't for G4, so they arent working. I have three different carrier ROMs for my phone.. and none of them work.

Check your email, I downloaded and zip works fine here.
i'm facing this problem right now , i will solve it with the original rom .
the problem started when i used shelltool to upgrade my G4 CID Locked to windows mobile 6 crossbow underground edition .
i will give it another try when i get my device alive again ,
any suggestions for the WM6 underground to make it work using shelltool on my wiza 200 ??

Finally i solved the problem and installed Crossbow WM6 underground edition .
all i did is to install the original rom from provider and then used shelltool to install WM6 .
i want to mention that my wiza200 is G4 and its CID Locked .

I've searching for love rom few hours at night, then finally found, it is using the same flashing frontend (but in italian? language), flashed ok, phone's running. I've tried some few other wm6 roms, but always errors like "too old, get new one" or once it was probably fake, because it loaded exactly the same ROM as love one is. So, now I've probably stuck on WM5 at all

whats your device and is it G3 or G4 ?
try to do as i did and it worked for me , install the provider flash , then try shelltool to flash WM6 underground .

Mine is G4, dunno if cid is locked or not. I've flashed it as I said with wizard love rom and working without problems. I've tried that again this morning, to flash from love rom, but the same. At 96% it hangs, error 302 Communication error, then starts recovery process, phone goes to bootloader mode. Then is possible to flash it with love rom again with no problem

i have a g4 wizard using the shell tool i have chaged my rom on my phone sometimes 3 times a week just to test them out

And anyway, dunno exactly which rom for WM6 I can put in (I've just 5.underground_edition_Crossbow_ROM.exe which stucks at 96% with 302 error)

No, not really, rapi and that second cab was in device, it was restarted, but I did a mistake - i didn't copied that desired rom into updater directory - that was why were all fields N/A... did that, flashed on first try, without problem
I had the same problem, orginal rom from the provider, and I can reflash it again.....

Can anyone please post a guide on how to flash Hard-SPL onto my HTC TYTN.
The guide for installing Hard-SPL onto the HERMES is not available anymore, and i am EXTREMELY confused about what im doing, and i am afraid i will brick my phone if i do something wrong.

It really isn't hard to do. But be sure you know what you are doing btw. SO read the sticky!
Basically you just download the flavor of Hard SPL you want (I used 2.10 which I can recommend, very easy to downgrade to factory SPL again as I just learned!).
After download unzip the folder and run the RUUWrapper. Follow instructions exactly, do nout unplug your device etc. and it should work like a charm. It takes about 1 minute!
If you don't know what you are doing or you are still doubting, wait for Mr Vanx site to come online again or don't flash. There is always a risk you screw up and end with a $500 brick.
So use at your own risk!

hi guys have tried to update mine today on a jasjam it connects sys it updating but starts at 0% then just jumps to 100% and says flash finished but when i restart the phone it still has the same loader what am i doing wrong i want to update it from windows 5 to windows 6 using crc-9 but don't want to update till i do the loader any help from you guys would be great

start the device in bootloader, what is displayed?
Mine is doing the exact same thing. Starts at 0% and jumps to 100% and says it is done, but it has done nothing.

the SPL flash is VERY quick.
I'll ask YOU this aswell, put your device into bootloader mode and tell us what it says.

thanks for your reply after checking the bootloader it has changed to 2.10 olie it did it so fast i thought it had failed will check properly next time and have successfully flashed it to crc 9 and it runs great thanks for all the help

I appreciate your reply Mr. Vanx. Same as with puca, I put my phone into the bootloader mode and it does indeed show the correct 2.10 Olipro version. This is the 3rd 8525 I have had and I could have SWORN it took much longer on the first 2. Even the update from WM5 to WM6 seemed to take much less time with this particular phone. Guess I shouldn't really complain
Downgrade Error 260
Hi Mr Vanx I have followed your guide to downgrade my current SSPL (2.10 Olipro) to SSPL (1.11). But I keep getting error 260. I have followed guide step by step.
I have even tried flashing from SD-Card (by renaming to HERMING.nbh). Process runs successfully, but nothing happens.
Its still showing SSPL-2.10 Olipro in bootloader. Am I missing anything?

can some one point me to the guide. I am facing a NO GSM problem on vodafone VPA 1605 with following config:
ROM Version: 1.20.161.6
Radio: 1.03.06.00
CID: VODAP001
Bootloader: 1.04
I do not see the radio version or the IMEI. So I would like to do a HARDSPLv7 followed by Radio ROM update to 1.06.00.10. I hope this will work. Seniors may help with their sggestion.

I installed a program for sound, When I do a soft reset it hangs on Blue Imate page and didn't boot.
I tried to hard reset but it dosen't worked too(I know hard reset of it, is Green+FN+Power button) but it don't work, Also I tried to install a fresh Rom but it need to loud windows.
Please help how to hard reset it.

After Flashed with the new ROM, My Device is now stuck in iMate Blue Screen Logo....!!!
But Don't worry Guys...it can be solved with manually hard Reset...
1. Remove battery and reinsert (to make sure the phone is off).
2. Hold down Fn and the Green button (with the phone icon on it) and press the power button.
3. You will see the white hard reset option screen almost immediately. Press the Left Soft Key to hard reset.

Hi guys I need some help. I have a Cingular HTC 8125, I was trying to upgrade the rom on it to a new WM6 and here is what happened.
I have been researching the topic for about 3 weeks.
Its a G4 Device being upgraded with VISTA w/ Moded drivers for Ative SYNC

I used the shell tool to install one of the roms waited about 2 hrs and finally noticed that the window was NOT RESPONDING so I had to shut down and start over. The phone got to the second screen but froze there now showing

On the Cingualr Background, I can still enter the Bootloader screen but nothing else?
Nothing else happens I cant connect the phone to the PC to do anything else.

I tried OEM Cingular rom but I get ERROR 260 No connection to the phone?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You should had firstly either hardspl or soft spl the phone b4 trying to load any rom
It's not bricked as long as you can see the RGB screen (Colors red, green and blue)showing the same IPL/SPL such as yours; IPL: 2.25.0001 and SPL: 2.25.0001. AND PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR DEVICE CAUSE ITS G4 MEANING YOU CAN NOT JUST INTALL/FLASH ROM. Make sure that the Rom you flash not contain G3 IPL and SPL which is 2.xx.001. If so, then you will bricked your device.
Desiji is right, you should install rom with softSPL or hardSPL.
Try to flash the Official Cingular Rom or Wizard Love Rom. If success, then you can install other Rom using what desiji said. Just make sure that its a G4 safe rom. And another thing, try to charge battery using wallcharger not in the device. U need enough battery to perform rom flashing.
Hope this help revive your Wizard.

Hey guys thanks, thats what I thought but I think my main problem is the VISTA I need to get a hold of XP and try all that because the Vista is having issues with connecting to the phone at the moment, I can not get it to show it as a device. It does make a beep noise when you connect/disconnect it so its doing something but Vista is just too much of a pain in the rear to deal with.
Its a good news that its not bicked so all hope is not lost.
What is the opinion on Tmobile WING!? any reviews should I get that phone instead?
BTW where do I find these G4 Safe ROMS? and how do I tell if they have the IPL/SPL in them? Do I need to hack them to tell?
And is Soft or Hard recommended?
YUP ! sure vista is still not compatible for flashing,WinXP is highly recommended and trouble free.
All official stock roms are safe to flash both the devices G3 or G4,secondly,all the latest custom build wm6 or wm6.1 are safe for both the devices,as they don't include any IPL/SPL in them.
If you plan to flash many roms,than 'HardSPL' is recommended,coz its done only once and the device remains semi_Cid unlock untill you personally remove HardSPL,but with SoftSPL,its done everytime you want to flash a new rom,choice is all yours,how you want to go about it.

After upgradation , I flashed the ROM with SPL3.5_R6.5_B3_WM6.5_B21198.rar which also got installed successfully with no errors at all. However after installation , when the HTC was starting , it is just stuck at white screen and does not go ahead at all. I have tried all things including hard reset , but the phone does not come out of the white screen.
Can someone please help URGENTLY ? have I missed something during the installation ? How can I get the unit to boot atleast . In the bootloader screen , the SPL does show as 1.2.

Hi there,
You have answered your own question. you up graded to spl1.2 and then flashed with an spl3.5 rom. you should have flashed an spl 1.2 rom. To use an spl 3.5 rom you need to upgrade again with AP4.0 rom that has the upgrade built in. there is no other way of doing it.
Now you will have to fix your athena with THIS HELPread from post 33onwards, and please read the athena WIKI.

Thanks for your quick reply. How do I get the Athena connected to my PC now ? I can't connect it through Activesync as it does not boot and is in white screen. Also I tried to put it in boot loader mode and then run the updater.exe but it displays a 'Timeout message ' whether the device is coonected and that Active sync is running ?
Can I install 1.2 ROM if that's possible ? If yes , can you let me know which ROM with SPL 1.2 ver can work ? I am just worried now as my Athena may be completely dead and I can't use it.

Guess what!
You are not the first person to make the mistake you have made and it is documented in several places.
Jay pointed you to the specific post that will fix your problem but he also mentioned you should read the wiki.
i will add to this that you should also read the sticky threads at the top of this forum which include "the beginners guide to upgrading the ROM"
and another thread titled "How to FIX INVALID MODEL ID after bad flashing"
You have corrupted the radio by trying to flash an SPL3.5 ROM onto a phone formatted for SPL1.2.
These roms are different sizes and it wont fit, leading to the unintended consequence.
As I said in the beginners guide , you can flash from bootloader(the 3 coloured screen"
I hope all new owners read this thread and the others I mentioned as it will help prevent the angst you are feeling.

Absolutely brilliant !!
My Athena is breathing again and is out of the dead white screen. I followed the steps to fix the model id and wifi (from CMonex ) and was able to overwrite the model id successfully. I then flashed it with ROM WM6.1 MULTILANG R6.1 MiChY which also got installed successfully. On bootloader screen it now shows as:
ATHE100
IPL-v1.00
ATHE100
SPL-v1.20.Olipro

I just want to know now which is the best stable SPL1.2 ROM now which i can install. I want to install 1.2 ROM with HTC Plugin and the big Digital clock and also which will have GPS. My previous ROM had QuickGPS which doesn't seem to be there now and is there way I could get it back. How can I use GPS on Athena.
Apologies as this device is completely new to me i am still getting used to its functions by reading lot of articles and WIKI for this model.
I am scared to put SPL3.5 as I might break something again. My donation is on its way.

Just update to the 3.5 spl much much easier that way instead of waiting for anyone to backport their stuff to the 1.2 spl
Hi. I have searched the forums, but haven't found the answer I have been looking for, so sorry if this is a repeat.
I am working under Windows 7, installed VMWare and XP Pro on it, and easily installed Hard-SPL and Cracings 6.5. When I went to upgrade the Radio, I was sure to download one without SPL and IPL. I tried to upgrade, but it hung at 2% for at least 5 hours. (I knew it was bad in 2 minutes actually, but decided to wait). Now it will turn on, but to the tri-color boot screen. Tried hard reset (although I didn't really expect it to work). Is there anything that I can do? It shows when I connect it to usb, both on the phone and on the computer.
It is FAR out from under warranty, so thats out, but if there is anything I could try, I would be much obliged for pointers. Thanks a lot!

You need to make the update with RUU 2.5.2

Try it, if even that does not work (for me it works only with wizard_love ROM
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...293480&page=21 loca's post), but not with other cooked ROM's) then you can try WST wizard service tool
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329170 ) to unpack the nbf and load only the OS ROM.

Hey I am having the same problem but with my G3 att 8125. I flashed to 2.26 which I always do before installing any rom then installed X2A Haseebs Iphone Killer and it stalled at 57% for over an hour so I unplugged it and hard-reset it. I have installed this rom about twice and it works fine. Now my phone starts up and goes straight to the Tri-colored bootscreen. When I plug the phone in it displays that it is connected via USB but the computer doesnt recognize it. IPL 2.26, SPL 2.26 as displayed on the screen. PLEASE HELP!
