Hi. I have searched the forums, but haven't found the answer I have been looking for, so sorry if this is a repeat.
I am working under Windows 7, installed VMWare and XP Pro on it, and easily installed Hard-SPL and Cracings 6.5. When I went to upgrade the Radio, I was sure to download one without SPL and IPL. I tried to upgrade, but it hung at 2% for at least 5 hours. (I knew it was bad in 2 minutes actually, but decided to wait). Now it will turn on, but to the tri-color boot screen. Tried hard reset (although I didn't really expect it to work). Is there anything that I can do? It shows when I connect it to usb, both on the phone and on the computer.
It is FAR out from under warranty, so thats out, but if there is anything I could try, I would be much obliged for pointers. Thanks a lot!

You need to make the update with RUU 2.5.2

Try it, if even that does not work (for me it works only with wizard_love ROM
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...293480&page=21 loca's post), but not with other cooked ROM's) then you can try WST wizard service tool
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329170 ) to unpack the nbf and load only the OS ROM.

If Tri Colour Screen WST needs to boot into WM OS surely???
How can you use WST if only on bootloader. Please explain as I have similar issues...

I had exactly the same experience as you: Hard-SPL followed by Cracing and then the tri-color screen. This thread helped me revive my G4.

Hey I am having the same problem but with my G3 att 8125. I flashed to 2.26 which I always do before installing any rom then installed X2A Haseebs Iphone Killer and it stalled at 57% for over an hour so I unplugged it and hard-reset it. I have installed this rom about twice and it works fine. Now my phone starts up and goes straight to the Tri-colored bootscreen. When I plug the phone in it displays that it is connected via USB but the computer doesnt recognize it. IPL 2.26, SPL 2.26 as displayed on the screen. PLEASE HELP!

First of all, its not bricked. Bricked = doesn't turn on, nothing, blank screen.
I've looked to your info, you already have HardSPL, so you can flash directly using any RUU, don't use shelltools!
Enter bootloader (hold camera+reset), open up the RUU of the ROM you want (make sure it doesn't have any IPL/SPL) and flash away
well I looked all day what to do and I can not find solution
I just can not understand how to flash the phone
I found one solution via some kind of Wizard_love, but again I do not know what to do
Please help i am haveing the same thing just did it today i have the Cingular 8125....i have held camera+reset and got into these Red,Green,Blue,white screen and it says IPL 2.25 and SPL 2.25 now when i run the ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID it does not work i have my usb pluged in and my phone says USB please help

Ok i have try everything. I have tried the RUU from the HTC site and even everything else when it is searching for the PDA and crashes idk why. I turn on my phone holding the camera and i get to the Red,Green,Blue,White...Plug the USB in and the phone says USB but not my computer??? so i don't know what i need to do please HELP i just got the phone and read you can do all this stuff

You guys wanna see bricked? I have a BRICKED! phone... My MDA was the unfortunate victim of a car accident. When my car went carreening off the road, my MDA went flying through the air and ended up on the floor of the car but not before hitting virtually every surface on the inside of the car.
Now my charge port is completely snapped off and my battery shorted out when I was trying to hold the charge port in place to charge it and fried the main board. DEAD. NO MORE.
THAT MY FRIENDS, IS BRICKED....

Oh and i had the same problem with my mda and i got it replaced from tmobile. - the easiest way to reapair an MDA is getting it replaced ^^

Well i got mine up and running agian just used XP and install the RUU from HTC YES.......Now when i go to install WM6 when i press update were it should show me the Ver. of the one i am installing on my phone it does not say why please help and what do i need to install WM6 on my phone?
Just a quick question did you read the other threads there are already. They basicly explain everything clear and good

first of all,as dferreira has assured u that ur device is not bricked,secondly ,you already have HardSPL,that means your device is unlocked,just follow his instructions,download any wm6 Rom and flash,it'll good to go,but if u still want to be sure,download WST Tool from the below given thread read carefully and apply the tool to verify the status of ur device,

Ok, Used SoftSPL and tried flashing the ROM. It manages to get to 99% and then just goes RED. I have tried 3 different ROMS and same story it goes RED at 99%.
When i remove the battery, it goes to the RUU Red, Green and Blue screen. SPL version is 2.16.0001. Not Oli's new one.
What do i do from now?

Soft SPL only allows you ONE update, so phone is CID unlocked only when Soft SPL is loaded.
It's normal for the RUU to stick on 99 % for a couple of minutes, The whole update will take aprox 10 minutes.
You can try the hard SPL from there you are semi-permanently CID unlocked.

Hello to everyone. I am newb here. I need a great men to help fix my phone. I got a Cingular 8125 G4 CID-locked but sim-unlocked device. Prior to upgrading, it finely works in a Cingular Official ROM and WM5. Now I decide to put some more interesting rom - a AKU 2.3 rom (if i am not mistaken this is a Wizard Love Rom). It was upgraded successfully. Then I flashed another rom which I am not familiar with the content. Unfortunately didn't go right this time. Now I am stuck with RGB screen. I even use shelltool in RGB screen (even knowing not to work in this kind of mode). In the middle of the process, the device turns off and shelltool hang, never show progress. I pull out the usb cable from the device. Then when I turn on the unit it gives me the RGB screen showing IPL/SPL 2.25.0001 with no splash screen, OS and GSM. I tried flashing different rom which I know is safe for G4 CID-locked device but no luck at all. I can get through 96% and the device turns off automatically and return to blinking RGB screen with on and off usb connection. Did I bricked my device? Please help revive my Wizard 100. Thank you in advance.
Nopes ! your phone is not bricked,as long as it gets into Bootloaders (RGB screen) its safe.
Download official cingular stock rom and flash in Bootloaders to recover or flash wizard_love rom.After recovering,don't use shelltool,its risky and old method,now a much better method is available.Either upgrade through 'SoftSPL or HardSPL'.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. I did all that, download the cingular official rom from the link I got from xda forum and wizard love rom and flashed it but no luck at all. It gives me the same problem. When doing the upgrading the phone restart at 96% and reboot itself showing different error every upgrading attempt. What I only got in bootloader screen is the IPL/SPL 2.25.0001 no OS and GSM (Radio Rom). Maybe I got a corrupted file in my phone. Or just my battery. I tried wall charging but no good. Should I buy a new one or try my luck again. BTW, the error message appeared during upgrading are 274, 302 and 260. The first two seems to be serious matter. Please help me.
Probably,the battery is the culprit here,if its not fully charged or not having enough juice,it won't complete the flash,there are many comm errors due to weak battery,try to get it charged and then try.
How many hours just to have a fully charge battery using wallcharging?
Or maybe my battery needs to be replace. FYI it's 1 yr and 8 mos old now.
My Wizard was revived this time. The problem was the dead battery. I bought a new one and everthing goes fine when I flash the Official Cingualr Rom. Thanks to zabardast_1 and the gurus here in the forum.

HERMES (htc tytn) UPGRADE FAILURE

Hi all of you!
I have a Hermes (HTC Tytn/ Orange SPV M3100) and i succesfully tried a lot of ROM’s until these days..
But, this happened:
During upgrade of a ROM, i made the mistake to disconect the device from the PC..
And, now the problem is that i can’t boot ANY OTHER ROM!
I can enter to BootLoader , where i see
HERM100
I PL – 1.04
HERM100
SPL – 2.03
ALSO, i CAN connect to PC (it displays „usb” & i see it on Device manager)
(PC run Vista Ultimate 64 bit).
But, when i try to upgrade ANY ROM , the process starts, BUT STOPS at 0% ? .
I searched & read 4 days for a SOLUTION to make my phone alive again..
Can anyone tell me what to do?
Is a REAL solution for this issue?

i GUESS YOUR BATT IS ALMOST DEAD!
Hi dude... does your batt is higher than 50%? the process will not continue if yuour device is under 50% maybe it is beacause you cant charge it in Bootloader. keep it higher than that... if not the case... i guess you will ned to clean it with mtty....
Just search something like that... im for sure there is a way to make it... use the stripped att rom

never but never! when you got a problem in upgrade NEVER do a hardreset.... just softreset... keep it on mind... try an XP machine get it wherever you need to get it!

My mobile at&t 8525 alias HTC 8525 is stuck in windows operator logo.It would not boot further. It happened while I tried to upgrade it from Windows 5.0 to Windows 6.0.First I got a tri-colour screen,but in a hurry I tried to backgrade to windows 5.0 again.
Other problem the mobile cannot be synced. I have installed Microsoft Active sync 4.5. Even then it could not be synced.
I tried to read all the posts ,but could not understand anything.
So please help me in getting my mobile repaired
Don't worie.
I had somewhat the same issue with a bad ROM flash.
Just disconnect the USB and boot to the bootloader screen (the tricolour screen) and you should be able to reflash the phone again.
Problem in syncing the mobile
I am not able to sync the mobile to the laptop.I have installed Microsoft Active sync 4.5. Even then it is not syncing.So how could I run the hermes upgrade if the mobile is not helping.

In Activesync on PC - Untick "Allow USB Connections".
Put the Hermes into bootloader (tri-colour screen) and connect by usb. Run the RUU_Wrapper.exe file you want. Follow onscreen instructions.
You need to have installed Hard SPL V7 for this to work...

you dont need an active sync connection to flash it. Enter bootloader(tri colour screen) as you were told in the previous posts and Just click on the boxes that you do have a connection(even though you dont) and then flash the rom.
@ultramag69 i hve never had to untick allow usb connections and i have cocked up loads of rom flashes, saying that i have never had a problem flashing in vista either so maybe i am lucky
If you still cant flash doing it this way, then maybe you should try flashing from sd card instead, just make sure the battery is fully charged. Full instructions of how to do this are found in the hermes wiki, which i advise you to read anyway.
Oh and good luck anyway, you should be able to recover the phone from this ,so i wouldnt fret too much

Do you try to flash first the Stripped?
Does your batt has charge enough to boot?

there are many official roms.
I also am currently using an 8525 (Herm100). It was received from an Ebay deal with WM5. I flashed it with the ATT OEM WM6pro (aka shipped wm6). Once it hit the three color boot screen, it sat on that for a couple of minutes then started cooking. Once it showed a progress bar, it took about 3 minutes to cook the WM6 over the WM5. It also showed a popup that stated going back to WM5 was not an option.
I would suggest running the installer again and going down to 7-11 for a refreshment. You may not have let it percolate long enough to set itself up for the actual ROM overwriting.

I think I did everything right (I checked the G4 and HardSPL in the beginning of installation and I'm sure my MB is G4).
Everything was going perfect and the installation advanced without any problems, but at the end my Jamin was stuck in the three color screen, showing only the following words:
IPL: 2.13.001
SPL: 2.13.001
I tried to hold the Comm Manager and Soft Reset buttons as this topic recommends, but the phone gets back to the 3 color screen again, and no success...
I tried to pull out and reinsert the battery, also no success...
Please help me, this is my friend's phone! I AM SO NERVOUS and I may kill somebody!

Please don't panic! If you see when connect the phone to the computer and USB message on the bottom of prophet screen update is posible. So try to put original WM5 on the phone. Read dioxda2 post for more. For sure you don't hardspl your phone before flashing....

Thank you very much, my problem solved using the WM5 flashing process.
I thought it's impossible to get the phone connected to PC because activesync wasn't establishing a connection to the phone, but obviously I was wrong.
After flashing WM5, I performed a HSPL on the phone, and then used the file again, and the phone was upgraded to WM 6.5 with no problem.
I previously had downloaded your 6.5 ROM from a crappy forum, which was only including a download link and some useless info, and since I was a newbie myself D), I didn't even know that I should have performed a HSPL before upgrading the OS.
