Where is PPST.exe - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I flashed the leaked Sprint ROM today
i DID NOT let the customization run...
when i tried to run PPST.exe i did not find it in the windows folder...
by the way...I'm a telus user.
Any help would be nice.
*Problem solved. please delete, thanks*

You mean EPST. Look in the "E" section of the windows directory.

Here it is for anyone who wants it.

Ok, why are you guys messing with PPST? PPST is NOT EPST. The improper use of PPST WILL seriously screw up your phone. I'm anticipating lots of threads and posts to come with messed up devices.

I know this thread is kinda old, but not having any luck anywhere else.
What exactly does PPST stand for, and what does it do?

adding programs

Does anyone know a way if any to add cab files to dcd's 3.0.1 kitchen so they install with the phone? i would like to have winrar and such install with it so i dont have to reinstall the programs after a hard reset ect. so far the closest i got was to get the files to start up with the CU customizer thing but it wont install the cabs.

Noob trying to upgrade to GPS working ROM

hey all!!
i'm from Venezuela and i recently purchased a HTC PPC6800 (cdma) and my carrier here didn't activate the GPS...
I'm not new to windows mobile but i'm totally new to ROM upgrading...
the only thing im affraid of is not being able to make calls after the upgrade... since i'm from Venezuela i can't use Sprint configuration...
so here's my question:
WHAT DO I HAVE TO BAKCUP FROM THE FILE "EPST" SO I CAN SET IT UP AFTER THE UPGRADE???
i'll be very much appreciated if any of the Senior members could help me here...
thanxs!!!

Nelson, there is a few month old utility that can extract an HTC ROM from the device directly to the SDcard. If you have the ROM (*.nbh) of your phone from your carrier then you could use a utility such as DogGuys Kitchen maker to decompile the ROM. What you usually only need is contained in the ..OEM\OPERATORS directory.
If you look at how existing kitchens (and a FAQ on kitchens) are set-up, you'll see that each carrier tends to have its own operators OEM that the end-users selects when building their ROM. Following those templates you can create your own with the files specific to your carrier, and add that to an existing kitchen. Once done, then you can then build your own ROM. Though, with that done, of course the language files for your new OS ROM will be english rather than spanish.
The other possible option is to provide your carrier's OS ROM to the forum here and one of us may have the chance to decompile the necessary files and provide a set-up for you.
...sorry, I'm travelling right now and don't have the chance to go into greater detail or updated links.
whoa! I think u went way over his (and my) head with that one...
I don't think he's looking to cook his own rom, he just wants to install one....and wants to know what info he needs to document before so he can reinstall it properly afterwards..
wow thanks Keystone...
although Dillsnik is right... i read the FAQ on kitchens an it doesn´t sound complicated... but i´m not sure if i´m capable of doing this...
however i will be reading more about this kitchens and cooking my own rom because it sounds very interesting that i can put only the programs i want (wich by the way it´s exactly what i´m looking for), so i´ll be witing here soon asking more questions...
by the way, the main propuse of this thread is still open... and the quistion is in the first post:
WHAT DO I HAVE TO BAKCUP FROM THE FILE "EPST" SO I CAN SET IT UP AFTER THE UPGRADE???
thanks for the quick response!!!!
guys, installing the official Sprint rom before your rom of choice allows your carrier settings to be maintained, so there is no need to back up any of that information. at WORST, you'll have to get your a-key reset, which is a quick call to verizon(or your carrier?). i've only had to do this once, and i've flashed my phone probably 25 times.
install olipro 2.4
run Official Sprint RUU
at 'Tap Here to Set Up Your Device' install your rom of choice
run carrier cab (if its not in the kitchen)
if you try to make a call and receive a 'your phone cannot be authenticated' message, call tech support and dont let them tell you anything, just say 'i had to do a hard reset and now my phone cant authenticate i need a new a-key please.' theyll tell you that its not necessary and will try to do it automatically, then if they cant theyll give you a new a-key and tell you how to apply it.
EDIT: there is no way to view your a-key, which is why you are unable to back it up and why backing up EPST settings is pointless for you.

Well, I think Keystone is trying to give you a safeguard. You likely have a ROM that nobody else has a copy of here, and I'd suggest you dump a backup copy of it before you do anything to your device, just in case.

We cant give a definite answer to that because we do not know how your carrier operates.
In theory, the actual Sprint update should backup your programming and restore it for you. I do understand you wanting to have a backup plan, but in that case, I would suggest you record everything.

Cannot use any of DCD's Kitchen's

Well, up until now, I have just used DCD's ROM's without customizing then, but I thought I would give the kitchen a shot. So, I downloaded DCD's latest and greatest kitchen of v3.2.2, also downloaded the .Net 2.0 link EXE fil from his page and tried to install it (cause you need it to run the kitchen) but I get an error, says that it is "incompatible with the previously installed version of .net"
so, i tried uninstalling all my .net stuff in add/remove, rebooting, and installing this, and still wont let me. i tried windows update and updated to 3.5, had 1.1 and 2.0 downloads as well, and nothing will work.....net will not install at all, no matter what version.
so i cannot get the kitchen to run...help....?
:: Connor
did you restart the computer? after, did you delete the entire extracted folder of the kitchen and re-extract it? that always works for me.
Using DCD's (BuildOS) Kitchen with Vista
If you have UAC active on Vista here is what I suggest. If you are seeing issues with default.hv, user.hv, boot.hv most likely you have a permissions issue. Delete your extracted directories - Create a Root folder, such as Kitchen - Select Properties of that folder in Explorer - Go to the Security Tab and choose Edit - highlight your Users group and choose full control and then OK. Extract your kitchen files into this location. Logic would tell you that you should be able to just change the permissions on your folder once you extract it - UAC and logic don't necessarilly run together.... So once you've created a Root directory, set the security, extracted the kitchen into this location - run buildNB.bat as you would anything else - good luck.
The same issue applies to Vista and .Net errors (.Net 2.0 is default in Vista)
lol @ Vista...who uses Vista? hehe.

I use Vista. Works great. I also have an XP desktop.
Heck I still have a notebook running windows 95 on it.

Yeah this is the same kid who claims he is the only one that has nevo remote working, even though it doesn't work on EVERY other Titan. He's also the one that says he can magically send MMS messages without any software to do so. I'm starting to smell the bs from all the way here in Boston.

If you read his blog, he actually sells (overpriced) computers. Once again, I think gc has properly diagnosed what's going on.
I have a similar problem with 3.2.0 but my screen is stuck on the vzw screen stuck ...is there anything I can do to fix this ?
thanks

Whoa and that's saying a lot, given the way that bean town must smell; I mean they call it bean town for a reason, right ?!
Yeah...though I think they should rename it Sports-town for the way that our sports teams beat everyone else's asses all the time....

OH - wait, they kinda did spank my Lakers..... guess I'll go back to the corner now.....
No it is ok as Bean-town, only used as a verb. Still has the sports connotation, and can be used both offensively and defensively, and in all the sports Boston offers (Hockey, BB, Baseball, Football, etc).
Verb
To bean.
1. To hit with a projectile, accurately.
The pitcher beaned the batter, rather than letting him hit another home run.

PPCkitchen.org's alternative solution for restoring VZW PRI 1.35_002

Just install the Radio Refurbish.cab.. it should be left in your extended rom from the old vzw rom..
look here.. posted by NexVision..

thats why i figured to do before doing all this reflash old roms, etc.. thanx

its not new. its been done in the past to fix VZ users who let Sprint customizations run. I think the trick is properly sending the /Refurbish parameter. I once made a cab with a shortcut to launch the .exe with that parameter, but it seemed to only work for about 50% of people who tested it.
still have cab?

Guys, if you read the thread on ppcgeeks, you'll see I've already posted there that I've TRIED radiorefurbish WITH the proper /Refurbish parameter and it does not work.

Are you 200% sure that whatever you are using to execute the command is correctly sending the parameter? this is all the verizon customizations do. config.txt should say "EXEC: /Windows/RadioRefurbish.exe /Refurbish"
I know I spoke with NexxVision in the past and he had no problems using it outside of verizon customize. I think I also remember reading that /Refurbish is case sensitive.
I got nowhere with /Refurbish... but when I did /refurbish... that worked.

Yes I'm 200% sure. I've made my own shortcut link with the parameter included as well as tried with Resco Explorer 2008. Both /Refurbish and /refurbish did not work. Nitro, it must have been a fluke, I don't know what to tell you.

it works on the Stock original verizon rom. I couldn't get it to work on the latest and greatest. I believe it's WM6 specific. Not 6.1

LOL...it really doesn't matter if it works on the stock rom. If you have the stock rom flashed, it already ran as part of customizations. The entire point behind the thread on ppcgeeks was rolling back the PRI without having to flash back to stock, which as I've stated, is not possible.

its absolutely not impossible. there is no ability that the stock rom gives you that any other rom doesnt. it is simply executed by autorun. other people have been able to run radiorefurbish.exe within custom roms. talk to nexxvision. its an issue of correctly passing the parameter, the exe seems to be touchy.
i've personally rolled my PRI back using radiorefurbish in the past when i was messing with it before. i've never had the verizon stock ROM on my device.
i am sure that if the exe is run with the parameter by autorun (config.txt has to be modified) then it will have the same effect in any rom. if anyone wants to test, it would be a quick change to the UC package.

I'm not doubting that it's never worked before...because I too have had it work a while ago when I had to roll back from the Sprint PRI. Since then, I've tried to use it on several different occasions on several different roms not changing my method that worked the first time whatsoever, and it does nothing. That's all I'm saying. If you can somehow get it to work, more power to you.
i'll give it a try

Just need some prompting on how to run it. I usually flash via sd with uc via sdconfig.

Guess I need to fine cab for Resco Explorer.
Found it.
Installing now.

I want the FM radio files...

I dont want a cab or rom or anything like that...
Just someone to locate the FM radio files in his device, save them to his computer...and send them here...It's very simple...u just need a HTC S740 and a PC...nothing else...
If anyone could help I would be realy greatfull.
the files are located in windows folder... it's FMradio.exe...
I'm not asking something so hard...help me please
If you'd write why you want them we'd have a motivation. I don't like helping a stranger without knowing what it's for. You know that, if you deleted them or something, you can do a hard reset (start - all programs - more - accessories - clear storage), and all the programs are there again. By the way, you can't access the Windows Folder with a PC, so it's not something that much easy to ask. HTC doesn't offer quick support in that case, so I feel guilty to help other Rose-owners out and perhaps more than one of you can use the files.
The .zip contains these files:
FMRadio.exe
FMRadio.exe.0407.mui
FMRadio.exe.0409.mui
FMRadio.exe.040C.mui
FMRadio.exe.0410.mui
FMRadio.exe.0415.mui
FMRadio.exe.041F.mui
FMRadio.Ink
I hope I'm doing nothing illegal, delete the post if I do so
€: Dude why did you doublepost that, it's not going any faster, people that are willing to help don't only check one subforum. BTW "I WANT the FM radio files..." dude, you can't dictate us. Also this is not a chat, please write properly next time.
i just love you! let me try them now if u could tell me the exact directory of each file that would be very helpful.
Sorry I didn't mention it earlier...My aim is just to make a radio.cab for the S743 (us version) which has no radio software installed.
I made it work guys.
I have made a new post.
