In the works? I noticed quite a bit of speed increase on n2c's with his new build just wondering if we'll see a dcd version soon?
I'm wondering what kind of changes are actually logged in this new release... everything I've read thus far lacks that kind of info but I guess it's really hard to tell... speed increase could be placebo .. I think I'm going ROM crazy lately flashing a different one every hour.
Ahhh!
I have had problems with anything above 19588, I think it will not g'reloc correctly. I am still at 19213.
how do you benefit by using g'reloc on ROMs? i know it relocates/fixes modules, but what exactly do you gain by running it? been wondering for a while.
19949 seems to be VERY VERY fast for some reason... I know it's still in early development on n2c's roms but I am seeing wm actually perform how I would expect it to with his most recent beta releases.
Something to def look into getting the kinks worked out of if at all possible.

You run it either while it's still packaged into OEM/SYS folders, or when it's already been compiled into the dump folder.

I've ported 19581, 19585, 19588, 19915, and 19949 to my Axim. And 19588 and 19949 to the Apache. All seem to run perfect.
Also, after I G'Reloc, I map the IMGFS, and the map.txt looks perfect. So G'Reloc definitely is working for me.

i've only noticed that bringing in any single 19588+ component knocks out a completely different component. i have not looked at the maps, i should.

Peeps - There in an Official Kitchen.... It has been released by the FINE folks over at
http://www.ppckitchen.org/
Please check it out....
Thx to all those responsible for this release.... You are very exceptionally talented people to whom we owe a debt a gratitude too.....
What are the advantages/disadvantages of using this kitchen over DCDs 3.0.1?
Isnt this an Apache kitchen?
Looks like the apache kitchen. Which reminds me how slow that PPC used to be. Then last night, I was playing around with the Touch. No keyboard was horrible, but it was so much faster. Didn't suffer from memory problems. If only the Mogul had 128 MB ram...
Titan compatible or NOT?

Ok, have you used this to build a rom for the titan? it only builds for apache, one good thing though, I'm able to get updated and new oem's which I'm able to use in DCD's kitchen.

I have been following this it is supposed to eventually be a universal kitchen for multipple devices, checking it out tonight perhaps they have included the titan now.
Yup, looking at their main page they are thanking No2Chem for the titan kitchen, looking to see if I can find it now, perhaps DCD will be releasing his a compatible version of his kitchen, he and No2Chem seem pretty tight.
EDIT: Not quite ready for Titan yet here is a chat transcript from their chatroom>
<jjlwork> I noticed you are thanking no2chem for the titan kitchen, but i do not see anywhere to d/l throguh the updater, am I missing something?
<naigaman> jjlwork we are working on releasing that soon
So stay tuned!
It looks like a pretty intuitive kitchen, I hope we can get it released for the Titan, but until then DCD all the way.
If you read the full article HERE, You can see the dropdown box for what device your cooking for - I'm assuming there's a Titan device available, as dcd is listed in the credits aswell. In anycase I can't wait to try it tonight when I get home!

Damm, finally got back to my PC after the updater finished and alas....... IT IS NOT FOR THE TITAN.... When I read the read more section, down at the bottom I saw it say No2Chem for Titan Kitchen and bout pissed myself... SORRY to everyone who got too excited by my overzelous post........

Damn, that sucks. I went and got all excited... Really the only functionality I want from that is the ability to change the boot & splash screens.
Just recently coming from the 6700/Apache camp I can tell you how much I MISS the Apache kitchen. It was nothing short of a ROM addicts dream...
I got kind of spoiled using the kitchen and the Apache. Yeah, the 6700 was a somewhat limited device compared to the 6800 but it's the Kitchen that really made it compelling and seriously, probably kept it going for so long (and still going...)
Hopefully the Mogul development will eventually get there, but for now you can always dream....
i actually just spoke with gguruUSA and he said that the noChem's titan kitchen has been implemented, but the only delay is with the release of the new official rom, so they're working to make everything compatible. So, hopefully soon we'll be cooking roms apache style.

Quick comment: afaik, neither 20226 nor 20270 have ever been released in a shipped ROM, so proceed at your own risk. It's one of the reasons I haven't yet updated from 5.2.19915.
And for the sake of my own sanity, I'll put aside the whole issue of taking work that somebody else did without any attribution (because it did take a bit of kicking around to get everything to work as well as it did).

Cmonex tell me that: build 20270 is the last, final version of wm6.1.
If her words are true, 20273 build can't exist, so his core is a fake.

I don't know if it's necessarily a fake - there have been developer leaks of Windows Mobile before (hell if I know where they get their hands on those, though ). But, regardless, I would imagine that a difference of three builds likely doesn't make a huge difference.

I was wondering if anyone here has successfully integrated (OEM'd) their carrier cab into DCD's Kitchen.
I'm trying to do it with 3.2.4 (fixed most of the bugs), but it doesn't do anything other than import the registry entries and create the EPSTLab link. (Verizon Carrier Cab)
The carrier OEM's were taken out of the kitchen after 3.0.4 and made into the carrier cabs. Your best bet is to just stick with the carrier cab. Is it that hard to install one cab after flashing? If your response is "Well, I have lots of cabs to install after flashing...", then my answer to you would be...USE UC

Nah, I don't mind installing it. I just like to try to simplify and customize the ROM as much as possible.
So it was indeed used before and just removed?
Hrmm, I'll have to look into it.

I have a dumb question ya imagine that.....anyway
1) why did he take the mms config out
2) have there really been that many changes to the cab as opposed to the OEM since 3.0.4

Yes, all carrier OEM's were included in kitchens 3.0.4 and before. They were removed to make a generic multi carrier rom for everyone. Before, there would be a link to the kitchen, then links to pre-cooked roms for every carrier...totalling around 50mb each. Much easier to link the kitchen and one pre-cooked rom, then just link small carrier cabs.

1. MMS was removed completely because it's not an OEM package.
2. Yes there have been several significant changes since the OEM.

Hmmm so with that being said I should most likely quit using the OEM from 3.0.4 I know you just rolled your eyes. By the way, I still OEM MMS and other stuff. Guess I need to come out of the stone ages. But then again I just finally upgraded from 3.0.4. I just liked it so much with the configuration I ran and it was soooooooo stable.
Damn son, yeah look into UC or something and get up to date. You must be using an old version of Arcsoft too huh?

Hmmm ya, I'm not one who needs the newest software. Normally I let yall fix all the bugs first . I know all about UC and have actually helped a few friends with theirs but I just never ventured off onto my own UC. I'll still probably wait for 3.2.5 before I do anything. Then will most likely allocate on of my cards just for flashing and UC.
Yeah, my Verizon MMS cab works perfectly and is the latest "released" version of Arcsoft. Throw that in your UC config and you'll be good.

Ya I messed with it when you released it and then again the other day when I finally decided to upgrade ROM's. Maybe it's a placebo affect but I seem to have more free ram and better stability when I OEM instead of cab. Then again I could just simply out of my friggin mind

First, it's the ship rom, not beta. Second, if it was my choice, it would have been posted for everyone on the day I got it. I will not leak it without permission from my source, and as of now, I don't have permission. Also, nothing from it is being used in any of dcd's stuff until it's officially released or I get permission to post it, so put that rumor to bed.
I can however say that with it comes a new version of Arcsoft that will work for both Verizon AND Alltel. It's build 5.0.70.24 and NO it will not work on Sprint, so don't bother asking lol. It also includes a built in application to turn threaded messaging on and off and a new PRI 2.03_002. It obviously includes EVDO Rev A support.
I'm not going to go into great detail regarding GPS, but all I'm going to say is...though the potential is now there, it's STILL going to be some work to get it to work like Sprint's, and may not even be possible at all...but we shall see. You can all thank Verizon for that.
2 questions
what is this "UC" you speak of, and how do you use it?
if i have .cab for my programs can i just extract the cab to a folder then put that in the OEM folder for the kitchen and have the kitchen build with all my progs? does it work like that or is there more to it?

Ok, now I wouldn't mind making my own ROM, but I started to follow the directions on how to do this, and is says to use some other ROM. Does this mean I can use say RRE's ROM and a new kitchen and use that, or am I missing something. I have a lot to learn I'm sure, but once I get started on this, I should be able to figure the rest out. Thanks for any help anyone can give me. I know there are some smart people on here
U need an official rom to dump and to work as a base rom, i advise the new 5.11.
Good cooking.
ahhh. Ok, where do I find the ROM's for 6.5? So, this 5.11, is this 6.1 or 6.5, and is this the latest official rom from htc? I just downloaded that one, and the performance for 6.1, actually seems good, even my choppy Peggle game is less choppy now, almost smooth.

5.11 is the latest Fuze ROM. It is certainly 6.1, but somehow (magic?) Da_G included core files into his 6.5 kitchen.
Then i think u should read a bit, start with Da_Gs kitchen, 6.1 or 6.5, your choise, cause in the end only should know what´s better for you.
Nice studying.

soroboro8 remember no ones job is just doing this. this a is a hobby and takes time from work and familys. also there probly is not a lot to fix in most roms just minor bugs and in such case as android maybe there working on fixing stuff but its harder than just changing a registry value
I think a lot of people have moved on to newer hardware
Differences, anyone?

I can tell you the higher number is the newer, and therefore likely the less stable of the two. I generally avoid high build numbers, but I need my phone to work, not to glitch. YMMV.
There are two COM branches; Da_G has a thread where you will find a lot about the various iterations.
As for WinMO 7; it may not be possible to run it on a Raphael device as rumour has it that it will require a multi-touch interface ... the Raphael is single touch.
HTH,
