I need to know the process by which sprint mogul can be used with reliance cdma connection in INDIA.
Please help
no worry i did it
Can you post how you did it? I was recently in Europe, and couldn't get the gps to work. I followed a blog of a person who successfully got his gps pointed to servers in India and used his titan there. Part of it involved editing the phone with qpst to make the gps in standalone mode only?
I'm interested anyway if you could share your steps
Thanks!

Hi Ashok,
Could you please provide the exact link. Appreciate all your help.
I have the PPC6800 with spring here in US and I have tweaked it with all the goodies to work with spring in US. I now just wish to be able to use it with reliance whenever I visit India. Is there a simple way to program the phone to work with reliance without having to flash it?
thanks.

Hello guys i have a bro who is in usa and he was using this HTC Sprint mogul 6800 .
And when my bro came to india that is two days ago i noticed his cell phone and he said if i can make it work here that is by unlocking it to some indian network that is Reliance or Tata etc then i can have the phone.
So kindly Help me out here i love that handset and cant let it go....
You guys have always been help so i hope i get helped this time too when i need it the most.
I think by nature CDMA networks do not necessarily have "locked" phones, but more so phones with ESN's that are locked to a specific carrier. I know nothing about carriers in India whatsoever, but you could always call your provider and ask.
I know I read here how one person soldered an RUIM slot on the back of a mogul and may have had it working in India. Let me try to look for one sec...
Read up on this, it has more links at the bottom: Convert 6800 to RUIM
There seems to be a more dedicated forum to your region HERE also. They may have more information than we do here.
Hello ... and thanks for the reply i have already been there and i have unlocked it already and i was not sure if its completly unlocked or not so wanted to have a look at Xda's tutorial as i trust this forum more then anyother . thanks anyways
Hi folks,
I'm just a noob and this is my first post and I'm really sorry if we already have any thread that can help (as I did try searching around).
I bought a HTC View 4G from US and Now I'm in India. Was just wondering if there is any Unlock Possible so that I can use 3G(CDMA/GSM) Networks here in India.
Another question, what does rooting means when it comes to View 4G ?
Thanks for all the reading.
Regards,
Rituraj

Is it possible guys, any help will do good.
The View is CDMA/WiMAX, so there's no way to "unlock" it in the traditional GSM sense for use on multiple networks. You'll either have to see if the CDMA carrier you wish to use will add it's IMEI number to their network and activate it (which many will not do), or you'll have to flash it for use on a different carrier. For either of those, you'll have to find someone locally who can help you out, because it will require access to the carrier's system (to add the IMEI number, and that will need to be done by the carrier) or certain carrier files (to flash it). There is no GSM radio in the View, so use on GSM networks is out of the question.
Rooting on the View means the same as rooting on any other Android device. You gain root access to the system. This allows for the modification and installation of various files/ROMs. Check out the View development section for more information on what is required and what you can do.
You can try contacting Reliance CDMA
hi Rituraj,
I am facing same problem with this device. I also bought it from USA. After doing some research, i think our cdma carriers (Reliance, BSNL, TATA) can program it to use this device in India. Moreover i also contacted Reliance & TATA, Reliance agreed to give a try on my risk whereas TATA denied for the same. So now i m planning to contact BSNL as well. Mean while if you can get any other solution do let me know.
Hey guys, I'm a noob, please don't hurt me
I'm an American living in Japan and I just bought my first smart phone...the EVO 3D (3G) for AU by KDDI...I'd post a link, but I'm not yet allowed.
Their non-3G network was CDMA...so I assume that their 3G is also CDMA....can anyone confirm that?
Under that assumption (CDMA), we're still waiting for ICS, so I'm wondering what you'd all recommend I upgrade my phone to while I wait. I'm not a fan of the stock Android 2.3 that came on the phone, and I'd really like ICS....but if there is something I could use now, that might be fine with me.
Also, what are the basic steps I need to follow, I found the sticky thread in the dev forum, but I'm not sure what stickies would apply to my situation. I'm guessing I'd have to start with a root kit, and go from there....but please fill in the gaps, thanks

Is there evidence to confirm that ''noobs'' have been mentally assaulted for asking questions on this forum?
Just being playful after watching the required "noob" registration video
Lol I see.
Chances are that you will not be able to activate any CMDA phone from overseas on a network here in the USA. The big networks like verizon and sprint will not allow foreign IMEI numbers to be submitted to their system for activation.
Do you happen to know what frequency the cdma network you came from runs on? Look behind the battery

When I had AU by KDDI when I was living in Japan is was CDMA. As far as I am aware the Japanese version wasn't able to be rooted using the CDMA methods here in the development forum. Also the ROMs here would not work on your device and would actually need to be slightly modified to include files from your device to work, but you don't have an ICS ROM to use for replacing files.

That's kind of the conclusion I came to, after running through all the different root/unlock methods, I came across issues in every single one, and my skill / confidence isn't high enough to really make a go at figuring it out.
Only thing I haven't really attempted is downgrading from hboot 1.5 to 1.4, partially because my software version is different from the instructions, and soft bricking the phone makes me nervous considering the potential incompatibilities.
I think our phone is more or less the same as the sprint phone, just on the Japanese frequency. I'm hoping that the sprint announcement means we will also be getting ICS soon... but who knows
In reference to THIS thread about unlocking the GSM to enable the use of a sim card from a US carrier, I was wondering if the phone works exactly the same once I actually switch it to GSM (mainly data) and does it depend on which carrier I switch to. I wonder which one would work best with this phone.
Well anyway I tried reading into the steps to make sure I understood before I even begin to tamper with it but im still unsure and nowhere near tech savvy and im sure I will find a way to screw it up. I was wondering if anyone can :fingers-crossed: OH SO KINDLY!! walk me through these steps or at least the parts I have major trouble with.. I would appreciate it.
I HOPE IM NOT ASKING FOR TOO MUCH.!! Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

there are many threads on how to do this.. more than one and its not that hard... root,, unlock, and then flash japanese radio. If you have new 2.3.5 firmware you are out of luck until someone figures out how to unlock the bootloader. Bootloader MUST be unlocked before you can flash japanese radio.
How do I know which firmware I have?
What about data, will it work with an unlimited everything plan?

Settings, about phone, android version.
And yes, everything should work just fine. Only thing is I heard there is something wrong with using it on t mobile. Something about 3g I think.
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
I bid on an Sprint EVO 3D on eBay. Before I check it out, I wanted to know a few things and be sure.
---Will I for sure be able to flash this device to Page Plus with everything working like 3g?
I saw a long complicated thread about this, and I didn't have enough posts to ask questions in there.
---Since this is a Sprint phone, is it true that the internet will be slower on PagePlus than if it was a Verizon phone?
---Saw a youtube video about a program called CyberFlash: youtube[/url][dot here]com/watch?v=_Ilti1TSbSo
Does it actually work to get your phone on PP?
---Do I need a donor phone to get this phone on PP with all features?
---Are you supposed to get a phone activated with Page Plus before or after you flash?
---Will I for sure be able to flash this device to Page Plus with everything working like 3g?

The phone can be flashed to other carriers. As far as that specific carrier, not sure.

I haven't gotten above 100 kbps on Sprint's 3g anywhere in the country in over 2 years, so take that as you will.

Yes.
What carriers can I flash to?
Does flashing always require donor phone?
For future reference bro, all questions should be directed in the q n a section. Myself and other people are more than happy to help you. This section is about discussion of topics. Thank you.
