gprs works only little period of time after restart in qtek8500 - HTC Startrek

I have WM5.0 and few programs installed on my qtek8500 (CeleTask, AudioNotes, Oxios, ClearVue). After restart GPRS works for several minutes, then - cannot connect. Did anyone face similar problem?

i get this sometimes on my cingular 3125, and not just with gprs. it does it with mms as well. it happened with winmo5 and winmo6, i just re-did all my settings and it worked for a short period of time. it has now gone back to not working... reboots fix it sometimes but why the hell should i reboot this phone to download a picture....

GSM Problem....?

Observing a peculiar problem with (probably) Radio Stack.
ROM Version 3.17.03 (Jeff's ROMKitchen) or 3.16.52 ENG (Qtek Upgrade) or 3.14 (Original Qtek when I bought it)
Radio Version 3.23.01 (Qtek)
Problems: XDA suddenly stops responding to all the phone applications. No calls, no sms, no gprs connection. Backlight flickers, or shut off completely. Other applications work but infinitely slowly.
Bootloader observations: upon entering into the bootloader (ver 5.15), it takes long time to settle and I get a message GSM Failure instead of GSM OK. If I try to switch band, or reset GSM, I get the same message after a long wait.
Everything gets restored perfectly well after hard reset.
What could be the possible problem?

Flight Mode Problem

Dear All,
I was using 4.0.0.3. During my air travel i used to switch on the flight mode and it after landing i used to turn it off. It used to work properly.
But now after every time i land my phone refuses to detect a network. So i have to take out my sim. put it inside a 3310 or any other phone where it start working. After that when i put the sim card back in to my neo it starts working fine.
Is there something wrong i m doing.
regards,
vinit
Does the phone turn on when you deactivate flight mode? Do you have to remove the sim or does a soft reset suffice? Try to clean the card, I had similar problems. Try to reactivate the phone not by using the comm manager, but the wireless manager (tap on the connection icon in the top bar).
i had similar problem but it finished after uninstalling htc xbutton . or not installing it at all .use gullum's IX rom its without xbutton.
I do not use HTC xButton. It is not installed on my phone.
I used all methods suggested by the infestor. Tried cleaning the card many times. The phone turns on when i deactivate flight mode. Even tried doing this using the buttong on the tray as suggested by infestor.
I have to physically remove the sim card. This is turning quite a bit of a problem. Tried to take it to my phone operator. In front of them it suddenly started working fine.
Should i add that mine is an old sim card. i think a 16k sim card. it was issued in 2000. Can tha be a reason?
Regards,
Vinit.
I had problems on my prophet loggin into network because I had manual network selection. Somehow it didn't connect to chosen network from time to time, so I turned it to automatic and everything is fine since then. Maybe this will help ?
settings/phone/network -> network selection (under WM6 and WM5 i think)

Click to collapse
Tried this as well. The only solution which i have right now is to switch off my phone when i m flying..and switching it on again...
the only solution is to press green button (call button) after you switch off flight mode and it will work.

phone restarts continuosly

Hi,
School just started today and we have wireless at school, so i tried to connect to the wifi with credentials and so forth.
I have Proven Rom 1.08 and all the other reg stuff on it. Did nothing wrong at all, but soon after trying to connect to the wireless network, the phone restarted and now its in a continuous loop of restarting. It doesnt stop, I have soft resetted the phone multiple times. I dont want to hard reset it right now since I havent backed up anything. Please help me. I dont know what else to do. I have also removed the battery and put it back after a few mins to push me luck.
P.s. When the phone starts, the first screen, The ATT world phone screen comes on, the phone vibrates, and then a blank screen, and the phone restarts.
Well,
I went with the hard reset, removed my mem card and sim. The phone seems to work as before, but I hope I havent stumbled upon an issue that could appear again.
Lost 10+ hours worth of customization
You could check to connect the phone on the pc \; activesync or wmdc

Email stops working after ~15 minutes - anyone have this problem?

Since flashing my phone last week, I've had problems with both my work email (synced through an exchange server) and Gmail. 15 minutes or so after being turned on, email no longer works. Although Activesync claims it is connected to the exchange server, it won't sync and manually pressing "sync" does nothing. Gmail won't send or receive email either, and if I click the menu button I see "Stop Send/Receive" as if it is syncing but if I click that it just says "Disconnecting...". The only way to fix this is to soft reset the phone, at which point everything syncs just fine when it starts back up, but 15 minutes later I have the same problem. Internet works fine....running dcd 4.1.2. I've reflashed several times, done a hard reset....nothing seems to fix this. Anyone experienced this issue and know how to resolve it?
ou try reflashing just for the hell of it? And which ROM/Radio did you flash it with?
Yeah I reflashed several times. I was using dcd 3.3.4 when the problem started. I've done hard resets, reflashed, upgraded today to dcd 4.1.2 to see if the problem would go away, but no luck so far. I can access the internet, but the email syncing just seems to stop working after a few minutes and I'm forced to do a soft reset to get it to sync. Perhaps not just an email problem, as my weather program (Pocket Weather) can't seem to connect either when the email stops connecting. Any ideas?
Oh and radio version is 3.42.50....

[Q] How to stop HD2 Connecting to TMobile Server

Hi
I have an unlocked UK Leo that has the tmobile software on it which I used on the O2 network (phone only; no internet).
Its just over a year old and has started trying to connect to tmobile on the internet. It tries about once or twice /hr to connect. Sometimes, if I haven't used the phone for a few hours, I'll have to cancel several of these attempts to connect. Worst of all, if there are several cancels waiting and the phone rings, the HD2 locks up and I cannot answer the call. Removing the battery seems the only way to get the phone to work again.
I could flash a standard ROM but HTC tell me that will invalidate the warranty (and its already been back for repair once)
So is there some other way I can stop these attempts to connect to tmobile?
(I cannot find anywhere to remove the tmobile connection and it is not listed in connections)
If there's nothing in 'connection' settings, then it has nothing to connect too.
I can't quite remember the way to go there, but in connection settings, there is an option saying 'edit my connections'.
Tap and hold the connection and choose 'delete'
In the other screen there's the same connection name again, but with the option 'delete settings'.
That should do it.
I don't have my phone with me unfortunately (I wasn't running WM 6.5. anyway anymore ), but this should be some sort of the way to go there
Its probably because something is set to auto update every few hours.
Peep/email/weather/facebook/3rd party app etc etc..........
Make sure everything that can update is disabled.
If you dont use the phone for data then you could use something like "touch tools" or a similar app to disable the data connection.
As you said, you coukd flash a new rom, you can always flash back to stock if you need to send it in for repair.
HSPL it and flash the 1.66WWE ROM (or any custom ROM you like) - That'll get rid of the T-Mobile UK guff. Install NoData - which can stop all phone line data connections, but leave WiFi still operational.
I think the problem of random phone data connections is to do ActiveSync, on the phone, starting up. The only thing I noticed that it stopped after the 'clock going forward' problem's soloution of stopping the automatic Time Synchronisation. Once I downloaded HTC's solution and restarted the Time Synchronisation, the clock problem was gone but ActiveSync randomly started up again. So I stopped the Time Synchronisation. ActiveSync will start up when I connect to a PC, whether to sync with the PC or use as a DiskDrive.
I don't use ActiveSync on the phone to check for mail updates, as I have set my phone up to do that for myself.
KrewsialNL: There is nothing in Start->Settings->Connections->Connections->manage existing connections. Sadly it does not stop it trying to connect to t-mobile server. That is the problem
conantroutman: Possibly. However, when it is trying to connect, Task manager shows only activesync running.
fred-up: Flashing a standard ROM is fine; flashing the original RoM if the phone is broken could be tricky depending on the break!!! And how do I get to keep a copy of the original ROM?
It seems when it happens that connection manager and active sync are (generally) running running but what started them off. AFAIK, all updating applications are switched off. Ive noticed a few times 'Direct Push' is busy switching itself off (green to grey) but have no idea what switched it on. I dont use Outlook and all data services are switched off.
Any ideas what might be triggering this or it is an evil TMobile plot?
You don't need to keep a copy of the origional ROM as you can download it from HTC's website using the phone's serial number.
If you flash it via the SD Card method, then the HSPL will be removed. You could also flash it via the PC and then run HSPL2 and select the SPL version for the ROM you download (1.66.0000 for the T-MoUK 1.72 ROM).
I can't tell you if it is a T-MoUK evil plot because My T-MoUK HD2 lasted a week before I flashed it to the 1.66 WWE ROM (after flashing HSPL). T-MoUK took another couple of months to bring out their version of the 1.66 ROM (1.72).
Have you got any Live services installed (MSN or Hotmail) as these use the Direct Push?
Not AFAIK.
It was all fine until (roughly) its first birthday and then this problem. I have not installed anything for ages so I am confused.
HTC escalated this over 2 weeks ago and I have, as usual, heard nothing.
I think its probably ROM flashing time.
