i hav a gene 100 or a p3400..
it went dead two days back as i was listening to music..i charged it up again but it just didnt start.. When i press the power button, the green light lights up and nothing else happens...
PLLLLSSSSS help......

dead GENE- TRY THIS
We can hard reset the device just by pressing and holding both the " -" keys right above the answer and end keys and pressing the power button . It will run the ghost image and recover the device ...
note :
1) make sure your battery is more than 50 % charged .
2)you must do a power cycle in your device ( take out the battery , then press and hold the power button ) before you do a hard reset ...

Another P3400i bricked
I tried olipro spl on my p3400i and the screen went black.
later on i managed to get it to bootloader mode showing Olipro spl but unable to flash any rom everytime i have same error 300 'get newer update utility '
i tried mtty,htcflasher,hard reset without powering on but nothing works.
phone is stuck at bootloader screen .

Your battery is finished. I started getting that when my charger got messed up and starts taking power out of the battery instead of putting it in. Take out the battery,put it back in, then plug it to your PC and leave it there for a while.

you can do nothing.... i am also having the same problem..... only solution take it to a service centre and tell them to hard flash and reinstall the windows..... my p3400i is in the service centre right now... we cant flash p3400i .... i dont know why???

I too had taken my P3400i to service center but they did no solution Motherboard has be changed ??
and it cost 75%of a new P3400i

try to hard reset it and get the boot loader and flash with it the stock rom for p3400i i will give the link soon. my friend did it for me. then i send it to bangloure service centre, now waiting for their reply. They said that if we try to flash it our warranty will be void..... dont know what to do now.......

If you have not completed 14 days after buying the device, just take it to HTC service center sying that your device is not booting. At least in my case, those guys couldn't figure out what is the cause (see how efficient they are ) and I got a replacement !

I used the exact same HSPL ... and was able to upgrade to WM 6.1 ROM by cyan..

sorry to say its your mistake , you select the wrong Rom .
The 1.17.720 - ROM , its for p3400 not for p3400i
i dont have any solution for you,

i was planning to run gene_hspl_HT8x.exe but it failed.
i am also wish to update rom but for that we need to remove spl hspl first as someone said that newer version are locked for rom update.

i've heared that sony people are doing servicing of htc and they are authorized service centers.
you can surely try to catch them and tell them you messed up with the phone and need recovery and i think they will be able to solve your issue with some money they charge.

try pressing power key and camera button and press soft reset using stylus when you get into the boot loader try to flash with the stock ROM. Make sure that your SPL is changed to normal from orefklovs ... if the SPL is changed they will tell you that the warranty is void now. i got my board replaced after i flash with the stock ROM. which state are you living in? I think somebody has introduced an unbricker try that also..... my advice is dont do anything in excitement..... please study and research everything after that apply it in the phone....... gudluck.....

try again and again (press camera and power button together and soft reset with stylus) until you get into into the botloader screen... at once flash with original stock rom and make sure olipros SPL is changed to normal SPL.....it worked in my set... i dont know any details...

I ran hspl.exe. It's didn't restart but went off. I press soft reset now only bootloader is showing with ONBL 1.10.0000 and SPL 1.10.Olip. there is also RUU at the top right corner. What can I do now to flash another rom or get back my gene?

First try to remove the battery and then put it back in and try to switch it on see if it boots into the windows...if not then follow the step given below...
Download any custom rom for OLD gene and run the rom update utility (RUU) it will be back to normal...
Note : Most importantly don't panic ...even if the phone is taking its usual time to boot up it may seem longer cos we are worried....have patience...

Its normal thing that ur device got off after hspl.exe
it seems like u hv new gene....so now u should use Oref unbricker...
u just followed step 1....
so u should move on to step 2
which is unbricking gene by oref method

Do you already do a SPL unlock?
If yes, just flash with another ROM.
Go to bootloader by press and hold camera then reset, release reset but still hold camera untill tri color appear, connect usb cable to pc then flash again with another ROM.
How thing i have all ready done that?but show-me how i do to see if i done well

ur spl should end with .olip or .oref at the end instead of .0000
go to the tut given by Krazy and read many times use the tools and do the needful given in the same section viabhav has also given a tool
chek on both good luck

There is a thread named upgrading ... by krazy as well as a thread by vaibhav named automatic SPL Updater. Just search a bit, son.
or may be you can take the cell to haree who will patch it for you

After 6 hours of trying to change spl to flash the rom i haven´t manage to do anything more ist´s exactaly the same that i have all ready i have download a lot´s o rom´s and nothing i have tried the to do updating the spl by the sd card and nothing happen because i can´t put anything in the memory of the phone i only can put thing in the card from my computers card reader to trying to change the spl to 1.10-Olipro to flash the rom but i can´t
I don´t no what i have do more?

u go to the below links and save them on ur comp and Read no one is going to hand hold u and u dont need it with such nice tutes given pls not im a guy with Zero tech skills and i did it so u can as my boss would say its not rocket science

you have only done 50% hspl, if you are sure your Gene is New
u can also use @fusioncoast

just a suggestion Viabhav has provided a tool to chek if ur phone is old or new use it and he has also provided the HSPL tool also try it it will tell u wether ur phone is new or old

now the phone does not reboot after updating Rom
i was successfull in updating the ROm, but after clicking finish....the phone should retart
but it does not restart
tried manual restarting.....
tried hard reset
nothing works

1.off the phone & take the battery out
2. press the power button on the phone for a few secs after removing battery
3.put battery back in the phone
4. press& hold camera button & then power button this will give u tricolor
use USB and Flash a new ROM
if ur sure ur SPL is .olip then Flash with old gene ROM or look in this same site besfen has also provided the orginal wm6 ROM u can also try the same

When I attach my niki in bootloader mode with my pc and the i try to do hardspl there comes white screen showing a bar 0% but it did not go ahead like other htc it stays on and after some time there come an error 262 saying this
the rom update utility has encountered a communication error during the update process........etc
i also acted step b step on the guidence of this program but in vain so plez help me how can i hard spl my niki to upgrade new rom ......plzzzzzzzzz

if u have already spl 1.5 on ur device then,after runing hard spl 1.22,the moment u c the tri colour on ur device,take the data cable off from pc.when u c 'serial' on ur device,insert the cable again.the process will be complete.

is ur device sim unlocked?moreover i think u have already hard spl installed on ur device pal.
