I will start with my story: I have a qtek S200 and i have make a mistake i think? a friend off my set that i cane use every rom for your phone. So i have putt this a Vincent rom on it. (that's the only thing i know)
Now i want a new rom but, every Rom for a Prophet that i tray on my S200 stops by the Red/Green/Blue screen.
Can some wane help me to get a working Rom for me or a fix for this problem.

the problem. You haven't HARDSPL your Device.
Now, go to bootloader mode and flash PDAVIETTemp ,which can be found here.
PDAVIET TEMP
and HARDSPL your Device.
once you HARDSPL your device. SPL information should be 2.G4.4PDA for PPC G4 or 2.G3.4PDA for PPC G3.
Read WIKI. What is SPL. And how to go to bootloader mode.

2. FORCE BOOLOADER MANUALLY, (very important )
3. Flash NVID for Prophet
4. after restart and activesync,
5. use my Lazy_tool to flash any rom you like....

PDA Viet Temp is just to make you back to WM5 no vendor.
To hardspl your device. Read here.
You can HARDSPL your device. Or use lazytool from youzi. Posted from dioxda2.
Lazytool is using softspl.

from the wiki, there is a sentence missing after "To enter bootloader, you need to hold the comm manager button and soft reset."
that is " then release the stylus and keep pressing the comm. button until you see the bootloader screen"

Don't worry, both way can do.
1. Flash with the tool included in your favorite rom package.
2. or change the nk.nbf in the Lazy_Tool will do ,too.

It's long, I admit, but if you did you would not be posting this now! However, knowing how anxious you must be by now, follow the steps below (which have been posted before in the unlocker thread).
Get one of the ROMs in this link and extract it

Get your device into bootloader (the three-colour screen; BTW it is Camera+Volume+Reset)
Connect it to PC (the SERIAL on the screen will change to USB)
Hit the ROM Upgrade Utility and upgrade your device.
When you finish, configure your device.
Then continue with the Unlocker, to the end.
(Always check first what you might need to do in case it goes wrong).

you have to put the 7500 in Bootloader mode ( Reset+Camera button).
And then Flash a Rom

But after i done to see 3 colors i have doubt i what G3 or G4 update rom to use

I didn't do anything. This is factory setup
This is never locked on any network Qtek . it works 100%.
I just want to upgread it to WM6

1. "old method" for "old roms"
= Flash PVtemp (everytime), then upgrade wm6 (must follow my steps.......in my post),
2. "new method" for "new roms"
= Flash HardSPL (only needed once), then upgrade to wm6 or 6.1

That iS the point! You HAVE to prepare your S200 first before you can upgrade to WM6. With only factory defaults you are NOT able to succeed.
So I second dioxda2's advice:
read all the guides, WIKI's and other relevant information here before you dive into the deep... But hee, afterall its your phone....

So if i download gullum ROM Prophet XB
First to do ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G3.exe
and after that Upgrade_ROM.bat
if i get it correctly
i did hardspl
and after i'm trying to install touchXB i get
Copying C:\DOCUME~1\MARKO~1.TEK\Desktop\QTEK\PROPHE~2\itsutils.dll to WCE:\windows\ItsUtils.dll
Could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe it is inuse?

this is a common error when the pathname is to long. Copy the Folder to your rootdirectory (C:\) of your PC and run upgrade.bat from that location.

That too is a common problem, with this version of WM6 password just don't "stick". The problem is with all WM6 ROM's of that generation, not only the one you flashed. There is no solution, just don't use a password. The newest ROM's seem to have solved this issue, but I can't confirm that because I don't use a password anyway.
So, now you are stuck. Do a Hard Reset and configure your device again.
i saw lot of people have dead prophet problem, so i am here now to make a new thread to all this people and i hope to make it useful.

** SECOND : we must know that before we trying to do any updating or change roms on my prophet i just need to do which called unlock for the prophet and then we after that been able to change any rom on my ( jamin ) and of course u need to be careful about Your device is it G4 or G3 ,
# and how we know its G4 Or G3 ?
# when u start Your Device u will see some numbers on left,

and may be changed and that goes to the rom which You have, now we look for the last number on ( IPL and SPL ) , if we found it ( 0 ) it means You r G3 and if it ( 1 ) so You r G4 .
** THIRD : lets go to unlock , i will put programs in this thread it will help u in unlock.
-- Sync your device with computer and open the file u download it called HardSpl you will find two files one one foe G3 and G4 open your kind then you'll find a file called (( hardspl.bat )) okay, be sure your device is connected to computer then open the file and follow instruction and it will reset your device ,
now u ready to change rom.

What is the IPL and SPL?
If the wiki where up, I'd suggest looking at that, but as it is I'll explain it now...
What ROM where you attempting to upgrade to?
To get the device back, I would say "Read the wiki" but it's down!!!
Download this ROM.
In ActiveSync, disable "connect through USB" (File->Connection Settings).
Put the device into bootloader (the three coloured screen) and connect it to the computer using the USB cable.
Run the file you downloaded earlier. This should then install a new ROM.
From there, just wait for it to finish.
Now, it should work!
From there, you could re install the Orange WM5 ROM, or try upgrading to WM6. Make sure you read all the relevant guides first!

hi again brothers, pal zerocool. first u must unlock ur device to be able to accept any rom after that and solve pproblems.
first flash this rom its offecial and it solve dead prophet problems.
then make hard spl by program open file called hardspl.bat.
make hard reset.
flash ur rom u want.
make hard reset again.
then enjoy.
i uploaded the hardspl program but i couldnt upload the rom its so big so u can look in ur mail u will find the solution.
u can extract file by any program for zip.and tell me the news

Dead prophet
Hi guys,
I have been using a sh... Nokia sine I broke my prophet G4 in december by upgrading the OS.
I had downgraded first to NVID and then I tried to upgrade and it fails at 95%.
Sine this day, my prophet seem totally dead, no light when plug on both charger or computer, windows do not recognize at all the device because it is turned off. And it really do not seem to charge...
I am living in China now and a guy told me I had to change the PB board...The ost is 100Euros, but I am almost sure I an find another solution...
The weird thing is I cannot charge it at all ( I mean no lights but does it charge a little?).
The guy tested my prophet with another battery and in that ase, it is stuck on the bootloader.
We tried several roms and it always fails at 95% and the error is 200 something, maybe 245 or 243, I do not remember sorry...
Is my phone hardware is dead? or it is just a software problem and I did not see the right guy?
Do I need to buy a new battery? I have read that sometimes the device is not able to recognize it even if it the offiial one and even if it is working on another device...
PLease help me I don't want to loose this phone that I've been using for almost 3 years...
Otherwise I will switch to an iphone but I am not sure to be as happy than I was with my prophet.

Can it enter bootloader at all?
If yes, what are the IPL and SPL?
If not, it will be a hardware problem (may just be connectors to the battery but may be something more).
the only way of recovery is using jtag
but 1st we must discover the location of jtag pins on motherboard
I just do not know because with my actual battery, anything is possible....
when I tried with the guy and a new battery it was blocked on the bootloader, but don't remember the IPL and SPL...sorry
I may be right about the battery onnectors though, but the problems seem to be from the phone connectors or the battery it self???

If it can enter bootloader, it is almost certainly your battery at fault!
Ok so i burnt my battery during the upgrade...
But why is it still blocking at 95% when he tried to put a rom?
With his battery, it was stuck on the bootloader and not possible to install a rom, even a NVID WM5...
I really do not know what to do...

Hi I have looked through all the threads and cannot find any help can some one help I tried to flash my rom and now the imate is stuck on the bootloaders screen ? Red, Green,Blue with IPL 1.00 and SPL 2.13 but it will not connect via USB to recover. I have tried all the steps shown but with no connection its not working. Thanks in advance and I hope someone can help.

1. try my post @ my signature, since your device had not done HARDSPL,
steps are:-
1. choose your favourite nk.nbf (from new rom) and put in the the folder of my tool ( that you had downloaded to your PC),
2. force Prophet into bootloader manually ------> very very important,
3. plug to PC and you should see the " USB" on the Prophet screen,
4. double click "upgrade.bat" from my lazy tool,
5. wait, and follow the on screen instruction,
6. DONE

That won't work as your tool needs an active sync connection!
Please read this: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Prophet_recovery
follow it, and then after that, dioxdas tool will work.
I did my first flash a few days ago, eventually i had the same problem you have, I downloaded the original rom for my phone from an ftp (forgot the link) and it flashed successfully (no other rom was working!) from bootloaders screen then upgraded back to wm6.1 Hope this helps!

I am a noob in this area. I am reading the forum for the last days and trying to upgrade my i-mate jamin G3 but i always get stuck...
I started this thread as it involves more than one thread I read, namely
- Windows Mobile 6 Directory For Dummies
- New WM6 Upgrade Guide
- HardSPL guide and files
- Prophet Tools Light: Just the flash! & Prophet Tools: Simplify Flashing--V2.8.3 now up!
- Current upgrade guide for the most ROMs
- LAZYTOOL For all nk.nbf FLASHING + 3 color bootup SOLUTION + (PLEASE READ.........)
- WM 6.5 build 21501 Titanium [ Fixed ] & Fixed CommManager, and other ROMs I tryed...
- ...
so here it goes:
#1# I tryed to run HardSPL an I got an error message like this:
'One or more CON code pages invalid for your given keyboard'
so i guess i didn't work...
#2# then I tryed with ProphetTools and after doing the HardSPL it asks (in jamin) to run JumpSPL I click on yes and then I get white screen (in jamin) I click the flash rom and then I get either:
- error 260 or 274 - connection - this sometimes is worked around and got to 208
or/then
- error 208 - file open (and I did put the nk.nbf rom file in ...\Tools (as said on PTL) and also tryed in ...\Utils\Flash)
#3# While in white screen (achieved with PTL) I also tryed ROM 21501 (with its own RUU) and I get 3 colour screen after supposedly successful upgrade...
#4# also tryed lazyTool but got the same 3 colour screen
#5# With the no vendor NVID_RUU (got from lazy tool thread) I got it back to WM5 and working, pitfully i forgot to dump my original rom so now i am stuck in WM5 in English (i at least had it in Portuguese - my native L)...

So any of senior experts plz advice

My SPL only shows:
IPL 2.13
SPL 2.20
im a total noob here too but i never encountered the same prob as you have.. i see SPL 2.20 right... so if you want to flash a ROM from here its required that you do HardSPL. i have a G3 device too. you might want to try this... i will try to help as much as i can...
make sure your USB cable/cradle is working perfectly and try to attached it at the back of your PC CPU...
and btw are you using XP or VISTA? coz i use XP...
just RUN HardSPL and let it do its thing... when its done check your SPL again..

I just got another USB cable borrowed and tried the HardSPL you uploaded and it Worked
Actually It gave me the same error message about 'One or more CON code pages invalid for your given keyboard' but this time I didn't got the 3colour screen at the end, instead it restarted normally with SPL 2.G3
I am just waiting battery charge reaches 50% to try flashing it
