Last FM Mobile - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

This app is sweet and works with DCD 3.2.5 on my 6800. Very similar to Pandora if you have heard of that. Check it out. I can stream the stereo audio with bluetooth through my car's stereo.

Can you post your cab, the download site gives me a 404 error for both the PC and mobile download links.

Here you go.

This program does not work on DCD 3.2.5. I get a parameter error:
The parameter is incorrect.
at WMPLib.IWMPPlayer4.set_stretchToFit()

I would love to use this program but I don't know how to fix this....

Not sure how to fix that error but it definatley works on DCD 3.2.5 because that is what I am running.

hmmm interesting, I wish I could get more help with this....

You might get more help if you tell everyone what phone you have and carrier etc. Do you have a login for Last.fm? You have to have a login which you can get on their website. Once you have that you can enter it on your PPC to login. without a login it won't work. FYI.

This works great!! Thanks.

does this app scrobble?

Ok.
Verizon XV6800
Rom: DCD 3.2.5
Radio: 3.42.50
I do not have a Last.fm Login but I don't see how that would matter if the app won't launch due to the error I posted earlier.

Hey there try this...Last.FM mobile has been renamed to pocket scrobbler. It is the same thing but less buggy etc. You can find instructions on how to make sure it is all setup correctly here. I have also attached the .cab for pocket scrobbler.
http://www.last.fm/group/Pocket+Scrobbler/forum/84480/_/379147

Thank you very much. Works like a charm. This app is great!

For what it's worth, the last.fm app -didn't- work for me until I logged into the application.

**** this scrobller thing works greater

I understand this app is open source. Any chance some of our great developers could bring some polish to it. Maybe even Slide2Play could incorporate the code?
I miss album art in particular.
Surur

this app called lastradio jus works better. smoother and the stream starts much faster. only thing though, you can only choose one artist at a time and it plays based off that selection. so if i pick tupac....now i get all rap stuff, if i pick marvin gaye...now i get all soul music. wish it could pick up my specific station so i could get the variety without having to manually switch the artist.
if that wasn't the case with this app, it would be beating pocket scrobbler, but it is the case.....so it's a absolute draw. This app is just as good as pocket scrobbler for the fact that there's no jumps in the music. just smooth.

using pocketunes
I tried this lastfm and while it works it is so much better to purchase or get pocketunes. works great, fast and stable
just my 2cents

i had a last.fm mobile page that streamed into an external player while showing the now playing in the mobile page. i lost the link and cant find it. any idea what it might have been?

GPS Not working, am I missing something...

First off let me say GREAT JOB by DCD and Co... I'm a former 6700 user (used to mod over at PPC6700users) and just recently upgraded to the Mogul... I'm new to the whole kitchen thing and with ease was able to use the new kitchen 2.3.0... Again, thanks to DCD and all other who contributed... I cannot begin to express how much we all appreciate the hard work and support you guys provide us...
Now to the question:
As mentined earlier, I have recently updated to 2.3.0 and as well updated the radio to 3.27.00... For some reason I am not able to get a lock with GPS... Can any one assist...?
I'm not sure if I missed something somewhere (the search feature in this forum is not the greatest). I have searched high and low with no luck...
Thanks in advance...
1st time take long time, u need to leave it outside running for 30 minutes and connect using GPS Immediate Driver.
Also, try making a couple of calls from your Mogul and let it connect to the call for a couple of minutes. Mine wouldn't get a lock until I made a phone call. Maybe, it needs to register your location thru whatever cell site it connects thru. Although, that's just my own opinion, not really sure, but after I made a few calls, Google maps found me in less than a minute.

I didn't know it would take that long... I had read previous post where people said it connected within a minute but sure enough I set it by the window went and had dinner and there they were, 4 pretty little satelites waiting for me when I checked...
I guess I was too impatient... ;O)
Thanks to both for the advise... Let me learn my way around this mogul and who know's, maybe one day I can return the favor...

You can always warm up the GPS with software.
GPSLAUNCHER is to warm up the GPS to work with Tom Tom. This application launches Tom Tom after it warms up the GPS.
Just extract and copy to your device -- \windows\start menu\programs
GPSVIEWER1.5 is for other applications such as google maps and so on.
This one is installed through your computer ( I believe )
If you need assistance feel free to ask.
Excellent... I'll give it a try...
Does 2.3.0 have aPGS enabled by default?
If not, go to HLKM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS
Set GPSMode to 4
Also, I would find and install QuickGPS.
Give that a shot and see if it speeds up your locks
Got GPS Working on VZW XV6800
I followed all the instructions:
Installed latest Unlocker (Hard-SPL-240-MFG.exe)
Installed latest Radio (Titan_Radio_3.27.00.exe )
Install DCD 2.3.1 (downloaded from this link): Size=37.16Mb
http://www.fileshex.com/download.php?file=1426af0da72a82fe758300e3980f7520
Got everything up and running. (Following directions from XDA forums)
Couldn't make a phone call. Send an SMS, or search the net on IE.
Figured out I needed to call Verizon for an A-key. (Authentication Key)
She asked why i needed it and I told her "i am doing some Windows Mobile sftware developing and had to do multiple HARD resets throughout the day). She said no prob and talked me through the A-key entry using ##778(I think its that. dont worry, CS will talk you through without hesitation.
Anyway. make sure you write the A-key down when customer service gives it to you cause its suppose to be the one assigned to your Phone number and should work every time you need to enter it. If it doesn't then just call them back and give them the same story and they will give you another A-key.
that fixed the data connection problem.
BTW: upgrading the Software deleted my Data connection password and user name.
Password is (Your 10 digit [email protected]) password is (VZW).
NOW, i am back to working conditions and DCD 2.3.1 is awesome.
Love the Iphone style SMS conversation format. Lets you view each conversation you have with a person in a straight separate list of texts. no more need to hop back and forth between Sent Box and Inbox to decipher conversations.
SO, everything works EXCEPT GPS. had all the settings right. like Location ON in Setting, Phone, Services Tab, Click on Location Settings, Get Settings, select "Location ON". Had Com 5 selected on software in external GPS settings. Hardware set to "None" 4800 Baud. Still nothing.
Google Maps keeps showing that its searching for satellites but to no avail.
Finally, came across a post about a free program called "GPS Today" Looked cool so gave it a shot.
Sure as **** it worked immediately. Got 5 satellites connected and there was the little blue dot on top of my house!!! YEEE HAAA
After a little trial and error i figured out the program.
Still i wanted Google Maps to work with GPS.
BA BA BA BAAAAAAA! I turned on Google Maps and all of a sudden it picked up 5 satellites and I was up and running.
Bottom line, I think GPS Today did something and it got Google Maps to start using GPS.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PUT UP AWESOME POSTS.
I think I might be retarded...
I did everything I think I was supposed to do, I unlocked, flashed the radio, then flashed DCD's ROM...
My screen says:
ROM Version dcd2.3.1
Radio Version 3.27.00
but, I can't get the GPS to work with TomTom6...
I tried using the GPSLauncher, AstroGPSLauncher, and QuickGPS...
Any ideas?

It will answer all your questions about GPS with Tom Tom
Everything seems to be in order now... Thanks everyone for all the advise... Now I'm going to play around and find an app that I like... I've tried TomTom (don't like it)... GoogleMaps is very basic but to be honest I'm looking for something a bit basic but functional as well which gMaps is not that functional as a GPS software plus it downloads from the net which seems to be a bit laggy... I'll find something but suggestions are welcome too...
Thanks again everyone...

When asking for help, would it be helpful to let others know what you are looking for in a GPS software? Basic but functional isn't a very good description.
TomTom6 paired with AstroGPSLauncher is a great combination. I don't have to start GMaps or other program to get the GPS going, I have GPS that doesn't have to have a data connection, for when I'm in the U.P. and there is no signal.
GoogleMaps is Basic in the sense that it is a 2D Map, which I like for use on the phone... Let's face it, this phone has a lot going on in the background besides just the GPS and Map app which to me makes it a bit slow and less responsive than normal when trying to process the graphical 3D maps... I don't need 3D mapping, virtual views or anything like that... A 2D Map is perfect... but GooleMaps lacks TTS, a decent search engine, Route recalculation, etc... which are characteristics of a good GPS unit... I like MioMaps for the fact that you can change your means of trasportation from car to bus to taxi to bike to pedestrian, etc, etc, etc... These types of options make more sence to me on a mobile device such as our phones since we could be traveling and need to switch from one means to another...
I'm going to look into MioMaps and see... but in the mean time, if anyone has other suggestions or experience with MioMaps on the Titan, your input would be greatly valued...
Keep on cookin'...

Hey... I think I remember you as "davidew98" on PPC6700users... am I right? We had all kinds of fun trying to dissect the 6700 through QPST... still have the thread bookmarked in Firefox.
I'll throw in a plug for Odyssey Mobile (http://www.infogation.com) as a navigation program that I really like. It came bundled with my Holux GPSlim 236 BT unit that I bought after I gave up on getting internal GPS to work with the 6700. The only thing it's missing that the others like TomTom have is text-to-speech... it doesn't say "Turn right on Main Street" but instead just says "Turn right in 200 feet". Other than that it does everything else really well.
And, I have had zero problems with it working with the 6800's internal GPS... just point Odyssey at COM port 4 and it just works... no launcher or "priming" required.

Pandora for CDMA???

i have been tryin to read everything i can to understand these phones..... this is my first PPC and i have had it about a month. i just figured out the compact framework to 3.5 to get other apps. so please dont flame
on to my question.... i just downloaded the pandora cab from the software thread and everyone is sayin its not a VGA version.....not to sure on that. when i opened the app everything is super small and the pictures are all out of place. am i doin everything right here???
sprint touch pro
A couple things...
The radio version of your phone (GSM vs CDMA) has nothing to do with the Pandora ap.
Secondly, what everyone is telling you about it not being VGA is correct. That's why the pictures are small and screwy.
That is as good as it gets until they decide to fix it... at least it still works.
thanks for your help.....so can i use apps from just the CDMA thread or i can go to Raphael software and use those too???
It depends on what the application does.
Think of it this way...
Your phone is like a Dell Computer running XP.
Any program designed to run on XP will work, but if the program is strictly for Dell Computers, it will only work if you have a Dell.
CDMA or GSM is like the Dell Computer part of it.
Any application that is designed to run on a PPC/WinMobile will work on your phone.
But if the application is designed for a specific brand... like unlocking the GPS feature on a VZW Touch Pro, or a custom ROM for the ATT Fuze, you don't even think about running it unless you've got that exact model or you're willing to brick your phone.
Hope that helps.

[App]SleepTimer_beta[2010-02-24]Close your media players

This app is an simple sleep timer.
You can choose 5 to 120 minutes which automaticly closes your running media player.
supportet Players are:
wmplayer
nitrogen
coreplayer
slide2play
manila player
kinoma
currently no supported, but in work:
- HTC FM Radio
- Slacker Radio
It is not pretty, and some bugs may still be in it, because its a beta
Well, feel free to test it.
Suggestions are highly appreciated.
//edit:
UPDATE V0.2.1
added kinoma
Just what I need.
Will be good if it runs like a toggle app instead (running in background)
Yep, I'm working on it. But I have no clue how I make this...
But this function will be included in the next version.
I was expecting this for a long time.
Could you please kindly add Kinoma Play in the list.
Many thanks.
Of course!
btw. in a later version you can choose which programs you want to shut down.
I have add Kinoma. You can download now V0.2.1 from above.
If you think you player has to be in the list, you can make my work easyer by using you favorite taskmanager. I've added my taskmanager too.
Just start your player, minimize it, start the taskmanager and search a process named like you player. Thats the name i need
Tanks alot!
have added it to 1800PocketPC

If you don't mind, i have shared your app in wmfreeware.net
Drop me a comment if you have anything to add or in case i have missed out anything.
Thanks for such nice app.
This is great!
The more people use the software, the sooner it is done.
S2P has already a timer (using S2U2), but it's GREAT app !
Congratulations
See you.
Maybe it has a timer... haven't use it
but without s2p, the list will never be complete
but thanks for this hint!
PicHunter,
It works fine with Kinoma Play. Thanks.
This small app is nice and very useful.
Maybe, the graphics could be improved just a little bit... Maybe black instead of white would be nice.
Also,
do you think it is possible to add the htc FM Radio?
thanks
I try to add HTC FM radio, should be not big deal.
wapvirus has already made some graphics, an I will include them in the next time.
Graphics and a minimize function are planned for the next big update.
//Edit:
woops... seems to be a bigger deal then I tought.... HTC FM Radio is closed, but not the sound ? well, I'll work on it.
great ! looking forward to seeing it.

New Windows Mobile Bing App! Updated 04/14/2010 Cab Inside.

New Windows mobile Bing app is here!
No clear changlog is out yet.
"It's almost difficult to say how many Windows Phone owners prefer to use Microsoft's own Bing app as opposed to Google's. Luckily for those users who happily rely on using the Bing app, there is an update that brings the app to version 5.1.2010. It's unfortunate that Verizon Windows Phone owners can't get in on this update – that's because it only is available to Windows Phones on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. It's not to say that it's a bad thing for those Verizon owners because it looks to be only a maintenance update and doesn't really offer anything exciting..........."
source: Twitter via WMExperts
I uploaded the Cab here so everyone can download...even us Verizon users that got left out
This cab is for Windows Mobile 6.1 or 6.5.
Cheers!
If its any help this is version
Bing Mobile 5.1.2010.3290
Previous was
5.0.11249.0
Its alot quicker than the previous version and they have moved the menus to the bottom. I cant see much change.
I still prefer the old Bing/Live Search layout and configuration.
Movie times used to be so easy to browse, with the new style it does a bing search instead of getting the data from a provider. I think MS decided to cheap out. It's now basically useless in my books.

Yeah, but isn't the Diamond WM 6.1?
I tested it on 6.1, but don't see why i won't work upwards, maybe the two are different versions indeed for different OS.
Mine worked on VGA TouchPro WM 6.1
i cant save 'gps tracking.' it remains unchecked everytime i check the settings. therefore gps is unable to locate me. this pop up always shows everytime i attempt to locate my position, "allow bing to access and store your location to improve searching and for navigation?" it doesnt matter if i chose ok or cancel because there are no change in results regardless. google maps is working fine for me so im sure its not a gps issue from my phone.

Does bbc iplayer radio (flash) work?

Hey,
I'm wondering if the hero can play radio content from bbc iplayer website? I've heard that there are performance issues with videos on iplayer, but is radio OK?
(By the way, I know about the beebplayer app, which is great for video, but AFAIK doesn't play radio shows from iplayer, the only radio it had on the version I looked at is live radio. So I'm asking about listening to iplayer radio shows using the iplayer website.)
If anyone in the UK want's to try this out for me that'd be great. Here's a link to a radio show from yesterday, so if this works hopefully everything will:

(I'm a new user so can't post links, that should have a "www" at the start of it really.)
Oooh, also, could someone check out whether this works on the hero:
news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_8633000/8633988.stm
It's another clip of radio from the bbc, but looks completely different from iplayer, so could be using a different tech for all I know. (This is how they include audio clips in their news articles, including on the Today program's site where they have all the interview from each show listenable individually, which is pretty handy.)
Thanks!
Paul
Tried listening to 1xtra from the iplayer website yesterday,... No sound played.
Trying your links now though,... give me a few minutes.
I have just tried your first link in the stock browser.
Results are as follows:
- loading
- loading seems to freeze
- loading again
- loaded details of show (no sound yet)
- seems as though its trying to play but keeps refreshing its little window
Error - "Insufficient bandwidth to play"
This could be as I only have 2 bar 3g or following BBC's guidance you need wifi connection.
It looks like it wants to work though so if someone can test with a wifi connection.....
Nope,... Im trying with wi-fi,... No luck though. The 1st link loads up correctly, says its playing, but there is no sound and the time counter does not change.
Was the same using my data connection yesterday.
I'll try the 2nd one now,.... Dont get your hopes up.
Nope,.... Sorry,... Its a no go.
Just keeps loading, and loading,.... and loading!!!!
EDIT,....... Tried with Opera and says need to install Flash player,.... DAMIT!!!! All i want to do is listen to 1xtra,... and BeebPlayer doesn't work for me. Maybe we'l get a better browser with 2.1,.... or we'll have to hold out for Skyfire to be released.
That sucks. Thanks for trying though, and for the very speedy replies
beebplayer app now supports radio! only in the last few days though. oh and you will need the new version.

Unfortunately flash 10.1 isn't coming to the hero, because it's not fast enough:

While talking about beeb player, does it work on android 2.1 yet? (videos)
