I've tried several versions of wm6.1 and the animation in boot screen doesn't work.
Does anybody know why

which splash screen are you trying to animate, 1st, 2nd or 3rd? and what file format is it?
edit: ive tried everything too, using adv config 3.0 the animated part does not show, so not sure it is poss with a prophet (it is on my t.cruise). Dont know if anyone can make a wee cab up to allow animated giff on 3rd splash screen... i'll look a bit more
Ok i was trying to animate the second (splash) screen Gif and when i was runnig wm6 it was working fine updated to 6.1 and now animated splash won,t work (tested several roms) if i change the splash to a fixed picture ie. PNG it works fine

I've noticed that on some newly released roms there is a startup animation integrated.
It would be interesting how to ad this animation to an existing rom.
Maybe one of the "romgods" here could give a tip which files and regkeys are needed.
Im dreaming of a cool startup maybe with sound.
Is it only a dream?

I think there must be a way to integrate this animation to any wanted WM6 rom. But i stuck in findig thr right files and reg keys.

third file could have been animated but it is not a gif and there is no way png would animate and one should not soft reset too often ,and animated flash file today plugin already exist.
I have not been able to get one single theme / homescreen to load properly on my 3125. Still WM5 of course.
It is as if it pushes the image too far to the top so I have a black bar under all my backgrounds above the start menu.
I have a before and after image here.
The "hottie.jpg" is what it is supposed to look like
The "Lauren_Pope.jpg" is a picture of my phone with the homescreen installed.
Every homescreen I have tried does this. Notice the how the image looks pushed to the top of smashed and there is a black bar above the start menu.
Works fine on my phone. Just check if color scheme and background image in home screen menu are set to default.
(Im using the latest Cingular ROM.)
I think the reason I was having this problem was I was changing the background image. I found that if I leave it as "default" the theme works fine.

My favorite all time homescreen
This is my favorite homescreen I used this for several years back in the MPX200 days!!! I would like to share it with you guys.. There is one problem and I hope someone can fix it. The image / homescreen is 176x220 so it doesn't "FIT" the 240x320 newer smartphone size.
Hope you guys like it if you fix it please repost it here.!!!

This exact problem also exists on the Dash WM5 and is corrected on the WM6 release for the Dash. It seems to be a bug in the Settings/HomeScreen program that miscalculates the size of the image (making it too small) when choosing a background image other than Default.
First of all, I know this information has got to be here somewhere within the confines of XDA-Developers, however, I am at a loss. Therefore, I pre-apologize if this is redundant.
One of the first roms that I tried for my TG01 had an animated splash screen with sound! I would really like to put an animation both on the boot and the normal splash screen before windows mobile starts. Would someone be able to point me in the correct direction?

Contact Nokser, his ROMs only have animated boot up...
Just search for "animated splash wvga", or look HERE to start with.
If you use a rom with an animated spash just copy over the existing animation with a new one.
If not use Advanced Config to choose the file location.

I think the TG01 is differnet.
I have tried everything like that, I absolutely can not get the animated splash screen to work. Hmm... Nokser must have done his homework cuz I think that is a tough thing to get working on the TG01.
I will message him, see if I can find the secret!

I had a go at this. There are nasty dotted lines at the top and bottom of the animation after it's resized. Will check into it later and see if I can fix.
this would be awesome to get a hold of ... if anyone can make it for this screen res, it would be great !
+2, this is the best boot animation I have seen and would love to have it ported to the atrix. any takers out there ?
I made a custom animation for my CM7 modded Galaxy SII (AT&T).

The zip contains the animation, with only two frames included (of the 200+), which is what I am currently testing, but it doesn't seem to work- the boot screen stays blank until it just loads the home screen.
I have tested other animations, and they work fine.
Anyone mind taking a super-duper quick peek into the zip and tell me if I perhaps mis-configured the desc.txt
I did test the animation with success using the Boot Animation Previewer 2.0 Beta (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133703).
RESOLVED -
Seems my 24-bit images were not liked by the phone for some reason, which were batch-processed with Irfanview. I re-saved all png's using an Action in Photoshop, via Safe for Web, PNG-24, with transparency disabled. It worked that way.
