There is no non experimental rom taken from x7510. X7510 is a different hardware, so rom taken from it has to be moded for x7500/x7501, to change drivers for hardware in those devices. As moded, means experimental. All roms released here are stamped with "no respnsibility" tag, which means they are experimental.
Thanks, I understand that everything is experimental, but what is closest to 7510 and relatively stable?

Soagarth's base rom is stable, but it is a mixture of x7510 rom and some apps from dimond. If you want to have pure x7510 rom moded for x7500, you should take Sogarth's HiperCore kitchen and remove all dimond staff and then cook a rom yourself.
Thanks. Being a starter here, I will not try a kitchen myself and focus on SPL 1.2. Is one of the Irus adaptions of Soagarth or Taxist ROM (partly) based on the 7510 and suitable for me?

All of the roms for X7500 are partly based on X7510 (more or less). Only Irus can tell how much was from X7510 and how much from other devices like Dimond.

What do you think is the best NIKE rom out there?
I'd say tom codon, the last version is excellent, has a lot of fonctionalities and most important, no bugs. So far the best rom I've ever tried.
u got a link or something? with rom specific? tnx
it's called Niki project rom editor v2.1.3.
also depends on what u are looking for. More features=takes up more memory. Lighter rom=more space available
Mary 3.3 is my fav
I like niki project 2.1.3 too. But I think Tom bought a Diamond and he will not update his Rom anymore...
Mary 6.1 for sure, the Manila 2d it's an awesome improvement for the NIKI !!!

New Mary v.6.1 OS 5.2.20748 (Build 20748.1.4.0)
Manilla 2D Time
Im with the others that Tom's Niki Project 2.1.3 ROM is the best out there at the moment however as previously stated Tom has upgraded to a Diamond so there is no more development going into that ROM.
If you want a ROM that is still being updated then you cant really go wrong with the Various Mary ROMs by hellonasty, pretty lightweight and fast however I found that I needed to install most of the applications that are in Tom's ROM by default anyway so changed back.
I have looked for the answer but did not find it on the the wiki or forums
what are the main differences between the different build of 6.1 i.e. 20273 and 20748 and later, anyone know what has changed? some kind of changelog would be nice, so we can decide if its worth upgrading or not...
try actually lookin on the rom pages there is a change log in each of the custom roms there

We dont have any real change logs for the WM builds, MS does not put them out.
But each custom rom has its down change logs.
(20748 adds flash lite v3.1, and some enhancements to IE, we know that much)

Can FB and or FT also put their hands to this? FT's Rom for Vox is particularly and unbelievably stable.
I am going to attempt to dump a stock 6.1 rom into visual kitchen and then try and replace the 6.1 sys with 6.5, hopefully this will work I have not attempted anything this involved to date.
My plan will be to try and port the latest stable 6.5 build, including the 6.5 kernel, however in my brief search the only 6.1 base I can find is an old beta test version that has some known bugs but I am hoping that the newer 6.5 bits and pieces will fix these.
If anyone has a stable, bug free 6.1 base let me know.
Any other help would be welcomed, I will try and update my progress going forward if anyones interested, if not I will keep it to myself, lol
After some help now, I am in the position where I am able to dump a stock 6.0 rom, the plan is to then port the sys and xip from one of the 6.5 builds probably 23037.
The question is how do I know or specify which spl the rom with end up with?

I think that depends on the spl the rom had that you dumped....also, it can depend on the donor xip

I am hoping that it is from the donor xip, as I am in the process of flashing my first ported 6.5 rom and dont really want it bricked on my first attempt.
Well after another few hours of work I have finally got a base kitchen to work from and have successfully ported a 23001 6.5rom to the x7500.
I will do some more refinements to it now, and then possibly look into a later sys and xip build.
If anyone wants to beta test, let me know, but I must stress that this is a learning process for me and therefore I cannot take any responsibility for bricks etc.
Hi there!
I need a working ROM for my HTC Touch Pro.
I found one (hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470164) but that one was posted in 2007 so the download file is long gone from the internet! It was a ROM with a Stock market tab in FT3D.
I've read the rules and the Wiki but still I can't find what I'm looking for on this forum because of the many ROM's people have made! Don't get me wrong: I think that's great but I need help locating the right manilla that can be downloaded! Or point me in the direction were to look!
Thanks for your help! and greetingz from Holland
Mike
Er...

Most of the roms offer one or the other.
perrsonally i recommend energy rom... they're wonderful.

Oké! Thanks for your replay. I've read somewere that manilla 2.6 is still in beta?
I know (from the wiki) that I have a HTC "Raphael" (touch pro...duh! ) but I see a lot of ROM's for the Diamond and pro 2 aswell! Do they all work fine on the Touch pro to? As a newbie I don't know were to look for when I'm looking for a ROM.
Can I create a ROM of my one? What need I to do that? I know my way around Paint Shop Pro but not around programming like in C++.
Manila (aka SenseUI)
Newer versions of Manila may require that you use a WinMO 6.5 custom ROM as HTC released the new 2.x versions of Manila (aka Sense) on devices that sported WinMO 6.5.
Additionally, some of the recent Manila releases (ex: 2.5, 2.6) may be versions obtained from dev/test ROM source. If you're after stability or rely on your device, this may not be preferable.
Custom ROM's
There are several customs available ... some chefs even release different ROM streams. In many cases, custom ROM's will also contain recent application updates. If you're after stability or rely on your device, once again this may not be preferable.
Custom ROM's are usually specific to devices. For example, if you own a Raphael GSM device, you only flash custom ROM that are Raphael GSM specific. Flashing custom ROM's from a different device or CDMA may permanently damage your device.
Kitchen (DIY Custom ROM)
Building a custom ROM has become much simpler. Many chefs who have moved onto another mobile device will often release a final ROM as well as the kitchen they use to prepare the ROM ... this serves as a great starting point.
Additionally, there are many tutorials available on how to use kitchens floating around the forum.
Lastly, moderators typically close threads requesting "What's The Best ROM" as selecting a custom ROM is like choosing a vehicle, house, partner ... it's all about personal preference. And from past experiences, these types of threads usually get out of control pretty quick. So, to avoid having a thread that you start closed, it is best to avoid "What's The Best ROM" discussions.
HTH,
OH..........sorry!
Don't want to upset the moderators!
Then I have just one final question:
Is there on this forum-part a topic with a standard ROM with instruction on how to customize it? Or can I find those things in the Wiki?
I would like to contribute to theme's or even a Dutch ROM.
I only need to know/learn how to do that! Can someone give me a link to some documentation and files/programs to use?
Thanks!

AFAIK, there isn't a "Generic" ROM with customization tips. What most members do is download a kitchen and post any customization related question in the corresponding kitchen thread.

For additional applications and theme customization, look at these sections of XDA. They may provide the information you are after.

Hello everyone,
first i'd like to thank everyone in this forum that works hard to provide us with such amazing stuff! It's really a great job!
I would like to know if anyone can help me...
I'm looking for an original Microsoft, unmodded version of WM 6.5.3... So far i have been unable to find one... I found some versions here but all of them are modded and that doesn't work for me...
I wanted to install a ROM that is not modified so I can conduct some experiences in memory and CPU usage.
If anyone can forward me to a link or post it here I would be tremendously grateful!
Keep up the good work!
Manny

Ok, i might have not expressed myself in the best way... What I need is a build of WM 6.5.3...
I should have been clearer.
I searched the forum here and did not find any...
Thanks again,
Manny
Hmm, just a little question, you want a rom for your Nike, or you wanna make a rom for your Nike.
If you want a rom with a minimal of apps installes, just see my signature.
If you want to make your own rom, just take a look HERE.
Greetz,
What I am looking for is an installable build of WM 6.5.3... Not a cooked ROM.
I wanted to test some parameters such as battery usage, memory usage and other parameters using only "official" builds.
It would be a test of WM 6.1 VS WM 6.5.3 on the Niki for the parameters i mentioned!
But i seem to not be able to find any builds other than those available for cooking...
I don't want to cook! I don't know how...
I remember that a year ago we were abound with WM 6.5 builds ready for download and install and now I can't seem to find this anywhere. I know that WM 7 is around the corner but there's got to be someone that still has this online...
I just want to see if using both on the Niki makes a big difference!
Thanks again
