I'm from the philippines and on Smart Network and hope there is someone can help me, Tnx.

Dont know if these will work but found them on another site so see if they do by giving it a try
Here’s a quick tip on how to activate your phone’s MMS and GPRS settings if you’re with the Smart Communications Philippines network:
How to Download MMS and GPRS settings from Smart:
To download SMART MMS phone settings:
Key in SET MMS
and send to 211.
To download SMART GPRS phone settings:
Key in SET GPRS
and send to 211.
Example: If you have a Nokia 6230, that’s “SET MMS N6230”
To activate SMART GPRS:
Key in “GPRS ON” and send to “333″
To activate SMART MMS:
Key in “MMS ON” and send to “333″
Note :
The configuration settings will be sent to your phone. You will need to select “Save All” to save the settings in the phone. Some MMS and GPRS handsets already have pre-loaded phone settings.
Activation of MMS and GPRS will require a confirmation message from SMART. A message will be sent to the sub once the feature has been activated.
Step 1:
Text SET 3G to 211, you will then receive the phone settings. (Ex: SET 3G N6680)
Step 2:
Go to the SMART 3G Portal: http://wap.smart.com.ph/3G
or click on the SMART 3G link on the SMART WAPsite.
Step 3:
Click on the link of the service you want to access.

I also need to know how to send mms which i could not figure out at all.
thx

I can help you with the GPRS and MMS settings for Ufone. No clue about telenor.
For GPRS do the following: (I'm assuming your device has WM2003SE)
- Start > Settings
- Select the Connections tab and click on the Connections Icon
- Click on the Advanced Tab
- Click on the Select Networks button
- On the Network Management screen, under the first dropdown list (for
"programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using",
click the New button.
- On the next screen, enter an ISP name, e.g. UfoneGRPS
- No other settings needed, save these settings and clic on the Tasks Tab
- Now here you will see your UfoneGPRS connection listed with a bunch of
options
- Click on the Add a new modem connection option under UfoneGPRS
- Enter a name for your connection e.g. UfoneInternet
- Select CellularLine)GPRS) in the Select a modem setting, click next
- Enter ufone.plinternet in the Access Point Name box
- Click Next. No further entries needed, click Finish and save settings.
Your connection is now set. Click ok to get all the way back, on the today screen click on the signal strength icon to display the connection bubble. It should display your newly made connection name with a "connect GPRS" lick. Click on it and you should be connected to the Ufone GPRS network in a few seconds.
Good luck. Lemme know how it goes.
p.s. before you can use GPRS and MMS you have to call the customer services at Ufone and ask them to activate both of these services for you. It takes some time for this to happen e.g. you call them today and it will start working perhaps the next day.
For MMS do the following:
Again like the above you have to create a new connection by first creating a connection name and then a new modem connection for it. Lets say you called the connection "UfoneMMS"
These are the settings for that modem connection for UfoneMMS
- Connection Name: Ufone.mms
- AccessPoint: ufone.plmms
- Everything else: default
After this, go to pocket outlook, in the settings, do the following:
Create a Message Server as folows:
Server:
Name: UfoneMsgServer
Gateway: 172.16.13.27
Port: 9201
Address: http://www.ufonemms.com:80/
xxxxxxxx=9999999
(the xxxxxxxx and 99999999 are your MMS account username and mailbox ID that Ufone creates for you and you have to obtain it form their customer services peeps).
Then in the main settings, set the following parameters:
- Connect via: Here you select your connection name e.g. Ufone.mms
- Connect to Server: UfoneMsgServer (the server you just defined)
One last thing, I dont know how important this is but they always say to do it..
In the Slect Networks screen (where you first defined your connection), click on the Dialing Rules buttons and click "use dialing rules". Then setup new Dialing rules for say, Mobile as follows:
Dialing rules: Dialing patterns
Local: G
L.D. : G
Intl.: G
You should be all set up.
I have heard that recenty they changed some MMS related configuration so you might wanna chekc up with them to see if all the above parameters for MMS are still valid. I had them all setup and working perfectly for a while... but I havent used MMS in a long time so I dont know whats been happening recently.
If you have any trouble, lemme know. Everything should work, its working on my machine.
Access point is ufone.plinternet for lahore connections and
ufone.piinternet for islamabad connections and I think it differs from city to city be sure to check with ufone
APN
What is the Access Point Name for Multan?
please help me.

Can anybody here give me the mms settings for smart network?

As far as I know the Wallaby doesn't support MMS, but I could be wrong or you could find some third party software to support it, but out of the box it doesn't.

Neil.

YES MORPH751 pls do help me with the settings, and where can I get ezwap, tnx in a million
Get EZWAP here:
http://www.ccsleeds.co.uk/stuff/ezwap25xda.zip
Thanks to Pete K for the link.
Download and install EZWAP to your wallaby. You need to configure the settings first before MMS and GPRS could work.
As for the settings I'll post them here tomorrow, I documented the procedure and settings (after trial and error) but it's in my home PC. Hope it works for you.
tnx a lot

I think it's the same procedure for Globe. You just need to get Globe's IP address and DNS server addresses. Unfortunately, I don't have Globe's settings. You can probably inquire in Globe centers or it may be available at their website. Hope you enjoy your MMS!

HELP on MMS Diamond
I'm sure since it's all Windows the settings are either the same or similar right?
I have a diamond, and every time i receive a MMS picture i get charged 10 pesos for GPRS internet connection. Called smart, they said Receiving MMS is free and it is my phone that has a problem. They think that the MMS triggers something, a program maybe, that connects to the GPRS every time i receive MMS pictures.
THey said they cannot fix my phone since they do not carry distribute HTC.
What do i do? Any ideas please
I'm using HTC Fuze here in the Philippines. I just used the NetworkWizard.cab I downloaded. Run it, reboot, and everything works.

Maybe since this forum is for upgrading. I also noticed your post at HOFO. Have you called TMO and asked? I took a quick look at TMO site and it wasnt much help. The "settings" servers/ports from the MDA will work, what is the specific issue. Is there no place to enter the servers or does it look correct and it just doesn't send or receive?
well all the fields to key-in is in there only problem is it has 2 options when im asked MyISP or My Network, dont know where to add modem there and also on the MMS setting there is a The WAP and Secure WAP?so which is which?anybody here using t-mobile MMS with cingular 8525
If your in the uk, you can sign onto my tmobile and they will send the settings to your phone.
To add a new modem you have to go to start>settings>connections> Add a new modem connection
You should specify in the mms settings to use the TMO connection
Here are the steps and settings:
Step 1. Setup GPRS connection for T-Mobile network:
Start > Settings > Connections (tab) > Connections > Advanced (tab) > Select Networks > New...
Enter the name for the profile (e.g. T-Mobile), then go to "Modem" tab and click "New...", enter name for the connection (e.g. T-Mobile Data), choose "Cellular line (GPRS, 3G)" in the drop-down menu, click "Next", the access point should be "wap.voicestream.com", click "Next", leave all fields blank on this page, click "Finish". Now go to "Proxy Settings" tab and select "This network connects to the Internet".
**Mod edit**
I removed your section on how to possibly get free internet from your provider. This board is not for the discussion warez, or anything closely related. If you want to share that type of info do it in private
Click "Ok" all the way out.
Step 2. Setup MMS:
Start > Programs > Messaging > Menu > Tools > Options... > MMS > Servers (tab) > New
Server name: (you name it)
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port Number: 9210
Server address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect via: (the connection you created in step 1)
Sending size limitation: 300K
WAP Version: WAP 1.2
Click "Ok", set this new entry as default (with a red arrow on the icon).
You are all set.
p.s. I can get free internet on my account but not my friends', don't know why, need to have T-MobileWeb service ($5.99) to make it work on their account, eventhough still cheaper than Total Internet service ($29.99)
I never try WAP 2.0 on MMS settings, 1.2 works, so... (port 9210 is default for WAP 1.2, when choosing WAP 2.0 it will change to 8799)
hope this helps

Either MyISP or My Network are the name of the profiles.
Anyway, I'll suggest leave "MyISP" alone and create a new profile insted of modify it. (probably modify it works too) It seems like some features are not open to that one.
Afterwards, when selecting network, the new profile go to the upper slot. and the lower slot probably be "My Work Network".

GPRS MMS SETTING For CHINA MOBILE

Hi
I am in China but I AM NOT chinese. I have been looking for the way to set GPRS and MMS for This phone forever and couldn't find. I notice we have a chinese friend in this forum. anyone could help me?
There indeed is a small app designed especially for this purpose.
Just unpack the files into any folder on your device. Click on DataConnection.exe to open the app, select "remove all" to delete all existing connection configurations, then choose the second item named as "中国移动WAP包月". after all is done, click on cancel to quit. Now ur device is capable of surfing the net and sending/receiving MMS.
Also be sure you have a data connection package, by default the data connection for web browsering via China Mobile is charged at RMB ¥0.03/kb.

3. access point name is CMNET

As posted above, do make sure you get a dataplan. They have one for 25RMb a month that includes 200MB of GPRS and 300 text messages.

I've been using a Cingular 8125 with WM5 in Ningbo then Shanghai for the past 8 months. The wireless internet has never worked perfectly since I moved to Shanghai, but when I returned last week with my TyTN 2 (Tilt) it never works. I used the same standard setup CMNET, not username or password etc. No error messages, just it never connects. Maybe the TyTN2 actually does have specific settings.

mlalahoi,
Thanks for the information!
I'm on CM with the 神州行service.
I applied for the RMB20 package & suddenly, my GPRS settings refused to allow me to connect to the internet.
I made changes to the settings & now I'm good to go.
For the record, these are my settings:
Connects to: Internet
AP: CMNET
Username: CMNET
Password: CMNET
IP Address: 10.0.0.172:9201
I need to input the IP address or else I can't find the website I'm browsing to.
Under Connections | Menu | Advanced | Menu | Options, I configured My Desktop connects to: The Internet.
In Connections | Menu | Advanced, I set my Internet Connection to the entry I created for the GPRS connection above & set the others (Work, WAP & Secure WAP) to Automatic.
Finally, in PIE, I set my connections to Internet & uncheck the Automatically detect settings checkbox.
I'm good to go now.
BTW, what type of service are you on? My RMB20 package comes with only 50Mb of data?!
TIA!

MMS and GPRS setting for the Samsung i900
Hello every one does any one know how to apply the setting for gprs and mms for the i900 samsung
I finally resolved this after a long time. First you have to set up the connection to go to "cmwap", not "cmnet" and configure the proxy settings using one of the methods above. Then you need to configure the MMS mailbox. Open Messaging and choose Tools->Options from the menu. On the list of mailboxes, click on MMS. This opens the configuration. Click the Servers tab and then the New button. Server name is whatever you want, Gateway is 10.0.0.172 (same as proxy), port is 9201 (WAP), Server Address is http://mmmc.monternet.com. The "Connect via" should be the one you already created, then change the WAP version to 1.2. Save this and then on the next screen click on the new name and click on the "Set as Default" button.
Things should now work fine.

Cannot get APN with Vodafone (India)

Hi,
I am not able to access the internet with mobile access point networks. Few things I tried -
1) Tried to send s<IMEI> (15 digit) no to 52586 but every time I got message like this "Please send the IMEI no in proper format.." then I tried with only IEMI no not the S... nothing happened. I did not get any setups.
2)I tried to add one APN in the setting with the specific values found in vodafone india website(manual setting), and enabled it but nothing happened.
Please help !!!
I have same problem with UNINOR.
Manual APN works fine, not able to get APN from service provider. But AIRTEL gives pre-confingured settings
I Was Able To Connect
This is what I did to make it run, I was not able to get certain widgets to connect tough, but was able to browse the net.
1.> Goto
Settings -> Wireless Controls -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Name
Create a new access point and name it "vodafone live"
Input these Values
Name : Vodafone Live
APN : portalnmms
proxy : 10.1.1.100
MCC : 404
MNC : 27
APN Type : default,http,supl
rest leave unset.
2.> Go Back put a tick next to the apn name now.
3.> Enable Data Traffic.
4.> Restart your phone
Try and see if you are able to connect or see 2 arrows in the notification area.

A State Of Mind (For Loosers )
Dear Junior Member, First Thank for your reply. Now I have these issues.
Whenever I try to put "MNC : 27" the APN setting vanishes. ????
I tried to put the default MNC : 30 ..it worked with browser (with port 9401)...but I cannot log in gmail account, it shows no network connection, try again like that. Even I have two widget for weather update, that also does not work.
PS-- weather widget worked with wifi conn, when my phone was rooted, I tried to change the f*** icons that comes with the phone. Then to solve the issue for network connectivity I repaired the software so, I suppose my software is untouched.
Please help.
Now I can get the internet with this --
Name : Vodafone Live
APN : portalnmms
proxy : 10.10.1.100
port : 9401
MCC : 404
MNC : 30
APN Type : default,http,supl
but still cannot get connected with gmail app or weather widget
Apps do not work with Vodafone live, for them to work you'll need Vodafone Mobile Connect which is expensive.
Better use Airtel for the internet access dude.....
It costs ok and speed is good enough
Widgets and Apps
Widgets and Apps do not work with those settings, dont know why till now. I tried with the Vodafone Mobile Connect (their 3g Stuff). Insanely expensive. Try Airtel as suggested above.
I even tried registering a complaint with Vodafone store, they say its resolved. Lets see what happens.
hey please do something !! vodafone is carrying me mad !! cannot use any of the app or widgets !! i did rs95 recharge!! bt works only in browers!! I cannot switch to new number as i have this num. more then 4 yrs old!! plzzzzz do sumthin!!
I tried with port no 8080 ...but also it's not working, I dont want to use another no...
I hope with 2.1 this thing will be resolved !!! By the way, it will be great if someone gives the config for - "Vodafone Mobile Connect" ... I want to use this until the update comes.
