Can Titan Read 8gb Micro Sd??? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I'm about to outgrow my 4GB microSD (loaded with GPS Maps, music, photos, and misc. software) and was wondering if the Titan phones can read the larger 8GB cards.

If you're using a custom rom or a 6.1 update rom yes, if you're using the stock rom, no.

I have been using an 8GB since day 1 on my phone before I flashed to DCD. So, it may work for you if you are still on stock. I haven't had any issues on Bell stock or DCD.

Yup works with mine and worked form day one with telus stock. DCD thank you very much for your hard work.
Cheers all!

htc tytn & microsdhc 8gb

Hello
I wanted to ask you a question
I now I have the schap's 4.22 wwe and have a microsd from 2gb that I would replace it with one from 8gb
From your experience you know if it works at 100%
I do not want to make a purchase wrong
Aspect your answers
Please
There is no one who can help me understand if microsdhc8gb works 100% in our htc tytn
I used to have schaps rom installed and it worked like a charm (until I had to flash it back to the default O2 rom to return the whole thing - damn o2 roms are slow D
Then with the schap's works 100%?
I can safely go to the purchase of microsd

Now the order immediately !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In case you are still prevaricating I have a similar setup, Shap's 4.22 on an Orange M3100. I just received my Sandisk 8gb sdhc from http://www.mobymemory.com and installed it with no probs.
I was sent on January 2 and I should get and I hope Monday, I paid 35 gbp
It's quite cheaper here:

Working good
Just got my 8 gb sandisk. Working great on VP3G 3.62.3. I filled it up with music and movies just to make sure and it reads all of it fine. I was surprised at the transfer speed from the reader. I think it's actually slightly faster than transferring files to my USB 2.0 external hard drive.
popped mine into my tytn with BlackMajik ROM works right away

Can I use 8 Gb Micro SDHC on Dopod 838 Pro?

Can I use 8 Gb Micro SDHC on 838 Pro ?
Most likely if you have a fairly new WM6 ROM.
WM5 doesnt support SDHC at all, the most you can use is a 2GB card.
I have actually just ordered an 8GB SDHC micro SD card so I will let you guys know if it works.
Yes. all the way up to 32GB.
8GB SDHC works in my Jasjam, Kaiser & Jasjar
I downloaded the SDHC patch cab that is available in xda-developers & installed it on my 3 PDAs all of which have updated ROMS but it was the patch that made them work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310456&page=4
I also downloaded from Microsoft their SDHC patch for WinXP & now all my devices can read rhe 4, 6 & 8GB T-Flash cards I have.
Doug M
PS Our CIO tried my 8GB T-Flash in his late model blackberry & it read the card too ! (no upgrade needed)
*sigh*
Yes, 8GB cards work fine if you are using one of the official WM6 ROMs. I'm using one and it works fine.
If you are using some other funky cooked ROM, all bets are off. (Best of luck with that though)

Anyone know if the Hermes platform (with proper ROM, etc.) will be able to notice a difference between the classes of mSDHC? For example, Class 4 or Class 6... I'd like to get a reasonably priced 8GB but on Newegg there is a 4GB Class 6 for one third the price of the 8GB Class 4. Any suggestions?

Probably not, the actual noticeable difference isnt worth the extra cost anyways, im very happy with the class 4 one ive got.
Cool, though I don't imagine I'll be trying to add a few GB's of stuff onto the card initially while it is in the phone. I've noticed that when transferring audiobooks, music, video, etc., in large chunks it takes about a third as long to throw it into my USB card reader than to do it through ActiveSync.
Know where any really good deals on the 8GB cards are? Right now Newegg only has the SanDisk and it is three times the price of a faster 4GB...
I have a Sandisk 8GB microSDHC card and it's working fine on Schap's roms.
The label says it's class 4, so I wasn't really expecting much but I am getting 8-10 MB/s writing speed when using a USB reader.

great deal...
cant wait for 16gb were just a little behind the iphone, but not much
i love being able to have my music, videos, documents all on my card.... its great, makes my hermes really an all in one device.

WM5 does not support SDHC which is what is needed for cards bigger than 2gb.
WM6 and WM6.1 do. Custom roms with these OS's are available here, but use at your own risk.
If you choose to flash a different rom please research first and do it properly as no one here will be responsible for your bricked phone but you. There are great tutorials available in the Hermes forums and the tools needed are here also.
Best of luck.

oh ok then
myb i shld upgrade tho
but .. it might face some lags , isnt it ?
i mean, with the extremely slow 195mhz cpu clock,
to handle a extreme iphone-level of 8gb,
sounds like stupid rite?.
i dunno i dunno. im just sayin it .
wat u thnk?
can't read SDHC even with the CAB
my dopod 818 pro still can't read my 8GB SDHC after installing the CAB file, got any other ideas?
It's best to upgrade to stock rom (Windows mobile 6.5.x) or using the latest custom ROM available.

3125 sdhc 4g card

Will it work?
Hint: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=370121
Maybe SEARCH next time.
But will it work or not? I cant find.tia
First question, do you have WM5 or WM6? With my personal experience, with WM5, it didn't work for me. But with WM6, it did. Try it and good luck.
Which 4gb card did you get to work with it? i'm running wm6 and no luck with a 6gb class 4 sandisk, but wouldn't mind 4gb as that would still be better than the 1 i'm running atm
thanks
damian

probably already discussed, but whats the deal w/ sdhc & dcd's rom?

I'm looking to get a bigger sd card for my xv6800. i want to get a 8gb card to load up on music. 2 questions (pardon me if they have already been discussed, please provide links):
1) will dcd's 3.1.2 rom support the sdhc 8gb cards w/o any upgrades?
2) anybody know what read/write speed our phone can put out? that class card can I most fully utilize?
-randy
The capacity that the phone can support has little to do with the rom and more to do with the capability's built into the phones hardware. The HTC 6800 is fully capable of using SDHC cards, regardless of rom.
As for the speed, get the fastest one you feel like, SD is a spec, and as long as you use an SD card on an SD spec device, it should be able to utilize it.
I can't see of many ways you would see a big difference though by buying a faster microSD, usually the faster cards are only used by cameras when pushing large photos into memory quickly. There is very little you will use with the phone that should need any major speed from an MicroSD.
So go to Meritline or something, get an 8GB card, and enjoy it.
Sort of right but,,,

The 6800 stock 2.0.09 ROM would see all of a 2 gig, but only 3.6 gig of the new 8gig until I updated to the DCD ROM. But my friend has the Samsung and when we did the same patches I used on my 6800 to make the 8gig work with the old ROM his totally failed to see the card at all, so I figure the slot hardware was not able to make use of the sdhd driver. So I think that you are right that the hardware must support it, and the 6800 does, but the ROM must also have the drivers for it, which DCD's do.

Newegg.com is another.
so the new 3.x.x dcd roms will see a full microSDHC 8GB ?
if so, that's great news. (FAT32 i assume).
I've been sticking around with my 1GB, but if this is true, I'll have to get one

SD HC - its a not go!

Hi all...
For all those who will buy a 4 or 8 Gb card to polaris, forget it... Polaris does not support SD HC
Learned it the hard way...

I've been running with a SanDisk 8gb card for a few months now with no problems. In fact before I got this phone I was using the 8gb card in my Orbit on WM5 for over a year!
@Silalaval
what are you saying? my polaris works since the first day with a sandinsk 4gb sdhc without any problem?
why do you post this kind of info without ask yourself if is only a problem of your type of memory or your device
Are you serious?
Demm.. I bought a 8 gb and it didnt worked! Thought Polaris was incompatible, hence the warning to other users.
Sorry for the misinformation!
I've got a SDHC 8gb and working no problem, I think you've got a faulty card mate.
It's either a bad card, or it's formatted to a file system that the polaris doesn't know. The obvious question, did you get the card from a legit store (online or brick and mortar), or did you get it from a shady source (eBay, sketchy online store, trunk of some guy's car)?
From a reliable place, there's only one answer....bad card
From shady place, the card might be stolen or returned and resold, so it could be either.
Best way to test, put the card into a reader and attach to your computer. If you can read it, 99% chance that it's formatted to NTFS or some other file system. Just format that beast to FAT32 and you'll be fine....If windows gives an error about being unable (which I've read is possible), then do a quick google and you can find instructions.....or just return the thing and save yourself a couple hours of trouble.

I've been using a Sandisk 16Gb card for 2 months now.
Works perfectly
I have a 8gb SDHC working fine! with no problems!
Although i did take mine out before i put it in my phone and format it under vista!
I also have a 8gb mSdhc card and it works fine
8 GB is definitively a go.
However, 16 GB (as ianl8888 wrote)???
Is WM6.1 that manages SH HC.
WM5 not! it serves a software ad hoc.
if got an sdhc 4 gig card and works great no problems
