There is an Orientation option in Settings->System->Screen. Also, you can map a hardware button to <Rotate Screen> in Settings->Personal->Buttons
great just the hardware key things
I found it under control panel ... to turn by software

pid of nike 16key vs 20key

are they different?
if they are, can anyone teach me how to change them?
i've just changed the hardware on my 16key nike into a 20key version, but the key mapping is still like the 16key ones, so i'm trying to figure out how to get it to recognise it as a 20key dual instead
i know the "Switch Niki 16 keys Keyboard to 20 keys" thread is just a few threads down below, but i though with this title it would be easier for me to get help. i apologise in advance if this isn't what i should be doing
and thank you very very much!
can someone with a 20key dual tell me what is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\Drivers\Builtin\Keypad?
it may be what i'm looking for, but i'm just guess
thanks a lot!

ok...so any ideas? i had not much idea where to start apart from the registry, which i didn't manage to find anything that seem to be related to 16/20 key, so that means i now have no idea at all.
any help will be appreciated. thank you very very much!
the PID of niki 16 key and 20 key is the same...
i said we played around with the PID not that u have to
change it^^
i said it should stored into the NAND that the device is
16key or 20...
i only had a little look into the keypad driver but it seams it
check something in the nand... evtl. it could be patched that it think
it's a 20 key niki...
but haven't the time too look into it deeper atm, woring still on the
WIFI-patch.
but u can check something for me^^ is the keypad connector for the 20key version the same like
the one for the 16key version?

hardware connector? i think it is, because everything just fits in place, and everything still works. which i why i'm a bit surprised that it doesn't work.
ok, just used gollum's keymap software and "clicked the keys to find their codes", and i found that ALT, ENTER, DEL and OP doesn't actually return a code
As I have the problem with the hardware keyboard (20 keys) I just flashed the original rom of O2 germany back and looked at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Qwerty\Layout. In the original ROM I have 1031 and in the Tom-Niki-Project-2.1.3 I have 2052 which gives me a 16 key keyboard.
After changing the value from 2052 to 1031 I got back my 20 keys keyboard.
Hope this helps.

Mines the Neon, but its value name is Flags and the value is 0. Hope thats what u were looking for
Author - you just need to change key mapping files. You can find it on this forum, cab file for Niki20.
I ordered a 20 key pad too, but it seems like I have to change the board with the flex cable too since the layout is slightly different and the additional 4 keys are missing wich I tought would be there

Need help guys!!!!!!!!!

my atom pure's touchscreen is totally not functioning. tried to upgrade different roms but still no help. so i buy a touchscreen replacement and send it to somebody who can fit it on. the touchscreen replacement fits well but the problem is when im on the screen alignment program, point tapping dont end!! i meant the alignment process never ends. i installed a registry editor so that i can edit the touch settings value. but since the screen is not aligned cant use the virtual keyboad to input the necessary value. so i need the help of chefs here to apply my idea. is it posibble to cooked the correct alignment value on rom and at the same time skipping the alignment screen after a had reset just like what we have on some of hermes rom? if this proceedure is already implemented please send me a link of that rom so that i could try it coz i have a feeling that it will solve my problem.
thanks a lot more power

Is Numeric Keypad "heavy duty" in S740 ?

Hello,
I do write many many on phone, but don't want use qwerty keyboard. So, I will use numeric keyboard. Is it suitable for someone who writes much?
Thanks for any answer,
RA
I mostly use the numeric (for SMS etc) and I don't have any problems until now. However if you dont need the keyboard why dont you look for another (maybe smaller) phone?

Thats the problem...HTC stop produce smartphones with numeric keyboards and NON-touch screen. That's a pity. There is only S740 and HTC Snap. I don't know why the go like this. Writing with numeric keypad with T9 is 1. Quicker 2. More comfortable (I can use only one hand). That's a pity...
RA
Well, you can write pretty easily with the numerical. At least I don't have a problem. When I dont have time (or a second hand available) I always use the numerical.
The only thing I dont know is its quality. I have the phone for about 3 months now, so it's too early to tell you if any problems with the keys arise.
The Keypad is not very robust... it squaks and requires really hard presses as the phone gets older..
What i don't like about the numeric keypad is it's surface, which does not differ at all underneath the "joystick". That forces you to look at your fingers while writing (or am I too unsensitive), cause you can't determine if your fingers are on the key or between two keys (you really don't feel a difference at all, except that it gives "double haptic feedback" when you have pressed and when its too late cause then you already made two instead of one input ) if you don't ALWAYS LOOK AT THE NUMERIC KEYPAD.
Perhaps I just need some more excercise to intuitively press the keys correctly without looking (which was no problem btw with other phones that have little bars on the keys or a space between the keys).
I like the haptic feedback btw. If you press a key correctly, it nicely snaps.
Thanks to all!
I want to thank you all for answers. It was very important for me!

yes !! type seams heavy . like htc tytn2 official rom . like htc diamond offial rom !! i worked with those .
My main problem is that the two keys for the calls are way way too small. OK they are somewhat higher but they are small. And that wouldnt be a big problem if you use a handsfree, but one of them is used for locking the keyboard and is annoying at times (I have to use the 2-key combo to lock the keys)
Did you try Danny Baumann's Automac Keylock? It's the best way for locking keyboard
