I copy the nueSPL 2.47 exe over to a 1 gig SD card. Run it and I get the msg that the card isn't formatted. I elect to have the program format for me and get a partition error.
I know that this just puts the TITAIMG.nbh file on the card so it will load in bootloader mode.
I've tried all I know and searched many threads looking for a solution. Perhaps it's the Kingston card I have but does anyone else have a suggestion, or if someone has the TITAIMG.nbh file already if they could post it up I would be most grateful.
I have Olipro 2.40 / 3.42.50 and dcd 3.2.6.
Thanks in advance..
Not sure if this is the problem, but I thought that the instructions said to copy the file to the phone's memory and run it from there.
Thanks for reply - I tried that no matter how I run it it won't format the card same error every time.

No it gets copied to the storage card and ran from there.....not all cards work though.....do you have a card reader on your PC?......if so format it through the PC.....otherwise I suggest getting another card...or if you have it use the card that came with the phone....

Ahhh it's VZW they don't give you a card with the phone. Must be the card the only other card I have is a 4 gig SDHC. I was hoping someone would have the TITAIMG.nbh for it.
I know there must be another way to format your card from the pda. I was just about to check on freewareppc, when I remembered that I have no2chem's nuemassstorage installed on my device. it turns my pda/phone into a card reader. I actually formatted an sdcard the other day, cause I wanted to update the radio. check it out:

Hey, I tryed to install the XDA-OS and it did not work during the upgrade. Now my phone is STUCK. I turn it on and there are just a bunch of random lines. I would like to reinstall but I can't use Active Sync seeing that my P/PC has nothing on it I guess. Is there a way to recover from this disaster? Please help. Val
Yes there is, you will need an sd or mmc memory card, and a card reader/writer for your pc, you will need to cook a rom, possibly from www.yorch.net, when it is ready for download choose "sd card flashing" at the bottom of screen on yorch net. You will need xdatools to program your memory card while in card reader/writer. Basically you choose the .nbf file that you downloaded as source and your card reader/writer as destination. Once this is accomplished you place the card in the xda, enter bootloader mode, when asked to press action, do so. Your xda should then be alive once again.
Now my 256 card is F*&^ed
I did everything, I finally understand these new concepts. I used the XDAtools to convert my NB1 files to my 256MB SD card and started the P/PC up. I forget why but, although I though it would have worked, it did not. Anyhow I then accidently backed up my corupted OS onto the card and said "oh no, why did I back up that crap on to my card!!!" I then inserted the card into the card reader and it said "Card access error." Now it doesn't work. A point of fact is that it does work in the XDA, but not in the PC. This XDA world is CRAZY but wonderful. Maybe I could get a heads up, let me know if anyone else has heard of this problem. VAL
Try putting it back into the card reader/writer, right click on the card and choose format. Sometimes the pc will do a delayed write to the card, if you remove it before the data is written it becomes corrupt, I always right click and choose eject before removing the card.
Hi,
Since I mostly use Linux and Mac OS X, it's not very easy for me to flash my TyTN. There is an article in XDA-Wiki which describes a way to flash my device from the SD card, but it mentions formatting the card before doing the upgrade.
Is it absolutely needed to do so? I have lots of files in my card and I don't want to move them every time before I flash my phone.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
AFAIK, as long as your card is formatted in FAT32, then it should work.

Thanks for your answer, a test will convince me ...
i can confirm that you don't need to format it as long as it's FAT32. I can't flash ROMS at work for some reason (no admin privileges, i suspect) and so I occasionally flash from my SD card. It actually works really well.
Above posts are corre correct. I flash from SD card all the time, in fact i have NEVER used a cable to flash my phone. As long as the SD card has been formatted as fat32 you can flash from it without removing other files. I keep all my cabs, sms\contacts backup, files, contact pics, etc. in folders on the SD and then copy the .NBH file to the root of the card and flash away, makes it easy to change ROM's with minimal fuss and can even be done without a computer. About two weeks ago I found myself stuck in an airport and downloaded a new rom via airport wi-fi, extracted nbh file with pocket rar, renamed and saved to SD and viola, new ROM.
I confirm that too. What you absolutely need is to have it formatted in FAT32. SDcard flashing is the only way i use too. BUT... (yes... there is a ...but...) it happens that the "hermimg.nbh" is not detected if it is not one of the first files on your card. In this case, when you "hardreset", no file will be found. This is why i recommand to format it before.
ok, before the flaming begins, I'm a noob and should have never even messed with this thing. ok, there, I said it.
alright, a month or two back, I upgraded my 6800 to the nochem 5054 rom. phone worked awesome, no problem.
I'm selling the device and need to flash back to the stock verizon rom. the only place I saw a link to the stock rom, the ftp was down so I couldn't download it.
so I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350539&page=1 and figured it sounded like a good substitute. I downloaded the exe and it installed. finished flashing and said that it was successful. only one little problem (and I've searched for an hour and haven't found the answer...)
it won't boot. it just sits at the HTC TITAN boot graphic. not the tricolor loader. I hard reset but still no fix. once I reset the phone it displays the cresent graphic with HTC TITAN at the bottom, then the little red parameters come up and this is what they say:
M09
H3B60B3FA
P DCAAXAM-4350
R 3.35.04
D 2.17
so, the phone won't boot and I can't get it to connect with activesync to try and reload that rom.
damn. What now?
You have a non GPS rom with the 3.35.04 radio, which is incompatible.
awesome. now I know the problem, I just need a solution.
and do you have any idea where to find a STOCK vzw rom? I guess I need a radio too.
someone please <sniffle>
Go to www.ppcgeeks.com There is a Verizon stock rom on the FTP site....find by clicking QLinks tab at top of page. Go to Titan folder and inside you'll find 'Carrier ROMs'...there is a Verizon ROM inside. Uploaded in March of this year...I don't know what version...I'm on Alltel. Hope this helps.
will I be able to execute that without my pda having an activesync connection though?
yeah, I just finished downloading the stock rom (THANKS) but I can't get the pda to sync up. I guess because it won't boot, it won't connect to my PC either.

how do I find out? I originally got buildos from ppcgeeks and I chose the 5054 option. I used some unlocker first, then I used buildOS and flashed the device.
is the bootloader in any of those parameters I put above?
Hold power, camera, and soft reset using the stylus while holding them, should put the phone into the bootloader.
It should say at the top:
TITA100 MFG
SPL xxxxxxxxxx
CPLD-9
Tell me what it says where the xxxxxxxx is.
SPL-2.40.Olipro
THANK YOU SO MUCH
I have downloaded the titan relocker and also the correct stock rom from the titan wiki area, the 78MB on. I believe that has the radio too.
geez, I should have never messed with this thing, I don't even know what a radio is....
Ok this is what you need to do. Since you have the 3.35.04 radio and 2.40 bootloader you need to flash a 3.x.x GPS rom in order to be able to boot again. Unfortunately because you can't boot and establish a usb connection, the only way out of this mess is to flash with a microsd card that's less than 2gb. If you don't have one, get one. You'll also need a card reader as well so you can format it correctly.
1. Download this file It's a clean verizon 3.x.x rom and will allow you to boot again.
2. Format your microsd card using a card reader in windows as FAT32 using a cluster size less than 4 Kb.
3. Place the file you downloaded on the card.
4. Insert the card in your phone and enter the bootloader again.
5. The bootloader will say "Checking" then will prompt you to press the power button to begin the update. Press the power button.
6. When it's done, soft reset with the stylus and the phone SHOULD boot into windows mobile allowing you to get an activesync connection.
Now all you have to do is relock your phone using titan_relocker (follow instructions carefully and exact), then flash the stock rom and radio. Make SURE you relock though, and make sure you use the correct rom and radio this time.
ooops .... GC has you all lined up .....

well, rather than buy a card and reader, I thought I could shortcut by borrowing a card from someone, then I used my wife's 6800 to format it with pocket mechanic. I chose fat32 and 2K cluster size.
copied the file from my laptop to my wife's 6800 which had the card in it. popped it in my phone and went into the loader but it just says serial.
Is it necessary to have a card reader and format through windows? if it is, I will go buy one and do it that way. my buddies card is only 64MB but that's ok because the file is only 45MB.
let me know about the reader so I know if I need to run to the best buy real quick. wow, making progress.
Yeah you can't format the card using the phone. You also can't copy the file to it using the phone. Go buy a cheap one. You don't even need a card reader, you could use one of those sd to usb dongles and it would work fine. (If you choose to go this route, just make sure the card you buy comes with an sd to microsd adapter). Just can't do it using the phone.
ok, I got a 1gb card with the standard SD adapter.
I went to format it in my laptop and I used fat32 but it didn't give me a cluster option. it just said default allocation size and It was not able to be changed.
anyhow, formatted and copied the .nbh file over and turned on but it just says serial and does not look like it was reading from the card...

Go to the XDA-Wiki at the top of the page and click on it. You'll see all the HTC models...scroll down until you see the Titan model...click on it. Scroll about halfway down the page to the section titiled 'Tutorials'...you'll see a topic called 'Getting started with your Titan'...click on it. This will have a section on flashing via SD card. It explains how to format the card in DOS. For some reason many times when formatting thru windows stuff doesn't work...I have no idea why...but when you format thru DOS its almost failsafe. Good luck....make sure its in the root directory of your card and labeled TITAIMG.nbh

Flashing a phone with a micro SD card
1. Format a microSD card into FAT32 with an allocation unit/cluster size of 1024
(the default size for a 1 GB would not work, also if it takes only a few seconds to format
try formating with some other slot/device. A 1 GB took over a minute to format correctly)
To format your Card - Open a DOS box and type/copy and paste this: ( format ?: /FS:FAT32 /A:1024 )
Replace the ? with whatever your SD cards drive letter is... ie: f, h, I.... Mine is G....
2. Copy the ROM to flash (xxxxxxxx.nbh) to the root of the microSD
3. Rename the ROM xxxxxxx.nbh to TITAIMG.nbh
4. Insert your card.
5. Force into the boot loader with POWER-CAMERA-RESET
6. Follow the instructions and you'll quickly flash your Titan...
That was in the Titan Wiki - You can use a DOS box to format, do not use Windowz Explorer....
what radio do you guys recommend to use right now. I AM running at this time rom 1.3.4 radio 3.42.40, and should I be changing my bootloader it's SPL-2.40.Olipro SPLD-9 my HD died on me so i have to restart all over now also, would some one point me to the links on how to do it ( i lost so much info.... ) i would like to try using 6.5 beta... please let me know i have VZW 6800
The 3.42.40 radio is for GPS ROMs so you should be good to go. I recently upgraded to the 3.42.50 radio and it is working great.

Here is the XDA Wiki for GPS ROM upgrading: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanRecentHome I used nueSPL2.47 to unlock. Get PocketRAR if you don't already have it. Unzip to a 1 GB or less microSD card formatted to FAT32. nueSPL2.47 will check for all this. Just follow the instructions on screen.

Did you unzip the .rar file to the card?
The card needs to be FAT32 and 1GB or less.
Manually put the device into bootloader and follow any onscreen prompts.

how would i go about formatting them. I dont have a card reader in my PC.

Use HardSPL2.47, go thru the first few steps and it will check the format of the card, and if it's not correct it will prompt to format the card for you. So run it and if you get the screen showing that the card is fine, go ahead and exit at that point.
If it says the card is the wrong format, it will have an option to format the card. Let it format, then exit.
Also, make sure you have everything on the card backed up before it formats.

Also I believe I read somewhere than .40 is newer, or at least it was available to us after .50 came out based on which carrier released it.
I've been using .40 for close to a year and have never had any issues, GPS works great, battery lasts more than 24 hours, etc. So I know it's definitely a good radio, can't say the same for .50 as I only tested it for a few days. During that period of time I had no issues.
BTC
finally got it to work. had to use my printer that has a card reader bult into it to format the card to fat32. flashed my radio, and now rocking .50 radio TY everyone for your help.
Hey guys, about a month ago i accidentally dropped my phone on my coffee table and it cracked my screen. I didn't notice any other damage. Now it won't read the SD card. It will try and mount it and then tell me I removed it or something. I'm running Cyanogen 2.3.3. Stable rom and I have a recent nandroid backup.
I would like to fix this without a restore, but I can restore if that'll fix it. I'm just hoping it's not a hardware problem.
As always, any and all (attempts to) help are greatly appreciated!
Are you using S2E or Darktremor apps2sd? (That wouldn't be the cause of the problem, but would change the way you'd troubleshoot it.)
I really don't know what either of those are. I use Titanium backup and the android app manager to move the apps.
k, just checking. I'd suggest trying with a different SD card if you have one to see if it works with that. If it does, then I'd try reformatting the original SD card to see if that gets it to work again. Just make sure you copy all the files off the SD card with a computer first, then copy them back after reformatting.
Okay it was my SD card. I've moved everything over to a 2GB card now. Problem is, I can't get anything to read my 8GB now. I tried formatting after I backed it up, but it failed during the format and now neither my computer nor my phone will read mount it. It's obviously corrupt. Is there any way to fix this? I can fit most of my stuff on my 2GB card, but I'd like to save the 8GB if possible...

Try this program: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/
It has revived an SD card for me in the past. Hope it works for you.
okay I got the SD formatter. I've inserted the 8GB card using a working micro-SD to SD adapter in my card reader and the program recognized the drive and shows the correct size (7.39 GB). When I try and actually format the card, though, it says that either the drive, or the card is not supported by it. :\
I figured updating the drivers for my card reader would fix this, but I have no idea where to find them...
Some thing you might try:
1) Make sure the lock switch isn't engaged on the microSD to SD adapter. I had to tape the lock switch in the off position on my adapter to keep it from switching into the on position when I plugged it into my card reader.
2) Try formatting another SD card to see if it works.
I don't think you're going to find any new drivers for something as simple as a card reader.

There are many variations of that model... Go here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp?nav=Download and find your specific model, then download and install the card reader driver available/suitable for it.
