Extracting Original ROM - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

I am new to WM and HTC Touch Pro. If I want to extract the original ROM, do I need to fist restore to factory setting? I have been using the phone for 2 weeks and made some adjustments.
ROM ver: 1.90.832.4 CHT
Radio ver: 1.02.25.19
Com protocol: 52.33.25.17U
Many Thanks!

ey man, there is no need to start a new thread, you have all the info here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427507
good luck

I am following exactly the same procedures. As I am new to this toy (My very first WM based device), I am wondering if the procedures listed simply dump whatever I have on my phone including personal data (like HD cloning). Of course, this is definitely no one would like to do.
Many Thanks!

@siuphen
got ur point, but AFAIK, it will only dump ur ReadOnlyMemory. Sorry if i'm wrong, never tried it tho

hang.tuah is correct, you only dump the ROM, all changes you have made are not included in the dump... this is no HD cloning

Got it! Many thanks for the info.
Thanks all!

question bout upgrading

greetings!
i presently have a
xda 1 here in the philippines
rom version: 3.14.17 ENG
radio version: 4.16
protocol version: 32S54
my question is, is it advisable or necessary to upgrade my rom version to the new version found at 02 official site? i already downloaded it but i haven't installed it yet.
i've learned in the forums the golden rule that DON'T TOUCH THE RADIO VERSION AS LONG AS IT WORKS. so i will not ask bout the radio version anymore.
please help me...thanks!
if you can extract the ROM upgrade files only, then it's OK to go to any WM2003 ROM
my device is only WM2002. does it matter? is it ok to upgrade the ROM to the latest version 3.20.06?
I upgraded mine last night - there are a few subtle differences.

ROM 3.20 is PPC2002 not a WM2003 ... you can upgrade to 4.01.16 if you still want WM2003 ROM
Once again, don't touch the RSU!! ... play with the ROM only
thanks guys!
sorry guy's another question cause for everybody's info im just a newbie and i'm scared of messin up my phone. anyway, i've read problems with the synchronization or restoring data on the phone after upgrading the ROM here in the forums. will i just follow the steps given by myxda.com? or i really need to back up my ROM to an SD still?
sorry guys just wanna make sure. thanks!
it's strongly recommended to backup the current ROM to SD card ... I mean the backup option in the bootloader menu not the xbackup utility

WM2003 ROM ver 4.02.02_ENG

OK, I have XDA 1.2 reinstalled with 3.17.03 and working ok. What happens if I now try to upgrade to 4.02.04_ENG?

Could you be more specific, what you are going to know?
Update should work without any issues....
Stefan
Thanks, Stefan. This download was easy. Just wanted to be sure I wouldn't screw up anything--I didn't.
I thought there was an XDA version that runs on 4.02.04?
You have been a great help!

Hi,
Let try it and you get more experience. You know, I tried to up these rom versions: 3.20.06 (O2), A3.17.xx(Siemens), , 4.00.12 and now 4.01.16(T-mobile) and severals cooked rom to install. At last I found 4.01.16/4.21.00 is the best for XDA1.
So dont' hesitate to upgrade! XDA1 is good product of HTC !
Best regards,
Thank you. I have 4.02.04 installed and working fine, but no XDA. How do I combine? Skip
Maybe you can give more clear deatils. I do not understand what you say with
but no XDA

Stefan
I'm sure it is my lack of understanding of how the system works. When I got my PPC it had XDA ver 1.2 and rom 3.17 installed and was WM2002 based. To get to WM 2003 I installed 4.02.04--and it works fine. If I want to get the XDA goodies again can I now install XDA ver 1.2 without losing WM2003 or will it revert back to 3.17 and WM2002?.
Hope this makes sense. Skip
XDA Ver. 1.2 is the PPC ROM 3.17.03, so you will loose the WM2003 and go back to PPC2002.
As I understand you right, you want some/all of the tools already included in the XDA ROM Ver 1.2 ?!?
Take a look at www.romkitchen.de . Here you can create your own ROM and include the programs you want.
Stefan
That answers my question. Thankk you, Stefan. I'll take a look at the link you suggested. Skip
???
rom 4.01.12 or 4.01.16 ? which best?
help me!!!
ervarm,
I am looking for a rom that will work in the United States (i.e. allowing my phone to work and unlocked for my carrier). Where did you find that rom? and will my pw10a1 or pw10b1 work in the U.S.?

I wanna FLASH! Come SEE

Hey guys, i'm a newbie to WM5 and need some quick tips.
I'm currently having problems with an unclear reception i'm using
ROM 1.18.255.3 (07/22/06)
Radio Verision 1.03.03.10
ExtROM 1.18.255.106
I'm thinking of upgrading the radio rom to 1.20 to see if this helps.
Advice needed:
Never Flashed, where do i find the ABC Instructions on how to backup my Original HTC TyTN Rom? Is the ROM available somewhere here to save me flashing it? I want to restore to normal if i'm not happy with the results.
Never Flashed, how do i safely upgrade the rom and which do you recommend for best radio and best overall performance
Sorry to ask such basic questions, but i'm terrified of stuffing this baby up.
Thanks in Advance
SINC

Your original rom is available here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
You have it there in shipped format ready to flash, so you don't need to backup it first.

Anyway after using the said ROM why my 8525 lossing Radio?when i soft reset it shows NO GSM? and also no IMEI in device info? now i got confused on this ill thinking to write a radio only but before that ill ask some opinion here on what should be the right choice of file should i use?i take off my hat and vowed to al who help me.
my device info:
ROM Version: 3.2 Sleuth
ROM Date: 07/05/07
Radio Version:
Protocol Version:
i think im lost in woods... anyone could help on how to fix radio problem? i also search the thread but i ended always bricked.(bootloader only).
Why dont you flash Hard SPl, Flash Sleuth's Rom, then flash a radio of your choice... Unless im missing something inbetween... If you phone isnt bricked you should have no problem flashing.

Complete walkthru... I'd recommend flashing the new 1.51 radio and see how that works for you.

[Q] back up stock rom from HTC HD2

i have been search on here and on some other sites for some long time to find a way to back up my stock rom installed on my HTC HD2 ..... but everybody is talking about cooking rom and backing up contacts or so .....
is there any way to back up my stock rom from my HTC HD2 before doing anything to my phone??
i just wanna keep a back up of the original rom before doing anything .... can anybody help me?
just download it, a million times easier.
look here [REF]Leo Official ROMs
i downloaded this ver from HTC site but this is very old ver ....... i got 1.66.... i checked the difference between the ver i have now and this one on HTC site 1.48 there is too many fixes and updates in the ver i got not in the 1.48 .... so im looking for some way to backup the rom i have now so i keep the latest official rom

in your device check the software version and the radio version
and give it to me... i'll give you the link from where to download the same rom
rom version 1.66.415.4 (76641) WWE
radio version 2.07.51.22_2
there .....
its really strange that i cant find any of the great developers and programes on this site to help me in my problem
as it was stated in another threaduntil noe ther is no way to "extract" or "backup" an entire rom .
I perfectly see what you mean, its a problem for me too: i modded my 1.66 stock rom so heavily that it would take days to reconstruct my perfect running hd2 in case an update to new 3version stock or flash of cooked rom fails at all and/or dissatisfies me.
then i want to go back to the previous perfect state by just flashing my cutomized stock rom without any additional hazzle
Sashimi won't do this, no other app won't do this..........
Even Spb backup won't do this as I had to learn the hard way since reflashing seems to be not the same as just upgrading a rom .........
some things happen in the rom that we still do not fully understand ......
I have the same concern as winner1. I want try out some custome roms, but before that it would be nice to have some sort of backup of my stock rom.
troed mentioned there is no to "extract" or "backup" an entire rom. So there is the option of downloading a stock rom.
As a matter of fact I am a total noob and I have no idea on what i must to pay attention to. Could someone help me to find a download of my stock rom, please?
Despite there is no hardware-branding, I don't know if my rom is software-branded. It would be nice to have a branded rom if there was one.
I bought my HTC HD2 from the service provider Three in Austria in August this 2010.
Here are some additional information about my phone:
OS-Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82) / WM 6.5 Pro
Manila-Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM-Version: 1.66.407.1 (76641) GER
ROM-Date: 01/11/10
Radio-Version: 2.07.51.22_2
Protocoll-Version: 15.32.50.07U
Thank you for your effort and time.

The fact that your rom version is 1.66 tells us that although the phone is on 3, the rom isn't rom locked, so you use default HTC roms, not branded roms. (Which would have a 1.7x version)
Unless i am mistaken, this means you need the 1.66 HTC GER stock rom, which (amazingly) can be found on teh HTC germany website under support, pick your phone, downloads, rom updates., or, as per post two of this thread, the official roms thread, first post, first link, 1.66 folder, and teh one you want is called
RUU_Leo_HTC_GER_1.66.407.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
If you download it from teh htc website, you can confirm its the correct one by using your serial number, because it wont let you download it if its not correct.
