Battery Changed to Qtek 1010 - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hi,
I replaced the battery to my faithful qtek 1010.
Following instructions how to disassembling the device, I had no problem. Then I inserted the sim, no taking care too much ....
As I turned on the device under the charger, I was requested to set up the display. Then I was requested to insert the sim. I lifted it a bit more and then the display scrambled, until it switched off.
The sim was inserted in the wrong way! From then, I'm no more able to power on the device. I didn't want to try too much, hoping the charge was shortcircuited. I think to try with usb cable tomorrow. But I do not trsut too much, I'm afraid something of unrecoverable occurred to the device.
Is there anyone able to give me some hints??
Thanks a lot
Alex

New Try
I deassembled again the 1010, detaching the battery. Battery is not original.
Then I connected the charger while I was pressing the soft reset and I saw a quick light coming out. then nothingelese. I reproduced it everytime I inserted the connector while pressing soft reset.
So I think 1010 is not fully dead, but I do not know what step could be useful to improve.
Any hint will be appreciated
thanks
Alex

Update
Last night I left the device attached to the charger. Nothing occurred so I detached the charger. I shortly lifted the connector from one side and the screen turned on with red led on (orange when it is charging, green when it is charged, lighting when it has gsm signal).
So, I still have some hope to fix it. Does anyone any hint what and how to check the charging hardware)
Thanks
Alex

Dead XDA2

Hi,
I upgraded my XDA2 to the new o2 rom and everything went fine with no problems. I've been using the phone for a couple days with no issues.
I've just had the phone charging in the USB cradle for a couple hours and noticed the led that is usually gree/orange had gone red with the screen blank. soft/hard reset does nothin nor does removing the battery or sim card. If I place the phone back in the cradle then all that happens is the led going red. I'm currently waiting for the backup battery to discharge and will put the battery back in...
Anybody know whats going on and anything I can try? Or does it look like phone is dead and back to O2?

Not to sure if this will help, but sometimes on me E200 (smartphone made by HTC) I get this problem and to fix this what I do it remove the battery and plug the charger in and then put the battery in, this normal works.
Well... funny you should say that... I plugged it into the mains charger (swore some more) and it just started working. Both the main and backup batteries were completely flat... I know the usb cradle is ok as another phone is charging...
Will put it on the mains and see what happens...
Thanks for help,

No worries.

Please help! Himalaya won’t turn on

I have upgraded my Himalaya to 1.50g and yesterday forgot to charge it and now it won’t turn on even I’ve put it in the cradle for 2 hours now. How can I fix it and prevent it from happening again? It didn’t happen to me before upgrading to WM0.5
tried reset both the normal reset and the special 2005 hardreset ?
Yes, I’ve try both. But no sign came. Only the red light gets on when I put it in cradle
Put the battery off and place it on the battery slot behind the cradle..
if still the same.. reply ASAP!
I’ve charged the battery since got your advice but it did not help also
I can not see any sign that my Himalaya is alive but the red light when connected with the power supply. With the power I’ve tried to come to bootloader mode but without success. It didn’t respond any more
I’ve just managed to wake it up one time. It comes as from hardreset. The battery indicator showed backup battery 100%, main battery 34%, but it last only about 5 minutes then come off again and the red light come back
sounds like a hardware issue with the battery
or a very very naugthy unstd sim card
Now it’s working again!
Thanks lot! I have cleaned it from inside out let the battery full charged for 1 night, managed to hardreset it, reinstalled the rom and now it’s working again

Bricked G4 not (!) again: Charge LED does not light on power-connection

Hi there,
I have a special question to my G4 witch i do not get in operation anymore: The Problem is, that the device does not turn on, independent any keys. Either the ON-Button, Soft-Reset, Hard-Reset i do not get any of the "normal" screens. The display does not light.
Additional, the red power-charge-LED does not light when i plug in the USB-poer-supply. The same, if i disassemble the battery and plug the G4 to the power-supply...
The device has not been used for a couple of months. The last action a Upgrade to WM6.5 that worked definitively fine for a while.
Has anybody an idea? Or happend before?
Thanks in advance
Ernie
i think it`s easy
hey .. i doubt you have a problem with your g4 phone, i think you have a problem with the battery. since you left the batter inside the phone for alot of months and you didn`t use it, i think the battery is super dead, so dead, that the g4 cant power off and go to charge mode. 1 : you could try letting it charge more, like .. 1 hr plugged in , orrr , you could find an universal charger, which charges the battery by touching it`s + and - with it`s pins and putting electricity in it. (sorry for the bad explanation but i`m from romania). I think one of them two should work, if you know some other friend who has a working g4 just try with his battery. Good luck ! ^_^
Thanks for your reply.
But it happens without (!) the battery: If disassemble the battery and connect afterwards the power cable, the red LED does not flash, and no key has a function. As Soft-Reset "switch" and Hard-Reset (2-button on the left plus Soft-Reset-Switch)
First i mentioned the same as you thought...
Has anybody an idea what can be done here?
Thanks in advance.
Ernie
I'm encountering this same problem. I let the device charge over night with no luck. It will not power on at all. The battery was working fine last week. its completely dead
My Universal turn on the red LED for a seconds and after that do not charge and do not turn on. Have you find any solutions?
Thanks
exactly the same problem here on touch 3g
i got my touch 3g in Jan 2009 in Shanghai,China. Now i'm in singapore.... it's bricked, i didn't do anything wrong, it's not dropped on the ground or into the water, yesterday it was fine, but this morning i just found that it's power off. plugging in the power cable , and i won't see the orange power led. it's completely dead, soft reset and hard reset can not be initiated, because it refuses to power on.
i'm going to htc care center at harbourFront next weekend ...

You’re in the wrong section this is the Wizard forum.
I use a universal charger. Its one which takes the battery not one which plugs into the phone ...
whenever I let my phone run flat I leave the battery in the charger for a couple of hours then put it back in the phone and connect the phone charger. Once there are enough electrons whizzing around in the battery there's enough power to drive the IC that manages the charging in the phone ...
if the battery is too flat it won't even open the gates for you ...

Phone going dead after a large Outlook e-mail synchronization

Hi guys,
I'm repasting what I wrote in my previous thread hoping you can have a clearer view of my issue.
My phone has the standard ROM, WP 6.5, nothing changed
I never flushed the phone, never formatted it, etc, everything is legit!
My TG01 has died many months ago and now I'm looking into ways of having it re-activated. I will explain to you my possible theories why it died, so maybe some of you will have an idea how to fix it
- For the first 4-5 months I only used PC USB (synchronization) charging, as I had a UK mains which obviously does not work in Europe. I noticed that the battery indicator was never really accurate, showing me the battery levels very vaguely.
- I often synchronized my Outlook e-mails with my mobile phone, one day my phone died when I chose to synchronize all e-mails. It died to an extent that the battery was completely empty. My PC wouldn't recognize it and it would only start for 5 seconds (the red led lamp would shine) and then die...
I somehow managed to revive it with my normal charger but afterwards it used to overheat quite a lot...
- One day I left it to synchronize again and the battery died on me again (at least that's what I think had happened)... the difference that USB PC charging did not work anymore as well mains charging. I was desperate enough to buy a replacement battery from eBay and I still have the same story. When I connect the phone to the charger I don't even see the diode lighting up anymore.. NOTHING. Any tips?
Could it be that the replacement battery is also so empty that even a mains can't charge it anymore? I heard someone mention something with cutting a wire etc, ... would that help me? IF so.. how do you exactly do that?
Thanks!
Hi guys,
So far no luck in getting updates from you, but I've got an update for myself:
I somehow managed to get the LED diode turn red when I connected it to the computer, which should be indicating the fact that the phone is charging, right? When I try to power it up the device manager recognizes a device called TOSHIBA DL... does this mean my phone is in some sort of emergency state?
The screen lights up a bit as well, but remains black.
yess this means your tg01 is NOT bricked. try take your battery out and put it back in so its totaly switched off then press n hold CAMERA, VOL UP, POWER keys to perform a master reset. if that doesnt work try this,
use the short pin method, put a .tsw in a PRG folder at the root off your sd card and short pins 1 and 3
if not,
download a tg01 rom in a .bin and flashh the .bin via tgdownloader
if you dont know these methods please tell me and i will link and help you.
Hi!
Thanks for your reply. If you could guide me a bit with the pins method, that would be great.
Also, when I plug in the mobile phone to charge now the red light is now flashing, instead of remaining constant, what could that indicate?
Phone never turns on now
hi there, it sounds like your battery has gone flat try leaving it on charge via USB for a few hours see if that will kickstart it and for the pin method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654674
try to charge your battery first as it may just be a flat battery but if not you may need to reflash your rom via the pin method
if there are any problems or you are unsure message me back

[Q] Tricky brick question, stuck at charging screen, won't boot

Hi,
I recently helped a friend to change a broken digitizer glass screen on a Nokia Lumia 920 with RM-821. I ordered the new digitizer on ebay from china/hongkong so can't say anything about its functionality or possible compatibility issues.
When I started to change the digitizer the battery was very low. When I thought everything was done properly and the phone was put together again, and tried to start it, and nothing happened. I think I also tried a vol down+power button soft reset, and i remember i got some feedback from the vibrator but nothing from the screen. Well, I took it apart again and quickly discovered that the screen cable wasn't properly attached, so I attached it. (afterwards I saw somewhere that a low-battery soft-reset was a sure way to brick the phone...)
Next step, I've put the phone together and try to start it, nothing happens. Connect to charger, after some seconds a vibration, followed by the Nokia logo and then a screen with a flash and a cog-wheel (nothing animated). This is the state it is permanently stuck in. The only way to "start it" is to connect the charger and wait. If the charger is disconnected at the Nokia logo then it goes to the "no-battery"-icon and the powers off. At the flash-cogwheel it is possible to restart the phone by holding vol-down+power.
I let the charger be in for multiple hours, still the same thing. Took out the battery and charged it manually with external charger and some home-made wiring. That charger directly indicated that the battery was full with its indicator LED, but i still let it be for around an hour. Conclusion: battery is charged and most likely were charged in the phone.
I've tried to connect it through Nokia Software Updater for Retail 4.2.1, and the "my phone doesn't boot"-option doesn't find the phone after holding vol-down+power. (as described here http://www.wpcentral.com/suffering-spinning-cogs-issue-nokia-windows-phone-fix and other places)
No connection with Nokia Care Suite 5.4.119 either, using method as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47195500
SUMMARY
Since connecting the charger starts the phone, some part of the usb must work. The screen apparently work, don't know about the digitizer obviously. Since it is possible to restart from "flash+cog-wheel"-screen the side buttons aren't dead. Since removing the charger at the "flash-cog-wheel" screen doesn't power off the phone the battery does in fact work.
Naturally I can't rule out that I managed to break something on the mainboard when I changed the digitizer, even though I don't think so.
Hope somebody can help!
