Wallaby not charge/power on - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hi, I have a Wallaby that not comes on, and not charge... no leds, nothing... i checked the fuse inside and make a wire connection over it but still nothing happens. Battery seems to be ok, checked with voltmeter.
Any solutions or help
Thanks,

Some "life" - when I remove the battery and insert it again, and when put the XDA in the cradle - red led blinks one time?
Any ideas?

Same for me
Even if I do not remove the battery, but I slightly remove the connector, I see the red led and a kind of flash in the screen, but after that, nothing else.
Alex

dont believe the cradle for wallaby can charge over usb so make sure the psu is also connected to the cradle

My cradle is modded to charge from usb, the battery is charging (I test it via multimeter).

Unit won't stop charging!

I have bought a second hand XDA and I am using a USB Sync charge cable to charge it. The problem I Have is that the unit doesn't stop charging and the battery pack (standard not extended) gets very hot.
If I disconnect the usb cable and reattach it after it has been charging for a long time the light goes green instantly and it stops charging but if I just leave the cable in it never goes green. The same does happen with the mains charger but I rarely use this.
I am fearing that this could cause the battery to become unusable in time.
Can anyone suggest what might be wrong?
Thanks
try another cable
Tried another USB cable - this one exhibits the same symptoms.
I tried my mains cable last night - that seems to charge fully, but then reverts to a flashing green led (mobile phone signal) instead of a constant one indicating it is fully charged.

Can't charge O2 XDA (Wallaby)

Hi! I have a prob, for me it's a major prob, since it's the first time I'm using it and don't know how to solve it. I have probs with the cradle, I can't charge it even I've plugged in the power cable (with the AC wire/adapter) to the cradle and also the USB wire connected to my desktop. I'm using Linux for my desktop. The PDA doesn't show the charging signal (amber/green light) ever, and this is a new prob, it doesn't happen yet. When I switch off the main plug, means everything that connected to, the cradle and my desktop, my PDA automatically switched on when the USB wire connected, but not switched on when it's disconnected, the power cable still remains the same, never disconnect it. Hopefully, to those who really expert about it, please help me as soon as you can.
Thanks
sounds like the battery is dead
if it works even when connected to ac but just don't charge
But before this, I still can charge it normally. How can I know whether the battery is dead or something else? Does the battery only have problem, or related to the cradle too? If I can't buy the same cradle as I've got, can I still use other cradle like for O2 XDAII, O2 XDA Atom etc?
Thanks for the replies
if it gets power so it's running when in the cradle then the cradle is fine
OK. When recently you've said that the battery is dead, how does it happen? And now, I still put my PDA on the cradle, USB and Power Supply cable still connected, but nothing happen, still not charging. So, what is the way to solve this that you might want to suggest? Rather than modify the cradle itself, because I'm not so good in electronic
batteries got a sudden time you can charge them and they die it's the same for all batteries
but if when you put your device in the cradle or connect it to the charging connector for the ac psu and nothing happens at all the device don't power on or anything then
it could be the connector in the phone which is damaged
buy a new battery they are cheap ~$8 on ebay.
i cant really understand you but I have experiance with the older HTCs horrible battery management.
plugged in+noncharging+no startup tends to imply either a bad cable or bad battery.
could be a bad phone as well, but it'd show a light of some sort i believe.
grab a new battery off ebay.

Prime won't charge

Hello
My prime was charged a few weeks ago, and i haven't used it in a while so it discharged and turned off.. Now when I try to plug It in, it shows that it is charging, but nothing happens..
It charged for 3 hours, and when I unplug it, it can't turn on.
If I leave it plugged in and turn it on, it shows a screen with low battery icon and turns off immediately.
I can charge the keyboard just fine, the charging led on the keyboard turns green after a while.
It's rooted, but stock rom and have never unlocked it, so no customer recovery..
Hope someone can help me out :/

It sounds like your battery may have died on you.
Are you using the AC charger or the usb charger?
Mine takes a long time on the usb but charges better on ac.
Are you charging them both while docked, if so try undocking and charging them separately.
How old is the battery, Prime now?
The battery is guaranteed for 12 or 24 months also, just check where your serial number is and it will have a 12 or 24 number on the right under your model number.
Also,l check the charging port and make sure no debris or foreign matter has accumulated in it and some of the pins aren't bent.
If none of this works it means you have an internal problem and a different recovery won't help because you still cannot get it charged.
Post back with your results please.

I've tried both charging it through USB from my computer and through the wall charger (original charger and cable).
I've tried charging it both docked and undocked, separate and together.
The Prime is bought about 7 months ago, and i have checked for dust and such in the various parts.
It says "12" below the serial number btw, but i bought it from England (i live in Denmark) though Amazon, so it would be hard for me to return it..
Though there is 1 thing that is bugging me and i'm not sure if it can be the problem.
There is 1 pin that's not aligned with the others on the charger port on the prime itself
Picture to explain: http://i45.tinypic.com/2r4sw7t.jpg
The 2nd pin from the far left is a bit longer inside the device than the others. I've tried to get it out by using a little metal stick (don't know what its called ) but I've been unsuccessful..
The prime obviously gets some sort of connection when i plug it in (though only if i plug it into the wall charger, doesn't happen with USB, which i kinda predicted) and gets enough power to vibrate, then turn on for about 4 seconds to show a big red battery icon (meaning low power) and then turns off..
I've tried to correct the pins on the wall charger so they're more stable and connect better, i've tried putting the wall charger in the freezer for 20min (google'd it as a possible solution, other said it helped them). I currently don't have any other charger or cable that can connect/charge the prime, but i don't think the problem lies with the charger/cable..
I left the dock+prime docked together charging all night and when i woke up, the dock LED was green but it still wasn't able to boot up at all..
Is there anything i can do to reset the Prime? I've tried the little pin hole under the sd card slot, i've tried various combinations of volume up and volume down and power, but i always end up with the screen with the big red battery icon..

I am 90% sure that 2nd pin from the left is your problem. if you cant find a way to pop it back into place or dont know somebody who can do it for you then you should probably rma.
here is a thread about the pinout. Take a look at the diagram on post 6 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630300&highlight=pinout
Hi there,
My TFP won't charge or be recognized by my iMac. I have changed the battery, no joy; I replaced the charging port; no joy; and got new charger and cable even though all my others charged other devices, .
Any ideas? Much appreciated

This happened to me because the battery connector inside the device was loose, I had to open up the device up and re-connect it. This time, I've placed some tape to try and make it not fall out again. Maybe the battery is faulty?

[Q] New old phone battery stuff...

Hi, please stick with me a minute!
I was gifted (elderly, but usually savvy aunt) an early droid razr after battery fail (and verizon replacement to a newer phone).
I was given an XT912, with 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US installed.
Also: cable marked: Motorola Data Cable SKN6428A 12150-0403532 and
double usb wart, folding prongs: SPN5689A 11268-C6-0821306-13D1 DC4050US0305.
It would only run when I pinned an USB cable directly to the battery terminals.
Battery would not charge, so I ordered another.
Now, new battery is in, and it will run from battery (still open back).
Wall wart/cable shows NO indication it is charging - white LED blinks on insertion (often starts), and that is it - no other lights, no charge icon, no charge text (Battery applied voltage does not change.).
USB to to computer shows no lights, DOES show charge icon, DOES show charge text (I can see battery applied voltage go up a bit with meter).
Is this all normal?
Is it the right cable for wall and USB use? Was there only 1 in OE box?
(I'm very suspicious because this cable/wart WILL charge my N7, but not this droid razr.)
Is there a special cable for wall wart? Pinout?
(I tried re-flashing existing OE rom, same results.)
THANKS ANY AND ALL!
OK, I flashed a couple of more times, and now I get a steady white light on wall/usb insertion, still no charge icon, no charge text.
Is there supposed to a (while off) charging screen? After short push?
THX

No Charging/USB connection, or pogo.

Hey guys, I am having an issue with my one X+, I can't charge it, I have tried through USB and through the POGO pins, it won't seem to charge.
As far as the pogo pin charging, will it show a charge light?
The device also won't connect to USB on the PC. I haven't tried in fastboot, but it won't work while on.
I still have some battery life left, about 12%, but that's about it.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a fix or possible issue this could be.
Have you tried to use the original genuine HTC cable?
It should always light red when charging, also when connected by pogo. Here's the proof:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELsXu7IQomo
Skip to 4:20. The red light is barely visible (because it's small, shame you HTC!), but when the reviewer waves his hand it becomes slightly visible.
What happened with your phone? Had your phone contact with water?

No water damage on it, I purchased it as is, it boots and seems fine, it was charging for maybe 20 minutes before I factory reset it, after that is when it stopped seeming to charge.
As far as the HTC cable, I have not, I have one here at work I am going to take to try.
Ok, so update on the Situation, I used the HTC cable, No change, no charging light, no fastboot to PC. PC doesn't detect device.
Update: I tested with a micrometer, when USB is plugged in, it sends 5v to the battery as it should, could it be a software issue that it's not charging?
Also, if the battery is the issue, would it allow USB connection when it's booted? If it is damaged, would it even show a charge light?
If anyone can, and maybe has time, and patience, I would very much like to know the voltages on the battery slot on the motherboard when USB is plugged in, I seem to get around 4.5-5v, but I get that on each of the 5 prongs.
