[ROM] SLIDE-Reloaded v1 [10/15/10] Sense 2.1 >>Font Updates<<>>Faves button Remap<<
Let me start by saying that I am not a dev but I do have an intrest in learning as much as I can about Android and theming on roms. So after being on the forum for a bit now and trying to learn a few things, this is what I have come up with. I have taken CR's OTA and done a few things to it. I will try to list everything, but I might miss a thing or two. If you would like to dl the stock deodexed rom without any framework changes click HERE
This rom is based off CR_Mod_1.35.531_OTA
I would like to thank ChiefzReloaded, eugene373, Roman, Kingofyo1, dumfuq, sino8r, Cyanogen and all the other people that have contributed to the Slide community and its development. I would also like to say thanks to the1wingedangel for writing the code that made the "Faves" mod possable.
Please keep in mind that you are flashing these mods at your own risk and I am not responsable for anything that happens to your phone.
With that being said, I bring you:
SLIDE-Reloaded v1 DOWNLOAD MIRROR
-Deodexed
-Apps2SD (Darktremor)

-Removed extra themes

-Probably stuff I forgot
_____ADDITIONAL MODS/UPDATES YOU CAN FLASH_(Optional)_________
*All mods/updates should be flashed using Rom Manager or Clockwork Recovery*
If you would like the stock font, you can dl the update HERE and flash via recovery
or you can click HERE and fash any of the fonts in that thread without a problem.
If you would like your Faves button to open another application such as Gmail or
Messaging you can download the update for that below. If you dont see something
that works for you, let me know and I will see what I can do.
Faves to Gmail-------------------->MIRROR
Faves to Mms/Messaging-------------------->MIRROR
Faves to Browser---------------------->MIRROR
Faves to Music---------------------->MIRROR
Faves to Voice Search-------------------------->MIRROR
Faves to Search Contacts--------------------->MIRROR
Faves to Contacts------------------------->MIRROR
THE ABOVE MODS/UPDATES SHOULD WORK FOR ANY STOCK EXPRESSO 2.1 DEODEXED ROMS AND
DO NOT REQUIRE A DATA WIPE, SO FLASH AWAY!!
Under Construction
-Need to learn how to change background color
-Custom Rosie.apk (Hopefully)
-More Themes to come!!!
This rom is running Darktremor's Apps2SD.
If you would like to enable it, follow the instructions below
for installation and make sure your sd card is partitioned.
If not, then just skip step 5.
And dont forget to do a nandroid backup.
Rom Installation Instructions
1. Use Rom Manager to wipe/nandroid/flash SLIDE-Reloaded or
2. From clockwork recovery do a full data wipe and cache wipe
3. Flash SLIDE-Reloaded
4. After boot-up go through set up and pick theme and finish.
5. To activate Apps2SD: Using Root Explorer, open it and
navigate to data and then look for a folder called 1_app_extras.
Inside the folder are a few extra usefull apps. Look for
Terminal Emulator install it and open it. Then type in these commands:
su (enter) Superuser will popup. Push YES. Then type
cd system/bin (enter)
a2sd cachesd (enter) It should install, takes about 30 sec.
When it is finished installing it should have a # sign
You can now back out of those apps and reboot your phone.
Apps2SD should now be installed.
6. Install your apps and enjoy!!!
Keep in mind that this rom is a little larger than stock because of the 1_app_extras folder. If that bothers you you can remove it out of the data folder to cut down on space. To access the 1_app_extras folder and the apps that are inside it you must Root Explorer, a normal file manager wont work. Just open Root explorer and navigate to data then to 1_app_extras. You can just install the apps from there. With all my apps (77 total) installed and running like I have explained I have about 90 MB of Available internal storage.
One of the things that I am liking about this rom is being able to change themes with the touch of a button. I really wanted to try and use the themes to our advantage and give you guys some things you would like.
I have some more ideas for themes, but it would be great to hear some of your ideas. Please post them.
As far as I could tell everything works great but if you guys find anything
please let me know and I will see what I can do to get it fixed up.

Hello,
# 1 Thanks for the post
Themes look good. Are these just modified my modes themes or is this something that you came up with on your own such that we might have the ability to change status bar icons etc when we switch themes?
Thanks in advance.
One theme is the framework and one is a my mode theme. I don't think you can add the needed files to the my modes themes but that was one of the things I was going to work on for future updates. I could make a update zip with the the files needed to change those things but it would have to be flashed. It wouldnt be as easy as changing themes now.
I love CR_Mod and 2.1 Espresso! Will flash this now. Thanks.
Forever to boot up. No problem. Said internal memory was low, down to 3.5mb. Font too big, no problem... was gonna change it.
Restoring Nandroid! Thanks, though.
Great work, looks good
Love It
I absolutely love your modded-rom and this is giving me a reason to run 2.1 until 2.2sense is released for us mtslide users.....

cool. Glad you like it.
This is a great ROM. Thanks for sharing your work!
damn dude, this is a very nice and different rom! i'm gonna update the slide bible for this asap!
Great rom. Only gripe is I didn't see the need to leave both music apps in. Its like when some roms have both Gallerys. Both are good so chose one and kill the other. We don't have gigs of internal memory to spare like other phones, unfortunately. However, that's nothing, this is a GREAT rom!!

I am used to using my Nexus One and splitting time between a Sense Rom by Evil and More stock Froyo by MicroMo and Enom. Had a heck of a time, getting my wife's fairly new MyTouch slide to root so I could do some customizing. Plus had to get used to Clockwork when I was schooled with AmonRecov. Anyways, so far, no problems. Her issue is the Font you use. She feels it's kind of hard to read. Not sure you can offer a tip on just changing up your main Font you use, or having to just apply another theme.
Is a them-er working with you yet. Metamorph or flash either way? Anyways, kudos for a nice alternative sense ROM.

My setup has 48Mb free on after only installing a few apps. I am familiar with using DarkT's aps2d, but while I had wanted to add an ext3 setup, like on my N1, I was unfamiliar with how to do this with Clockwork Recovery. I had dabbled quickly with an initial install of CM 6.0 and did see his options added for partitioning. Now, I just noticed ROM Manager, which basically will work with Clockwork to do this, so as I was typing to ask, I just noticed how Anyways, just a comment on space available.
OK...sorry for long post. If I use ROM manager options to create the EXT and it basically deletes all the info, can I use a backup I just ran to restore to the new partitioned setup?

I used my old g1 and amon recovery to partion and I have a ext2 partition. I think rom manager works to partition but I would make a copy of all the contents on your sd card and save it on your PC and then repartion your card and copy the stuff back to ensure you dont lose anything. As for the font, you are the second person to mention something about it so let me see if I can make a update .zip to change the font back to stock. Unless there is a font she would like better. If so then just say the word.
I am not sure why you have such little space after install. Like I said in a previous post, I have about 80mb upon fresh install. I am going to do some investigating into it. Maybe pull out a sd card that hasnt been partitioned and try a install with that.
I dont have any theme-er working with me. Metemorph as far as I know still wont work with our phones yet. I havent made a update.zip yet but i am going to. It will prob be later tonight b4 I get a chance to delve more into it.
Great work!!!

Thanks for getting back. Any stock looking font would make her happy. Just seems some of the screens, like settings, the font is a little too big so some of the text isn't readable. Would be nice if you could make a flash file where a table of fonts could be chosen from a menu. Maybe too much, but just a thought. Anyways, other than the Font, all is working well on her phone. Great work and appreciated....

INSTALLATION
- Backup and restore
When you download the file and unzip, you'll see a folder "backup-inst". In it you'll find three more folders, SW_Ging_Rom_V0.2 which must be copied to /sdcard/xrecovery/backup/, iconos must be copied to /sdcard/ and lpshortcut which must be copied to /sdcard too. The file instrucciones.txt tries to explain how to install it and working swype. Once you have done this, reboot your phone in recovery mode, and select backup and restore, select restore, and select SW_Ging_Rom_V0.2 and confirm. That's all
- UPDATE.ZIP
When unziped downloaded file, you'll find too update.zip. Copy it to /sdcard and reboot in recovery mode. Now you have two choices, first select full wipe and confirm, and afeter select install update.zip.This will install the rom after deleting all your data and customization. Second way is just select install update.zip (do not use full wipe), and this will install the rom keeping your data and previous customization.
Thats all. Hope you like it. If wanna thank please donate.
Watch the video for installing rom from update.zip here
Of course, this is rom SW_Ging_Rom_V0.2 with apps installed by me. The one to uploaded wont have warez.
If you like what you download for your use, please donate.

Any chance you could make one without HandCent for messaging?
Cant stand that app with the huge delay problem from receiving the text and the notification.
El-lobo's rom had it and it was a right carry on to remove and install the stock one again.
Also are you gonna do this one in English so i can have the proper keyboard?
Cheers.

I'll give it a shot and remove the handcent messaging though and install the stock one.
Handcent would be fine if it wasnt for that bloody delay lol
i now have an english home built rom
i am currently working on it myself, just going over and over making sure it has no apps that are not needed my rom. What i am making will be a completely stripped down version of stock which will probably have adw or zeam as its launcher (with the option of the one i install OR the original home launcher to be used by you guys with no default set for ease) also im making this rom on stock eclair build so you guys should be fine to flash it straight without going near the full wipe function in recovery (ive read in a number of places full wipe on mini/pro in xrecovery is NOT ADVISABLE so please look into this before you go ahead and wipe as your phone may still function ok after wards but it may also deeply suffer from a full wipe too so be careful
i am interested to see what people make of my customized stock rom
Hi, I just would like to ask how you guys doing your BackUps of ypur TG01. I can see lots of as is traing different cooked rooms and i cnow how to restore my ow personal data like phone book, sms, email or so but how i can restore installed applications, software and all staff i had on my phone installed before i change the Room but with home screen or UI from the new Room.
I du not believe all of you is installing all applications aver again and again after you change the room with different UI like SPB or HTC Sence.
Thanks
Roman
Good question! I've always had the same curiosity, because as I have a lot of apps installed on my device and I need it for my private and professional life, I had never tested any ROM, not for the PIM dates (easy to recover from Pimbackup or the useful Microsoft MyPhone) but to avoid installing all the apps again!
Recently and to avoid this problem, I've bought a cheap screen scratched TG01 , just for testing roms!
But coming back to your question, I'm interested in the answer as well!

I will say the answer is VERY simple!!!
You just need a bit of help from cooks! It's tricky job but works mostly!
XDA_UC
This is an app that can be cooked within the ROM. Before you flash a new ROM, all you need to do is check if the ROM has XDA_UC or not. If your new ROM has XDA_UC, then simply create a folder in your SD card as "XDA_UC", without the inverted commas. In this folder add ALL your cabs. Once flash finishes, XDA_UC will autoinstall all cabs for you while you sit back, relax and enjoy your tea!
Now, I know you will want to be greedy like I do - 'What about my apps from marketplace?' - no luck there friends! But in market place you can choose to 'install all apps' once you log in - so it's not that time consuming either!
In my future ROMs you will definitely see XDA_UC. Also I am right now working on cooking XDA_UC in DruROM1, DruROM2, DruROM3: So look out for an edit soon

Not bad, thanks for the trick, nevertheless, most of the apps need a register operation, and I'm afraid that this must be always "hand made"....

Guys, I have updated all 4 druROMs with AUTOCAB install now. You can add all your registry tweaks, your PIM back up files and your cabs that you wish to install (both those that need you to press something while installinga and those that dont!) in a single folder on your storage card and once you flashing my rom you can install all of it just by 3 clicks! (yes literally 3 - not counting scrolls)

Since I saw some AMAZING themes but I was unable to install'em, I wanna ask if somebony is able to link some themes which are compactable with Khalpower's V4 GalaxtXT ROM, couse I tryed like 20-25 themes and from all only DarkFroyo V2 and 1 more works.
Thanks alot!
The Honeycomb-theme works fine on V4 (except that you need to replace the keyboard with some keyboard from the Market, but that's the only bug there is).

Kahl has this one posted somewhere in one of his threads. It replaces the stock LatinIME.apk & works fine. Just copy the zip to openrecovery/updates boot into Open Recovery, appy the update, wipe the dalvik-cache & cache partitions & reboot.

When i try to apply the galaxyxtv4 theme update, it does not work! i still have the red theme and i dont know what to do anymore. Isnt that how one apply a theme? am i missing something?
I believe others had issues with that update too. If you're running the PersonaRedv4 I think you can just restore the system partition from KP full GalaxyXTv4 (nandroid restore) & wipe the dalvik-cache & cache partition & reboot.
I was wondering... if I install propper theme which works woth this rom but replace apps from other theme (and apps are more - 6 in compactable theme and about 20 in that one that I will replace with), so will it work as it works with bootanimation, couse if I keep the working theme but put difetent bootanimation it still works.
I'd give a guarded yes. If the filenames of the apps you want to replace match EXACTLY (e.g. maps.apk is not the same as Maps.apk) then they will be overwritten. If they don't match your best bet is probably to remove the apps you want to replace before installing the new ones. You will be limited as to the size of the system partition so adding files as system apps could be problematic but replacing one modded app with another should generally be OK. Another thing to note is (I think) not all apps can be installed as system apps. Note that it is always a good idea to do a nandroid backup before you try making the changes so (when) things go wrong (and they will ) you can get back to a functioning device as painlessly as possible.
Hi guys.
I'm looking for a working Gingerbread Theme for the V4XT rom.
Could you please help me?
Thanx in advance.
I was wondering if this one coud work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9784619&postcount=13
I was previously used it on my original 2.1 Rom and it was absolutely perfect.
I have today tried to install many themes with the new khalpower v4.
Result was the follwing: I was able to get a decent outcome. Keyboard bug could be fixed but after a couple of theme flashes things started to get weired. First my gmail app stopped working.
After that I only got jibberish as fonts so that I was unable to change languages or anything else for that matter.
I'd very much appreciate ports for the new v4. Right now I'm using the fix described above. Thanks so much! Worked like a charm
For some reason, I can't see my available/total RAM in the task manager or total/used memory in the system storage. It just shows up as ../.. for all values, however, I can see the colour coded bar. I noticed this after I installed ICS Domination 4.4 but I don't see any reason why installing a theme would cause this to happen. Any thoughts as to why this would happen and solutions are appreciated since I really don't want to factory reset. Thanks
Maybe the problem is due to some theme..
Or u installed new theme over an existing theme without wiping...

Well I did wipe both caches... but it could be due to some unforeseen error I guess. What do you think I should do now?
