DCD 3.2.6 - Contacts Blank - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

My contacts screen is blank, but my dialer and messaging show them. When I installed Pocket Informant, it can see them.
I've tried manually creating contacts, importing them with dashwire, importing them with outlook sync and also through exchange -- no luck.
Any ideas on how to show my contacts in the "contacts" screen?

Funny that, I have exactly the same problem. I am thinking of changing the default contacts to icontacts or similar. Did you get a solution in the end?

No numbers for contacts imported by syncing with google?

Can anyone help me solve this problem?
I exported all my old contacts to a CSV. I then updated my Hero's ROM and started fresh. To get my contacts back I just imported them into my google contacts and synced the phone.
It appeared to sync fine, all the contacts came up - but NONE of them have any phone numbers, birthdays, other information that is all clearly there when I view the contacts in gmail.
Birthdays etc I can deal without, but no phone numbers is a BIG problem as I have over 400 contacts and I'm not interested in typing them all back into the phone. Why isn't google contacts sync working correctly?
Has anyone else had this problem?
Though I haven't had a problem with syncing Gmail contacts to my Hero, I would like to know this just in case it happens.
I had trouble synching the contacts I had uploaded to the gmail web site on my wife's phone. we go them to synch correctly by forcing a new synch event.
go Home and press Menu
Select Settings, the "Data Synchronization" form the list that comes up
Select Google from the next list
Under the section "Application sync settings" remove the checkmark next to Contacts
Wait a few seconds then put the checkmark back. This fiorced a synch and pulled up the gmail contacts that were loaded on the web page.
I hope this helps!

SMS People

Has anyone noticed (2.1 HTC OTA Link) that if you accidnetly synced your gmail contacts, you can unsync them from you main call people but there is no way to remove them from when you compose a new text message and pull up your sms people. I also had an issue with the sms people duplicating my activesync contacts. The only resolution I could figure out was to export all of my contacts out of gmail and resync, empting those, and import back and choose option not to sync. Likewise for Outlook. I would prefer to keep my outlook syncing because if I add a new contact I want it to be stored off the phone somewhere. Also, program in market Delete Contacts, said it deleted my contacts but actually did nothing. Thoughts? Fourth day with Droid Eris so wouldn't be surprised I've fouled.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy I9003 : Contact Issues - Gmail vs Outlook

I had email contacts in Gmail and phone contacts in Outlook on my PC.
Some were for the same person so the names were the same in Gmail and Outlook. In some cases these were merged on my phone but not all, some appeared twice.
Not sure if there is any restriction on having same name contacts in Gmail and Outlook so to simplify matters I decided to dispense with Outlook and keep all contacts (email and phone) in Gmail.
Was this really necessary?
Now I notice that four mail contacts do not appear in the contact list on the phone. However they do get picked up by Gmail when I compose a mail.
Have synced a number of times but no change.
Can see no reason why these particular contacts should be missed.
The four contacts are all in "Other contacts" in Gmail.
Problem solved by changing Display Options / All other contacts.
However it is strange that only 4 out 15 entries in "Other contacts" were affected.

[Solved] Mass Removing Contacts from Gmail Sync

I set up my Galaxy S II Skyrocket to sync with both my personal and work Gmail accounts. Trouble is, it synced about 4,000 contacts from the work Gmail.
Now, I understand that I can hide those in the display options, but I want them gone completely. I deselected "Contacts" from syncing with my office Gmail, but the huge number of contacts remains.
How can I remove the contacts that are attached with specifically the work Gmail, and leave behind my own personal contacts?
Thank you for the help.
Edit: Well, it figures I'd spend a week figuring this problem out, only to solve it the moment I ask for help. For those who may have a similar problem and stumble across this thread in the future, here's how I solved it:
I downloaded Samsung Kies to sync my phone with my PC.
I then performed a full backup of my phone (especially the contacts).
On the left hand side of Kies, under the section labeled "Connected devices," I selected "Contacts" from under my phone. I then selected the tab with my synced emails, and from there could easily select all the contacts associated with the offending account, and deleted them.
Click "Save to device" and you're done. Huzzah.
I could be wrong, but if you go into:
Settings->Accounts and Sync-> [the account for your work email]
And uncheck Contacts, I think they'll be gone again. Looks like you tried that. If you did, and they're still there, check the sync settings. You can choose the priority (i.e. keep the contacts from the phone, delete those from the gMail server etc).
When all else fails, delete all of your contacts, uncheck Contacts from the work account and resync properly.

[Q] Managing contacts

I have all of my contacts stored in gmail contacts online.
In the course of trying to tidy up contacts on my phone, deleting duplicate/unnecessary info and 'joining' multiple accounts (mostly gmail, facebook and whatsapp) I had a bit of a Homer Simpson moment managed to delete all of my contacts (D'Oh!!).
Fortunately, as I said above I have them in gmail contacts online and had also exported them to my SD card as a vcard and so have managed to get them back (albeit having to tidy them up again).
Here's the thing though, when I go to the Contacts menu item 'Contacts to display' the contacts show when All Contacts or Gmail account are selected, but when I select Phone contacts in 'Contacts to display' the list is empty.
How do I move/copy my gmail contacts so that they are held in the actual phone memory and displayed if I opt to display Phone contacts only (i.e. no longer link to my gmail contacts)?
Cheers in advance,
Rich
I think what you need to is to sync your contact again. Contact to display is only show if your phone have a contact that is available in your gmail contact only.
copy contacts to phone only

Click to collapse
I think you've misunderstood my original question. I have got the contacts visible when I view all contacts or view gmail contacts, but there is an option in the contacts menu to view contacts on phone only (i.e. not those stored in gmail contacts). When I use that option I don't see any of my contacts. Therefore, what I need to be able to do is copy the contacts across from gmail contacts so they are visible in the phone contacts only view, but I can't figure out how to copy them across to the phone.
Never had to do it on either my s2 or s3 before. I did do it on my old HTC via a menu option along the lines of 'Copy contacts to phone' but there isn't a menu option like that on the s3 unless I'm missing something obvious.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers.
