Camera problem in WM 6.1 - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

Hey. When i try to take a pic i get the messege "Unable to capture, Not enough memory, 36001:102:0" I set it to save image to storage card(2gb) and there is 1 gb free. It´s taking pics with 2 mp but when i change it to take with 1,3 mp there is no problem. Im using [WM6.1] Touch Evolution UC rom. Can enybody help?

Make sure that there is some space free on the Main Memory. I would say at least 5-10 MegaByte.

Camera Not Recognising Free Space on SD Card

OK, here is my Dilema.
I have a 8GB memory card with 4GB free space and the default destination to store pictures on my phone is the Storage Card. But for some reason, the Camera App only lets me take a maximum of 13 pictures, Video only 2 minutes, and then it displays out of memory.
I have copied off everything and Formatted the SD Card, and it still displays the same thing.
But if I switch storage to Main Memory, it says 156 pictures can be taken, and yet it only has like 145MB left there. And the size of the pictures are 745KB at most so far.
Any help here would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Bump for this.....i ran into the same issue. Does anyone else have this problem or perhaps some sort of solution for this?
is there a registry setting that locks how much of the memory can be used for pictures?

Background Running Program Is Automatically Closed in Atom

this time i m using jiggs rom 8mb page pool it is fantastic and fast than other rom but i m suffering one problem in my atom my background running program is automatically closed i m opening more than one application when i work on another application i find that my previous running application (which is running in background) is closed
any one help me
pls solve my problem any my senior
this problem causes freeram utility called oxios close apps
if you want to free ram use oxios hibernate instead
but my memory already free more than 13mb this time i m using touch flow 2d in my atom it close automatically in some time and other program also closed
the freeram utility automatically closes background running apps even if you use it once...
and 13mb is not very much (maybe with this memory its standard ability of WM)
pls solve
this time i m using two main application in my atom is touch flow 2d which takes 3.5 mb
and 2nd one is yota phone and contacts it takes 3mb it is running in background in my atom and my free memory is 13.5 mb but i face main problem is that after some time touchflow is automatic close i don't understand this problem because my atom is already 13.5 free memory pls help my seniors
The thing i can think of that would cause that is windows is closing your other programs to make way for the programs you open up such as Yota Contacts. Alternatively it could be because of the amount of CPU resources each program requires... but that's fairly unlikely.
thaks bhai or brother for ur suggestion

256MB RAM? How can we be sure?

Hi guys,
I have a serious doubt that s740 has 256MB. I think that OS only thinks that way. These are the arguments for my doubt :
1. I have an application that shows message box with question before it closes. Usually when OS notices that system is low on memory it starts to close applications. Sometimes while this application is in background, message box pops up (not because I tried to close it, OS obviously thinks it is low on memory)
2. I have never seen significantly less than 100MB of free RAM in any applications that shows that information
3. I created an application that loads some text files into a memory. I started it when my device was close to a 100MB of free RAM. Very soon I got OutOfMemoryException although I had 100MB of RAM left!!
4. Once I bought 32GB SD card from eBay. After a test I figure it out that card was 4GB although it appeared to any PC it was 32GB. I saw on the some forums that I was not the only one with that problem. Many face the same when buying SD card from eBay and China. Point of this...it is possible to alter memory controller in order to trick the system.
If there is anyone who saw in any task manager or something less than 100MB of free RAM, please report it here. Also if you know some way we can be sure that there really is 256MB of RAM on our devices please let us know.
I got less than 100MB free RAM ...
Yep, me too

Actually you don't.
On your screendump you can see clearly "0.12G" (about 120 MB) free from a totall of 0.18G

Actually, I do.
.12G is used, 61mb free, which comes to a total of .18G

Not wanting to nitpick (as the issue mentioned at the start is the question if there's really the advertised 256 MB RAM, which actually appears to be 187 MB), but you're reading the Resco System Info incorrectly.
As you can see on your screendump, your 16 GB (14.83G) storage card is almost full (red bar, 97%) with only about "0.40G" available. This is shown on the right side, just like the ".12G" or about 120 MB.
Whoops, you're right. My bad. I'd suspect that the "missing" mbs are taken up by the os itself? either way, I have yet to run into an out of memory error on this device, and i have constantly up to 5 progs running in the background...

The way OS handles automatic closing of application is rather complicated and does not depend on free memory only.

Windows Mobile 6.1 is still based on Windows CE 5 core, which allows 32MB of memory per process (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_ce#Versions). Bear in mind that you are also using .NET, which in itself is a bit memory-hungry.
All-in-all I think that device has as much memory as advertised and see no reason why it shouldn't.
BTW my s740 has an 128MB of RAM ('not for sale' version)
CPU
CPU Frequency
RAM
Program memory: OS
Program memory
Memory in use
So maybe some of the Roses can be with 128MB only
...When I used my s710 (64MB of RAM) I had a free RAM value about 10MB. Now my s740 with 128MB of RAM but free RAM value still about 10MB. Very very strange

[Q] How to increase Device Storage on HD2 Windows 6.5?

Is there ANY way to increase Device storage on HD 2 (Windows 6.5), and not to hard reset the phone after that? I really love apps, and I've installed pretty much all the neat cabs that I've found among tips and tweaks here (and elsewhere too), and when it was possible - I've installed them on storage card, but some of them doesn't work that way, so I had to install them on Device...And add to that bunch of programs as Freda, BsB, Cookie Home Tab and Editor, SlovoEd Dictionary etc....And, I've already taken care that all of my music, videos and pictures are placed in SD, My documents. But, whatever I do, THERE'S JUST NOT ENOUGH MEMORY ON MY DEVICE STORAGE ((((((((( !!!!!And it's always critical...HELP ((please.....
you need to clear the cache memory of opera , HTC ablum ..... etc ...
Use the Clear temp .... it takes care of all this temp memory ...
I too had same problem .... its so buggin with no storage memory space in the device ...
Since I am not able to post outside link ..... ask the same question in facebook ,,, in HD2Apps link ...
Thanks for the advice! I've found Cleartemp, installed it, and cleared junk...gain about 7MB of space :/ :S (OMG, I'm going to kill myself)...and just found out that the international HD2 (the one I have) has only 448MB of RAM, and 512 ROM, that can't be increased ... While USA Version has 576MB of RAM, and 1GB ROM which is much more cheerful..And what's the point of my SD 16 GB (with 6 GB of free space), when my phone isn't working properly with critically low Device memory...Now, that's sad ....

don't get depressed, you can install most of the apps to the storage card (and keep in device memory only the system ones, as e.g. cookies home tab etc.), then search xda forums for tweaks to move internet explorer and opera cache files to storage card, use clearttemp from time to time (or invest in MemMaid), and you should not lack memory any more

you should install cleanram as it helps free some ram...also get cleartemp as it'll show you what's eating your space up like googlemap and youtube caches so you can delete them easily...and finally don't forget to soft reset
the next tip helps MOST
one more very important thing which saves a LOT of space if you're on stock rom or your cooked rom doesnt have it(highly unlikely) is moving the album cache...read the thread here and look out for 4tune's cab
you should also read tboy200's thread and look at tips 65 and 67
Thanks, this was very helpful ... I'm happy again ! I've already got tired of reseting my phone..twice a day minimum

A small doubt

Can anyone tell me why my camera doesn't work without memory card ? Its showing insert memory card. Come on , not even 5 pics on the onboard memory?
Think its the phone internal memmory.
I think they set android to that because of the storage space of the internal phone memory.
The size of a 5Mp foto takes up some storage. When the internal memory is filled up to much. The phone (android and applications) will slow up/not respond/or crash.
That's correct - since photos from the camera can be over 1mb in size, you'd quickly fill up the internal memory and kill the phone
