@go4thomman: If this is happening in vista, right click on file and click properties. ON the compatibility tab, enable compatibility for XP SP2 and check the box for "Run as Administrator". Click OK, run it and press OK if Vista asks you for admin rights.

no its happening in windows XP. the exact error message is ....
"component 'com32dlg.ocx' or one of its components not correctly registered : a file misssing or invalid"

splash.bat and glue is not working...
In command line glue is showing some error like
"cannot found aa or .001 files".
i tried creating a nbh with a nb image of 150k and i pad it with htcrt to default size. but now its only showing a green screen .....
is there any other tool other than glue for increasing the size......
please help,...

I have no idea, Glue is not working in my home PC but working in my Office . But don't you dare tell it to my boss .
In my case, the error was "Unable to execute Glue.exe". Please try to re download the zip file and retry, there is no reason why it shouldn't find the 001 file !
Hope you have XP SP2 installed? Any way try to install VC++ redistributable if I am not wrong, it updates Microsoft common dialog control ocx and dll, not sure though. But give it a shot. Also you need .Net Framework 2 or higher to run htcrt, please give it a shot.

I downloaded com32dlg.ocx and VC++installation........ i dont know what is this com32dlg.ocx ......but my system had only com32dlg.dll .... now everything is working fine,..........
finally any idea how can we use "Gif" (animated) files for Splash screens and welcomeheads???..... I am sure we can use them..... I have seen many devices......
Animated Splashes are currently not working on my ROMs. I am working on it, will tell u when i get successful.

Oh I see now... file open error.
you've got issues with your user permissions mate, I suggest doing this while logged on as admin, or failing that, run it all from the root of your HDD
I had this same error as well I reccomend what he said above also Make sure no firewalls are up AT ALL !
My firewall is what gave me this error message ... Hope this Helps

I have the same thing utility error 240. I turn off the firewall, the active sysc is good, and able to flash kaiser-HardSPLv1 but unable to flash new rom due to the 240 error. Help please?

Hope you didn't install Hermes Hard SPL on your Kaiser cos you will end up with a brick if you did...

I need someone to provide me a proper guide that will not lead me to other topics and the files i should use in order to upgrade mu Orange M600 SPV with windows mobile 6.1 and some greek support.
Thanks a lot and sorry if i act like a total brat but i tried everything in the guides and i think its too misleading for a newbie like me.
I use this guide:
1. copy the 3 files from the jumpspl.zip (attached at the bottom of this post )to the
ROOT directory of your Prophet ( NOT NOT NOT inside the windows folder,)
2. UNPLUG/disconnect YOUR DEVICE from PC,
3. Execute the SPL.lnk IN THE DEVICE (use Total Commander recommended or you
will make errors), then you see Prophet in all bright or white screen,
4. Then plug back the USB port ( connect to computer), here, nothing will be seen in the prophet
(make step 5 NOW or you will receive errors and need to do over again),
5. THEN execute the Rom Upgrade Utility (ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G3.exe ( or G4), in the
HardSPL folder that you had downloaded, all activities will only take 2-3 minutes to go,
nothing will be seen in the Prophet screen. if you see unknown device detected (not normal) from PC, you need to repeat the above procedures.....
(P.S. if connection Error, NO PANIC, soft reset OR remove battery for half a minute and try again. )
6. after the flash completed, it will restart automatically.

But the SPL.lnk is not running either using total commander or the file explorer.What to do?
Use "Prophet Tools", there is a link in my signature.
This will allow you to HardSPL. Then, you need to get a ROM. I'd recommend one of gullums Coffie ROMs, as they have multilanguage support. They may not be WM6.1, but as far as I know, there are no WM6.1 Greek ROMs ATM.

deactivated your firewall too.
The screen should go white, as the new SPL does that!
i dont have a firewall

I also want to hard SPL my prophet but if i run the prophet tools select G4 and HARD SPL my PDA goes into a white screen and after a short time there is an error on my pc.
So i think i have almost the Same error but my code says ERROR 208 (CANT OPEN FILE)...

Guys i tried to upgrade my imate jasmin, to wm6 the problem was that it started to upgrade the rom but the process was interrupted, when i tried to turn it on again it does not pass the initial blue screen that gives the info of the rom. The active sync does not work because the PDA does not connect to the computer and doesn´t pass from the initial blue screen.
Is there anything you can do, or the PDA is to the trash.

well i used the rom that is the upgrade for wm6 that is on the portal, the one that is for prophet, but the upgrade didn´t reach the end and now the pda does not pass from the blue initial screen and it isn´t possible to achive any type of conection to the PC i don´t know what to do...

In ur case, although the connection seem disabled, we could still force the activesync to work for flashing. Just right click the activesync icon in lower right corner of ur pc, choose connection, force it to search the usb. retry once or twice if u r not sure, then try to reflash the rom while the activesync seem still searching for devices. If it won't start, then the better way is to follow the step from Dioxda2 above. If it started halfway as before mean u have to re download the rom with its all suitable methode such as Hardspl, jumpSpl etc.
This work on my Dopod 818pro while stucked on 3 colour bootloader screen. Hope it will work on ur case too. Good luck.

Hi again, bro. Any progress? Good luck.
I tried every possible way but couldn't get succeed.
Finally I discovered that TNETW1251 driver itself giving this trouble. Driver simply don't respond. Then I converted the wifi driver to module, build the rom and that has fixed my annoying power on issue.

Ok what this means is you have the Driver file as a Example driverfile.dll to use this file in a kitchen it is sometimes better to convert the Dll file to module as modules get automatically registered
Here you can find a tool just drop the dll file onto reversmode.exe and it will be converted to module ready to cook with

well thanks a lot for ur help but were do I find the wifi driver file? and am not a cook but I was hoping if I can use your M2D touch flo 2 ROM? since that's the rom am using it got everything I need if I cook back ur rom with the driver will it work?

Well I dump the rom using neokit awsome program by the way but I tryed to look for the wifi driver but cant find it were can I find it and whats the name of it after dumping the rom? plz help thanks and al keep looking myself
Well the Linux on prophet project is not mines I just posted the pictures and offered help since its a great project

Thanks for all your help I tryed it I found the wifi driver and converted it to module then this is what I did I went into the dump folder then into the tnetwln folder in that I removed the tnetwln.dll file and replaced it with the converted file but the converted file is just folders of other files in it is this correct? anyway I copyed the converted folder were the wifi dll was after I deleted it since they both had the same name then I flashed it it went successful but when I tryed to activate wifi it still wont turn on the the device just gets really warm thanks for your help am guessing that maybe it s a hardware problem and cant be fixed by flashing tryed everything nothing worked.
P.S. Does all the Windows Mobile 6.5 Rom for prophet already use converted wifi modules? and Windows Mobile 6.1 for our prophets?

Also in prophet registry our wifi device is TNETW1 not TNETW1251 so not sure what you are trying to achieve

yeah I know that his device was different am just trying his solution to see if I can get my wifi back or not thats all the registry entry I already know it its just that he said that TNETW1 its not responding and somehow it could be true how can I check to see which program runs in the back ground when WIfI is turned on? if you tell me this a list of processes that run and I try to enable wifi and dont see that service or process running then it can maybe be a problem with my registry getting corrupted every time I flash or the drivers like he said just wont load and thats why I get no Wifi it just wont turn on hope you understand

Yes i understand have you tried Downgrading to nvid as this restores all drivers and settings to original then try re-applying Hardspl and new ROM ?

Hey thanks alot for your suggestion but is the nvid the no vender windows mobile 5 Rom? that you use to recover your device if so I already flashed back to windows mobile 5 but still did not help thanks but I never tryed Hardspl since you only do it once if u do it more then once will anything bad happen? al try it what u said and let you know what happeneds thanks again you all are a great help
Well I tryed what you said flashed back to WM5 and did the new Hardspl
method then flash back to wm 6.5 and try to turn on my wifi but still

Did you reed/saw this instruction on the CHT Thread?
I'm not sure if it is that, but maybe it can help you.
Q: I get this error message: CHT_Wall.exe OutOfMemoryException
A: You will get this message if the resolution of the image you have set for your wallpaper is too big. Try selecting a smaller resolution - anything below 10MP (around 3000x3000) will be OK.

just install .Net v3.5
ok i already have Net 3.5 installed and the picture that i am trying to select is a small image file.. nothing bigger than 640x480 so its none of those.. any other ideas..?
just reinstall .Net v3.5 it worked for me
