My phone carrier signal is weak where I live and the Galaxy S2 switches to neighboring country on international roaming for any incoming/outgoing calls. How can I restrict to local GSM for voice calls? It was easy in my Windows Mobile HTC to select network but I cannot see how to do it with this phone? All help appreciated...

I'd have thought so, but I cannot find any such option under settings to stop other networks. Only has option for Data Roaming On/Off or Select Preferred Network operator. With preferred network chosen the G S2 still roams internationally whenever the preferred network signal drops out! How to stop is the question? I rather have no network than pay huge international roaming when receiving a call.

I am wondering if someone knows How to set The Network mode to GSM/UMTS?
Navigating the phone tree:
Settings ---> Wireless & Network Settings --> Mobile Networks ---> Network Mode-->
Option Available:
Sprint Only!
Any CDMA!
Any GSM/UMTS
Automatic!
NO matter if I change it or not always when I reboot my phone it goes to CDMA or Automatic but always looks for CDMA.
I am using the photon with UMTS 850mzh so I need to know how to set that by default or how to hold that setting in the phone.
Also I would like to permantly Disable the "Roaming Guards" I am tire of switch off those thing everytime I reset the phone!

Set GSM UMTS
Dial *#*#4636#*#* -> Phone Information and select GSM auto (PRL)
Menu>settings>wireless&networks>mobile networks>roaming guards and clear the appropriate check boxes and that should solve your issue.

Is there a way to block the phone from roaming (not referring to data roaming)? I tried setting it to WCDMA ONLY but it keeps switching back to Auto.
Currently I have:
Roaming Guard - On for Voice, Data and Outgoing SMS
Network mode - CDMA only
Roaming set to Sprint Only
Domestic Voice - On
Domestic Data - On
International Voice - Off
International Data - Off
Are these all the settings I need on to avoid my phone from ever connecting or trying to use data etc while out of the US?
How do I enable?
when i dial *#*#4636#*#* - phone info - VoLTE provisioned - I toggle on
But then it auto toggles off?? What the hell..???
How do I get it to stay or if not how do I enable wifi calling?
I know you can do on skype hangouts etc but I want to just do it normal,
ALso my phone carrier supports so...
