Enlarge menu and title bar - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus ROM Development

Can someone make a cab of touch duals old original "enlarge starmenu and tittle bar"?
I'm need only OLD and ORIGINAL version, because it's make very smooth scrolling in Programms/settings menu. (It gives smooth scrollyng by replacing original programms/settings menu with new one, that running in ram, not xip)
I have tryed do it by myself, but have no luck. For unknown reason, it just don't working
P.S. This only one thing that stops me from using new rom with new radio
P.S.S. If you don't believe or something like that, i can record video

Hehehe, try my ROM, it's smootlhly like original ROM and even better!

I already tryed, your rom is fast, but scrolling in program menu still slow (I usually have a lot programs in it)

Me too but I have no problems at all!
Possibly you have some trash files on your phone? Try to clean it up with SKTools!

Using HTC Touch dialer in new roms

Hi,
This is really directed toward Nocturne.op.15.
I've been trying out the various HTC Touch cabs that are available on the Wizard Mobile 6 forum and they look really nice. Especially the Dialer and Comms manager.
The problem with installing these cabs is that adding all the extra stuff to the windows folder has an effect on performance, so I was wondering if you could possibly consider using the Touch Dialer and Comms Manager as the default in future roms? Or, would it be possible to have a rom without any dialer or comms manager so that we can install our own?
Thanks
pjam
do not afraid ,-)
if performance will persist, all modern things will be inside...
Great! I hoped you would say something like that.
If you could get the Touch home plugin to work without slowing anything down that would be fantastic!
(I realise you're after a clean rom)
Thanks.
home screen plugin will not be used. i have never seen something so slow - even after uninstall, system startup is 2 times slower (something remained there).
the second reason is that this plugin is absolutely, realy absolutely useless. It just consumes precious screen space, memory and cpu. easy one-hand operation is aslo hardly possible with it.
If you like something like this, use spb mobile shell, which has almost no effect to device speed. It has also many more functions, is almost the same size. Latest 1.5 Beta3 is really fast, stable and brings many new functions against v. 1
Final result: i will not include this useless plugin, no discussion about this please. slow your ppc yourself, i will not do it, i'm trying to make it as fast as possible. easiest way to slow ppc down is to underclock it to 95MHz
I will check dialer and comm mananger and inform you later.
Cheers Nocturne,
You are right about the usefulness of the plugin, I just think it looks nice, which is not a good enough reason to have it on the phone, slowing things down
Think I'll have a look at the shell tool.
thanks for your thoughts
pjam
Dialer is great, really easy to handle it i one hand. But i don't like its graphics, used font looks really horrible.
EDIT: no, dialer will also not be used. it has really pleasant size of buttons, but there's one thing i'm missing: hide keypad button. if i want to see more contacts and not to use smartialing (which works), it's impossible. i will work on it - maybe just some registry settings is wrong

I actually really like the font, it's really simple.
There is a contacts soft key available to show more contacts.
I also use a handy programme called QDz photo contacts. You can decide whether or not it shows the photo's, choose surname or first name order, and instead of one long list of names, the list is 2D. Works really well.
DO NOT use Touch dialer
Well, guys I've tried the TOUCH dialer as well. It's really slow (compared to the standard WM6 dialer) but much worse is the fact, that used smartdialing technology prevents me to select contacts with diacritics (crazy czech signs ).
Radek
The more i use this HTC Touch dialer the more i like it.
The smart dialing works really well and makes it easy to select a contact to either call, sms or email. The contacts softkey makes it easy to view more contacts.
There is alot of discussion about this on the wizard forum. There it talk that everything runs faster if the dialer is in the Rom. (I don't know why.)
There is also talk of virtual extended roms, but i don't have a clue about all that.
Once the various apps that i use have been opened and minimised i find this dialer doesn't cause a problem with regard to speed.
Update: Actually, after performing a hard reset I've come to realise just how much this dialer and comm manager were slowing things down. Love the dialer, hate the slow down.

Athena T Moble Pure OG WM6 ROM its GREATT

Hey check it out man
this rom rocks
it has vga resolution for text
and qvga resolution for icons

How about posting some screens for various applications?
right away sir
Thanks for posting the screens.
I guess it's a personal thing, but I prefer to view the device in 128dpi, with wktask, with a 3D glassy top and bottom bar, with both date and time on the taskbar of every screen, just to list some of the main things I would tailor.
Hey, whatever appeal to you, enjoy your device
U can always customize the view and 128dpi can be installed
i'm confused with your screenshots.
are simply qvga, non?

I love changing the color of my theme every now and then. One of the quickest ways of to use tweaks2k2. It gives you the 3d glassy look. Depending on my mood, I like to switch between blue, green, black, etc. Be very careful though when you use tweak2k2. Don't let it trigger any soft reset(always use stylus into the hole method) or else you may be stuck on primary splash and you'll be forced to hard reset.
thanx for the info and warning. i do too. currently running 192dpi, snapvue, and snavue tsk on my rom. will probably go back to setup u see in dual screenies when i get realvga cooked back into rom im currently running.
Does this rom contain the latest Opera? That's the only reason I see to upgrade to this. Font size looks like it does when you change the screen settings to a smaller font on the 'screen' menu. I assume you can change the pink theme with the windows standard.
some clarrification
the opera version is build 8.65(2627)
the rom is overall very fast
the text resolution is vga like and we can get rid of the cuteiii pink colour.
the ap3 dual rom is superior in many aspects but this rom is good for all those who want a clean rom without any addons.
hey powell can u please post a lite addition of your touch dual rom it would be great
perhaps I also forgot to mention that this rom solves the micro drive issue in ameo.
Powell can u please give add ons seperately.
Leoni,
Why not try out this Opera and see if you like it better?

Ok, ive begun testing this ROM Eaglesteve and here are my observations thus far:
Opera is identical to the others, although a nice resolution mod has been done with the url bar, making it smaller and neater than the versions seen in other ROMS. there is no immediate reference to 'opera' within the application in that it is referred to as 'web n walk' in the start menu, and the homepage is www.t-mobilefavourites.co.uk. for those wishing to use t-mobile's tv service this functionality is now restored for wm6.
on the whole i feel that the download and render time with this version of Opera is the slowest i've seen. there is no flash support and this is NOT the latest Opera build (or anywhere near). this indicates that HTC have a limited deal with Opera which does not include the more recent version - no free upgrade then.
I found both browsers to be unusually slow, even after various tweaks.
T-mobile have removed Windows Live from this ROM.
They have included (the completely pointless) F-Secure Antivirus, which annoyingly pops up an installation window upon every soft reset.
The 'H'SDPA icon is not enables by default for some unknown reason. this is surely a step backwards from the old T-Mobile ROM.
t-mobile sounds are preset by default. they are horrendous.
some of the 'band' settings have been removed in line with what's available in western europe.
dialpad is a modified pink|grey, as is the comms screen.
there is a t-mobile home plugin similar to htc's, but with 'web n walk' last dialled, file explorer and SIM manager.
this ROM seems more sluggish than touch dual overall, and is missing a great deal of decent features that id gotten used to with Touch.
will try a hard reset with no installed t-mobile CABs and report back
Thanks for the quick feedback.
You mentioned that the address bar is smaller. This is interesting. Could you post a screen shot on that?

sorry eaglesteve i dont have the screenshot utility that comes with touch, otherwise id send you a screenshot.
update though: this ROM is an absolute dog. it's slooooow, web pages dont load up very fast and for the first time in ages im getting the "this page cannot be found" dialogue in p.i.e. on random occasions. ive also had opera randomly shut down on me twice.
can someone else try this ROM and tell me im not mistaken? the only apps ive installed are wktask, fingertouch and htc home
so far i can't believe t-mobile have unleashed a pile of crap like this on the public. its bad enough that they make their handsets look so rubbish.
one last set of points to t-mobile:
we DONT need antivirus. really.
we DONT need to be asked if we're sure we want to go online/sure we want to close the browser.
we dont like pink today screens and phones with pink bits on them
we DO want you to employ Pawel and the team to develop decent ROMs in future.
Is this ROM the standard WM6 ROM provided by T Mobile to work on the Ameo? The quality is very different from those provided by Dopod.
Just switched back to the Touch Dual ROM.
I encourage anyone Interested in it to avoid this ROM at all costs except for warranty purposes. Glitchy, slow, overbranded, RUBBISH.
YUK.

lol nice.
to the poster asking about vanilla: i could remove everything except pk programs 3.0(task manager+regedit and screenshot app) and leave in tsk, welcomhead, and all the reg edits i have done BUT the available space on the device with or without dual will remain the same.
its not worth it.
use file explorer and go into windows/start menu/programs and removed whatever u dont use. it will clean up the program's folder and u can go ahead and do same with system folder.
it will look clean that way and if u decide u want to use a app that i cooked in you just add shorcut back in. also for battery/qwerty menu just go ahead and remove the shortcuts for those from windows/startup and those are gone.
switch to a different tsk like says windows mobile default and u look vanilla. for say the control panel apps just ignore or remove from windows folder.
Ur rom looks vanilla and it will have same space as a vanilla rom. also u can go ahead after the black tsk is displayed and soft reset device to not install extended rom stuff and reduce apps installed.
@leoni
T Mobile has put its customisations, so if u check opera, the proxy is enabled.
If u remove the proxy all work well.
Results are better, when one flashes only OS.nb converted to NBH and use, so u do not have any T Mobile Crap installed

Themes and TF3D, the hurdles

I've been around the TP forum since almost day one and I am also watching closely the Diamond one. My question (and I put it in the ROM development area for a reason) is as follows:
Why is it so difficult to change themes in TF3D manila?
It is difficult and with issues most of the time and many flaws occure when using any of the programs available by pretty capable guys around here (eg. diamond config, manila customiser, cabs etc.)
Please don't get me wrong, these programs DO WORK, but WITH FLAWS. I tried many themes and ways and I find problems most of the time. One problem for example would be speed in people tab, in NATF 1.1 ROM, att people tab is as fast as hell, but try to change the theme and you will get the shock of your life in the time it takes to open that tab. The same (even worse) would be said for RomeOs 1.40.
Why can't we just do: start>settings>today>themes and choose the theme (which should be there by the way but never is) >items>tf3d only
I know that the themes tab is for the whole interface of windows, but why is there no link between themes and tf3d, a real and correlative link i.e. one would change the other?
Sorry for the long story but would any one be interested to discuss that??
- i dont quiet understand what the issue you seem to comming across using the TF3D Customizer, if u could be a bit more specific i could possibly help..
BUT from the jump i did notice that..it was made known not to use on the 1.93 rom, is that an issue here?
i flashed NATF's rom and all seems to be working just fine. Themes take about 1-2 mins to fully load..then i get the soft reset prompt and BAM..new theme loaded
- honestly..i think using manilla on these devices which are TF3D .. makes no sense, i could be 100% wrong..but it seems like a step backwards.
i was involved with the release of TF2D and i can honestly say TF3D is better..and no not the throttle launcher version either..no knock there..just doesnt compete with the real thing.
The thing is, whenever you temper with the original (ROM TF3D) in any way, and that I noticed in all my instances and in all the roms I used, you always get a different, primary lousier responce in the performance.
about 1.93, no that was not the issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong in these:
1- tf3d is a user interface created by htc to be used on wm6.1 touch flow devices
2- this created 2 kinds of themes:
a- windows theme for the original interface
b- tf3d themes only
3- link between the 2 does not exist, or is to be made manually i.e. change wm theme & tf3d theme
4- when you change tf3d theme you almost always fall into flaws (and not to mention trying to add tabs which is another story altogether), interface flaws and performance flaws
5- no theme exists that combine both worlds in one and that you can use from the normal windows themes tab in settings (except the original shipped one in the rom of course)
1. correct.. pretty obvious there
2a. this 2nd theme u speak of.. the .tsk file, is a simple layout..like a "background so to speak, to add a bit of flare to plain. if u opted out in using TF and and just went with the today screen add-on's.
2b. well if its TF3D then i would presume u would make themes that are TF3D compat. ? call me crazy lol
3. if you want to be technical, there is a link..when u access ur start menu..while in TF3D..ur accessing theme 1 and 2. hence a link being created.
4. on an ORIGINAL STOCK ROM..of course your going to run into issues. Its made by service providers to do just that provide service, not get ur optimal performance..hence why apps such as Kaiser Tweaks, and Advance Config were created..to get that optimal performance.
on another persons created rom..the issues u generally run into will be short lived, considering they too..are tryin to edit out the bugs that u would normally run into.
once again..i really dont know where or how ur running into that TF3D theme issue..i just cycled thru 5 diffrent themes, with no issues to report.
5. u lost me
just a fast Q; Where to place the .theme files?
steps plz for the noobie.
- And do i have to use Diamond TF3D Config, or just from the setting?
Thnx!

@JStar:
Have you found any flip clocks that work?
One other issue I'm waiting to see figured out is the background image changing on all TF3D tabs, not just the home tab. There has been some progress on the Diamond forum, but I understand there are still issues there..

Thanks for the heads up, I'll bounce over there and check it out!
really dont have to go so far.. theres a few themes here that have flip clocks ive found on here already..
check out these links..

2. TF3D Clocks ( in that forum ) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420887
good luck!
Yeah been thru those posts quite a bit. Tried a cpl themes that looked great but the flip clocks never told the time. They just sat on "000".
The slider icons and stuff worked great though
any news yet..for u
i was just browsing thru and theres been a few reports in those threads about working flip clocks.
I still believe that this tf3d themes issue is not purely resolved by the developers. I'm trying to have a smooth theme transition (i.e. change from theme to another) but am failing most of the time. Each and every (and I mean it) theme has at least one flaw that render the theme lame, sometime in the interface and some time in the performance. Am I the only alien around here???? Do I really miss something????

rom... u name it cause i tried them all (literally)
using manilla editor & tf3d diamond config
for that advanced config 3.3
ok so start from skratch..reflash the original rom, then go from there.
-use the hardspl provided in this forum.
-then flash NATF's rom ( i use that one with no issues to report..may be flashing again tonight tho, if that TIR ROM is ready. )
after your flash of the ROM HARD RESET, i know ur probably thinkin i know all this..but alot of the times ppl skip that step and it helps..trust it does!
-install NET CF 3.5
-install Diamond Tweak
-install Diamond TF3D Config
u dont need advanced config if ur using Diamond Tweak.
then we'll get a theme and go from there.

This is a copy and paste from my blog on thoughts on this rom and 6.5.
http://www.blakemitchellweb.com/blog/?p=31
I use an HTC Touch Pro and recently installed a custom rom running Windows Mobile 6.5. This particular rom was made by Jakdillard and posted at XDA devs. I am not sure about too much of the information as to what parts are used from 6.5 and 6.1. First off I will say that I installed and let customization run first. This had TF3D install and I wanted to get more of a feel for sliding panels. When I disabled TF3D and reenabled Titanium (Thiis the name for sliding panels) it never launched. I thought that there may have been a problem so I did a clear storage. Installation went on again and I did a soft reset during customization. Upon doing this it started back like I had done a clear storage again. This time I let customization run again, did the disable of TF3D and reenabling of Titanium and once again nothing happened but after doing a soft reset titanium was up.
So the performance is pretty wretched. It lags a lot but it is usable. I was able to perform a phone call, get on the internet using the new version of IE, set up google sync in activesync and synced my calendar and contacts, installed and set up funambol for push email, installed amaze gps and was able to get a lock, use wifi, and browsed through pretty much everything. I installed Diamond Tweak and enable some of the tweaks that improve performance but did not see any improvement. When I had IE open my memory was at 85% and it dropped to 37% when I closed it so it is a bit of a memory hog.The new menus are pretty nice and do improve the finger friendliness of the ROM.I like the transparent softkeys and start bar visually, and I like the new honeycomb start menu, although I think it could have been more visually stimulating. Also, We are able to edit the icons that we use on the start bar like we could before and it does not do anything to mess up the new transparent start bar. I installed this cab by tsowen from ppcgeeks and it looks good.
Sliding panels seems pretty nice but there is also a but of a let down. Many people will prefer TF3D or one of the other plethora of shells that can be used on the today screen. Like many of the others shells and today plugins you can't use any other today plugins with this one. I like the look of the sliding panels but the let down comes from the lack of customization straight out of the box. If I could change it I would have sliding panels have each individual setting able to be disabled (i.e. I do not use text messaging because I use email. I would do away with the SMS panel.) Also it is missing some features that are getting integrated into other options. If sliding panels had the ability for developers to develop plugins to cover some of the other areas it would be phenomenal. It is missing some things like weather, rss, im, facebook, and stocks.
I am going to keep running this ROM for another day at least to get a little more familiar. Hopefully I will get a chance to make some screenshots, install second today and see how they play together.

no Problem you can find more updates for this over and www.ppcgeeks.com that is where I generally post
Yeah, I post there more often than here, but had not noticed that it was there until seeing it here and going there to look for it. I thought it was strange that it was here and not there and once I got there I realized you had it in that thread but it did not say 6.5 in the first post (or I overlooked it.) Anyway, I will keep a close eye on that thread.
This a good rom pretty pretty sexy lol ummm i understand its extreme beta an its good i hope yall guys keep doing it up an making it right...yall guys should work for microsoft an htc lol
I have been using Da_g's 6.5 beta 8 for almost a week now and LOVE it. I made the modification to the cpr files to make Titanium a little smoother and more responsive. But the only issues I am left with is when switching from portrait to landscape my phone messes up the image on my homescreen. It clips it and warps it a little. I can fix it by disabling and re enabling titanium or a soft reset.
It always comes back though - does this rom do that?
Also when using RSS hub sometimes the device hangs for up to a minute. On this 6.5. I did not have this on NATF's 4.3 before.
Any help would be appreciated!

Very Happy with it.
Except for memory and slight performance tweaking this build has been working great for me on my sprint touch pro.
Thanks to jakdillard and others who developed this.
Some screen grabs would rock my world. TIA

Perfomance is good, Touchflo is slow but that's a normality with .5 till a new version comes out.. other than that this is a nice ROM compared to others
stuck on align screen config page
after install kitchen rom, i am stuck on the align screen page. i tap on the + but it does not register. random circular motions cause it to advance to next location of + but it just repeats.
suggestions?
EDIT-
problem on my device is not limited to this rom:

edit-
a couple of hard resets later and it seems to be working. weird quirk?
In any case, great rom.
Universal CDMA, Sprint, or Verizon?
I haven't seen anything posted saying this is carrier specific. Or what radio is compatible with it.
Can someone elaborate on that?

[Q] Homescreen Modifications via Registry (no CHT))

Hi everyone,
I'd like to do the following two things: 1st, remove the quicklinks on the (stock) homescreen on my HD2. To be more precise, those three I see by default when looking at the homescreen. The 3x3 block I get by scrolling down can stay.
2nd, I'd like to expand the appointments the calendar shows (which is the main reason for removing the quick links).
I know this can be perfectly done with CHT, since I used it all the time before. But CHT was also the reason for every single hardreset I've done, so I decided to stay as close to stock as possible (hence the Energy Standard ROM) and look into android in the upcoming weeks.
Is it possible to realize my request via 'simple' registry tweaks - or any other means but installing a full homescreen mod?
i don't know of any registry tweaks to do this....never really even seen it discussed.
have you tried energy's older roms with cht 1.8.5? i am using it and it is rock solid.
Ironically, most of the crashes on my HD2 occurred while using CHT 1.8.0 and 1.8.5 (manual installation on stock rom and an energy rom with cht included, respectively). I didn't use version 1.7.x for too long, but at least I had no problems with it back then.
I guess this really is one hell of a question I got here.
Alternatively, is there a way to change the icons of the quicklinks to some with a higher resolution? That'd at least make it visually more attractive.

download JWMD icon changer.......
then you can use any icons you want......
Id seriously look into CHT if I was you....
Even though 2.0 is still in beta its been rock solid for me (and most people)......
ive heard it runs really well installed on the energy reference series.....
Thanks for your quick reply. I guess that'll do for now.
As I already said, CHT is out of the question for me. It is an awesome tool, no second thought here. But you said it yourself: its rock solid "for most people".
I'll stay with my current energy rom and the standard interface and mess around with some android builds for now. This way I always have a stable WinMo installation I can fall back to in case a Android build does not suite my taste.
Anyway, thanks for your help and your concern
