Hi.. a have got hermes from my friend.. he tried to upgrade it, but he got No GSM error... i tried it upgrade again, but i can upgrade on os.. not radio.. when i try flash only radio, i got Error 262... i tried mtty too, but with no success.. so i tried flash via sd card.. but if i do format to fat32 (i was trying fat16 too), my htc does't recognise HERMIMG file... i have decided to have it as a pda, but hermes freezes after around 10-15 minutes, and i have to do soft reset... and it is problem with any rom.. any idea how to fix both problems? i have no idea right now:-/
SPL 2.11Oli
SD card has to be less than 2Gb, formatted FAT32 and MUST be hermimg.nbh, no mistakes. You need Hard SPL V7 (SPL - 2.10oli) to use sd card method.
Try running the shipped stock rom as this may recover the radio, if it doesn't then you should be able to use as a PDA, just remember that hitting the answer/hang-up keys may freeze the Hermes.
Cheers...
hi, thanks for reply.. i have 2GB sd card (not sdhc), and i have it formatted to FAT32 with hermimg.nbh file (i check it 1000times i think..) have do hardspl, so i have SPL 2.10oli, but it wasn't working, i was trying it many many times.. okey, i try stock rom (if i can find it somewhere - i was looking for it but without success.. ), and then we will see... but in my post, i mean that my hermes freezes every time, if i hit these keys, of if i don't, it always freezes after 15 mins cca...
i try stock rom, it freezes on 11% and it stopped... error 262 again.. i have no idea:-/
sounds like your radio rom is completely screwed... Use Rom Koch to pull the radio rom out of the stock rom, then flash the stock rom again to correct stability issues. THEN flash cooked rom. This may fix the freezing/HR problem though you won't be able to use as a phone.
Cheers...
hi,.. i try only os from original rom... nothing is better... may it be a hardware error that it freezes for some time?
i try install via sd now, works.. but radio rom freezes at 1/4 may be, and that was finnish...:-/

Hi guys, i have little/big problem. I have bricked hermes, SPL 2.03, before with no radio message... when i try to flash some rom, it stucks and restart at 1%, when i try sd card flash, i get red 00062008 error, or 00028002 error. when i was trying official shipped rom, it seems good, until it was flashing radio part, then it stucks... so.. is possible to help? and, is possible to find some shipped rom without radio? KITL is not supported by the phone now... any solution please? even it i can use it as a pda only... thanks very much for quick replies
Do a search on here for a program called Rom Koch. You can pull the radio out of your stock rom. Then reflash and use as a PDA.
Cheers...
Yes, i tried it before, but without success, because if i modify original rom this way, herm doesn't recognize it as a stock rom, but as a cooked rom (even if i set the same cid as stock rom), and i get red error again... this does't work..
Hey guys...Heres a quick run down of whats happened:
Was upgrading to a new version of a custom ROM using SD method like i normally do. Process stuck at the very end forever (hours), so i soft reset. Now phone won't boot past the splash screen, just hangs there.
I have attempted the method "Phone bricked when writing to the Extended ROM" here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems#error
But my problem is I cant use mtty because i have SPL 2.03.
How am I able to downgrade my SPL to 1.04 if I can't boot?
Or any ideas as to how i can get passed this an start clean altogether?
(I have already tried hard reset, no go)
Re-install the ROM using sd card method. If you think it could be a corrupt ROM image file, use a different ROM.
Might Work for you.
I had almost the same thing happen to my phone not but two days ago.
The problem I experience with SPL 2.03 after it bricked was that any new or custom Roms i tried flashing to my phone would error out before even starting the process.
What I did, and it worked for me, was to flash over the oldest original shipped Rom for my carrier. You can find it here.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
Load the Rom to your SD card and enter the bootloader. If your lucky it will start the process and finish.
Then as soon as its done, before putting a different Rom on there, use Hard-SPL. Here's the link and walk through for it.

Let me know if it works out for ya.
Hello all!
I am in desperate need of some help from you all, and the great rom chefs here.
What exactly happened:
From past 2-3 roms (pandora 1.0, 1.1, PDAVIET-v6,v7) i have been having regular MANILA freezes. it would freeze within 12 hours of flashing, and in the last 2 flashes, it froze within 1 hour, without me installing anything.
Titanium worked fine. untill that started hanging too.
So i tried reflashing the 1.6 official rom, thinking that might clear up some bugs as its the official rom.
while trying to flash it (from my sd card directly) it gave up an error - Invalid DEVICE.
I restarted and went into bootloader again, and then i started getting this error :
UPGRADE ROM CODE ERROR
PLEASE TRY AGAIN
Now i have tried reflashing from the computer, and also from the sd card directly, 1.6 official , pandora 1.1, pdaviet v7, but to no success.
All the time it still gets stuck on that screen.
I have tried hspl'ing it again, it was successful - the hspl procedure, but then still no rom loads onto it.
Even tried using the sspl, but still nothing happens. With SSPL, it shows flashing as 0%, and stays there forever!
PLEASE HELP guys!
in a real bad situation!
Thanks!
so what is the device status currently?
can u boot into a main manilla or titanium screen?
Can you get to bootloader? Were you flahsing ROMs using SSPL or HSPL?
hi..
i dont know if this might work, try to get stock rom, xxx.exe, rename xxx.exe to xxx.rar and unpack it. you should see RUU_signed.nbh and rename to leoimg.nbh. put leoimg.nbh in the root of your sd card. and flash use vol down+power button.
oh, there was a mistake!
When you firstly flashed your device with 1.6 official from sd card, this removed hspl and the device checked your rom's region id. I guess you have used offical roms from other areas. So the process stopped when the device checked the cid.
At this stage, you should find out the offical rom from your area, and re-flash it from sd card, then everything will be fine.
But you didn't, you tried re-hspl and sspl...and i don't know what the consequence will be.
So? Did you get it fixed mate?
Any update? if you haven't fixed it yet PM me.
If it is de wrong region rom you tried to flash do you might need to flash it with a goldcard?
hope you got it sorted
Just flash your original rom using htc ruu will do. been there, done that
yeah flash the 142 or 148 rom that is appropriate for your device.. and use teh exe/ruu that came with it rather than sdcard.
what's the betting you needed the goldcard to flash 161? which is why you're having issues trying to reflash it ?
HSPL
Hi,
You could try this,
1) flash HSPL first.
2) flash the stockrom one more time from storage card.
This will erase hardspl so if you want to flash custom roms again you need to flash HSPL one more time after you flashed the stockrom.
Succes,
Leo
I have the same problem and I need the official 1.42 rom... do u know where I can find it?

Your Leo was probably locked on your operator
at this point You've got to flash HTC official ROM with a Golcard.
Or your operator's rom directly from bootloader.
yep. I'm actually trying to get a gold card...
I've tried to create a gold card and hard reset but the setup fail

Did you try flashing thru boatloader official Rom (from your region) ?
I tried to install the latest HTC official rom but the setup stops at 9%
"Error [290]: invalid command"
It seems a problem of Radio... not rom...

You have to flash 1.43 of your Region thru boatloader. If boatloader does not work thru goldcard.
I tried with italian 1.43 official rom also but the setup keeps stopping... Tried also using a goldcard, created using qmat
Hello there,
I bought my HTC HD2 two weeks ago, and when I received it, it had a ROM of a 3.14 Version with a Radio of 2.15.50
(RUU_Leo_S_HTC_GER_3.14.407.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship). The previous buyer told me he had Android Running on SD Card.
When I started "playing" with the phone, I got a lot of Screen Freezes during any app (Internet, Mail, Facebook). Not only did the screen frooze, but also did the no longer start up properly. Either it didnt hang during the Logo, or when entering the PIN. Even during Hardware resets it frooze sometimes.
As the described ROM from above not the "real" supported ROM for THAT HD2 is, I flashed the original 1.72 Version with a Radio of 2.07.51 (RUU_Leo_TMO_DE_1.72.111.4_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship downloaded directly from HTC.com).
I thought, maybe its the ROMs problem. However, now I face the same problems and start to think the problems are hardware related. Am I correct there, or do you guys have any other thoughts?
Could be hardware related indeed.
Did you try to run your device without SD card?
Sometimes, older SIM cards can also cause trouble.
And finally, what SPL is on your device now? You can check this information in the bootloader screen.

I have a SPL-2.08.0000 (not HSPL). I run it without the SD Card aswell, but i got the same issues. Since I still have warranty on the phone, do u think I should make use of it and send it in? but then I want to make sure, that there are no traces on my phone that I installed some Android NAND versions...

Well, you do have the older T-Mob ROM, combined with a newer SPL.
Try to flash SPL 1.66 with the program HSPL2.exe before sending it anywhere, then make a hard reset. Re-try again with the SD card out, in the worst case, there might be some buggy data in the application data folder (if there is one).

Thank you. with the SPL 1.66 Windows is running smooth again. But what caused all the crashes in the 3.14 version with SPL 2.08 or in Android NAND Versions with 2.08.HSPL ?? I think if I send my phone in for warranty, they tell me everything is fine with the phone....

The official 3.14 ROM shouldn´t run with any other SPL than 3.03.
NAND ROMs require MAGLDR, and this, on the other hand, requires HSPL 2.08. If there was still a different SPL on your device (which should be checked by the tool, as far as I remember, and therefore, I don´t know if that´s possible), you might have to source of problems.
The 2 major sources of problems are a) a wrong Radio ROM or b) a corrupt SD card, in some rarer cases an older SIM card.
If your system and device are running properly now, I think it might be indeed a waste of time to send it to a service center. If you like, it might be worth to give another try with a proper installation: Put HSPL 2.08 on your device, then Radio ROM 2.15.50.04, then MAGLDR 1.13, and then a nice Android NAND build.
No need to ever boot into Windows once you start all that flashing stuff.

I gave it a try, but for some reason I am unable to flash any rom anymore. I tried to flash it via SD card and via the .exe file through the bootloader. Through the .exe file the process only proceeded until 8 or 10% and aborted. Through the SD-Card it only showed the grew screen for a few seconds and returns to bootloader with "Upgrade ROM code error Please try again"
Apperantly I did something wrong, but I dont know what. Ytd I was still able to flash the original stock windows 1.72 rom from sd card, but even that one is not working anymore.

I also tried installing only the radio rom, but that fails somehow as well. I flashed Radio Rom
Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
Leo_RADIO_2.14.50.02
Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2
which i found in this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
they flash to 100% but then I get a message on the phone "Software update failed. Please try again" and the computer says "This Update cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your update Utility.
anyone has any idea?
i dont know what to do anymore, the only flashing that works is hspl. i dont want to try magdlr, since the rom before hat a .51 radio, but i cant flash roms or radios....
i need some help, please.
If you tried everything, and only the official 1.72 ROM runs properly, the last remaining tip would be task 29. But I´m afraid, now that we can exclude almost everything, that the service center might be a good idea.
I would re-flash the latest ROM, which doesn´t perform well as you write, and send the device in to get it fixed.

what is task 29? I havent heard about it till yet? I will give it a try. Currently I'm trying all combinaitions to at least get 1.72 to get flashed again. This one isnt flashing either right now.
big news:
I have no idea why it worked but it did.
After flashing the entire night with different methods and ROMs and Radios, I almost gave up, and thought my phone is bricked. However, i didnt touch it at all until this afternoon.
First I run HSPL.2.08 again,
then I tried to flash the Stock ROM via SD didn't work.
then I tried to flash the Stock ROM via USB: here it used to stop at 10% and gave me an error.... this time it stopped at 10% for like 30sec and then continued!!!
So now I put SPL.1.66.0000 again to have it in original condition. Can I send it in under warranty like this? Every trace has been removed, correct?
I still don't know what is wrong with the phone. 48h ago, when nothing worked, the only flashing method which did work was via SD. Then I was at branded T-mobile Windows 6.5 on a 1.72 ROM. (Basically exactly where I am now) However, THEN I tried to flash to a higher ROM (3.14) to have a radio of .50 (to flash MAGDLR etc). but this never succedded and I ended up with one flash error after the other.
For a moment I thought my Radio is broken, since I could not flash any Radio. However all the radios i tried to flash were .50 radios. The radio of the current 1.72 ROM is however a .51 version. Does that mean I have some sort of "Radio-Lock" on my phone?
If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know, but I think I dont wanna flash anything until I get the device back from HTC. However, once it get it back, how do I know that I can flash to the higher ROM again?? I am very cautious and distrustful to my phone right now.

Have you also tried doing a Task29 first?
Which software have you tried to flash ROMs? Also LeoAdvancedRUU.exe or do you use SD card method only?
Have you tried another USB cable?
Have you tried another SD card (<=2GB)?
Have you tried to download the ROM file again?
Many questions, I know, but maybe also a solution.
chill it in teh fridge for half an hour then try flash your stock rom from sd card, if that works, you may have overheating problems.
if nothing works, remove HSPL and flash a stock ROM via USB or SD card, whichever suitable.
