I think you didn't read or you didn't understand. Android on Nike is still in developemend. There is no stable Version at this time. At the moment you have to press the Power Button all time long, if you release the Power button and start any action in Android the system crashes.

I would like to upgrade my device to the best & latest version suited for it.
Whilst experienced with computers in general, the whole area of rom's extended rom's, cooked rom's and radio stacks is new to me.
Can someone make a recommendation as to which rom I need, where I can find it, and exactly how to go about the upgrade. Also I would be very grateful I you could tell me what tools I will need.

the file is commpressed in a rar format and you will need "winrar" a great commpression program for free http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
inorder to install wm2005 on to your ppc you need to sync your ppc with your computer and then run the file called:"HimaUpgradeUt.exe"
this program should autodetect your device and upgrade its rom. after the rom upgrade you need to hard reste your device, that is a little diffrent in wm2005:
you need to hold down power+camera+record buttons and press the reset button then let go, a menu should pop up, then go down to the last one and select yes (this can be done using the camera and the record buttons) after that press the scroll button hard and it should reset your device but before you connect your ppc to your computer you need to install activesync 4.0 because it has the driver for the new wm2005, after thats all done you should be set to explore all of the new rom and activesync!
There are some things I have to tell you about first:
this rom is in its alpha stage, but it is the most stable rom in alpha stage i have seen
also i have to tell you that sms ans mms are not there but you can still receive them, we are working on getting the mms and sms functions in the new rom
I recomend that you atleast try this new rom, if you don't like it you can always go back to you old one or 2003se, who knows you might love it and stay with this new rom (i did)

I have spent a lot of hours configuring and make it all work together and I have read wm2005 is slower and unstable...
Destroyer you have recomended to install it... For me, the only reason is to use in better conditions the BT stack (now, after upgrading ROM, EXT-ROM adn RADIO I got a non usable BT situation, that force me a hard reset and re-install all the programs again to become at the start point situation.
Do I get this improved BT functonallity: BT-Phone and system Audio, BT-Sync, BT-Ethernet access?

Thanks for that, I appreciate the response, and will download wm2005, i'll try wm2005 once I get a non essential unit to try it on. In the meantime, I'll be looking for advice & instructions on the best wm2003 se upgrade for my unit, what I need to consider etc etc.

I tried installing wm2003se yesterday. It wasn't too painful, and the UI looked a bit nicer, but there were two problems which I faced. Fisrstly, phone calls would default to the speaker phone whenever you made or answered them. Secondly, when putting it on standby, you couldn't wake the device from standby. A soft reset was required to get the device usable again.
I followed this thread here (gave up after reading about 20 pages of it). But it appears that I wasn't the only one who had those problems. I don't think they got as far as a solution either.

I had tried an upgrade about 2 months ago which went onto my device ok, but some auto script in config file, kept popping up a dialog box, which I couldn't close, so I couldn't move to other functions!

When I tryed the upgrade, I didnt change the extended ROM, so when it went through installing everything, it all came up with "This program may not display properly...", which isn't a problem in itself. The problem comes from not being able to press the button to close the dialog, but you can press on the nav key, which works a treat. (The reason for this is in the config.txt file in the extended ROM, which tells the phone what order to run things, such as installing cab's, after a hard reset. A file called TPdisable.exe is run before installing everying else, which disables the touch pad.)
There are 2 options when upgrading from that link in the forum. One was posted by DC, and all you have to do is unzip it and run the upgrade exec (while ya phone is in the cradle). The other was posted by a mistery person, which is an exe installer.
DC's does not include an extended ROM (all the other apps that get installed with windows, like camera drivers), so using that will just use your existing exteneded ROM. The mistery mans file does have an extended rom included, however, I didnt use it, so I don't know if it's any good.
IMO, I would go with the mystery mans installer. His/hers is a slightly newer build of WM2003SE, and the extended ROM should work.
Before you do that though, it's worth getting hold of the existing ROM for your phone, so you can go back if you decide that you don't like it (as I did). You can download that from here, assuming that you have an XDA II and are on o2 uk, which your details would seem to suggest.
If you do it, let us know how it works out. I wouldn't mind maybe trying again, but as soon as I finish my dissertation, and have time to make a proper effort at my own custom extended ROM.

Hard SPL your phone first before proceeding.
Don't let your battery to discharge completely, if it happens, connect the charger (red led appears), take out the battery (with the charger still connected, red led remains on), put the battery back (orange led appears) and then fast turn the phone on and enter bootloader mode because there the phone is charging even that no led is on.

HOWTO Installation process.

1. Download Nikeimg.7z, archive contain 2 images, for 20 or 16 keys keyboard.
2. Flash it like usual firmware, which means:
2.2 From the SDcard:rename file NIKEIMG16K(20K).nbh to NIKEIMG.nbh and put it to the root of SD card. Make folder named "andboot" in the root of your SD card and put there android build itself, which usually named "androidinstall.tar",if not, rename it. My recommendation is this one, from my friend hrustile : http://www.multiupload.com/OYW85PFMH1. No need to format SD card or remove any files. Turn off your phone and reboot to bootoader mode (e.g. hold CAMERA and POWER buttons) Then phone will detect itself that there is a firmware is on your SD card and will ask your to press POWER button, so press it. Flashing takes about 20 seconds, after it's over pull the battery or press reset.
2.3 From the PC: same procedure exept no need to put NIKEIMG.NBH on the SD card. You need to put it to the folder with flasher on the PC. The rest same as SD card flashing.
But it's not all!!!
3. Turn device on and wait until i says "Hold down Volume Up or DPad Center to launch installer" press and hold central button, you'll see installer menu. If you missed yo press button- reset and press it directly after seeing some output on the screen.
Choose Data & Sys on "(*) NAND" and press Install android, then answer yes twice. Now installation process is started, wait for a minute or so.
4 And at last after installation is over press Quit, first boot takes some time so be patient. Then enjoy your Android.

I try this last night, and it looks great and smooth, but I have a problem for it.
Mine is Niki100, the screen touch function seems not working properly. I can't finished unlocking the phone, the screen froze after I slide it from left to right.
Anything I can try?
Looks strange for me, if problem is in locked screen only you can unlock it with double pressing of camera button. Then, if screen is still frezed, long press on POWER and then the RED PHONE, sometimes helps. Anyway, the work is very far from over, so i hope there will be a lot of improovments, this build i put here only to show that there is a hope, because all the previos threeds ended so hopeless.

I don't think it's possible to fix a kernel for a specific radio, but it will be very useful for me, if everyone who tests my build will post the issues wich he will have for sure and the radio version, so i can find the problems, caused by radio and the problems, caused by kernel.

It seems when I long-pressed the icon (want to delete home screen shortcut), the screen touch works no more. Sometimes It randomly happened when I press several time short-pressed. Other than that, the phone function works fine, and 3g connection is fine too.

How to install ? Its only androidinstall.tar and ZIMAGE. There is no default.txt and Haret and initr.gz, I download this package but still dont know how tu run it. Maybe someone can explain me, my device is HTC touch dual NIKKI 20 keys
It works from NAND, wich means your windows mobile will be gone. So you need to be very sure what are you doing before do something.
So if you still want to flash android, you need to put NIKEIMG.nbh on the rootof sd card,
androidinstall.tar and androidupdate.tgz to /andboot/ folder.
Turn off the device, hold CAMERA and POWER buttons, until you get to bootloader, then press power again.
Now press reset or pull battery off, then power on your phone. After splash screens you will see some fast running output, when you see something like "Hold center or volume up button to install" you need to hold center button. All the other stuff is like usual HARET installation, exept you need to put systrm and data on NAND in installer. After install complete, you need to install update before exit.

I have a unlocked AT&T Motorola Backflip (I know its old) and have been trying to install Android 2.3.7 CyanogenMod7. I go through making a recovery image and use Superuser to do a Wipe All. I then flash from the SDcard the zipped file. Everything appears to work fine. After the reboot the phone comes up in the Home page where I can see the apps ect. The issue is that when the phone goes to sleep or restarts I am at the initial power up screen ( where you would select phone, home or return). It is at this point that the home button fails to do anything. I get a short vibration indicating that the phone recognizes I have pushed the button but nothing else happens. When I restore the recovery image everything works fine.
It appears that the link between the home button and the location of the home page is missing.
I would really appreciate expert advice on how to proceed.

Talking in brief about special highlight of this device, it features a 5.5 inch screen, 1.4 GHz MTK 6592M Octa core processor, 3200mAH battery which lasts for minimum 1.5 days even with heavy use of Wi-Fi for 8 hours Secondly even Alcatel engineers have done awesome work by working so much behind update the stock android and making it so beautiful
Coming to point as I have own personally this device and looking at user reviews few users faced some of the issue one of which even i came across. So if you are one among those users than follow my below tips: -
1. Network Hanging/Stuck Issue: - For users, who came across Network hanging issue which happens specially when you are roaming with this device as i have personally witnessed the sole reason for this is Google Apps update. Their is no reason to blame alcatel for this. MY testing till now has revealed that This is caused specially by Google Play services and Google Apps update that happens automatically if you are on Wi-Fi network.
To get rid of this: - First of all don't update any of your google apps until the bugs in current one are fixed. Go to Play store> Settings and disable Auto upate apps over WiFi so that it won't update automatically. This resolves the issue and you can use other older version of google apps also like gmail, youtube which came preloaded with your phone.
2. Camera giving only 9.4Mega pixel Images: - I see by default the images clicked by this device is of 9.4 Mega pixel only. This happens because of the full screen mode being ON in camera. To resolve this> Open Camera app> click on setting icon> Full screen is highlighted by default just touch it to remove full screen mode. Congrats now your camera will click 13 Mega pixel images
3. Hard resetting your phone: - For users who wish to Hard reset there Alcatel One touch flash device do these things:
a. Power off your phone
b. Press and hold Power + Volume down button together until you see Android recovery screen. (Note: you need to hold these two buttons together until you come to recovery screen might take 20 seconds)
c. Now select "wipe cache"
d. Now select "Factory reset"
e. Now let the device reset your phone it will take some time around 1 minute
f. Now next time you power on it will stay at Alcatel boot image after sometime hold power button again to switch off
g. now hold power button and Congrats now your phone is resetted successfully
I haven't come across any other issue apart from these. Users who come across any other issue share in this forum I will assist in resolving the bugs, if any For those need screen shots to know the procedure let me know i will update screenshots of procedure in my next post.
People who wish to root their device a atip from my side is to wait for sometime until Alcatel officially provides stock image in their android upgrade firmware and only than try rooting as if at this stage if you screw up your device than it would be difficult to get the stock image and restore your phone.

Hello everybody!
I need assisstance from you all. I have an old mobile phone, Huawei U8110, and it is my only phone that I can use for now (long story short - lack of resources left me with this phone only, and I need to fix it, but I have some issues with the software).
I've updated the phone software from eclaire to cyanogen mod 7, android version 2.3.5., the mod version is CyanogenMod 7.1.0.-2.3.5.-U8110-COCO, build number COCO CM7.
But now it cant start in safe mode (the startup sceen that you can usually activate with button combination, where you can select boot options is always unavailable).
Phone is working somewhat ok (i cant use any radio, and my camera is dead), but the basic functions are running ok.
The thing is that I cant revert to any old system, and I cant update to a new one.
Is there any new system that is worth upgrading to, and is there a solution for the problem of accesing the startup sceen (that was available before, but now it isnt).
