I just got me a new I-Mate And upgraded to the new ROM I-mate 1.72
The problem is as everyone have noticed already is with the cleartype fonts and that the device keeps on Hard resetting randomly.
So I wonder if theres a way to revert back to an old ROM version to get rid of all problems?

I did not have any problem during the downgrading process (Tmobile 1.70 > O2 Asia 1.60), so could you please tell me exactly what you have done? Thanks

Same thing here. Bootloader 1.06 and no ability to downgrade to 1.60 ROM. But I am very happy with 1.72 i-MATE ROM and ClearType fix

just connect your PDA to the cardle and upgrade to either ROM 1.66 or 1.72 in your bootloader mode

What ROM(WM6) are you using?
I'm tried HTC.Wizard.Faria.WWE.CE.v5.2.318.AKU4.0.0.01.WM6.Rom.Upgrade (http://ppcwarez.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21608) which caused all my problems.
Then I installed X-Plore 2.0 WM6 (http://ppcwarez.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21608). This one works fine, but I notice my Qtek very slow, even oveclocked, so I reinstalled WM5 (Wizard Love).
I can´t install any ROM on my 9100, I flash the 9100 and then it stays the same, I´ve try 4 or 5 ROM, then i test Underground_edition_Crossbow_ROM, and it was the end of it....
I think i´ll stay with my old WM5....
I think WM5 is the best option. Even I've seen some interesting things in WM6, it runs very slow on my A9100, so I'll keep WM5 for now.

This must be some kind of a joke, I tried flashing this ROM and my host computer REBOOTED during the flash update, while it was on 59%
Why would my computer reboot? I have UPS power, a stable system Windows XP Professional installed, I closed all other applications including Anti-virus software.
Either I'm extremely unlucky (could happen...), or the italian program that came with that ROM purposely bricked my wizard by rebooting or executing some invalid instruction.

Has anyone tested if any of these ROMs flash properly.. for me it would be the Dutchversion then... But I can not test right now can not have my phone broken down. Once Kaizer is out I am going to buy that one and then I could test, but would be nice to know if these dumped ROMs work
Unfortunately I do not know, I haven't even tested the UK version as I am not sure if it will work, however I did update the RUU.
Shame we cannot emulate the firmware install!
The T-Mob UK dumped ROM isn't quite right - the w'n'w home page doesn't work properly.

Well, after flashing the ROM i dumped the other day, I had exactly the same thing with IE.
It took me about 3 seconds to realise it must be because the extROM had been flashed by one of the WM6 ROMs I had been using in the past.
As it turns out, this is the case so I can confirm that if you have the same issue, download the extROM dumo from the wiki (from this page) and delete the current contents of your extROM and copy the downloaded one back to it. Hard reset, and voila - everything back the way T-Mobile shipped (apart from Radio ROM, IPL\SPL etc...) but WTH ;-)

I assume you mean how can you put the correct Extended ROM onto your device? If I understand this correctly, the ROMs mentioned in Jygar's first post are the original main ROM but the Extended ROM is in fact from a Windows Mobile 6 ROM (I do not believe that flashing a ROM will affect the Extended ROM - the problem is that the re-flashed (downgraded) WM5 ROM is starting the Extended ROM installation after the basic OS install (as normal) but that Extended ROM is still a WM6 one.
The page that is linked to includes many Extended ROMs from many countries and devices - one of them an original T-Mobile ROM (here) and if you were to unlock/unhide and mount your Extended ROM you would be able to delete the incorrect (WM6) ones and then paste in these original Extended ROM files.
The Extended ROM files are executed during a hard reset after the OS has been installed - details of how this works are within this forum. I am not sure that you need to do a hard reset but it all depends on whether you stopped the device completing a normal (complete) install. After a hard reset the device will start to execute the Extended ROM files/.cabs and if you stop that with a soft reset as soon as it starts then the device will re-boot with a basic WM build (with no service provider fixes/updates/customisations/settings)
If this is all explaining what you already know then sorry but your question posted is rather open... Hope this helps

only problem is this is HTC_BOOT 0106 and most ppl are now patched to 0108 so I would have thought we cannot downgrade our radio rom.
TBH 1.43 is the best radio rom out and i cannot say a bad word against it. I have only eva updated my radio rom and since the radio update have not had a problem with the origional t-mob os.

I keep loosing connection with the 1.50 that came with the WM6 test ROM, and also falling down to GSM even though I'm in a good 3G reception area.
Didn't seem to notice these problems before. I was running Radio 1.48 onto of the old radio.

Any chance of you posting this backup ROM? There are many of us who would be very keen to have this as a safety net for when we have to return our Vario 2s under warranty.

I too am running with Radio 1.50, after a short-lived update to WM6. I have had no problems at all with 2g or 3g, steady as a rock.

Just so you know, that is NOT a 'tmous', you have a normal, regular HD2. Just because it is from t mobile does not make it different.
The t mobile usa ones are different, your is not.

Yes, install hspl and flash any rom and radio you like except 3.x roms.
You cannot upgrade to 3.14 because there is no 3.14 rom for any normal hd2 that are provider branded.

yes you can, but you need hspl first. run hspl2, choose 2.08.hspl, then flash over usb.

I made a mistake, I looked at the spl and because it DIDNT say 2.08.0000 or 2.10.0000 I assumed it wasn't a tmous, however I later remembered that the third or fourth tmous test rom was 2.07 and came with spl 2.07.0000, so either it is a tmous, or it is a regular hd2 that has had a tmous test rom forced onto it.
(My mistake for just glancing through the first post and not double reading it.)

That, i believe, is an issue with the first tmous 2.13 rom, and since I haven't experienced the slow touch problem, i dont know anything about it, sorry.
Also, just so we know exactly what phone we are dealing with, is it a tmous? does it say T Mobile on the case, just below the earpiece? is the send key green or white?

yes, all three of those are fine.
whenever you hear talk about "your stock rom", well for you, all three of those count as your stock rom.
for those three, you don't need hspl, just flash as normal over usb.

I have the 3.14 ROM with 3.03.000 SPL installed on my HD2
What I`m trying to do is Install NAND Android. But to do this I need HSPL 2.08.
I read through a lot of Forums indicating that this can only be done if you flash an older ROM to phone, hence overwriting the 3.03 SPL.
Tried downloading one of the older stock roms (1.66 and 1.48) and then attemped to flash via SD and through the .exe file directly.
Heres what happened:

From the .exe file it boots to the tri color screen and then reaches the progress bar screen. However it sticks there and the errors out with a code : 294.
At first I thought it could be an incorrect ROM but I doublechecked it.
Through the SD method after the phone detects the .nbh file it comes back with a "28002 : Not allow" error message.
Have tried this with various types of Mem cards but no luck.
I then tried SSPL with 1.66 and 1.48 as the ROM and i got it to flash the ROM with no problems but the HSPL still sticks at 3.03. And thats expected since SSPL is like a one shot go at flashing a ROM different from your region.
Question : Since this isnt working, will a task 29 help in this case? From what I understand it formats the filesystem that holds the OS. By doing so, will I then be able to flash one of the older Roms so I can install HSPL 2.08? Not sure if this will actually help.

simple, you're using the wrong rom. It isnt just any stock rom, its a stock rom that is correct for your phone you need. so for example if its locked to orange france, you would need the orange FRA rom, if the phone came from o2 uk its the WWE O2 UK rom you need.
dont be confused by a phone that has been sim unlocked, it would still be rom locked.

Just did this yesterday.
All you have to do is check the version installed.
Mine was 3.14.479.2 which is Eastern Europe.
So i downloaded the 1.66.479.2 and flashed.this flashed the 1.48 spl..
So problem solved.
forgot to mention the 3.14 it the rom version.the rest is region specific : in my case 479.2 means eastern europe.This is important.
Fox example i tried to flash WWE:1.66.405.2 (France Bouygues) but no luck. 0% and then error.
same problem - may be we need HSPL for SPL 3.03.0000

Problem can easily be solved by installing the correct previous stock rom.
For example if you have now the 3.14.405.x stock rom you need to use previous version 1.66.405.x Red numbers need to be the same.

Ahh, dont worry i have got it working now!!
look like i had an iffy usb cable which was stopping HSPL4 from connecting correctly.
All sorted and WP7 now running, though after all that i dont think i like it!!!
