how can we install this on our devices, or can anybody make rom with it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470363
TF3D is already slow on the devices that it is made for.
our prophet has am much slower processor and no 3D acceleration so guess what? it's going to be even slower...
Thnx
Thanks alot, i understood

Well a few days ago i got a CAB file for Touchflo3D for QVGA devices (I'm attaching it's link for further processing, if anybody can do), but it's not working for my Prophet.
http://www.4shared.com/file/71379443/4e985d8e/TF3D-QVGA.html
Let's see if somebody can manage to make it work (in my opinion it's not "MADE FOR PROPHET").
But there's a man "Prophet of HTC PROPHET" (Cloudyfa i mean), better ask him.
Thanks

God bless you brother, and give you the best
You can't run TouchFlo3D nor TouchFlo3D QVGA on the HTC Prophet since the Qualcomm Chipsets providing Hardware acceleration! And that's what TouchFlo3D (and the QVGA port) is using! The Texas Instruments OMAP CPU doesn't support Hardware acceleration so forgett it!

OK I made a quick search in the forum and didn't find anything which is quite a surprise...
I came along with this...
http://www.linpus.com/xampp/webmaster/Products/Linux9.4Lite.htm
Its inside the hardware limitations of Athena and could be running from the miniSD or the microDRIVE.
3G/EDGE, WIFI, Bluetooth, GPS all supported
For all of us using the Athena as laptop/replacement or just have another cellphone for actual phone calls maybe is the best news out there...
It might also support phone calls I don't know!
Also optimized for 4~7 inches screens... WTF???
I don't have the nerves to tested right now as I'm on a trip
Anyone knows more about this???!!!???
Hm...listen nice.
But i will wait, untill you will finish your trip. Then you can test it.
Thx for the informations.
wow that is cool. i would love to do this. but i would have to go back to using my kaiser ) i might give ti a try.
ummm... guys - a quick check reveals that it needs an Intel CPU and 128MB RAM - two things that the Athena doesn't have...
If you take a look at the wiki it looks like we do have the neccesary hardware.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Athena
It shows us having an Intel processor and 128 mb of ram.

I got all hot and excited by this thread but the above statment was correct you will find that the Athena doesn't have the required cpu
although you are correct it's an Intel Xscale, the Xscale cpu is based on ARM instruction sets not x86
Quote from website:
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
CPU
Intel x86 compatible
Intel, AMD and VIA at 366MHz and up
this alone bombs the thought of this linux flavor on the athena.
I agree it's possible to a limited degree i've seen other threads about this idea and the such as qtopia, Opie and similar will run their basic functions on the athena, it wouldnt' support the gsm radio or many other chips already in the athena due to a lack of development specs that haven't been worked out.
I'll never profess to be an expert in linux even though i consider my self as an average user. But i don't know how to develop or program applications in full but i know enough from my old tinkering days that the instruction set of the cpu rules alot
good thinking though =)

The athena hardware is documented here

This may sound stupid,but....

Yes. I'm running qtopia compiled for Universal off the USB stick, and the touchscreen is supported too.
It's also possible to attach the USB keyboard and mouse at the same time,
but then you'd use the external USB hub.
I've bought the USB host adapter exactly for that purpose.
The complete code can be dowloaded from the handhelds.org CVS
(including the ATI SD test driver, which does not work yet)
What about the new Athena that is going to come out?
Would it be able to support this linux platform ? or is the new Athena will be ARM based too?
Thanks

The new Athena is practically the same aside from its cosmetic changes, software developments and the 16gb drive
Look at this: http://www.htc.com/europe/default.aspx
There's any chance to put it on Prophet?

Touch Flo 3D is for VGA devices! It may be possible to hack together a non VGA (QVGA) version, but it will take some time...
Never on Prophet and never on non hardware accelerated devices.
Now it only work on Diamond but can maybe work on Cruise and Kaiser if HTC release drivers one day.

But look at the PointUI interface. I think is builded in the same way and it's working very good on prophet.
PointUI is not in 3d, therefore it's much lighter on the system.

the TV out w/camcorder cable wasn't originally mine - I just wrote this app to make your life simpler. Enjoy =p.
Should work with RAPH100/RAPH500/RAPH800 (Touch PRO CDMA or GSM/Fuze) as far as I know, untested on other devices.
hope one day it works for Tytn2...-_-
It won't, Touch Pro has a TV-Out, unlike TyTN II or Diamond, or many other .

well, diamond has same chip and hence video output capability as touch pro; its just arguable whether the hardware is actually connected..

Yes very true, I am eager as well to try the flavor of the new topaz rom. When AP team posted that they are planning to release a new rom; I was expecting to have it but it seems that their project is postponed for a reason or another!

touch hd, diamond, raphael etc has 3d hardware accelerator compatible with manila3d etc, athena hasn't. because our device need a specific driver. But i don't think that someone will make it ever.
I thought Athena has one too. But you know what, I compared video playback on Touch HD and Athena side-by-side, was better in Athena!
I used TCPMP and a .avi music video encoded at standard rates. Same file played side by side on both devices. Touch HD had a very little hic-up while playing.
Anyway, I can find Qtv display setting in Coreplayer and it plays well only after enabling it. Im talking about the Athena here. So you sure there is no ATI chipset in?

Carty..

i'm not saying that athena hasn't one. i'm saying that athena HASN'T ONE COMPATBLE WITH THE TOPAZ ONE, so incompatible to manila 3d etc.
Hello guys!
I've some questions on HTC Dual Touch.
First, in the past, there were some threads about D3D and OpenGL drivers for this device. By now, It's hard to find something about 3D acceleration and Touch Dual. Is there any rom which including these drivers? And will it worth?
Because - and so we come to the next point - I saw some videos on Youtube about an amazing PSX emulation tool. I do not exactly now what this software require, but with activated D3D - will it work?
Or isn't their any use of D3D even if it's activated or not?
Next, you guys flash a lot of roms with 6.1 or 6.5! Well, in the past, I use the HTC Prophet and Elf. In my opinion, 6.1 was a bit faster than 6.5! But with it's other hardware and by improved Win 6.5 versions, this may have changed!?
And my last question! HTC phones/ PDAs are nice things, but I really miss the smilies. You know, a SMS looks more friendlier when the smilies will be visual and not only letters! Is there any way to get these into win mobile?
I thank in advancefor answering my question and have to excuse me for my bad English!
