Hello guys!
I've some questions on HTC Dual Touch.
First, in the past, there were some threads about D3D and OpenGL drivers for this device. By now, It's hard to find something about 3D acceleration and Touch Dual. Is there any rom which including these drivers? And will it worth?
Because - and so we come to the next point - I saw some videos on Youtube about an amazing PSX emulation tool. I do not exactly now what this software require, but with activated D3D - will it work?
Or isn't their any use of D3D even if it's activated or not?
Next, you guys flash a lot of roms with 6.1 or 6.5! Well, in the past, I use the HTC Prophet and Elf. In my opinion, 6.1 was a bit faster than 6.5! But with it's other hardware and by improved Win 6.5 versions, this may have changed!?
And my last question! HTC phones/ PDAs are nice things, but I really miss the smilies. You know, a SMS looks more friendlier when the smilies will be visual and not only letters! Is there any way to get these into win mobile?
I thank in advancefor answering my question and have to excuse me for my bad English!

Good morning everyone,
With all of these new versions of the touch cube around. I was wondering if anyones using the newer versions that have been released on their Athena and if they like the functionality?
There are lots and lots available all seemingly doing different things. I liked the way the cube worked on the original touch.

I've not got any of them to work except for touchcommander,
that works in realvga and landscape, but is commercial.
Can someone make a ROM from Topaz please.. The HTC customized WM6.1 ROM is faar better than WM6.5. Touch HD, Diamond and many other devices have got it ported but not on Athena yet.
Micky and other great cookers, can you still show some love on Athena please..
Regards,
Carty..

Yes very true, I am eager as well to try the flavor of the new topaz rom. When AP team posted that they are planning to release a new rom; I was expecting to have it but it seems that their project is postponed for a reason or another!

touch hd, diamond, raphael etc has 3d hardware accelerator compatible with manila3d etc, athena hasn't. because our device need a specific driver. But i don't think that someone will make it ever.
I thought Athena has one too. But you know what, I compared video playback on Touch HD and Athena side-by-side, was better in Athena!
I used TCPMP and a .avi music video encoded at standard rates. Same file played side by side on both devices. Touch HD had a very little hic-up while playing.
Anyway, I can find Qtv display setting in Coreplayer and it plays well only after enabling it. Im talking about the Athena here. So you sure there is no ATI chipset in?

i'm not saying that athena hasn't one. i'm saying that athena HASN'T ONE COMPATBLE WITH THE TOPAZ ONE, so incompatible to manila 3d etc.
Anyone remember the fiasco with missing video drivers for the 6800?
I was wondering if there has been any progress from HTC, or from individual users, in providing some basic video drivers for the Mogul.
I can't stand the sluggish UI! What options do I have? What have you guys done to your phones to make it better?
Also, I've been running Android 1.0, and it seems like it runs OpenGL ES demos just fine. So does Android have its own drivers for Qualcomms, too?
Edit: Is Android *capable* of being flashed to the Titan? Being run without the overhead of Winmo? And does Winmo actually run entirely in the background? That sounds awful!
the MSM7xxx drivers were released at least for most devices but i dont know if titan supports them. if you have tested wm6.5 latest releases you'll see it runs pretty good for a device that was actually for wm5.
on the android thing, i guess it is "possible" to flash android but its too dangerous so i think that might be the reason it hasnt been done.
winmo doesnt run in background, after Haret is executed it shutsdown winmo completly, if this is not done then android cannot be ran due to the lack of ram.
Hey everyone! I just got my hands on the HTC Touch Pro 2 through Sprint with Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. I'm interested in finding out a few things:
1) Where can I find the resources/tutorials for writing applications for my phone? I'm a C++ programmer and would like to know if it's possible to port console based programs onto my phone, even if it means writing them again in a new language.
2) Are there any good open-source applications that are written to run on Windows Mobile 6.5 and the HTC Touch Pro2?
3) This one is very unlikely (or at least not wise to do) but are there any OS alternatives for the HTC Touch Pro2? Such as a Linux port? Just curious. I imagine even if there is such an OS it would somehow make life far too hectic when it comes to using the phone as a phone
Thanks in advance for any information!
head over to the right forum, you are in the touch pro forum, you want the rhodium (touch pro 2) forum. you'll get a better response there. I don't have an answer for you.
Hi I am not a developer or anything and I realise this site is more for those types so sorry if this is in appropriate.
Bascally I got the tytn I to play around a bit with roms ad learning an=bout developing. I want to try and get some emulators working on it but they all seem to be made for windows 2003, so obviously they either do not work or are jus very bad. I tried:
Picodrive
pocket genesis
morphgear
pocket snes 1.5
dosbox 073 arm
Will I need to downgrade the rom a lot to get this stuff going or is there another version that is known to work better with these older apps?
Thank you for your patience.
D
tried downgrading from mobile vista 6.5 seadragon
to Pays WWE final Full which is 6.1
Not really much difference in performance of the emulators so I guess I would have to go WAY back to something that would work with these emulators. Is it even possible to get windows 2003 on the hermes?!? Would I even want it will my phone be pretty much useless as far as being compatible with things like Activesync and Outlook?
Thank for your time

you're wrong! emulators actually getting to work on windows upper windows 2003
I think, you just do not realize the requirements for the emulator to work on your device
